They both are tin-pot liars. That's an F/A-18 with a drop tank underneath it.

A camera phone image would not come up that way, it's a cropped image he most likely had in his phone.

Its dehumanising gruesome punishment like this that turns our soldiers into animals when they come into contact with the outside world.
This does not necessarily make them better soldiers, just makes them angry at the world.

This is why a female soldier would assault a civilian man for daring to complement her smartness, or why another soldier recently beat up an FRSC man and virtually blinded him for attempting to beg on behalf of a civilian.

We must evolve a modern military, enough of these practices from 18th century Britain!!!

These are part of our drills.

No cadet officers, short service (commissioned officers) and non-commissioned officers that has not done these or undergone something worst than these. I can't tell of the other branches of the military......... grin

wouldn't agree more or less with you on this matter.the military(esp the army) has been given toomuch liberty to treat civilians in the most brutal way anyone could think of.

But you and i know that the only institution people still have respect for in this country is the military.so i'll say they should be a little tolerant of the common man,but not completly.
No army personel will ever tell u all they pass through in the jungle.''when u get there'' is usually what u'll hear.
besides this is just one of the easiest punishment they give for misconduct.

PRESS RELEASE FROM DEPARTMENT OF STATE SERVICES

In furtherance to ongoing tactical and counter-terrorism operations to degrade the capabilities of criminal gangs/syndicates in their hide-outs across the Federation, the Department of State Services (DSS) wishes to apprise the general public of recent successes recorded.

2. Following threat messages against some members of the Diplomatic Corps in Abuja and Lagos, this Service responded and subsequently apprehended one Aikhoje MOSES, on 19th August 2016, at Azagha by-pass off the Benin–Asaba Expressway in Edo State. Before his arrest, MOSES had threatened the diplomatic community in Nigeria, particularly the Consular-Generals of Switzerland and Denmark and their Embassies in Nigeria, warning them to leave the Country.

4. Similarly, on 8th July, 2016, at Kinkinau area in Unguwar Mu’azu of Kaduna metropolis, the Service arrested one Mukhtar TIJANI, a notorious Boko Haram fighter and three (3) of his accomplices namely, Isiaku SALIHU, Abdullahi ISAH and Hindu ISAH. The four suspects were apprehended while perfecting arrangements for major coordinated attacks on selected targets and locations in Kaduna State.

5. In a related development, on 12th August 2016, at Auchi in Edo State, three members of the ANSARU terrorist group hibernating in Kogi State were apprehended by the Service. Usman ABDULLAHI, Abdulmumuni SADIO and Ahmad SALIHU were arrested while making arrangements to launch attacks on some selected targets in Edo and Kogi States, before escaping to join ISIS in Libya.

6. Following recurring attacks by cattle rustlers in Zamfara State, this Service conducted series of operations in collaboration with the military to degrade the criminal network of one “BUHARI General’” in the State. Sequel to these operations, this Service arrested one Abdullahi HARUNA aka DOUGLAS, a bread seller on 13th August, 2016, at Hayin Buba area in Gusau LGA of Zamfara State. IDPs: NAF EXTENDS HUMANITARIAN SUPPORT TO BAMA

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), in furtherance of its humanitarian support to victims of the Boko Haram insurgency, has established another field hospital to cater for the healthcare needs of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Bama. The latest facility makes the second field hospital to be established by the NAF in Borno State to cater for IDP needs, with the first being in Dalori IDP Camp. The Bama IDP Camp, before now, had been in dare need of additional medical facilities as the only medical outfit established by UNICEF was already overstretched and lacking the requisite facilities and manpower to adequately cater for over 9,450 IDPs in the Camp. The establishment of the new NAF Emergency Hospital is expected to ease these challenges as well as alleviate the sufferings of the IDPs while the Federal Government perfects the plans for their return to their villages.

The purpose of the NAF humanitarian efforts is to endear the victims and gain their support for the NAF, and by so doing to acquire the necessary intelligence needed to successfully prosecute the on-going counter insurgency and counter terrorism operations.

