Hello Sir Good PM. @Nichesiteseo

Am really motivated and ready to put everything you have said to work, I don't want to make mistakes too much.

I already have a domain, which is on word press, I bought it for a long time now, but haven't used it. But the keyword am researching on or the keyword I will use when am done with researching isn't in my domain.

Can I go ahead or should I just go for a fresh domain with my keywords in it.?

I need some advice.

Thank you.

Sure, you can.

Keywords in your domain is a minor ranking factor.

The most important thing is your domain name be memorable and brandable.

Just checked your blog.

Do you have a sitemap plugin?

Have you submited your sitemap through google console?

You also have to be linked to somewhere from the web. You can submit your site to directories for that. But don't abuse this.

Cheers

Guys Ebook info coming up soon.

Sorry for the wait.

I will also be posting 2 sample chapters here.

Remember, my way is not the only way to make money online. It might not even be the best. It's just what has worked for me.

So you don't absolutely have to be interested in the ebook or buy it.

It's for those who keep asking for a one on one consultation that I don't have the time to take on. I want something to just point them to, hence the ebook.

If you don't have the money don't stress it.

I will be posting all you need SEO wise here along with online business models to use to make money online.

This thread was about a niche site but I will be exploring other ways and models you can use to make a living online.

By other business models, I don't mean the nonsense you see posted everywhere. It's going to be unique stuff. Things flying right under the radar.

You just need to be ready to put in the work.

They are not going to be easy things you can just wake up and cross your legs to do. They are simple but not easy. If anyone tells you otherwise about making money online, they are just trying to sell you something.

About the one on one PMs and Emails I get, I'm sorry that I don't have the time to go in depth with some of my solution for your problems.

What I can say is, everything you need is out there. You can do a Google search for any problem you get stuck with and have it fixed from what you find.

So get accustomed to searching online for solutions. This is what I do.

See you soon.

Hey Jinf,

I will also write about a tidy trick to show exact search volume for a keyword on the google adwords keyword planner.

Normally, you will see estimated search volume in ranges (1k-10k). But there is a nifty way to see the exact search volume. We will get to that.

You should also know that you aren't going to be targeting a single keyword on your niche site.

You could be ranking for multiple keywords that might have sub optimal volume but in aggregate will add up to sizeable traffic volume.
Have a nice day.

How to Get Google to Index Your Blog or Website Quickly

So, I have been receiving a lot of enquirers on how to get your site quickly indexed by google.

I think this should help:

Whenever you create a new website or blog for your business, the first thing you probably want to happen is have people find it. And, of course, one of the ways you hope they will find it is through search. But typically, you have to wait around for the Googlebot to crawl your website and add it (or your newest content) to the Google index.

So the question is: how do you ensure this happens as quickly as possible? Here are the basics of how website content is crawled and indexed, plus some great ways to get the Googlebot to your website or blog to index your content sooner rather than later.

What is Googlebot, Crawling, and Indexing?

What is Googlebot?

Before we get started on some good tips to attract the Googlebot to your site, let’s start with what the Googlebot is, plus the difference between indexing and crawling.

The Googlebot is simply the search bot software that Google sends out to collect information about documents on the web to add to Google’s searchable index.

Crawling is the process where the Googlebot goes around from website to website, finding new and updated information to report back to Google. The Googlebot finds what to crawl using links.

Indexing is the processing of the information gathered by the Googlebot from its crawling activities.

Once documents are processed, they are added to Google’s searchable index if they are determined to be quality content. During indexing, the Googlebot processes the words on a page and where those words are located.

Information such as title tags and ALT attributes are also analyzed during indexing.
So how does the Googlebot find new content on the web such as new websites, blogs, pages, etc.?

It starts with web pages captured during previous crawl processes and adds in sitemap data provided by webmasters. As it browses web pages previously crawled, it will detect links upon those pages to add to the list of pages to be crawled. If you want more details, you can read about them in Webmaster Tools Help.

Hence, new content on the web is discovered through sitemaps and links. Now we’ll take a look at how to get sitemaps on your website and links to it that will help the Googlebot discover new websites, blogs, and content.

How to Get Your New Website or Blog Discovered

So how can you get your new website discovered by the Googlebot? Here are some great ways.

The best part is that some of the following will help you get referral traffic to your new website too!

Create a Sitemap – A sitemap is an XML document on your website’s server that basically lists each page on your website.

It tells search engines when new pages have been added and how often to check back for changes on specific pages.

For example, you might want a search engine to come back and check your homepage daily for new products, news items, and other new content.

If your website is built on WordPress, you can install the Google XML Sitemaps plugin and have it automatically create and update your sitemap for you as well as submit it to search engines.

You can also use tools such as the XML Sitemaps Generator.

