His name was Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu. He was named Kaduna because he was born and brought up in Kaduna. He also speaks fluent hausa and he's a teetotaller.

You are trying to sound clever by half but ending up looking stvpid. Do you even think before you spit your gibberish?? Is wanton murder of supposedly corrupt political leaders the answer and solution to corruption? When has that ever eliminated corruption when in fact it only installs another set of corrupt leaders to replace the previous set. What was the end result of his actions? Did it eradicate corruption or plunge the country into a needless 3-year long civil war that wasted the lives of millions. Perhaps you need to have your brain checked for some loose bolts.

Can't Nigerians make their point without including insults.

If you have your reasons state it. Leave insults out of it. Its just childish.

Nzeogwy was a radical right from his army days, he was fed up with the systematic corruption of the political elite and hee wanted to do a total cleansing of the political space because he saw the politicians as the problems of Nigeria.

He was a man who saw tomorrow and he remains my hero.

He died in Nsukka sector while driving a Biafran tank

We all know that Kaduna started the coup because of the deep seated corruption in the north and west, he wanted a better nation for his people but the stark arrogance with which he went about the whole coup incited hatred in the north. Aguiyi Ironsi didn't even help matters at all in d whole mess. He should have brought kaduna and co to justice but i doubt that would have made any difference anyway.

If you think policticians started corruption today, then am sorry for you.

Dont mind all these children of nowadays.

How or where will you start to explain to them that the numerous problems they are facing today in terms of corruption, nepotism, tribalism, godfatherism, indiscipline, etc. were all envisaged by Chukwuma Kaduna Nzeogwu and he put him team together in a bid to put an end to all that ish.

Sadly, he failed... and we are still suffering because of that to this day! cry

There's no iota of truth in all your write up, there was no agreement with within officers of counter coup to seperate Nigeria and the western powers were not supporting Nigeria at all, it was USSR & her allies that latter assisted Nigeria against Biafra, stop displaying fake history.

One of the many reasons you shouldn't trust the igbos, raised and grown at sardauna's house and he planned for his assassination. Its in their blood since 1960

Today, Nigerians are clamouring for a return to the same regional system of govt he and his cohorts terminated as a result of the coup. In fact, his actions directly led to the civil war that abruptly terminated/wasted the lives of millions of folks. Some of you people and the way you reason sef.

Why i blamed Kaduna Nzeogwu for leading a coup without thinking of the repercusions, the civil war as declared by Ojukwu was unavoidable after the pogrom.....no brave tribe can take it without reacting! According to Sanusi, they were foolish but they earned an honourable peace afterwards!
RockHard:

Odenson, those leaders you mentioned were definitely not as stvpid as your 'hero' who is currently lying dead and buried somewhere Lord knows where, after igniting the fire that needlessly consumed millions of innocent lives (especially those of his own kin). If at this day and age you are still promoting violence as a legitimate tool to effect governmental change then i'm sorry but your folks wasted money trying to educate you. undecided

All of them were fighting for their pocket. If he was alive he would have also been hustling in politics like all his 70yr old mates are currently doing now. They were good looking though. Especially his partner in crime.lol. Fine boys hustling gone wrong.

Wrong

Kaduna was fighting to 'install' awolowo...not for personal gains

I've forgotten the name of. The book OBJ wrote about him (it contained many personal correspondence + the manuscript by ifeajunna also backs it up)

Sadly his co-conspirators didn't see the plan through

Justdulla, how dare you call an unstable man as Nzeogwu the hero of democracy. A man who lost it and went on a shooting spree and leading the bloodiest coup the country ever witnessed. And who told you everyone killed in that coup was corrupt? He even killed the wife of one of his targets. Nzeogwu was mad. He wanted to change the corrupt system but he took it too far. There was too much killing in that coup. Too much senseless bloodshed.
