Family / Re: Nigerian Parents Need To Allow Their Daughters Leave Toxic Marriages by pressplay411(m): 5:31pm On Aug 19, 2023
Puss360:
The duty of a parent is to train their daughters to know themselves...
If you know yourself, you will know that from 20 yrs is now an adult and at that age any of your actions has to be taken with care....
From that age You should know when you feel you are ready for marriage, nobody should coerce you ..
You should also know the kind of man you are getting married to, nobody should know the man more than you....
If along the lane of marriage, you discover some toxic behaviour, decision to leave should rest on your shoulder Nd not your parents...

Remember, it's your marriage, it's your husband...
Not theirs...

You've spoken well, However, marriage of all decisions requires God's guidance.
Career / Re: Is It Unprofessional To Use Whatsapp For Official/business Calls? by pressplay411(m): 11:51am On Jul 19, 2023
TOBILOBA2023:
I noticed that some people sees use of WhatsApp for calls as unprofessional.

I prefer WhatsApp calls to normal voice calls because it's more cheaper and also helps save normal call airtime for lines that are not registered on WhatsApp.

A woman refused to engage me in business discussion because I called her via WhatsApp. She feels I'm not serious or professional enough.

Do you have any issues with WhatsApp calls for business/official purposes?

There is really no generic answer for questions like this;
It is a matter of understanding who you're dealing with.

If you're self employed, you have to adapt to the requirements of your customer to the best of your capacity.
If you're employed, you have to work within the specified provisions/requirements of your organisation.

Customer/Client, Employee/Staff and Employer/Management satisfactions/expectation need to be met.

He's entitled to his own opinion

A woman who knows her worth needs no validation. She knows she brings a lot to the table; Love, compassion, support, prayer, wisdom, ambition, vision, intelligence, value and drive."

She needs to be putting in the same level of effort that I am. If someone isn't willing to meet you half way to begin with, it's not a relationship and it's not worth pursing.

Well said.
The question I am still struggling with is, should a man have the expectation/entitlement that she must bring these on the table?
Or what are the essentials?

Myer:
I opened this pseudonym some years back after I backslided.

I had been very vocal of my salvation and journey as a Christian via my original account-pressplay411.
So it came as a shock that I could backslide, worse still I could not explain the reason for my backsliding. I did not fornicate or commit any of the obvious sins, I just felt a spiritual drought- I stopped experiencing the presence of the Holyspirit in my life.

I struggled with this for months, but instead of getting better, it was getting worse. When I noticed I had started rubbing off my doubts on those close to me, I decided it was best I left the church for a while. Luckily the nature of my job allowed me to travel across the nation so my pastors and church friends mostly assumed I was on official capacity as usual.

I isolated myself and eventually went back to my vomit- drinking, masturbating, fornication, etc. It only got worse with time. This would continue for about 3 years. I enjoyed the first half of backsliding. But the next half was hell on earth. Everything came crashing, including relationship, job, business, family etc. I hit rock bottom when my health could no longer sustain my lifestyle. I started to develop liver issues cos I had lost control over drinking.
I felt hopeless.

I would attempt to go back to church occassionally but it just didn't feel the same. The darkness had a claim to my soul that the light could not extinguish. Or so it seemed.

My mom, my angel was depressed. It hurt to put her through all this. Yet I had no way out.
The thought of her son drifting off before her eyes was unbearable. I knew I had to try for her. She cried, I cried.
She would eventually invite me through her friend to MFM and I agreed. Let me give it one more try.
I went through a 3 day prayer and fast at the prayer city. Got back home feeling something had happened but scared I needed to find a good MFM church to help me continue in the faith before I samk back into my habits. God had other plans
I would eventually end up in a small church close to my house. And the rest they say is history.

I rededicated my life to Christ early January this year and God has been faithful.
Please thank God for me. I am moved to tears that I can find salvation once again.
The story of the prodigal son hits different when i read or hear it now.

I don't know if anyone reading this has lost hope in life, people, God, etc. Please know that hope is all we have. Just have hope.
My hope is in Christ. And he saved me once again.

Please thank God for me.
Jesus Saves.
Hallelujah!

These long epistles are unnecessary because at the end of the day, what matters is whether you have actually started the journey in Jesus Christ or just playing religion round #2 or is it round #10. You rededicated your life to Jesus Christ, you claim, but where is the evidence that you were once born-again — born of water AND born of the spirit — and that you are even today? Where is the proof that Jesus Christ said all those who are born of Him will have? What is it? Do you have the proof that Jesus Christ said everyone who is born-again will have? Or do you like over a billion who equally claim to believe in Jesus Christ simply hear a voice on the inside of your head that you conveniently tell yourself belongs to the holy spirit? undecided

Let me share mine too
For some days now, I've been trying to understand the things I saw while asleep.

