Try another country.... U.S is not the only tourist destination.

The series of latest developments might have prompted the US embassy in Lagos to shut down Lagos office as a control measure, especially after WHO declared the virus global pandemic on Wednesday.
My people, pls how true is this information? And how do I reschedule my interview date?

Why do we keep doing this to ourselves? US Embassy in Lagos was not closed due to Corona virus, if you read the message you would know how to go about rescheduling your interview date.

Good day everyone. I need your view/ advice in my preparation for my us visa interview in some wks time.
Hubby has applied twice and been denied as a result of showcasing a strong ties in the us for returning back to Nigeria. What are the likely questions that I should look out for from the consular

Hello Cinammon. my congratulations to you. Wish I was in your shoes with the whole process already successfully behind me smiley
I will be applying together with my wife. Did your husband act as your sponsor? Our salary figures are the same as yours so I am wondering whether I need to sponsor my wife. In the past she has applied as self sponsor but since we are applying together I wonder. Since we got married we have taken every overseas trip together but we have both applied separately in the past and been granted US visas at least 3ce each but this is the first time our renewals are coming up at the same time.
Responses from the house in general are also much welcome and appreciated

If you want to apply with child(ren) I believe you should be the sponsor, if just 2 of you, you both take any options you want.

Hello all, I have been a silent reader preparing for my 4th US visa application in a couple of months. I have read from pg one to the current page of this Part 4 thread specifically because of concerns the public charge rule.
Is it really fake news, I have been trying to understand the public charge rule that has now gone into effect from 24 Feb 2020. TWoods touched on it way back in the thread on 29th Oct pg 151 to be exact, I can't seem to quote that far back but I've included a screenshot of the comment further below.

I would appreciate more input from any US consular law experts in the forum on whether or not this rule is applicable to B1/B2 visa applications, if yes then my understanding is that you have to earn a certain percentage about US federal poverty guidelines, TWoods mentioned 125% but the USCIS website actually states 250% in their FAQs as quoted / copied out below:

"Q. What factors weigh heavily against a determination that someone is likely at any time to become a public charge?
A. The following factors would weigh heavily against a finding that an alien is likely to become a public charge:

The alien has household income, assets, resources, and support from a sponsor, excluding any income from illegal activities or from public benefits, of at least 250% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines for his or her household size.
The alien is authorized to work and is currently employed in a legal industry with an annual income of at least 250% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines for a household of his or her household size.
The alien has private health insurance appropriate for the expected period of admission, so long as the alien does not receive subsidies in the form of premium tax credits under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act to pay for such health insurance."

So here is my transcript***
My interview was scheduled for 8am Wednesday morning, I went with my Husband and baby. We got there and went through the queues and finally got to the waiting point to be assigned to a VO. The number of colored papers that were already flying around that early was discouraging but hubs stayed positive. We finally got to the front of the VO and the convo below was how it went:
There was a family who was denied, their son had a US passport and was 8years old but they did not have medical receipts. They were denied.
please try to also answer questions fully, don’t just drop one word answers. Ensure your answers align with what you have filled in your application, you can always save out a copy of your application and go through it before your interview. Pray for Favour too.
Good luck.

Congrats I'm happy for you.

Hi thanks for the advise I just applied for HND part-time program I do work with a company as an accountant I've been working for 2yr with the company my friend is inviting me as student i do earn up to 200k and I will be sponsoring my self ... I have not fill the ds120 pls I need your opinion on this coz the graduation will be coming up on may4th pls what should I do
thanks for your respond in anticipation @seyewest @iyaaliya @janet200 @gurus

Sorry to bust your bubble, the graduation will happen without you, if you have extra money to spend on travel, then start building your travel history with country with easy visa procedure, start with Dubai, Singapore, East Africa Countries, UK before applying for U.S, this is my small advice and opinion because right now U.S Embassy will likely refuse you.

No paint me black. Are u sure ur following conversations? No one has insulted the retired mom. I'm not sure u follow well. I won't explain myself. I owe no one no apology. The public knows that.