Submit Sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools – The first place you should take your sitemap for a new website is Google Webmaster Tools.

If you don’t already have one, simply create a free Google Account, then sign up for Webmaster Tools.

Add your new site to Webmaster Tools, then go to Optimization > Sitemaps and add the link to your website’s sitemap to Webmaster Tools to notify Google about it and the pages you have already published.

For extra credit, create an account with Bing and submit your sitemap to them via their Webmaster Tools.

Install Google Analytics – You’ll want to do this for tracking purposes regardless, but it certainly might give Google the heads up that a new website is on the horizon.

Submit Website URL to Search Engines – Some people suggest that you don’t do this simply because there are many other ways to get a search engine’s crawler to your website.

But it only takes a moment, and it certainly doesn’t hurt things. So submit your website URL to Google by signing into your Google Account and going to the Submit URL option in Webmaster Tools.

For extra credit, submit your site to Bing. You can use the anonymous tool to submit URL’s below the Webmaster Tools Sign In – this will also submit it to Yahoo.

Create or Update Social Profiles – As mentioned previously, crawlers get to your site via links. One way to get some quick links is by creating social networking profiles for your new website or adding a link to your new website to pre-existing profiles.

This includes Twitter profiles, Facebook pages, Google+ profiles or pages, LinkedIn profiles or company pages, Pinterest profiles, and YouTube channels.

Share Your New Website Link – Once you have added your new website link to a new or pre-existing social profile, share it in a status update on those networks.

While these links are nofollow, they will still alert search engines that are tracking social signals. For Pinterest, pin an image from the website and for YouTube, create a video introducing your new website and include a link to it in the video’s description.

Bookmark It – Use quality social bookmarking sites like Delicious and StumbleUpon.

Create Offsite Content – Again, to help in the link building process, get some more links to your new website by creating offsite content such as submitting guest posts to blogs in your niche, articles to quality article directories, and press releases to services that offer SEO optimization and distribution.

Please note this is about quality content from quality sites – you don’t want spammy content from spammy sites because that just tells Google that your website is spammy.

How to Get Your New Blog Discovered
So what if your new website is a blog? Then in additional to all of the above options, you can also do the following to help get it found by Google.

Setup Your RSS with Feedburner – Feedburner is Google’s own RSS management tool. Sign up or in to your Google account and submit your feed with Feedburner by copying your blog’s URL or RSS feed URL into the “Burn a feed” field.

In addition to your sitemap, this will also notify Google of your new blog and each time that your blog is updated with a new post.
Submit to Blog Directories – TopRank has a huge list of sites you can submit your RSS feed and blog to.

This will help you build even more incoming links. If you aren’t ready to do them all, at least start with Technorati as it is one of the top blog directories. Once you have a good amount of content, also try Alltop.

Keywords are very important for your blog posts. You need to insert your keywords at the appropriate places in your blog for a higher ranking.
I recently published a post on the best positions to insert your focus keywords.

Send me an email to Somwealth1@gmail.com I will reply you with the post link.

You are not ranking for any keyword because you do not place to them in the appropriate places.

Lesson 5: Keyword Research (Part 6) .

If you see another exact or partial-match mini-site this is generally a good sign. More importantly, you can look at their backlinks, how long the site’s been up, etc. to give yourself a good comparison as to how your site will do. If your process is as good or better than theirs you could expect similar results!

Rank Higher and Get More Traffic with an Optimized Page (Relevant for 2017)

Here is a practical guide to getting more traffic for your website with every content you publish.

1. Use SEO-Friendly URLs

Google has stated that the first 3-5 words in a URL are given more weight.

So make your URLs short and sweet.

And always include your target keyword in your URL.

In other words:

Avoid ugly URLs: Seojunky/p=123
Or long URLs: Seojunky/8/6/16/cat=SEO/on-page-seo-is-so-amazing-omg-its-the-best

Good example: Seojunky.com/seo-strategy

2. Start Title With Keyword

Your title tag is the most important on-page SEO factor.

In general, the closer the keyword is to the beginning of the title tag, the more weight it has with search engines.

If you were trying to rank for the keyword 'SEO Strategy', a good title tag will be:

'SEO Strategy: The Complete practical guide.'

Notice how the title tag prominently starts the the title.

3. Add Modifiers To Your Title

Using modifiers like “2017”, “best”, “guide”, and “review” can help you rank for long tail versions of your target keyword.

4. Wrap Your Blog Post Title in an H1 Tag

The H1 tag is your “headline tag”. Most CMS’s (like WordPress) automatically add the H1 tag to your blog post title. If that’s the case, you’re all set.

But some themes override this setting. Check your site’s code to make sure your title gets the H1 love it deserves.