1) I was in a trance and saw myself walking around my compound at about 3am, then I saw a person cooking with firewood in the compound. I felt it was a woman because of the dressing (wrapper& blouse with feminine voice and body). The person was cooking outside, near my neighbour's apartment. I wanted to see the person that is cooking at such unholy hour and she shouted that I should not come close. I refused and went there. This made her to stop cooking and then she packed up all the cooking materials and started walking away. As she passed by me, I looked at her face and she didn't have any face. It was blurred. I'm even having goosebumps as I write now. At that moment, I wanted to shout "Jesus" but my mouth refused to open until she walked away. Then I woke up.

2) I had a dream where I went to buy provision in a shop. I didn't see what I wanted, then I saw that they also had seeds for sale. I decided to buy okra seeds for planting. The owners of the shop decided to give me the okra seeds for free. They also gave me other different seeds and also plenty garri in a big white nylon. As I was leaving, the shop owner spoke my native language and mentioned my late grandpa. He was stylishly telling me that he knows me well. I was surprised and I left the place. On my way, some of the garri was leaking from the nylon on the road. People were also looking at me as I was carrying the garri and seeds.

I have been trying to understand the meaning

As you pray for yourself, also pray for others.
There's a lot of power in intercessory prayers.

1) your first dream has alot to do with 3am (THIS IS A VERY POWERFUL HOUR in the numerology chart of spirituality... you need to be alert in prayer at this time daily for some months and you will see changes sir) .........there is an ENTITY that comes to your house at that hour.... be very vigilant in prayer and according to the vision you will send it packing. NOW, ABOUT TRYING TO MENTION THE NAME JESUS.... it means your access to UNLOCKING his name is very very weak.... NEXT TIME, don't call His name if you are not in GOOD relationship with HIM and when you make your relationship firm with our Lord Jesus... Simply THINK HIS NAME and any force around you will bow

2) ONE THING STRIKING IN THIS VISION.... you were helped by the result of your LATE grandfather's goodness to someone ..... that is help from the spirit world oh.... BUT PHYSICALLY, YOU WERE LOOSING WHAT YOU WERE GIVEN AND NO ONE HELPED YOU....

You need to pray for help... USE PSALM 51, 115 AND 91

Thanks for sharing. Very profound.

Hello house. There are two confusing dreams i keep having.

1. There is a laptop i own, but it got spoilt around 2019(hard disk issue). I tried repairing in 2021, only to notice alot of it parts aren't functioning as well. So i gave up, resolving to buy a new one.

I dreamt twice (3 months ago and few days ago) seeing the laptop booting and functioning well. I woke up, tried booting the laptop, but it wasn't working.

2. I stayed with my uncle who's a pastor in PH city around 2010, i completed my secondary school over there. Though they had a house help, I usually help out with chores.

I keep having this dream, seeing myself back in my uncle's house running errants and doing chores.

Most people would say that my second dream signifys backwardness. But sometimes dreams mean something different from what is seen.

Can i get help from holyspirit filled people in the house?

Dreams are multifaceted.
It has a lot of meanings depending on who receives it.

1. The laptop represents you. The hard-disk represents your spirit.
The crashing of the hard disk represents death- spiritual death. Life outside Christ is spiritual death.
Jesus Christ told His disciples who wanted to go back to their families- Let the dead bury the dead.
Seeing your laptop come back alive is good news. You simply need to make the right decision.

2. Your uncle is a pastor and you used to help/serve him. He represents God in the dream.
Your spirit will come alive in God's presence as you begin to serve God.

Do not delay, I pray for you that whatever took you away from God's presence has failed in Jesus name. Amen.

1. So in Isaiah 59 where God made clear that your sins made filthy all that is you to Him, you think rather than God, I made that up? undecided

Where in Isaiah 64, it clearly shows that Isaiah in fact said that sin is what makes filthy your good works, you think that I made that up instead? undecided

2. According to Jesus Christ, only those who are Holy are capable of having the Spirit of Truth aka the Holy Spirit - John 8 vs 31 - 36 & John 14 vs 15 - 23 - and since I am still seeking first the Kingdom of God(Holiness) and God's Righteousness....I am not there yet to have Him. undecided

So, do you also reject what Jesus Christ said in this case as well? undecided

Your liberty is in 2 Corinthians 3.14-18

"But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ.
But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart.
Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away.
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord."

All your questions will be answered the day you honour and receive Him.
Grace and Peace be with you.

Religion / 3 False Teachings In Today's Churches by pressplay411(m): 2:25pm On May 14, 2023
Three False Teachings In Today's Churches
-Pastor Segun Keku

Song Ministration: Open The Flood Gates in Abundance
Date: Sunday 14th May,2023
Happy Mother's Day

Some Christians choose what they want to believe in the bible. Some add their own.
They want to change the bible to fit their lifestyle instead of vice versa.

1Tim.4.1-2 Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.

The only way to test spirits is to test their teachings with the Word of God. Meaning you yourself have to study the Word.

The 3 False Teachings
1. Is it true that it is God's will that every Christian should be Healthy and Wealthy?

