That is not correct. Each zone is responsible for her vice president and the president will only be ceremonial, more like prime minister where the five vice presidents will determine what happens in their region and each will give, according to their IGR to the Federal Government.
Haven't you seen some state governors the way they live? Is their way of life not much more flamboyant than that of a president? And it is even cheaper to run a five vice president with a central president than this sham of a government.
The vice presidents are stronger than the presidency and each state governor is answerable to the Regional vice president. There would be state police and local government autonomy will kick off. When there is dissolution of power, when it is no longer concentrated at the centre, only then can we have the Nigeria we hope for. This "true" federalism that isn't truly true is a sham.

On the idea of six yrs, one will wonder what can be achieved in six yrs that is impossible in four yrs,, When the current government with the sense of reelection still does little to merit a second term, how much more will a single six yrs give them the sense of wanting to do something worthwhile when they know it is no coming back for them after their tenure?
A President that wants to work can use the four yrs judiciously. The problem a working government will only encounter is probably the senate since they can frustrate the government if their corrupt appetite is not satisfied whether he is from their party or not...

so, I think the system needs to be looked into, a new way to check the government from the president down to the least power should be adopted. situation where the sitting Governor can instate a Local Government chairman or frustrate him by seizing allocation should be avoided.
