A plate of rice that will not satisfy u will cost u about 5GH which is over 600naira. Bottle water that they sell for 50naira here is about 1GH 1p. Which is over 130naira. If u now move down to villages like Nkwakwa, Abetifi , etc...u will just die of HBP...
stop comparing the items of item prices in 2 countries to judge the standard of living, items are very very expensive in Tokyo than usa, does that mean america is better than Japan? If the people are getting the money to buy goods and services with ease then I don't think such a place is bad

You were spot on with a lot of things but just want to address a few misconceptions.

1. All over the world you will find that women are generally more friendly an excepting to outsiders than their male counterparts. If you go to America, South Africa etc you will find that you will get more "love" from the woman. If a Ghanaian man and a Ghanaian woman went to Nigeria who do you think would get more luv? the women would get more luv from the guys more likely than not. This is the truth and if you travel more you would understand why.

2. Just like you have some Nigerians who hate Ghanaians you will find some Ghanaians who hate Nigerians. That however does not mean every Ghanaian or every Nigerian. I know some Ghanaians who went to Nigeria and had the worst experience ever. Does it mean all Nigerians are bad and that Nigeria is a bad country with bad people? Like I said many Ghanaians tend to be wary of Nigerians because of experiences. It does not mean that we hate you. If you are a good person and you come to Ghana to do legit business or are gainfully employed than you will not suffer or have any issues in Ghana.

5. People should try and be objective and provide proper advice. Everywhere you go you will find some things that are better than your country and some things that are worse than your country. This is why you need to analyse what you want to do first in any country but the best experience is visiting the country itself. Life is tough everywhere and its even tougher in another country if you do not have some steady flow of income and are not legally residing there but if you do than you will enjoy it. This goes for anywhere in the world if you are not legal and don't have steady income you will suffer.

6. Not all Ghanaian women 'love' or are interested in Nigerian men so just becareful because I see a lot of generalisations here. Yes you will find some girls that will like Nigerian men either because they had good experience dating you, bad experience with ghanaian men, want to try something different or the money hungry ones who love the flashy nature and the spending. Those are not the majority so saying Ghanaian women love Nigerian men more than their own men because we feel they are more responsible is a fallacy of the highest order. The reverse is the case besides most women prefer their own men then others so this is normal.

In conclusion Ghana is not heaven. It's still a third world country just like Nigeria but will obviously have some things that are better than Nigeria and some things that are worse. The grass is not always greener on the other side. I always believe that if you are doing okay in your country then unless you can go and do better elsewhere, its better you stay in own country than go and suffer in another country. The good thing about Ghana is that its close to Nigeria but for other people who relocate to far away countries, its not as easy to come back home bearing in mind costs and all.

Btw I was not replying just to you alone just in general.

Quite understood.

Nothing i described is absolute. There are always exceptions here and there. I could replace many, general, e.t.c. with "some" really... for fair measure.

The proportion of reactions/actions/counteractions is what we may disagree on, because it varies based on the angle..

This is the unfiltered truth. The only good thing about ghana is constant power, which is now bloody expensive.
Life is better in nigeria.
How much do you spend on an average for fuel in Nigeria. Calculate and see that the forma is cost effective. You see the light more often and no need for gen sets. If there were to be constant light in Nigeria you will pay at a high fee to receive it

That's cool bro.

But you really don't need to be going for a web design training. There are lots of toolz out there that can help you simplify the process of building web pages. It's important you focus on the vital aspect which is marketing. You can even outsource the designing of yohr web pages.
I did outsource but getting crap. Really unhappy. Check out my landing page and what do you notice is wrong :bellyfatreduction.us

I could not resist the temptation to respond to this thread after reading from the beginning to the end. I found it strange that almost everyone was talking about how things were more expensive in Ghana than in Nigeria. What about USA, what about U.K. What about Australia? Are things not more expensive in those places? Yet don't we have many Nigerians living and doing well there. Costs is a relative thing. Some people I know in the US pay as much as $2500 as rent per month. What are you saying? Are we now going to say that this makes Nigeria better than USA?

Cost is a relative thing. What matters is whether you can afford it. The people living in Ghana (Ghanians and most foreigners who are non Nigerians) do not know about the cost of things in Nigeria. It is all a matter of what obtains in each country. They do not go pressing the calculator each time they want to buy things. Lets take for instance a man in the US where the cost of rent / housing is in thousands of dollars, are you saying that because average rent is cheaper in Nigeria, that makes Nigeria a better place?

Nobody is talking about the fact that in Ghana I do not have to be afraid that the Bus that I enter may not take me safely to my destination because the Driver and the other occupants may be Armed robbers, Kidnappers or people who slaughter people for the human parts they want. Nobody is talking about the fact that I can walk the streets here even at 12pm-1am midnight without anybody attacking and probably killing me. No one is talking about the fact that in the 12 years that I have been here from Nigeria, I have never heard a single gun shot. Nobody is talking about the fact that each day I am not scared that my kids who went to school may not come back because they have been kidnapped.

I am not saying that this place is without any problem, of course there will always be problems as far as we are in this earth. Each country has got its own problems. But what I am saying is that I came here and I loved it.