Yes, God promised us Peace on earth, even when we are in pain and tribulations. But God doesn't promise us to be rich and healthy at all times.
God does not promise us a perfect life on earth. That is in heaven.
You and I will have trials and tribulations in this world. John 16:33, 2 Cor 4:16-18

Concerning Health
Many people are being misled by these false teachings.
It is not all the time that sickness or poverty that is as a result of lack of faith.
God is not a Jini. Every problem doesn't just vanish because you're a Christian.

Luke.22.42 - saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done."

Emphasis on "Nevertheless, not my will but your  be done."
We can go to God for miracles and healing and blessings but it does not mean God must say Yes all the time.

Is it compulsory that God should say yes?
Some times he will say Yes.
Some times he will say No.
His No and Silence is for a reason.

When these false teachers say it is compulsory, tell them according to God's will. It is not him that runs or wills but God who shows mercy.
Keep on being renewed in the mind.

Abraham and Sarah prayed yet they had delay in child birth.
Job lost everything, was it that he did not have Faith?

Job.42.5 - "I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You.

Job was so righteous from hearing of God, He had not seen God. But God was able to boast of him.
Things got so bad that his wife shamed him and asked him to curse God.
But Job replied "I know my Redeemer Lives."

Job's problems started from chapter 2 till chaper 42 which could have lasted for years. Was it because he was not righteous or because he did not have Faith?

Before Job's trial he only heard of God, after the trials he began to see God. He then had a deeper knowledge of God and a higher Faith.

Some things will happen so that you will begin to see God.
God will be able to stand by you and single you out.
God permits some things to happen for a reason.

Pastor recounts his many challenges. He prayed many prayers without answers.
He realised that those situations have helped mould him into shape. To make him know how Great God is.

2 Cor 12:7-10 I will boast in my infirmities.

Aposple Paul prayed to God to take away the thorn in his flesh. But God did not take it away.

2Cor.12.9 - And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

The Three Hebrew brothers were thrown into fire. Their strength was made perfect in the fire.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous but the LORD delivers him from all.

When you believe in wrong doctrines, how will miracles happen?
Because the foundation of the faith is faulty.

The reason we have so much evil in the world today is because of false teachings. People no longer believe the Grace of God is sufficient for them.
If you believe, you will stay. Job stayed and said "though he slay me, yet I will trust Him."
May we not experience Job's kind of problems but everyone will face his problems.

Concerning Wealth
Are you content with what God allows/permits in your life?
When Pastor sees a situation he doesn't jump or get anxious, he follows God's direction with prayers. Everything then follows.

When the Israelites were faced with the Red Sea, Moses prayed and God told him it is time to Move Forward.
There's time to Pray and there's time to Move Forward.

It is true that God has promised us Wealth and Good Health. But at what expense?
Is it automatic?

It wasn't until Job experienced his problems that he realised that he had been hearing of God but now he sees God.

Are you greedy or content with what you have?
Be very careful with what you pray for, God knows the intention of your heart.
1 Tim 6:6-11 Be content because love of money has destroyed many.

Focus on God. Focus on eternity.
There is nothing wrong in being rich and healthy. But God is also interested in how you spend your money and health.

Ask yourself, how is God benefiting from your health and wealth presently?
Have you asked God, what can I do for you, Lord?
Have you asked the Pastor, what can you do for the church?
What's the essence of your living? Who is benefiting from your living?

2. Churches Create Extra Rules.

Eg -All Christians must speak in Tongues to be saved.
-Every one must be Baptised to be saved.

We are only saved through the Grace of God. Not by works, tongues or baptism.
Eph 2:8-10, Luke 22:39-43, Acts 2:3, 1 Cor 12:4-11, 1 Cor 14.

Rom 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

Rom.10.17 - So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Baptism and Speaking in tongues are compulsory but should not be forced on anyone. Salvation comes by Grace.
Brethren, we should not add or remove anything from the bible.
It's only the truth of the bible that can change us.
Our thoughts/senses are imperfect but the bible is perfect.

3. Hyper Grace and Law

So many churches preach this without balancing it.
They leave out God being Holy and Righteous and that He hates sin.
They teach "I can be a Christian and continue to live however I like."
They teach "God already loves me so I can continue in sin."

If you live or believe this, you are not yet a Christian. You have not had encounter with Christ.

Rom.6.15-16 What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not!
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?

You are only free from sin if you obey God in righteousness.

There are many who believe they are saved but are not saved.

To justify sin they falsify the true preaching of God.
Only the truth can change lives.
If anyone comes to give their life to Christ, it is because the Holy spirit has ministered to them, not man.

Some churches are just adding members, and not winning souls.
When someone through the preaching surrenders their life to Christ, that one will be saved.

When you add a member who is a drinker or fornicator who has not given their life to Christ,  and you don't minister to them by the Holy spirit, are they saved?

In conclusion, for salvation His Grace is sufficient for you.
It is good to Speak in Tongues and be Baptised, but that's not guarantee of salvation.

