All of them were fighting for their pocket. If he was alive he would have also been hustling in politics like all his 70yr old mates are currently doing now. They were good looking though. Especially his partner in crime.lol. Fine boys hustling gone wrong.

Go back and read what led to the coup, then you can come here and we would argue.
If you think politicians started corruption today, then am sorry for you.

Today, Nigerians are clamouring for a return to the same regional system of govt he and his cohorts terminated as a result of the coup. In fact, his actions directly led to the civil war that abruptly terminated/wasted the lives of millions of folks. Some of you people and the way you reason sef.

Regional leaders filled with corruption and nepotism. Did you know sardauna, okotie eboh, ahmadu bello, et al. Whoever was killed in thay coup was so corrupt the army boys were vexing. Stop saying thrash abeg, go and read your history books. Dont come online and judge sentimental.
The only mistake made was not taking out Aguiyi Ironsi for reasons best known to them.

daft daffy duck.
You sound exceptionally clever.
Yeah i mean foolishly clever.
The leaders that have been preserved, have they helped our lot. The obasanjos, Buharis, TY Danjumas, Abduksalaam, Shonekan, Gowon. How have the bettered you lately with their policies. when i say Some Nigerians are quite foolish, you lead the pack, ur the Alpha Stupid.

Odenson, those leaders you mentioned were definitely not as stvpid as your 'hero' who is currently lying dead and buried somewhere Lord knows where, after igniting the fire that needlessly consumed millions of innocent lives (especially those of his own kin). If at this day and age you are still promoting violence as a legitimate tool to effect governmental change then i'm sorry but your folks wasted money trying to educate you. undecided

Was festus Okotie Eboh a Hausa Man??
Madam there was a reason he wasnt killed. Some stories say he was informed while others said he was part. But it was the same Ironsi that rounded up the coup plotters and jailed them.
The only reason Murtala, Ty Danjuma and Obj led a counter coup was because they werent tried and sentenced. They now installed another daft man Known as Yakubu Jack Gowon who went to war for the wrongest reasons

Lol grin grin Omo, you better be careful with the kind of heroes you choose for yourself lest you die before your appointed time cheesy . At least Ojukwu later tamed his restlessness and was successfully rehabilitated into the same system he unsuccessfully led millions of his gullible kinsmen to their untimely death fighting against, enjoying the remainder of his life with a fine younger wife at Enugu before dying at an old ripe age -- a luxury millions of Biafrans that died in that unfortunate war never got to taste or enjoy. undecided Just saying. cheesy

No one ever dies before his appinted time.
I die for freedom than live for oppression.
They still remain my heroes though and if i was alive back the, i would have fought shoulder to shoulder with them.

Madam which my people. It it cos am defending Ibos, you now assume am Ibo as well. I laff. Am from the north, a dull fledged one at that. But thats doesnt mean when i see the truth, i shouldn't say it.
Do you know the Idea of the counter coup was to seperate Nigeria, Murtala Muhammed was supposed to assume leadership and do that, but since Gowon was ahead, they settled for him. But power got to his gead, he disrespected the Aburi Conference, the British and westerns wanted the oil, they gave him left over weapons from world war to and he went to a needless war that should have been settled amicably.