OP if you want to move to Ghana and you make at least $1000 per month, I will tell you that in Ghana you will live like a king. You may not even spend half of that if you are not extravagant since it appears you are still single and planning to come here alone. Some people wrote that you will need 500 Ghana cedis per month for rent. OP you can get a single room at 50-100 Ghana cedis per month depending on your location. It all depends on you.

If you do not have a job and you want to come to Ghana to look for a JOB, then I will tell you, hell NO. No job here and things are tough. But as an Internet marketer or someone who works and earns online, you will not have it hard. You are kind of independent and can live anywhere in the world. You know what you want. You want constant electricity, you want peace of mind, you want safety, etc. You know why you want to relocate. It is good that you asked, but ultimately you alone is the one to decide.

If you are in Ghana minding your business, no one will harass or molest you. Just like in any other country, the moment you go against the law is where you have problems. We as Nigerians says Ghanians do not like us. It is the same all over the world. Even our neighbors in Benin, and Cameroon do not like us. People in the US, U.K. South Africa and so on do not like Nigerians period. I even heard that Donald Trump said that if he wins the forthcoming US general election, he will send all Nigerians away from the US. We as people should ask ourselves, how did we get to this? Why is almost everyone scared on the name Nigeria? A food for thought for everyone of my country man / woman.

Ghana is not not like Nigeria in many ways. Forget the fact that we share the same colonial Master and speak same official language which is English. I am a Nigerian and spent the first 39 years of my life in Nigeria before moving out, so I know what I am talking about. I have tasted life in other countries and can speak from experience. If you slap someone here, and the person takes you to the police, you will be taken to the court and eventually end up in JAIL if you are not lucky. You will not get away with breaking the law in Ghana. You have to be careful.

Here if a girl is walking alone in a lonely path or street at say at about 12 midnight, if you as much as harass her and she raises an alarm, the people already asleep in their rooms nearby will come out and run after you and catch up with you. You will go to JAIL for attempted RAPE. So everyone is careful. Here someone can be jailed 90-120 yearssmiley That means a life and half jail term.

In Nigeria, I drove on LAGOS roads for 9 straight years, but I do not drive in Ghana because I do not have a driving license now.

OP come to Ghana and test life there for 1-2 weeks, then you can decide. Do not let anyone decide for you.

For me, I came here, found peace and rest of mind. What is home? Home is anywhere you have peace. A home is different from a house, just like a wife is different from a woman. I will spend the remaining part of my life here and will only visit Nigeria from time to time. Business-wise, the market in Nigeria is bigger and better. I plan to set up a company in Nigeria soon, but will operate from here. Ask Chief Dele Momodu of Ovation and others here, why they prefer to have their base here and not in Nigeria. I rest my case.

I just checked it put. It's not too bad though.

However, ideally images should be on the left hand side on squeeze pages. Also the headline alone is supposed to be that gigantic. The words are all cramped together. You should also try to make the sign up form above the fold i.e when people land on the page the sign up form should immediately be visible.

Those are my little observations, bro.

You've been of immense help on this thread. Thanks a lot. It's really wise to seek firsthand info on stuffs lime these. I am sure a lot of intending travellers have also learnt from this thread much as I have. God bless
V0lv0:
Another thing in mind is its not always easy to compare one country to another. If I start comparing and saying price of food in Ghana is way cheaper than South Africa therefore Ghana is better is a fallacy. South Africa has a higher cost of living and thus things will be more expensive but if am in the country legally and am earning an income that is sustainable to meet my environment than I will be be just fine.

what should be considered as well is the money derived from the business/employment you will be making in Ghana. For example if I am working in a company in Ghana and I make 3000 cedi's and I go to South Africa which has a higher cost of living and am earning the same amount in rand equivalent than I wont survive as things are more expensive. Same like I cant relocate from South Africa to Ghana and expect the same salary that I am earning there as the cost of living is cheaper in Ghana. So these are the things you need to consider. The decision you make today does not only affect you but will also affect your future kids etc

Personally the things that I also consider are education, crime and safety, health sector are there good hospitals etc, peace and the people. If for example you do not like the people than you will never ever fully enjoy the country you stay in.

What they didn't tell you is that feeding in Ghana is hellish. Trust me, you will remember your homeland. A can of Amstel Malt is 4 Ghana Cedis, can you beat that?. Nigeria economy is still very much prettier than that of Ghana. The only country you can compare Nigeria with in Africa is South Africa and I stand to be corrected and open to be instructed. Just prepare to eat their Okra soup with Tilapia fish, Palm nut soup, Kenke, Banku, Tuna fish, etc. O boy, naija food cost wella. You go miss home die, couple with the sun eh! Kwame and Nana go use you eat their breakfast in the morning, even Kojo and Mensa go do fake resident permit for you if you wan open bank account there. Naija boys don spoil GH. Well comfortability is subjective. Somebody can be earning thousands of dollars in a month and still be uncomfortable. You say living Ghana is expensive but Nigerians are trooping in and relocating to Ghana on a daily basis so that should tell you something.

Ghana is a peaceful country and one of the safest places to live. Having lived in the country for about 10 years and have organised 3 Ghana investment opportunity tours for Nigerians to Ghana, I think I know enough for me to advice you more.I have also been involved in real estate business, buying and selling landed properties and made a few millions from my agr-business consultancy.

Most the information Da Vinci has given is credible but there is much more.

There are businesses that suit Nigerians. There are also certain business practices you have to put in place to fully enjoy your stay in Ghana.