How many people have been baptised but still fornicate and drink or still under the oppression of powers and witchcraft?

It is only when the Gospel is preached in a truthful way and balanced, that is when souls will be touched to give their lives to Christ.
Not by sensual or motivational teachings like 7 keys to success, etc.
This only makes one feel good but doesn't last.
It cannot give life. Because it is not a message of salvation.

Jesus loves you. Know the Truth and He will set you free.

I remembered I told my wife about it and her mother heard and felt bad, he is my son and not theirs, I understand grandparents give their grand children names too, I have a name from my grandparents but they call me by the one my parents gave me...

What do I do house?

Both are good names by the way.
Curious, does he have a Nigerian name too?

And If you don't mind me asking;

-Why do you prefer Charles to Daniel?
-Why does it still bother you, since you already know that grandparents often do that?

A commenter here gave a good counsel- the name on your child's birth certificate is what matters. And the name you, his parents call him. Most importantly the name he identifies with.

Stop that imagination biko, it's not easy out there o . May we not move from " where should we settle " to "what are you putting on" 😄😄
It's nice when a traditional man meets a traditional woman without any trying to"change" the other. And when two modern people who are not bothered with swapping roles meet, it is great too. The goal is to be on the same page and make life better for each other.

Naturally I don't like people who talk a lot much while I may excuse it in women it is a complete turn off for me when a guy talks or complain too much cheesy . I can't last a moment with a nag, my friends knows once I sigh and ask "what do you want" it means I am a minute away from shutting them out. grin . Na why I dey fear settling down with all these guys wey go dey chochocho everytime. These ones will frustrate someone, nah them type dey do surveillance for meat inside pot. I can't deal . My Peace is very important to me.

This is a more balanced submission.
We often fall into error when we try to fit everyone into the same box.

God created us differently intentionally.
What would work for A may work for B but not work for C.
A, B !and C are perfect the way they are created. Everyone simply needs to grow into maturation.

Men are naturally created and wired to perform certain tasks more easily than women.
Women are also naturally created snd wired to perform certain tasks more effortlessly than men.

Do these some times overlap, certainly and for a good reason.

When we come to this understanding, we won't set expectations myopically. We will observe people's natural strengths and weaknesses and deal with them on that level.

Some ladies are more tech savvy and even mechanical than some guys.
Some guys are more delicate than some ladies.

But my favorite category, are balanced.
They can both handle tech savvy, mechanically, delicate and more.

Know this will help us deal with each accordingly and get along just well.

PS: You seem to be a budding women right's activist. Am I right?
There's a fine line and a good difference between that and feminism.

Nairaland / General / Re: Why The Igbo Almost Always Ends Up With The Short End Of The Stick. by pressplay411(m): 4:46am On May 12, 2023
zoedew:
Baba Chinua Achebe famously said concerning the Igbo:
“I will be the first to concede that the Igbo as a group is not without its flaws. Its success can and did carry deadly penalties: the dangers of hubris, overweening pride, and thoughtlessness, which invite envy and hatred or, even worse, than can obsess the mind with material success and dispose it to all kinds of crude showiness. There is no doubt at all that there is a strand in contemporary Igbo behavior that can offend by its noisy exhibitionism and disregard for humility and quietness.”
So long as the Igbo fail to deal with the above problem they will have problems of acceptance EVERYWHERE!

I have so much to share with the broken igbo.
It is not any tribe or nation that is fighting the igbos.
It is God himself.

It is a sad and fearful thing when God, our loving father fights some one, talk less of a nation/tribe/people.

The earlier igbos reaalise this, the earlier their salvation, deliverance and restoration.

It's painful to watch a great people suffer.
It's a similitude of watching Israel as a nation suffer.

May God Almighty have mercy and deliver us all.
Because the word of God is true and faithful- God
resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Every individual and every nation has some element of pride and we are all meant to grow in humility.
But until one comes to this knowledge, they are blinded to the fact.

May God unveil us and deliver us all in Jesus name. Amen

Kobojunkie:
1. I see. There is no mention that the Holy Spirit first rested on any of the men listed before they became righteous. So, my question still stands. And Jesus Christ was not available to those of the Old Covenant since the contract He represents applies specifically to the sinners of Israel of which the OT righteous men are not a part of. Jesus Christ said this severally that He came to call the sinners to repentance and not the righteous. So, again, Scripture has it that before Jesus Christ showed up with the Kingdom of God, the following people were able to attain God's righteousness without the Holy Spirit working it for them, people like Moses, Jacob, Isaac, Joseph, Isaiah, Abraham, Abel, Noah, Job, David, Jonah, Obadiah, Anna, Zechariah( and his wife Elizabeth), Joseph(father of Jesus Christ), Joseph of Arimathea, Zaccheus, etc. So, my question to you is when you say no flesh can meet God's standard of righteousness, what exactly do you mean by that? Expound on this idea so I better understand what you are in fact driving at. undecided

