Welcome to part 5 of this thread. Old things must pass away, and new things take effect!n (Although the info in Parts 1, 2 3 and 4 remain priceless and Must/Ought to be read by any serious applicant.Part 2 was wonderful. Lots of lovely people offering great advice. Each in their own unique style. You guys rock!!! You know yourselves.

For sample transcripts of some interviews (as posted by the users of this thread) Please check this link https://www.nairaland.com/download/4692218

Finally, Lying on your ds 160 or during the interview is misrepresentation and a crime. This thread's aim is not to teach / coach applicants on how to lie. The truth is ALWAYS the best course of action no matter the situation. Please DO NOT ask about how to misrepresent on this thread.

I'm grateful to God that I am alive to create this new part. And for the several friends I have made hereon.

Thank you.

in my search for cheap flights to usa, i came across egyptian airline....seems to be tyhe cheapest at 1.25m to washington. anybody has experience with them?......i recall a post where someone was questioned about his trip to egypt by POE officers....when his was just a stopover
if you transit in Egypt with Egyptair, your passport will not be stamped since you did not leave the International Airside.
Egyptair is not really bad, expect no luxury, getting to U.S is the most important thing and I can assist with cheap ticket although with the exchange rates you won't find any cheap ticket nowadays.

Good day great people. Please I need guidance. I have a valid Schengen visa on a passport that will expire in October. I just got my US visa on my new passport. I will be travelling in July to Europe and travel to America from Europe.
How do I handle the passport presentation to immigration officers in Nigeria, Europe and America? Do I have to present the 2 to Immigration guys in Naija and in Europe? When leaving Europe, do I have to present the two?
Please your advice is required. Preferably someone that had similar experience.
Thanks
You mean you have 2 active Nigeria passport or 2 different passport from 2 different countries?

ABUJA TO LAGOS ON VALUEJET

I flew on Valuejet Airline from Abuja to Lagos on their Bombardier CRJ-900 Aircraft, Valuejet is a new airline that commences flight operation on 10th October, 2022 with flights to Abuja, Port Harcourt, Asaba and Jos. The Airline was founded in 2018 by Kunle Soname, the Chairman of the sports betting website Bet9ja and owner of Portuguese football club C.D. Feirense
Overall, it was an excellent flight and I'm looking forward to flying with them again.

Please can someone that travelled recently confirm this?

Depending on the Airline, they will request for Covid test at the transit country but CBP won't request for it in U.S.A

Good evening house.
Please I need a very urgent answer to this question.
I have my visit visa interview tomorrow and my relative who has a valid visit visa said they are going to follow me to my interview and talk to the visa officer with me.
Is this actually possible?

How old are you? I'll advise you to take their visa along for your interview.

Check very well to be sure you're not using any of the unauthorized characters and try again. You may also log out and retry on another browser, esp Google chrome. Always use Google chrome only , when filling out your DS160

Honestly I've never used google chrome for any ds160... I prefer Firefox

UWC. The covid-19 was a good reason not to travel during that period. The entire globe was affected by the pandemic in one way or the other as everyone had a story to tell. I was one of those who narrowly escaped covid-19's arm of death. I was an index case. I infected my beautiful family as well but we all came out of it through God's mercies. I had never been so sick in my life. Everything just changed within 3 days with collapsed lungs. I was already praying to God to forgive my sins cos no sign of improvement despite all the prescribed drugs taken, kai. I shared the horrible experience on NL sometime ago. I renewed my German Shengen visa late 2019, thinking I'd use it in 2020, alas!. Till it expired late 2021, I couldn't use it due to same reason. I hope I'd not be on a hot seat by the time I go back there to renew. Good luck to you.

We thank God for your life... stay strong bro.

Good day Nairalanders, Please, can you provide me with answers to both questions below:

1. I just received my I-20 document and I need to pay the SEVIS Fee to book a visa appointment. I tried to use WesternUnion, but it appears that Nigerians in Nigeria are not allowed to make payments via WesternUnion. Please how do I make this SEVIS Fee payment here in Nigeria.

2. Can payments for flight tickets to the US from Nigeria be made in Naira (If yes what rate is usually used) or it must be in USD?

Thank you for the anticipated feedback!!

If you have someone in the U.S they can help with payment.
I can assist with flight ticket to the U.S.

Submitted my passport for IW on March 23rd and status has finally changed to APPROVED today, Tuesday, May 2nd. Does anyone have any idea how long it will take for me to get my passport? I have a visa appointment on Friday, May 5th and wondering if I will have to reschedule it. Any ideas?
After Approved you will have to wait for it to change to Issue, then it will be transfer to DHL, So expect between 2-4 weeks.

You should have attended the conference alone, it's a business trip... when you return you can apply for your family. The V.O is not convinced you will return to Nigeria with your family, you're going for U.S Visa interview for the first time with your main ''ties''

segsdynamic:
I had my B1/B2 interview yesterday 18th Apr and my visa was denied along with my wife and my 3yrs old baby.

Location: U.S embassy Lagos

Our interview timing scheduled for 7:30 a.m we reach embassy around 5:45am, soon the security screening started and people started lining up according to the timing slot. We were lined up and like 70 other applicant were in front of us. But due to the fact that we had a baby, the security guys gave us expedite service and we were brought to the front row for the security check.

Fast forward getting to the interview hall. Also many applicants were aiidy lined up. Again they gave us expedite services and we were lined up to the front when they want to check our documents. The guy collected our passport and after checking all our docs. He asked me hw old is our baby and I said 2 n half years old, he then insert a pink carbon paper inside my baby's passport that we can show them on the next queue so they will attend to us fast.

Again they place us in the front to have our biometric. It was a white woman who did our biometric, and told us my baby won't need to do biometric .. but my baby insist she wanna do biometric and started disturbing us.

Now, after biometric and again they took us to counter window 5. It was a black America lady.
She approves the 2 guys in front of us for F1 visa.

Interview proper.
VO: Good morning, hw are you
Me and My Wife: Fine...Thank you (with a little smile)
VO: Ur passport pls
Me: (gave all our 3 passports)
VO: (first question asking me) have you travelled before?
Me: Yes, have been to India and Dubai.
VO: (she asked my wife the same question)
My wife: Yes, have been to Dubai and Oman

VO: why are you travelling to the United states
Me: I'm going to the United state for the 2023 Midwest Travel Network conference which is coming up in Kansas city...and as a travel Manager in my company.. my company is sending me for....(VO cuts in)

VO: Midwest what?
Me: Midwest Travel Network conference, and I try to expatiate on it further. (keeps typing)

VO: who is sponsoring you?
Me: my company will be sponsoring my trip and I will sponsor my wife and my kids

VO: is company sponsoring ur family also?
Me: No, I will be responsible for my wife and my kid.

VO: how long will you be staying?
Me: 2 weeks

VO keeps typing... for another 1-2mins and turns to my wife.
VO: What do you do?
My wife: I have a restaurant which I run and I have some staffs there
VO: (keeps typing) and ask my wife again
are you seeking any medical attention.
My wife: No...
VO: You are not going for any medical attention?
We both answer together: NO
VO: keeps typing again for long time......

VO: Sorry but you are not qualified at this time
She hands us the blue paper (214B)

Me: Thanks and we left.

Note: we have all documents intact all letters from my company, payment receipt for the conference, invitation letter, bank statement both company and my personal statement.
She didn't give us any chance to present any of the documents.

What really went wrong in case of another time.
