They have been building this stadium since the 90's cry
I was expecting to see pictures of a world class stadium but oh well its average. Will this stadium be in a state of disrepair in 15yrs, we'll be waiting.

Culture / Re: Common 'madness' In Lagos? by tipsy289(m): 6:23am On Dec 16, 2009
This was the early 2000's
i was at the bus stop on Ikorodu Road going to Maryland when on the other side of the road(i.e direction surulere) a danfo stopped and i saw a guy run out and was being chased by the conductor. He stole a lady purse and dashed across the road without looking at oncoming traffic.
Dude was running wild and i just looked with other people at the bus stop as he was being chased.I'm pretty sure he wasnt caught but since then i hardly had anything with me whenever i took a danfo.

Travel / Re: How To Become A Permanent Residence In Canada by tipsy289(m): 7:07am On Jan 08, 2009
Yes it is possible but first know its a lengthy process. If you are not studying in the province of Quebec, then read this.
i can give you the website and tell you to look for everything, http://www.cic.gc.ca/EnGLIsh/immigrate/index.asp.
I'm guessing you are going to apply as a skilled worker which means you will need work experience of at least one year(doesnt matter where you worked) and you will also need to have an arranged job when you get to canada(you have to apply for a temporary work permit for this) and this job must be related/skilled to ur career(not anything like waiter, salesman e.t.c).Try and use the calculate my score to see if u will be eligible to apply on the website i gave you(you need at least 67).
Also, you know becoming a permanent resident,it is mandatory to live in canada for 3 years for every 4years/5 years i think r u'll lose the status.
Go hunting around on different websites am sure they will be of good help cos the process is long.
Travel / Re: Your Travel Plans by tipsy289(m): 7:49am On Jan 06, 2009

-British columbia
-australia(always wanted to go there)
Education / Re: Crazy Things You Did In High School? by tipsy289(m): 9:59am On Dec 03, 2008
A lot happened.i'll just write the god ones.
As i didnt go to boarding school,i didnt see all the crazy things that happened but yeah it was still crazy.
-In Js2,a new intro tech teacher was introduced and he taught my class first,me and some other guy were just having fun and tossing a dictionary to each other and in the students in the back of the class were throwing paper planes and this girl actually took a paper plane and threw it to the teachers face when he asked."What are you guys doing back there?", well he was pissed, told the principal and yeah we all got beaten from the guy, man it hurt really bad.
-In ss1 the thug in our school Anetor,i decided to make fun off me and he chased me around school but i was faster than him and the next day(i had completely forgotten), he came to my block just after i finished a class and hit me with a wooden stick,i was trapped in the hallway and immediately ran to the staff room and this guy still wanted to wack me until one teacher talked sense to him, phew i was so lucky.
-in js2 couple of ss2 kinda of bullied me and i had my anger building up in me i just walked out and unfortunately slammed the door on some other seniors face, even though he was pissed at least he didnt hit me, gentle fella(i was one of the few people that pissed him off in that school)

Sports / Re: Why Is Football The Global Game? by tipsy289(m): 6:45am On Aug 10, 2008
Football is really popular but i dont think its really a global game(North America is so out from this, india and neighbouring countries and some parts of asia).
its easy to understand thats why many people play it in other parts of the world.
Politics / Re: Power Outage Forces Flight Diversion by tipsy289(m): 1:58am On Jul 13, 2008
Wow thats very dangerous for the power to go off in the airport-foreigners will think its a war zone country they've gone too.
i read some comments and i agree with a lot like privatising the power corporation,e.t.c
If this problem keeps arising, major airlines will not want to take the risk of using Murtala airport
Nairaland / General / Re: Is Age Same With Maturity? by tipsy289(m): 10:20am On Jul 10, 2008
Age is a number
Maturity is the mental development factor of an individual, still intertwined with age but not the same.
, e.g i'm sure i'm not as matured as my age(hang out with too many 18 and 19)
Education / Re: Expulsion Scandal Rocks Covenant University: 120 Students Expelled by tipsy289(m): 9:17pm On Jul 09, 2008
Wow my friend told me this like a month ago and i thought he was joking.
I just dont know what to say about CU, imagine being in ur final year and this has to happen,so 2/3/4 yrs of what?Nothing
I think they need a student federation(not the straight from the bible people) seriously, the students need to voice this out and how this makes life uncomfortable,
Everyday, the authority will say do this and that, if you dont ur the black sheep of the school(wrong mentality).I really hope stories like this change very soon
Education / Re: Advantage In Learning French by tipsy289(m): 1:51am On Jun 29, 2008

Nairaland / General / Re: Most Embarrassing Moment! by tipsy289(m): 10:50pm On Jun 28, 2008
I remember first week of university in my calculus class, that class was so boring i slept off and behold i started snoring in class(Thank God the class was slightly noisy as the prof did not hear me),well people paid attention on me and my buddy(listening to his iPod) saw all the people around us looking at me,he removed the earphones and hit me so hard, i woke up seeing everyone looking at me and the girl beside me giggling so much.
Romance / Re: What Physical Features in Women Turn You Off? by tipsy289(m): 9:30pm On Jun 28, 2008
hehe features that turn women off.
even though i'm not perfect(infact far from),really no physical feature turns me off.i will just be happy if some of our girls take care of their health(in size matters).except that what do u want me to say, big ears, bulging eyes, hairy hands(pls thats all bullshit),
Romance / Re: Girls Chasing After Me by tipsy289(m): 9:23pm On Jun 28, 2008
hey man
there is the saying that "you dont call or text someone more/less than they text or call u back".well the girl has obviously changed this.
Depending on what you want with the girl(if its just sex you might as well go on,if its going to be a commitment you might want to distance urself)
its good if a girl goes straight to the point and tells you what she wants with you, dont worry girls disturbing guys is normal, sometimes you dont have to conquer anything to feel like a man(its 2008 not the 50's)
Romance / Re: Nigerian Guys Cannot French Kiss! by tipsy289(m): 8:39am On Jun 23, 2008

Travel / Re: People Afraid of Flying: What Remedy? by tipsy289(m): 7:48am On Jun 23, 2008
If you google it, a lot of things will come out but of course not everything will work for everyone.
I sometimes still get scared during take-off especially when the last time i flew was really long but once air-borne,its all good.
and please the people advising you to take alcohol, not a smart idea. The air is pressurised up there and you are dehydrated and feel so tired.Just take a bottle of water and walk around from time to time in the cabin
Religion / Re: Men And Their Indecent Dressing by tipsy289(m): 1:10am On Jun 22, 2008
True some guys will walk with boxers a lot, i dont really like doing it because i think people are uncomfortable with it, and if we wanted to show our physique,we would walk around with it, c'mon we all do it, guys and girls
Travel / Re: Your First Day On A Plane by tipsy289(m): 12:17am On May 26, 2008
oh man the first real time i remember was when i was 9.i was excited that night(Lagos to London on BA).
as we entered the plane.my sister and I started fighting because i took the aisle seat and she was in the middle.my mum had to seat in the middle for her to get the other aisle seat.Take-off feeling(not too good) but landing was ok(apart from my ears been blocked)
Funny thing,my junior brother slept in the car b4 we got to MMIA and he woke up in the airport to ask whether we were in London(we just reach departure hall talkless of entering the plane)
