Good day all,

I need advice/ guidance on this issue of mine.
I applied earlier this year for an undergraduate study, but after a long wait I was denied reason being , I wasn't able to prove that I would sustain myself throughout my study financially.
I got confused because my dad (sponsor ) had over 20 million in different accounts cumulatively.
And my program is about CAD 30,000 s year.

I applied for the GCMS to get details of what went wrong but I've not gotten a reply yet.

So now I want to reapply again, but this time I want to apply to another university for a masters program, (that will be way cheaper than the undergrad ) then on getting to canada (hopefully I get it this time) I will now change my program back to the undergrad.

Do you think this is a good/wise move ?
Or do you have any other solution you can proffer.

Have in mind that I had completed a bsc in Nigeria already.

Thanks I'll be looking forward to your replies.

hello, u said wrote IELTS ,can you write it over there?
jojcanada:
Good people of Nigeria, I haven't posted here in a while. I'm happy to see that many people are still going the route of studies in their quest to live the Canadian dream. Studying here does not guarantee a good job when you graduate but it sure makes it easier to fit into the system. I've said this before, please only study relevant courses where you can get a job.

A little update on my journey. I came in Jan 2015, studied IT project Management at Seneca for 1 year (8 months plus coop). Got a good job in December 2015 before i graduated and I've been working there till now. Got a pay raise so now in the 6 digits but that's not me trying to brag. It took hard work and dedication. I have kept my eyes on the ball.

Even though you are a student, know why you are here. If the goal is to remain here then make sure you have all the information you need early. Don't wait till you finish school to start running from lawyer to lawyer and wasting money. Like i said, i arrived Jan 2015, I completed IELTS in April 2015 (scored maximum points in each area), completed WES by June 2015, applied for Ontario nomination by November 2015, got nominated and have now successfully applied for my PR.

Stay focused, stay informed and study/work hard. I wish everyone success in their journey and a big thanks to all those who responded to my questions and gave advice along the way.

God bless

Hi cheng,
It all depends on the course your are interested in studying, do some research on schools in canada that offer that particular course. Then go through their admission processes.
For your study permit
Www.cic.gc.ca.
You will find all you need on getting a visa there.
Thanks.

You don't search for schools for CPGA reasons / "name" alone but also for schools with programs in which u r sure of full funding! Nobody come throway money for Canada.. OP wants to study Agric Econs and most Agric grad students get good funding packages in MB... U should do ur research!
hello. Bros can you refer me to a Canadian school where one can do masters in international development with a cgpa of 4.49 and with full tuition waiver if not full funding.

Duration of work permit depends largely on CIC. There is an average time frame on their website but I will advise you plan ahead.
A professor accepting you is definitely an added bonus but not compulsory. Every school has a liaising person especially for international students. Best thing is to contact them (send email) for more info.

Yes it is possible to sponsor yourself. As long as your account balance can cover all expenses including accommodation and feeding

OMG !!! This just shows how dumb people can be. Not a single knowledge of the past (history) and they want to build a future.

All the information you need is available on their website. You can and will get admission as long as you fulfill all their requirements.

Hello Great People,

I am David by name. I really need your kind advice on how to go about my Visa application. I used GVC to gain admission into two colleges in Ontario and GVC has also requested me to come to their office in Lagos for account boosting and other documents but I am bit skeptical in using their documents and boosting based on what I have heard from the previous applicants who used them for boosting and documentation, whereby the VO noticed they used agent due to similarities of documents. Now, my sponsor is my Uncle in the UK who bears same surname with me, he will be paying my first semester tuition fees next week directly from UK. I don't know if it is advisable I request from him sponsorhip letter, statement of account and affidavit of support and use them for my visa application instead of GVC documents .

Thanks

Good day My Nairaland Family,
Trust your day is going on smooth. Thank God it’s Friday.

Please, i want my family (my husband and 2 children ages 6 and 4) to join me here in Canada.
I am currently a student in my 1st semester of my second program, my second semester is internship and then I will qualify for the post-graduation work permit. I will be graduating in April 2017.

1, Should we apply for a visiting visa or spousal open work permit?
2, who will submit the application, my husband in Nigeria or me online?
3, How can I attach a 2nd cousin (14years) that has been a great assistance since my departure?

Kindly advise or share your experience.

Thanks and God bless