5. Dazzle with Multimedia

Text can only take your content so far. Engaging images, videos and diagrams can reduce bounce rate and increase time on site: two critical user interaction ranking factors.

6. Wrap Subheadings in H2 Tags

Include your target keyword in at least once subheading…and wrap it in an H2 tag.

7. Drop Keyword in First 100 Words

Your keyword should appear in the first 100-150 words of your article.

This is something that you probably do naturally.

But a lot of people start their posts off with a long, meandering intro…and use their keyword for the first time MUCH later.
Instead, drop your keyword somewhere in the first 100 words or so. This helps Google understand what your page is all about.

8. Use Responsive Design

Google started penalizing mobile unfriendly sites in 2015. And they’re likely crack down even more in the future.

If you want to make your site mobile-friendly, I recommend Responsive Design.

I’d be surprised if your site isn’t mobile-friendly yet.

But if it isn’t, maybe the incentive of more search engine traffic will push you to take the leap.

And if you’re going to make your site mobile-friendly, I HIGHLY recommend responsive design.

In my opinion, it’s ideal for user experience.

9. Use Outbound Links

This is an easy, white hat SEO strategy to get more traffic.

Outbound links to related pages helps Google figure out your page’s topic.

It also shows Google that your page is a hub of quality info.

Not linking out might be the #1 on-page SEO mistake that I see people make.

I try to use 2-4x outbound links per 1000 words. That’s a good rule of thumb for most sites.

Keep in mind that the sites you link out to reflect on you.

So make sure to link out to authority sites whenever possible.

10. Use Internal Links

Internal linking is SO money. Use 2-3 in every post.

If you want to see a great example of how to internal link on your site, check out Wikipedia.

They add keyword-rich internal links to every entry.

Obviously, they can get away with 50+ internal links per page because they’re Wikipedia.

I recommend a simpler (and safer) approach: link to 2-5 older posts whenever you publish a new one.

11. Boost Site Speed

Google has stated on the record that page loading speed is an SEO ranking signal. You can boost your site speed by using a CDN, compressing images, and switching to faster hosting.

Make sure your site doesn’t take more than 4 seconds to load: MunchWeb found that 75% of users wouldn’t re-visit a site that took longer than 4 seconds to load.

You can easily check your site’s loading speed using the excellent GTMetrix dot com.

CDNs and cache plugins are nice, but investing in premium hosting is the #1 thing you can do to make your site faster.

12. Sprinkle LSI Keywords

LSI keywords are synonyms that Google uses to determine a page’s relevancy (and possibly quality). Sprinkle them into every post.

If you want to make 100% sure that you’re using LSI keywords, search for your keyword in Google and scroll down to the “Searches Related to…” area at the bottom of the page.

Toss one or two of these into your post.

13. Image Optimization

Make sure at least one image file name includes your target keyword (for example, on_page_SEO.png) and that your target keyword is part of your image Alt Text.

Another reason to optimize your images for SEO: it gives search engines another clue of what your page is about…which can help it rank in organic search.

When Google sees images with alt text “blue widgets” and “green widgets” it tells them: “this page is about widgets”.

14. Use Social Sharing Buttons

Social signals may not play a direct role in ranking your site. But social shares generate more eyeballs on your content.

And the more eyeballs you get, the more likely someone is to link to you.

So don’t be shy about placing social sharing buttons prominently on your site.

In fact, a study by BrightEdge found that prominent social sharing buttons can increase social sharing by 700%.

15. Post Long Content

The SEO adage “length is strength” was supported by our industry study which found that longer content tends to rank significantly higher on Google’s first page.

Aim for at least 1900 words for every piece of content that you publish.

As a rule, I make sure all of my articles have 2000+ words of meaty, useful content.

Longer content helps you rank better for your target keyword and brings in more long tail traffic…a win-win!

16. Boost Dwell Time

If someone hits their back button immediately after landing on a page, it tells Google in black-and-white: this is low quality page.

That’s why Google uses “dwell time” to size up your content’s quality.

Increase your average dwell time by writing long, engaging content that keeps people reading

(I will be going into more details about advanced methods and strategies to use to keep people engaged with your content.)

A simple formula that started it all for me

So here is the second part of the previous post.

Are you ready?

Here we go:

Why most Niche Sites fail

In the previous post, I said most Niche sites fail even before they get started because of a fatal error their owners make.

Guess what that error is?

Topic selection!!!

Topic selection is the greatest decision you will ever make on your niche site!

It's make or break here folks.

Choose the wrong topic for your Niche site and you are doomed from the beginning.

Yeah, go on and optimize your email list, create super duper content and throw a fancy design on the site, but the fate of your site is decided from day one.

Here is the kicker:

You can not rescue a bad niche site topic.

By topic, I mean what your Niche site covers or is all about.