2. As for the verse you quoted from Paul's epistle, I am not certain what that verse has to do with righteousness. Or can you explain why you felt it necessary to include that verse in this? undecided

Something else I noticed from your response is that you all but conclude that the Spirit Paul in fact spoke of in chapter 8 of his epistle to the Romans is the Holy Spirit but Paul never mentions the term Holy Spirit, so why assume the spirit in question is the Spirit of Truth aka the Holy Spirit? undecided

Can you mention the verse you're referring to? Is it Hebrew 6?
Religion / Re: Pray Always, Never Lose Hope In Prayer by pressplay411(m): 8:45am On May 10, 2023
Kobojunkie:
According to Jesus Christ, there are two Spirits. The first is the Spirit of Life aka Eternal Life also the one who sinners born of when we become born-again. Then you have the Spirit of Truth aka the Holy Spirit who only inhabits those who are Holy/Perfect vessels --- recall Jesus Christ urged His followers to become Holy even as God Himself is Holy --- worthy of God Himself. Both of them belong to God since they are the same Spirits that live inside of Jesus Christ-- the way, the Truth and the Life -- and they each serve different purposes in the life of His followers. undecided

I've answered this already, only God can explain Trinity's to anyone. I can't.

John.3.8 - The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."

Can you explain how this applies to you?
Religion / Re: Pray Always, Never Lose Hope In Prayer by pressplay411(m): 8:11am On May 10, 2023
Kobojunkie:

Or can you explain why you felt it necessary to include that verse in this? undecided

Something else I noticed from your response is that you all but conclude that the Spirit Paul in fact spoke of in chapter 8 of his epistle to the Romans is the Holy Spirit but Paul never mentions the term Holy Spirit, so why assume the spirit in question is the Spirit of Truth aka the Holy Spirit? undecided

Are you born again?
Religion / Re: Pray Always, Never Lose Hope In Prayer by pressplay411(m): 8:03am On May 10, 2023
Both of them belong to God since they are the same Spirits that live inside of Jesus Christ-- the way, the Truth and the Life -- and they each serve different purposes in the life of His followers. undecided

So, how does this answer the questions I asked you? undecided

I thought I replied this yesterday. Guess I didn't send.
To answer you question concerning the Spirit in Old testament and new testament.

In the old testament the Holy Spirit could only rest on man because Jesus was not yet glorified.

After the Crucifixion, death, Burial and Ressurection of Jesus Christ, the perfect Atonement for sin was made.

Now the Holyspirit can indwell man.

Rom.3.23-26 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

Eph.1.13 - In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,
Who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.

1. Before we run away with your many other theories, let's consider your first claim to better understand what exactly it is you are saying here. Scripture has it that before Jesus Christ showed up with the Kingdom of God, the following people were able to attain God's righteousness without the Holy Spirit working it for them, people like Moses, Jacob, Isaac, Joseph, Isaiah, Abraham, Abel, Noah, Job, David, Jonah, Obadiah, Anna, Zechariah( and his wife Elizabeth), Joseph(father of Jesus Christ), Joseph of Arimathea, Zaccheus, etc. So, my question to you is when you say no flesh can meet God's standard of righteousness, what exactly do you mean by that? The summary of your questions is simple:

What's the difference between the Spirit of God and the Holy Spirit?

Only the understanding of Trinity can help you here, not me. God bless you and grant us all understanding in Jesus name. Amen
Religion / Re: Pray Always, Never Lose Hope In Prayer by pressplay411(m): 4:44am On May 09, 2023
Kobojunkie:
1. The Father Himself is the one who determines if one has attained His standard of righteousness and when. To qualify one must be born-again and have the proof that Jesus Christ said all who are would have. Afterward, one is then to seek first the Kingdom of God(Holiness) and then God's righteousness. Both are attained by continuing to live one's life in submission and obedience of the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ- John 8 vs 31 - 36 & John 14 vs 15 - 23 & John 15 vs 7 - 11. undecided

2. God notifies those who Have Him living on the inside of them of His decision. undecided

You've spoken well. However, you have spoken as if a Pharisee.
By this your standard, God will only answer the prayer of Jesus Christ alone and no other human being.

But for the benefit of those who will read this and whose motive is truly right, let me explain.

1. No flesh can meet God's standard of righteousness which is why you're half right. However half truth can also be a lie.

This is why a believer has the gift of the Holyspirit.
Rom.8.26 - Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

2. There are two levels of righteousness.
- Imputed righteousness which is what every believer has simply by believing God. From the moment you repent and accept Jesus Christ as your LORD and Savior, you have become righteous before God.
In fact this is how the bible describes us in 2Cor.5.21 -
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

-Righteousness by Sanctification
This comes as we walk with God in Obedience to the leading of the Holyspirit and the Word of God.

