Hello

You may not be allowed to board because your passport expires less than 6months from your travel date. My advise is that you renew your Nigerian PASSPORT. This doesn't affect your US visa but you would need BOTH passport when travelling since the visa is on the old passport.
Hope this helps.

It doesn't matter for Nigerian, the only thing is that CBP would stamp the remaining months on your passport as your validity instead of the standard 6 months.

Guys please what’s with the covid test requirement for traveling? I want to visit the US Next month and I understand i am required to get a covid negative test before boarding. Can I buy my ticket before doing the test? What if the test is yet to be processed on my travel date? Or do I wait till i get the result before buying tickets?

You can get your ticket anytime but you must do your test at least 72 hours before your flight, as for ticket, I can assist... ask around.

Good day house, please I'm going for a Conference in U.S between August 16 -19. The Conference is Offshore Technology Conference in Houston Texas. Please I'll like to ask the following questions:
>What are the likely questions the VO will ask me?
>What are the documents I'm to take with me for the Visa interview?
>Does this Conference also falls under the B1/B2 Visa category?
*NOTE: I'm using a travelling agent and they have already booked a date for me in Abuja february 2*

Not sure any physical conference is going to take place in U.S till summer. I'm not sure they will issue you any visa.

Thank you for your response.
My last visa expired in 2019.
Please for clarification are you saying the embassy is closed for All b1/b2 visas now or are you saying it’s closed to those who just want to get a new MRV and a new appointment date. Cos on this thread people have been saying they booked appointment for b1/b2. Please can someone clarify this? Thanks a lot.

Dates are available probably not what you wanted.

Good day everyone,
Happy new year,
I have been trying to follow up on the b1/b2 visa application. On the Embassy website it Says they are processing only limited number of b1/b2 visas. I read through this thread and didn’t see anything on the question I’m about to ask.
My question is:
1) I’ve been going to the us since 2009 for holidays. I’m trying to renew my US visa for holidays.
I didn’t have a previous appointment , are they taking new appointments? Can I apply newly? Abi what do they mean by limited??
2) early in 2020 my sister was going to renew but she wanted to attend a conference and the interview (for March) was cancelled due to COVID.
Is she going to wait for the embassy to contact her to change her appointment? Or will she schedule an appointment herself.
Also, the conference has been cancelled. Should she fill another DS-160 form changing her purpose of travel to holiday? Hope this change of purpose or travel won’t raise a red flag. She’s had several us visas. Some she didn’t even use at all.
But na US and one must calculate well.
Can the gurus in the house help?
1) Not sure if it's still the same system you used in 2009, what you need to do now is pay the visa fees and visit ceac.state.gov and ustraveldocs.com to fill the ds160 form and schedule a new appointment with the embassy (Embassy is closed for Non-Immigrant visa interview as at now)
2) I doubt if any conference would take place in U.S for now, she can apply to visit U.S for tourism/visit, since she's not a first time traveler, I'm sure that ''reason'' won't pose a problem.

Greetings from Toledo, OH! I left naija on Wednesday the 16th from MMIA, Lagos. Flew KLM through Amsterdam to Detroit. Arrived here around 1:19pm local time. The flight to Amsterdam was about 6hrs. KLM served us better jollof rice with diced fried plantain & chicken, they also gave us breakfast we would eat during our layover at Amsterdam. After the 5hrs layover it was time for boarding again, this time it was Delta airline. Flew 8hrs to Detroit.
Poe went thus:
He beckoned on me to come forward.
Him: hello
Me: hello (with smiles) I gave him my passport
Him: look to that screen over there & take off your mask, it will capture you. I did as he directed
Him: please pass me your sevis. I gave him the sevis receipt, lol
Him: what about the other document, i20 I meant to say sorry. So I gave him the i20
Him: what school are you going to?
Me: WIU for my masters degree
Him: great! You’ll be here for how long?
Me: 2years as my program is for 23 months
Him: do you have any fresh vegetables, meat products?
Me: no I don’t
Him: stamps me in and said do have a lovely stay here in America
I moved over to pick my luggage & was about going out when I was directed to the other side for agricultural check.
I thought since I already told the first guy that I don’t have meat products I won’t be checked again, lol.
They were 5 of them there, 3men & 2 women
First man: do you have fresh meat, pork, fresh vegetables, garden eggs? No I don’t
Him: so what do you have here? Peanuts, dried fish & some local spices.
So they searched & brought out everything from my 2 bags. They saw my small kilishi inside the Ghana-must-go bag‍♀️
Second guy: where did you come from, how is Lagos? How long have you been in Nigeria. Told him I’ve lived there all my life. So this is your first international trip. I said yes.
Him: I thought you said you have no meat
Me: he (pointing to the other officer) asked me for fresh meat & I don’t have that
Him: ok we don’t accept any meat products here. Next time you make a list of all the food items you’re bringing in & give it to the guy that stamps you in, do you understand? There’s usually a penalty for bringing in prohibited foodstuffs. It can be from $300-$1000. Do you understand?
Me:yes sir, thank you.
He saw calendars while checking the other luggage that had my clothes. He asked what it was for & I told him they were for my sis
Him: you have a sis here? Is she coming to pick you up?
Me: yes, she stays in Ohio, Toledo precisely
Him: which school are you going to? Why did you pick that school?
I just told him the school offers my program & I’m interested in an ongoing research. He gave me a thumps up & told me to pack my things back into my bags & enjoy my stay