It's the elevator speech of your site (What you will tell your Mum if you tell her to visit your site and she asks you what it's about).

So if you write about Tax related matters for SMEs then that's your niche site's topic.

Here are some blog/niche site topics that will fail horribly:

>My thoughts sorta blogs (where the owner just rambles on and on about every topic on earth and provides their own thoughts on the topic. Epic fail).

>Watch me travel blogs

>Celebrity/gossip blogs

>Tech blogs (This one is so so everywhere)

>Anything general

>etc.

How to choose winning blog topics

If you choose the right blog topic, you are 80% there.

So how do you choose the right topic?

You might want to write this on your forehead.

Grab a knife.

Ready?

Winning topics do two things:

1. They solve a specific problem that people are willing to pay money for

2. They solve the problem from a fresh angle or with a twist

Here is a simple formula to come up with blog topics that work:

What problem do you solve?/From what fresh angle do you solve it?

If you get your topic right and even if your execution is just a B- you will easily scale $500/per month in income from your blog 2-3 years from now.

Examples of using this formula to come up with winning blog topics

What problem do you solve?:

How can I make money online?

From what fresh angle do you solve it?:

By buying IPhones from computer village and flipping it on Olx at a profit.

Did you get that?

If I was doing this, I will then go ahead and create tons of articles on buying iPhones cheaply at CV and flipping on Olx.

I will hit this topic from every angle!

My article titles will look something like:

'26 ways to source for cheap iPhones in Computer Village'

'How to write descriptions that sells for your IPhones on olx?'

'A blueprint for flipping iPhones on olx'

'The best times to post your IPhone ad on olx'

'How to price your IPhones to make a profit on olx?'

'Why you should not flip your own IPhone on olx'

'Case Study: Meet Ali Simbi who made 15 million naira flipping IPhones on Olx and what you can learn from him.'

I can come up with 100 article titles that hits this topic from every angle if I keep going.

Be so specific with your fresh angle, take that fresh angle and keep delivering content on that specific ultra laser topic!

There should be no deviation what so ever.

You be so laser focused.

Notice my fresh angle wasn't selling stuff online?

I picked a specific thing: A phone.

Notice my fresh angle wasn't selling phones online?

I further niched it down to: Iphone.

Notice my fresh angle wasn't selling IPhones online?

I further niched online down to: Olx

I could even Niche it further down.

Problem: How do I make money online?

Fresh angle: By selling gold IPhones on Olx and promoting it via paid ad on the platform.

Then I will take this single topic and hit it from every angle.

I will make useful and actionable content that drives home this topic all day long on my niche site.

Here are more examples:

What problem do you solve? / From what fresh angle do you solve it from?

> How can I make money buying stocks?/By buying a stock when its P.E ratio is below 7 and selling after a year.

>How can I drive traffic to my ecommerce store?/ By using Facebook ads

>How can I make money online?/ By creating Adsense niche sites

>How do I start investing in real estate with no money?/ Partner up with a private investor who funds you all the cash for the investment and then you do all the work and split profit 50-50.

>How do I get my education blog on the first page of google for x keyword/ By getting a backlink from Harvard.edu

>How can I get more work done?/By using the GTD system.

The most common objection I get using this formula is people can't imagine writing on such a narrow topic like selling gold IPhones on Olx and promoting it via paid ads.

They can't imagine coming up with more than 2 articles on that topic. They fear it is just too niche.

You know what I tell them?

Niche down till you start feeling uncomfortable.

Some constraint and structure goes a long way.

I will tell you why this works in a later post.

There is a magic to it.

More stuff to come.

Cheers.

Hi Henry,

I like your site's design. Very responsive.

Looks clean on mobile.

But what problem are you solving with this?

How do you monetize this?

Can you think of a product to sell in line with your blog's topic?

I did a research and found out that lyrics in Nigeria has a good monthly search vol. i.e. 100k+/monthly and lyrics dedicated blogs for Naija songs are not up to 20. So am thinking it will be good if I bridge this gap by proving almost all the naija songs lyrics and also I can start selling lyrics.

Give me advice and your view on this because I am an SEO expert but I got the skill after I've already setup the brand name.

The angle of bridging that gap is ok. But you don't want to be filling a gap that people are not too desperate to fill.

Probably there is a good reason why there aren't too many blogs in this space. What are the odds you are the only one seeing this gap?

I'm not also sure how profitable selling lyrics can be. Why would anyone buy lyrics? And if a couple of people do, how much will they fork out of their wallets for it?

You want to be in a niche where there is a real problem people have and a product/service you can come up with geared towards that problem. Preferably something expensive. (more on this in a post I'm writing here soon).

Cheers

I will like you to give me what I am going to blog about, so I will set up a brand new blog for it while my lyrics blog is still rolling.