This second level is where you may have been referring to. And yes, it is necessary for every believer to grow from imputed righteousness to living righteously as we come to know Christ, as we come to know the likes and dislikes, loves and hates of God.
As we come to know who we are in Christ. (Hebrew 6:1-6)

When a true believer reaches this level, that is where Jesus said, up till now we have not asked him in his name.

John.16.24 - Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

In conclusion, the best prayers for a believer are speaking in tongues and the Lord's prayer, and as led.

Eph.6.18 - praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints.

The Walk of a Christian is a growth process- from Believer to Disciple to Christian. God help us all in this Walk in Jesus name. Amen

Kobojunkie:
Scripture states that God does not answer the prayers of the unrighteous; the pleas and requests and every petition of the unrighteous are tainted by their sins(disobedience/unholiness) and are hence an abomination to God. So, what is definite is that even your many pleas for the forgiveness of sins are not answered by God given that God made no special exemptions for that kind of pleas. No amount of praying can cause God to change His mind regarding that which concerns the unrighteous by the way. So if you are thinking of prescribing more prayers that only means you really don't understand or know God at all. undecided

God, however, openly bragged about how He only answers the prayers of the righteous; He delights in granting them the desires of their heart meaning that they are those who are loved by Him. For this very reason, Jesus Christ urged His followers to seek first the Kingdom of God and God's Righteousness in order that all things— the blessings and rewards of the Kingdom of God(holiness), answers to prayers included—shall be added on to them. And as Jesus Christ explained in His Gospel, the only way to become Holy, and then also Righteous, is by way of continuous submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ, god's Truth and Law in the Kingdom of god - John 8 vs 31 - 36 & John 14 vs 15 - 23. Jesus Christ is the only way. Obedience to the Truth of God is the one and only path to righteousness. No amount of praying and other religious rituals can accomplish that. undecided

You need to understand the meaning of the word "amiss" in order to realize what James was instead trying to tell you in that verse that you pulled from his epistle. If you consult Webster's dictionary, you will find that the word means to be in an imperfect state, a state that is not in the right order aka unrighteous. What James was saying in that verse is that the reason you do not receive from God is that you are asking in an unrighteous state—a state that is not in accordance with God's mandate of righteousness. So, clearly, you cannot benefit anything from remaining in an unrighteous state as far as God is concerned. That is what God said, and James reiterated it in that verse there. undecided

What qualifies someone as righteous?
At what stage can you call yourself righteous?

Today's Message: Power Of Influence In The Life Of A Christian
By Pastor Segun Keku

In other words- How to know if someone is sent from God or from the devil.

The people around you that you spend time with will either influence you positively or negatively.
We get better by godly influence. And worse by bad influences.

When you give your life to Christ, it is expected that your circle of friends should change.

1Cor.11.1 - Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.

Choose your friends by their values. Is it godly or worldly?

Some people are sent into your life by the Holy Spirit to help you live righteously.
These are Friends that will tell you the consequences of going into sin.
They encourage you to pray and fast.
The encourage you in spiritual exercise.
Not friends that will tell you about football or betting, or bad habits etc.

The world has Influencers.
The Holy spirit is the influencer of the Believer.

And He will use people to influence you.
Such Good Friends are not many.

Friends sent by the devil will encourage you to do evil and discourage you when you want to do the right thing.

They are the ones that will tell you the latest joints, clubs, etc.
If you dont wake up, the damage they would have caused would be irreparable.

They will make you worse than you were.
They are friends that spend their time gossiping.

There are some people you don't have business with even in your family.
If someone encourages you to lie, drink, smoke, consult oracles for power, do divination, consult astrology, commit fornication/adultery, etc, avoid them.

Beware of Spiritual manipulation.
It is important to have the Spirit of the LORD. The Holyspirit will cancel their evil manipulations easily.
Beware of fast trackers. What you get too quick will also go quickly.

We are at the end times. Evil, death, terrible things will be on the increase. Teenagers will be rebellious. But our teenagers will not be among them in Jesus name.

Do not open your self to attack. The moment you go to see a seer and he has spoken, you have opened the door of your life to them for manipulations.

This morning whoever the devil may have sent to your life, the LORD will drive them out in Jesus name. Amen.

1Kgs.21.25 - But there was no one like Ahab who sold himself to do wickedness in the sight of the LORD, because Jezebel his wife stirred him up.

Jezebel was sent by the devil to Ahab.
Likewise Job's wife.
It is possible that a wife/husband is sent by the devil into the life of a husband.
When devil sends someone on a mission, they are targeting your neck, how to destroy you.

Ahab listened to Jezebel and was destroyed.
Job did not listen to his wife and he lived.

Be sensitive who you listen to.
Do you only listen to the rich?
Do you listen to prophets?

1 Kjngs 13:11-25
Even though the young prophet was strong not to listen to the King but he listened to the old prophet against God's instruction and he died.

Are you sure God sent that person or the devil?

Any thing your pastor tells you, if it is not in the bible, don't do it.
Pastors will be judged. Everyone will be judged. But do not let them destroy your life.