By the way, if ur too proper and gentlemanly the way you presumably want the public to know that you are, u can tell your buddy afonja to apologize to over 80 percent of people in this forum.

It's coz of people like that I became vocal on this group. It's a shame. Shame. You seem to condone one. It's from ur mouth I learned he's a US citizen.. That we should accord him preferential respect. It's a shame.

I guess I'm wrong for saying you should apologize for calling someone idiot? I have no business with Afonja and I wish you could do the same.

Honestly, save your money. If you honestly ask yourself and answer these questions, you will know I am not being mean. The person graduating isn't even your family, will the graduation not hold either you there or not, you are still a student, do you think the VO will see you as not taking advantage of the Visa? You are a flight risk, why will your dad be spending over 300k for you to go attend a friend's graduation if he doesn't see that as a send off gift to you. Pls, note I may be wrong but generally, these and many more are what the VO will use to assess you.

You're not wrong ooo

Good evening everyone. I know this may not be the right forum but pls I need help oh. Pls who has flown with Egyptair recently? Does it provide hotels for overnight layovers? Flight is Rome to Lagos. Turkish airlines cancelled flights.
2. What about Royal Air maroc? How comfortable is this flight?
Cc: @seyewest
Thanks

Egyptair normally provide accommodation for stopover of more than 10Hrs and above, they provide tours and sightseeing for more than 6hrs and less than 10hrs stopover.
As for Royal Maroc, you will be provided accommodation if your stopover is more than 8hrs and if you're not black or Black African, my client was not provided accommodation while white heading to US and other destinations were provided for, he slept in the airport.

About the I-94 form! Do i need to go online to print it and submit it when leaving the states?

No I don't think so, apart from the Airline manifest, they tag your passport electronically at the airport.

Hi guys!
Came in via Houston last night!
Poe was smooth! I think confidence is the key! The cbp guy was just send ppl before me for secondary inspections!
I got there and he asked me 3 questions.

1.Purpose of visit
2.What do i do
3. How long am I staying!
He stamped me in for 6 months( August)! The visa status was both B1/B2 even when i said it was B1 purpose.
I made research and i learnt B1 status automatically allows you do B2 activities.

Have nice holiday and thanks for the transcript.

Hello everyone,

I am applying for my mum's visa. My major concern is she is retired from teaching in 2016 and has been selling office wears for women since then, she was denied last year (I filled in retired), now that I am reapplying should I fill in business and write more about her office wears sales instead of focusing on her retirement and pension from FG.

I will appreciate your advise and response.
who is sponsoring her trip?

My first travel to the U.S was through Abu Dhabi in 2015. You must be confident of your purpose of traveling as I saw some people in the deportation room. Chai, same for Doha, Qatar there's a pre-clearance facility went through there in 2016 and planning to go through there next month.

There's no Preclearance facility in Doha, Qatar.
what you went through is extra checks.

Chei!!! cheesy cheesy

If your hand is clean and you are decent, why won’t you sit and eat with “elders”? Uncouthness will not let you be great.... How can you call out someone that did wrong and yet get lampooned by same person and the people around will be happy and excited about it? Imagine it was Seye, we will rally round him firmly.

Circa (and Rago), you went against the tenets of this thread, you’d be told so all the same, irrespective, and I’m quite sure the moderator will not not allow such posts stand. If you must be of help, be of help here, openly, you’d be appreciated for that. Don’t lead people in a suspicious and cunning manner to your DM or whatever, definitely not openly.

Do note you are free and in your rights to send anyone PM, find Agent and use, or whatever you DECIDE to do.

But this Thread TRIES to uphold a culture of getting a B1/B2 LEGITIMATELY and use the same for the intended purpose according to the rules of the B1/B2 Visa.

So don't see the comments as directed at you. I am personally interested in contributing to your NIV process as many others here. If you feel you can work with the people here, then the floor is open. If you don't want to. The floor is open.

I got my B1/B2 here. I aced my interview from comments here. JFK PoE was simple and a breeze from info here (other thread). My three weeks stay in NY and DC was superb from comments too. I picked airline to use based on comments. My Dubai transit was simple based on comments from here.

Nice one