I wish you the best during your stay in U.S and please be very careful... Covid-19 is real.

Do they still grant spousal visa immediately after marriage or how does it work. She has never been married and she is in her 30s. I love her and I want to start a family with her so we can pursue the American dream together. She has is originally from Puerto Rico very beautiful woman. Really beautiful! I never spoke to her after then.

But thru a mutual friend of ours , she never denied most of what was in the transcript. She claimed she was scared and did not know what the situation was with us at the POE, hence her reason for telling them all these stuffs.

Still doesn't make sense to me though. Just had to let go and let God

I'm so sorry about your ordeals, I think the solution is to travel extensively to different tourist spot around the world before re-applying for U.S Visa, did they cancel your visa or it was a voluntary deportation?

Turkish Airline Abj-Instabul-Atlanta.

Flight from Abuja was uneventful, there was no meal just bread and cake twice. Layover was 9hrs40mins at Instabul and I had the choice of going site seeing or free hotel room, I choose the hotel and was given a double room sef. Managed to get proper meal for free of course at the beautiful hotel we were put in, with an amazing view. I will try and attach pictures.
Flight to Atlanta was for 3.50pm and we checked out at 12pm, took about 30 minutes to get to the airport. Passport control etc took less than 30
All in all I spent less than 15 minutes at passport control and the agriculture check so it was pretty fast.
Thank you all for all your contributions and answering our questions.

Nice one... Thank God for journey mercies...

June 22, 2020 Proclamation 10052 Suspends Entry of Certain H, J, and L Nonimmigrants

On June 22, 2020, the President issued Proclamation 10052 titled Proclamation Suspending Entry of Aliens Who Present a Risk to the U.S. Labor Market Following the Coronavirus Outbreak. Effective June 24, 2020, the proclamation suspends "entry into the United States of any alien seeking entry pursuant to any of the following nonimmigrant visas" until December 31, 2020, subject to section 3 of the proclamation:

"an H-1B or H-2B visa, and any alien accompanying or following to join such alien;"
"a J visa, to the extent the alien is participating in an intern, trainee, teacher, camp counselor, au pair, or summer work travel program, and any alien accompanying or following to join such alien;"
"an L visa, and any alien accompanying or following to join such alien"

Section 3(a) states, however, that the suspension will only be applied to individuals who:

"(i) is outside the United States on the effective date of this proclamation;

(ii) does not have a nonimmigrant visa, of any of the classifications specified in section 2 of this proclamation and pursuant to which the alien is seeking entry, that is valid on the effective date of this proclamation; and

(iii) does not have an official travel document other than a visa (such as a transportation letter, an appropriate boarding foil, or an advance parole document) that is valid on the effective date of this proclamation or issued on any date thereafter that permits him or her to travel to the United States and seek entry or admission."

The June 29, 2020 amendment clarified that the exception at Section 3(a)(ii) of Proclamation 10052 applies only to individuals with a valid H, J, or L visa who seek admission to the United States in one of those categories. For example, an individual outside the United States wishing to enter the United States in H-1B status who had valid B-2 visa but not a valid H-1B visa would be subject to the proclamation and would not be eligible for an H-1B visa. The proclamation also extends until the end of the year the April 22, 2020 proclamation suspending entry of certain immigrants.

I was wrong and at the same time, the Executive Order did not affected Africa Countries at all, the problem is with closed airspace in Africa.

most of those flights are cargo flight.