When you listen to bad influences over good influences you will lose God's Presence.
There are things can you do that will drive the Holy Spirit away from you.

Who is the person the devil has sent into your life?

Do not believe the lies that
"I can hang around people and not be influenced by them."
Or "I can't fall for their Pressure."

It is not possible.
There is no spiritual Superman.
There's no relationship between Light and Darkness.
No matter how righteous you are, if you find yourself alone with a woman, flee!!!
The demon inside them is greater than them.

How can a pastor still have a prophet outside his organisation?
There should be no middle man between You and God. God wants to speak and deal with you directly.

Avoid pessimistic people who always have something negative to say, without faith.

1Thess.5.14 - Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.

It is greed when you want to amass what God did not give you.
Be okay with what God gives you.
Why do we forget easily?
Remember how God has helped you.
Do you Trust God to still help you?
"I urge you. In every situation, Wait on the LORD."

Anyone that brings you down or makes you lose hope is from the devil. Avoid them.
Be careful what people say to you before you believe.

A good prophet/pastor has the Word of Hope.
Like Moses, when there was no way forward for the Israelites, he heard from God, "Move Forward."

Job.14.7 - "For there is hope for a tree, If it is cut down, that it will sprout again, And that its tender shoots will not cease.

Be sensitive of those who bring division in a gathering.

Check the Fruit they bear.
Matt.7.15-18 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.
You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?
Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.
A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.

It takes some body that is walking and producing the Fruit of the Spirit to walk and produce the Fruit of the Spirit.
Look out for Character and Virtue.
Don't relate with people based on tribe or riches, status.
You can only be my Friend if you know Chriist and you Fear God. Not by how much money you have.
I prefer to be poor and know God.
Yet, to have money and still have the fear of God is better.

May the LORD separate you from every demonic and satanic influence in Jesus name. Holy Spirit will block them in Jesus name. Amen.
Religion / Walking In The Path Of The Cross by pressplay411(m): 4:59am On May 05, 2023
The topic before us is- Walking in the Path of the Cross.

I am way too inadequate to teach on this.
But I thank the ministers who have been praying.
And I know we serve a God that answers prayers.
I will like to remind us what this is all about.
Our theme remains:
Understanding Glory and Virtue

What correlation exists between Walking in the Path of the Cross and Understanding Glory and Virtue?

Since the first day we decided to Understand Glory and Virtue, some thing happened.
WE TOUCHED GOD'S HEART.

And he has answered us. Just as he answered Daniel.
Just as he answered Solomon.

And He has by His Precious Holy Spirit led us on this journey of Understanding Glory and Virtue.
This is why I had to specially recognise and honor the Ministers who have been mightily used for this herculean task.
Yet by the Holy Spirit, it has seemed effortless.
Simply because they yielded.

Yielding to the Holy Spirit is simply what it's all about.
Walking in the Path of the Cross is a test of our Yieldedness.
A test of our Faith.
A test of our Trust.
A test we MUST pass.

The question becomes.
What does it mean to be yielded?
What does it mean to yield?

Yield
1. To give way; to allow another to pass first.
2. To give as required; to surrender, relinquish or capitulate.
3. To give way; to succumb to a force.
4. To produce as return, as from an investment.
5. To produce as a result.

Our will is all we have to yield.
I repeat, Our will is all we have to yield

I asked a question the previous time.

Is it not curious that Our LORD and Saviour has finished the works, finished the promise,
He has corrected the error of the First Adam,
He has done all the hard work,
He has fulfilled His ministry, been crucified, died, been buried and ressurected,
He has conquered Satan and all his wisdom,
He has restored all the Authority in Heaven and Earth.
He has begged the Father to give us the Holy Spirit,
He has given us the Apostles and the Ministry Gifts,
He has Given us the Bible through Missionaries,
He has endured such long suffering and patience,

Yet, only very few in the annals of the kingdom have seen the manifest presence of this restored glory?

We should ask ourselves questions.
We should burn with Holy Anger.
We should not want another day go by with us living short of the glory of God.
We should ask what is responsible.
God loves it when we ask Him questions.
He wants us to reason with Him.

Which Father is not happy to see his son curious about everything he has put in place for him?

Which Teacher is not happy to meet students who desire to be the best at their studies?

Which Boss is not Happy to see staff who align with the goals and objectives of the organisation?

God is not the problem. He has done all that needs to be done.
What then is the problem?
The enemy has done this.
And unfortunately, we partnered with him. Albeit, ignorantly.

Satan is the enemy. We must never forget this.
Satan hates you and I unconditionally.
Satan is the father of lies.
We must never forget this.
We must always remember this.
Satan will mislead us and then deny us. Push all the blame on us.

Why?
Because his weapon is simple.
His weapon is our lusts.

Lust of the eyes.
Lust of the flesh.
Pride of life.

As long as we have these 3. We cannot walk into the Glory

The journey in the Path of the Cross is to exfoliate this lusts. This evil passions. This vain desires.

