I did my shopping here in a abuja few weeks ago.i spent like 80k or so,thats aside car seat,cot,stroller,swing and carrier.i already av those ones as gifts.i used 20k to buy okirika overall and some few tins apart from mittens, socks and caps, bc I was advised here not to buy those ones in okirika. Me I bought d normal bathing set for 3k.Though I never buy wardrobe sha,will get that soon. I bought huggies dry comfort with 68 inside (red pack) I just want to try It for 2500.most of the tins Liftedhands listed are almost same with how I bought mine sef just that some are a little bit expensive than mine or maybe it's the product or quality.Am going to return the Johnson baby lotion I bought in place of more wipes, because MIL say na coconut oil she wan use and she don already cook am kip.me I just bought the very necessary tins we need and can't do without. As for toys DH shipped down enough say na wetin him sabi buy make him no go buy wetin I go chop am raw.if ur in abuja I can direct u to where I got my tins bc the woman seems to be the cheapest I no.I hope say my long post dey useful to u.

Olubankemi, you need to let her go and get a matured nanny. She's too much work for you to deal with + the babies you have. What you need is someone dat can work with little or no supervision. I prefer the matured ones dat come in the morning and close in the evening. That way, you will maintain your sanity and not go crazy about one little gal dat wees on the bed, steals, lies etc.

For the baby food, keep them in your room. My nanny hs a 2yr old child so I don't give her the avenue to steal. I keep my baby's food in my room. I have dispensers where I put the portion he should eat b4 I return from work. Once I'm back, she closes the day.

If you need a small person around to play with baby, you can but ensure dis particular girl leaves b4 u get BP o! My principle concerning helps is dat no one is indispensable! If you leave today, I will get a better person. Start the search, preferably use agents so u can fall back on them in case anytin goes wrong.

What i did was split the list into three according to my budget. I didn't spend above 100k in getting everthing i needed. It all depends on your pocket. Some mamas spend up to 200k in getting their baby items, others spend about 60-70k.
So plan according to what you intend to spend. No matter your budget, you can get what you need.

Went 4 a scan yesterday,n d scan guy say my Edd na 08 Oct,na him i halla 4 d guy o,he now retook d measurement n said it's Sept 06,,also said baby is 35/36weeks n weighing 2.7kg,me dat am days away 2 39weeks,i told him sumtin is wrong somewhere,abi him dey learn work n na 4d scan o,am just so angry 4 wasting dat moni .

They say dating scans are more accurate in first trimester. Na why the lab guys dey try use scope ask of lmp. All u need to check at this stage is how not stressed and active the baby is.

The rain has made me lazy to shop. It's rained almost every Saturday and thus I have postponed going to the market. Still trying to make up mind where to shop actually.

Wish I could stay home every day and do nothing. Feeling so lazy. I have my cousins visiting so absolutely no house work for me. They are the best.

You can start buying the things the baby will definitely use in the first 4 - 6 weeks. Big money items like the cot and stroller, can wait especially if you are going to use a bassinet or similar in your room for the first few months. And honestly most babies in naija dont go out much in the first couple of months. If you give birth outside the country you might need it sooner.

Dont buy too many clothes, just the basics ( i.e bodysuits/vests and onsies, socks, mittens and hat) as you may get some as gifts when you give birth. And babies outgrow stuff really quickly. If you dont know the sex or keeping it a surprise buy unisex colours.

Get more socks than mittens as those mittens always seem to fall off and its hard to find newborn mittens that fit well.. You can pop on a sock on each hand instead..... more reliable especially at night!

If using a basinet, moses basket or the like, dont bother getting special bedsheets , just convert one of your pillow cases and that should do the trick.

Get lots of bibs and washcloths/burpcloths / muslins.... you will be amazed as how many you go through.

Also get a list, put a paper copy in your bag, and one on your phone and be striking off and updating as you go along. People can be generous especially when you are having your first baby... if anyone asks you what you need, dont say because of hormones you can't think.... then when you dont answer on timw the peraon will go and buy another 3-6month dress that you already have 17 of! . Just show them the list and anything that they can help tick off no matter how small will be appreciated. Every little helps

One more thing for mama's looking to save money: dont be afraid or ashamed to ask people for used stuff they want to give away. You will be amazed that people you know who have finished having their kids will have lovely cots, baths, bottles, sterilizers, baby food warmers and things gathering dust in storage. Some may not want to ask you incase you feel offended... so if in need ask oh! The worst they can say is no! Even bible say seek and ye shall find!

We are 28 weeks today and super excited. All praise and glory to Jehovah for a stress free and enjoyable pregnancy , I look at myself in the mirror and say na me be this? Edd according to lmp is 16th but scan has been giving us different dates.

Amen.... I've been there before, I know how they feel, the journey of TTC isn't a Child's play. I drew strength from the sisters on TTC thread and I also learnt a lot from them. Since the beginning of this pregnancy I remember them on my family altar and I believe that God will bless every sister in TTC state with the fruit of the womb.

As for shopping, i'm 97% Done, remaining few hospital stuffs and car seat.

Congratulations to all mamas who have brought forth their LOs and to the waddling mamas, supernatural delivery to us all(amen).
