I met Viola at the university, very beautiful young lady. I loved her so much but she was always asking for money from me even as a struggling student. I tried to dissuade her from the attitude but her chant of "you're not caring" will always rent the air at each occasion l tried to. Always very confident about herself. After NYSC, I secured a job where I earned 60k per month, she was in her final year then. I told her about the job and her response was "is it 60k job you're celebrating"? I made it clear to her that I won't continue the relationship, she smiled and went away.

She later sent a message to me in the night of that day saying "60k is not enough to marry me, good riddance to bad rubbish". Fast forward six years with a wonderful wife and two beautiful kids, I bumped into her in a mutual friend father's funeral yesterday in Abeokuta, she wasn't looking as beautiful as she used to be, I greeted and exchange pleasantries with her, she responded grudgingly at first but later came back to tell me that "you're looking like a real man now". I asked her what she meant which she didn't respond to.

I heard from a friend who followed me to Ife from Abeokuta while driving down to my base at Akure today that she actually separated from her husband because the guy lost his job in the bank in 2014. What an unrepentant money monger is this Viola lady? I haven't stopped thanking my God that I made a wise decision to leave her in 2009. I pray she learn on time.

I have an advise for young ladies and gentlemen in the house, ladies change your mindset about money issues if its wrong like Viola's. Young men, shine your eyes and work very hard to earn a respectable living, cheers.

Most ladies think of now and not later. Ladies, if he's true to you, loves you, wants you for keeps but earning low or close to nothing now, your duty is to encourage him, love him and always pray, pray, and pray some more. Thank God for you, Op dear.

women that are attracted to you cuz of the money will always leave you when the money is no more there. @op, thank God for you. Others have toiled on your path and have not returned from the journey but you conquered. You have laughed last. I use to tell guys, never use money to attract the woman you want to marry.

Many of those ladies that love money too much do not know the future. They usually use today to judge tomorrow, whereas, it's not supposed to be so.

@op, I'm happy for you that you knew what you wanted and follow your heart, if not so, she'll have made life so miserable for you due to her incessant demands of money and material things that you can hardly afford.

Besides, if they like money too much like that, why can't they work for their money and spend it the way they want instead of expecting their fellow human being to go work while they spend.

Yeye!

Op, go for Thanksgiving, I rejoice with you.

Dodged a bullet. Most people have some sort of shallow criteria when it comes to dating to be honest, which is why I've always maintained that wanting a rich partner or someone with a reasonable amount of earning potential is not necesarily 'wrong', issue is when it becomes almost the 'holy grail' and deciding factor between staying and ditching him/her, particularly when you yourself aren't even bringing much to the table...

Repentance is not in her dictionary, she will continue to live like that until she finally ruin her life.

I am happy you dodge a bullet by walking away, even though you love her then, some stupid men would be working their azz off to please a woman, worse still a "common girlfriend ",not even wife..

A gold digger smells money from 1000000000000miles away..

If you love spending, be ready to work.. No tricks, no magic..

I just remembered the one that told me she can't settle with me managing 23k job far back 2012....she gave a text message that she CNT continue with me,I pleaded things gonna change buh ask for how long will things change.her next picture on facebook shocked me.she happily uploaded her pics and one Edo guy...and tagged me lols.she wrote the man of my life.fastforward the following year...I left the country for one of the best country to make living in the world.am living large and so comfortable. I was in Nigeria 4months ago and coincidentally we met at one hospital in Lagos where I came to pick my friend that is a medical doc. She couldn't believe her eye when she saw me and a brand new Toyota car I drove in.we related a little bit and I told her this is the car I bought for my mum...she couldn't close her mouth as she opened it.am in a rush while I drove off.I dropped my no with her and she keep calling for hanging out till I traveled. She explained what she is passing tru but i cnt just help.To cut it short...she is still single and seriously searching now.To the ladies ....never u underate any man even your fellow gender.nobody knows tomorrow.

I knew most ladies would avoid this thread, because they are birds of a feather.

I have noticed most Nigerian girls have this gold-digging trait in their blood. It's up to you to be smart and wise with them.