The irony is some of us are already offended about the idea of losing our lusts and desires.

Who has bewitched us?
I was a heavy drinker.
Sexually perverse.
Coarsely vulgar.
Proud of my uniqueness.
I wanted to be the best musician/rapper in the world.
I admired so much the glory of the world.
This made me selfish.
Made me easily envious
Made me greedy.
Made me want to sleep with the hottest girl in the room. Just for the fun of it.
It was so bad that even married women would want to sleep with me cos in the Spirit realm, I belonged to Satan.

So we attracted one another.
Just the same way Christians born of the Spirit attract one another.

We need to know that our lusts are destructive.
Until we know this, we will hold on to them with our dear lives.

Yet this is what is keeping us from the Truth. From Eternal Life. From Glory.

All we need is Humility.
We need to let God teach us humility as we yield to His leading.
Following Christ is why we are saved.

The early disciples had Jesus Christ.
We have the Holy Spirit.

We must train ourselves to learn how to know the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Following the Leading of the Holy Spirit is how we Follow Christ.

The Glorified Christ is the Person of the Holy Spirit.
How do we train ourselves to know the leading of the Holy Spirit?

Through adequate Discipleship.

We need to know who the Holy Spirit leads us to.

Which Local assembly (church) should we worship in.

If there's a foundation class there- we need to humble ourselves to learn afresh as if we are hearing of Christ for the first time.

We need to know what this decision will cost us.
Because we will lose friends.
We will be antagonised by many.
We will face persecutions.
We will change our ways.

All this is not going to be by our own efforts.
We simply have to obey His leadings.

We simply have to be humble and obedient, trusting God with our wholeheart.

When we Trust God. That is the first level of Faith.
When God can Trust us, that is the true height of  Faith.

The Walk in the Cross is how God will test our Faith to know if it is genuine or conditional, or pretense, or selfish, or materialistic, etc.

I conclude with this.

1. Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior did not keep us in the dark about this.
The template is there in Matthew 5. The Beatitudes.

2. The end result is likewise there. In Galatians 5. The Fruit of the Spirit. And Gifts as we grow.

We have to allow ourselves to grow. And this is where Patience is.

James.1.2-4
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials
knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

May we truly come to be Perfect and Complete in Christ.
Thank you all and God help us in this walk.

A DAY IS COMING
Anchor verse:
Mal.4.1 - "For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up," Says the LORD of hosts, "That will leave them neither root nor branch.

A day we should be afraid of or be glad to see.
To some a day of sorrow, crying, loss of properties, regret. death, end of everything.
To some a day of joy, laughter, Victory, vindication, eternal life, beginning of new life..

Ps.90.12 - So teach us to number our days, That we may gain a heart of wisdom.

2 Cor 4:7-18 Earthly vs Eternal.
2Cor.4.17-18 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,
while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Muslims are ready to die for the eternal. But the average modern Christian is more concerned about material possessions.

Two Most important days we should be conscious of;
-The day you will die.
-The day Christ will come.

Matt.6.33 - But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

What the Pastor is teaching, does it make you see Jesus or the beauty of the pastor and the church?

Mal.3.2 - "But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner's fire And like launderers' soap.

Joel.2.31-32 The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the LORD.
And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, As the LORD has said, Among the remnant whom the LORD calls.

2Pet.3.7-8 But the heavens and the earth which are now preserved by the same word, are reserved for fire until the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

What are pastors preaching in the church?
Can the earthly powers see the Power of God in your church?
Are you taking your Christian Life seriously?

Whatever sin you engage in you will wish that day never came.
If you live in Christ, you will rejoice on the Day.

Do not let the death of Christ be in vain over your life.
He has paid all the price for you.
There's still room for you to repent.
Don't let the devil deceive you.
Come to the Lord and say you're sorry, before it is too late.

God will give you every good thing at his own time. But more importantly God wants to give you heaven.

A day is coming that your name will change to- Dead Body.

Mark.8.36 - For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?
Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?

Are you ready for that Day?
There's no way you can be ready if you're in sin.
Pray "LORD, haave Mercy."

Don't be deceived, earth is not our home.
Devil uses forgetfulness. Never forget there was a time you were a baby.

Where will you go with your unforgiveness?
Churches should prepare people for eternity.
Imagine someone stealing from the bank to pay tithe.
Tithe is willingly, not by force.
Blessed are the Cheerful givers.
Give to God and Give to man cheerfully

Pray "Father help me, prepare me for the Day of reckoning. Change my heart."

The Day of damnation and sorrow to some is going to be The Day of Joy for some others.

Before death, your eyes will open. But by then it will be too late to pray.

There's Time for everything, money can't help you.
As a believer, if you want your prayers to be answered, have the Fear of God.

A Day is coming.
Do not forget the ancient gospel of the disciples that made believers ready to die for the kingdom of God.

The LORD will help us.
That Day will be a day of joy and happiness for you and I. And not be a day of sadness or regret in Jesus name. Amen.
