I am in the process of applying for a British visa and at the end of my application I was told that there is an additional fee that comes with applying at the VI location. I was not told how much this fee would be, or where I can find out. If anyone who has applied for visa recently has any information on the extra fee for the VI location, please let me know as a matter of urgency. Thank you in advance.

Thanks ekpotek. You made a good point. I do have I believe I have sufficient funds to sponsor myself. But the payslip issue has been quite worrying . If you know these so called big organisations in Nigeria, you will know it's extremely difficult to get them issue certain departments to issue you with a letter. In this case will be finance to produce a letter supporting my lack of payslips. I'd already spoken to them .

Just don't know what to do.

I am a postgraduate student at the moment in U.I. I had to quit work in a law firm as a practitioner because of school as the firm is in the east and they wouldn't accommodate full time study. I was invited by British boyfriend to UK and he intended sponsoring all things. He sent all documents required of him and I applied for a tourist visa on the 7th of may 2017. Along side all his documents, I attached a letter from my school registra, pictures taken with my boyfriend when he came back last Christmas, snapshots of our conversations all these while, a letter of consent from my mum and a closing deposit of 700k in my savings account.
I was refused visa and the decision is as below:
I am aware of your sponsor's offer to fund this visit however, in order to assess your intentions in the UK I must consider your personal circumstances and I note that you have not submitted satisfactory documents to verify your personal and financial circumstances in Nigeria. From the documents provided I am unable to confirm that you have strong financial and personal ties in nigeria that would give you a compelling reason to leave the UK at the end of your visit. You have provided a letter from the university of Ibadan which appears to confirm that you are a student at that institution, but no documents showing studies or academic achievement from the university of Ibadan. You have provided no documents showing that you have recently been visited by your Uk sponsor or when you last met. Without seeing such documents I am not satisfied that you circumstances are as stated by you in Nigeria, that your relationship is genuine, and that you intend to leave for extended periods in the United Kingdom through frequent or successive visits or that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a period not exceeding 6 months. There is no right of appeal or administrative review.

Now my questions what documents do I need to attach considering the below:
1. When I applied, I was finishing my 2 semester exam and has started looking out for job. Now that I have gotten a firm where i work as a freelance considering the fact I am still running my law masters programme. I still do all my personal soliciting jobs.
2. I have a cucumber farm.
3. My sponsor and I have been dating for 2years now.
4. My masters programme is officially ending by October/November depending.
5. When next can I apply.

I visited TLC and they said they are yet to receive my documents. Which kind thing b dis. @ justwise pls advise. Its 35 working days since i summited my passport for tourist visa. A reply i got after enquiry says decision has been taken since April 2017 and that I supposed to have gotten email on that. I summitted my docs on 5th april 2017. I havent heard anything since then.

Please house my friend sister is getting married in august and she wants to apply by june for her visa.
problem is just got a new job and she does not know if it will affect her application as she will be getting her letter from new employer.
or should she get her letter from old employer and payslip from them since statement of account will read salary from old employer?
she is very confused on which way to go. she has told new employer during her interview of plans to travel in august for 2weeks and they said no problem.

old employer is not happy she is leaving and might not write an intro/ leave letter for her if she leaves the coy.

Same applies to me inviting my mum 63 years old retiree. Me and my partner just opened a new joint account few weeks ago. All the money we saved for her trip is in the new joint account. Partner (British) works full time and I am self employed (Just registered). We plan to write a joint invitation letter for her.

First question is would it be enough if we just print the statement (less than a month statement to show the money saved up for her trip) or we need a 6month bank statement (in which case we wont be able to use the joint account)?

Second question is do we need to include our employment details?

Third question is do we need any other documents apart from these:
-Her passport
-Our passports
-Joint Invitation letter
-Joint account statement showing the money saved for her trip (less than 1 month statement)
-Letter from the occupant of the house shel be living in (8 mins drive from our house) for the duration of her visit stating she can stay stay there for the duration (We have a one bedroom apartment now but currently looking for a two bedroom apartment as we are expecting and we think it might not be ideal for her application).


PLEASE NOTE:
-She has been here before in 2012 for 1 month holiday.
-It's stated on gov.uk not to include pictures, council tax or utility bills of apartment.

it all depends on your mission,period of stay,home stay or hotel accommodation,this will inform what you will have on you,but for a two weeks stay with a reserved accommodation £200 Is enough ease your passage