The new 35-bed hospital was commissioned today by His Excellency the Executive Governor of Borno State, Alhaji Kassim Shettima who lauded the initiative, describing it as another measure by the NAF to save lives aside its fighting to protect them. Meanwhile the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Mshl Sadique Abubakar has said that the NAF will continue to do everything within its ambit to provide necessary assistance towards addressing the challenges facing the IDPs.

B’Haram sacks Borno village, kills scores

Boko Haram insurgents has sacked Shawa, a village in Askira Local Government Area of Borno State, the leader of the youth vigilance group in the area, Istifanus Apagu, told one of our correspondents on the telephone.
Apagu said on Monday that the insurgents who came to the village on bicycles, attacked Shawa village near Mussa district in the wee hours of Sunday.
Another Civilian Joint Task Force source, however, told one of our correspondents that the Boko Haram fighters killed “many of the villagers, raped some women, took some away and injured many others.”
One of the villagers, who simply identified himself as Ibrahim, said though he managed to escape,  some of his relations were not as lucky.
Ibrahim added that they burnt down the entire village, raped women and injured many residents.
Apagu, who is the leader of the youth vigilance group (Civilian JTF) in Mussa district, said he  visited the scene moments after the attack and discovered that nothing was left in the village.
He said, “They (insurgents) came on bicycles around 4am on Sunday morning while people were  sleeping and started opening fire on the helpless people and the villagers fled into the bush but many were critically injured.
“Though I did not see any corpse, the whole village was set ablaze and nothing was left standing. In fact, they went away with six bicycles.”
In a related development, the troops of the Nigerian Army have destroyed some kidnappers’ camps and killed three of the hoodlums in some parts of Bauchi State.

TROOPS REPEL ATTACK ON THEIR LOCATION AT DARUL JAMEL

Troops on Operation LAFIYA DOLE stationed at Darul Jamel, on the fringes of Sambisa forest, northern parts of Borno State, yesterday evening successfully repelled an attempted attack on their location by remnants of Boko Haram terrorists.

The terrorists attempted to storm the troops location at about 10.00pm, but paid dearly as the troops killed several of them including two senior commanders that led the attack.

The troops recovered 1 Light Machine Gun (LMG) with Registration number 56M-1101229, 1 AK-47 Rifle Magazine, Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) Bomb and 1 top cover of an AK-47 Rifle. Other items recovered include 395 Rounds of 7.62mm (NATO) ammunition and 15 rounds of 5.5mm by .45 ammunition.

Prior to the attack, the troops of the same unit on routine patrol earlier, had cleared an ambush staged by elements of the suspected remnants of the terrorists desperate for food near Banki Junction.

It is equally believed that the attack and ambush might not be unconnected to the fact that the terrorists were desperately targeting over 890 rescued herdsmen with their 5000 livestock being held captives by terrorists along Nigerian borders with Cameroon.

John Holt, Nigerian Navy partner on equipment manufacturing

As part of efforts to reposition the country and support local patronage, the Federal Government has contracted the manufacture of gunboats to Almarine, a division of John Holt PLC.
Leading a delegation of the Board of Directors and Senior Management of John Holt on a courtesy call to the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibot-Ete Ekwe Ibas, the Chairman of the company, Chief Christopher Ezeh, assured of John Holt’s competence to deliver on the contract.
He said: “My presence today with my colleagues is to gratefully acknowledge the Navy’s contract to us for the manufacture of gun boats.
“As your senior officers sent on inspection of our facilities can confirm, we have sufficient expertise to successfully deliver this project and others such as Ambulance Boats, Mass Transit Boats and Patrol Boats which may be of need to the Navy,” he added.

Ezeh further commended the Chief of Naval Staff for his commitment towards equipping the Nigerian Navy for readiness in combating incidents of pipeline vandalisation, piracy and other crimes on our waterways.
He assured of John Holt’s undaunting support in the Navy’s fight against sabotage, which he stressed is a threat to Nigeria’s national security and has a negative impact on the economy.
In response, the Chief of Naval Staff thanked the John Holt team for their visit and pointed out the government’s current interest in locally manufactured products.
He assured of the Navy’s support provided their needs are met.
He further highlighted the Navy’s continued determination to ensure security of the Nation’s waterways.
