Hello house,
I intend building a 2bedroom bungalow somewhere around Ogun state. Flat table ground, solid with no issues with flooding.
Kindly assist with cost of the foundation as well as overall cost considering the current cost of materials this time.
I am new to building so any help, costs, advice and tips will be sincerely appreciated.
Thanks 🙏🏾🙌🏾

It will require your architectural plan before you can get any feedback on this

I've seen lot of expensive houses with no fire alarm systems nor fire extinguishers..... That's a very great risk to take on such heavy investment sha

As a marine engineer, I've seen billions of dollars assets consumed by fire because of carelessness and non-working fire fighting/alarm systems... Even in my house, i have a CO2 fire extinguisher and I've taught my wife how to use it... and I service it annually at 15k.

I even have a fire blanket in my kitchen too, this was gifted to me by a foreign chef on one of the vessel I worked three years ago (This helps in fighting oil spill fires in the kitchen)

My ongoing house project will have fire alarm systems in all the rooms, Gas leakage and smoke alarm detector in the kitchen (All powered by rechargeable batteries)

This alarm can be tested weekly or monthly with smoke spray aerosol or improvised smoke from paper (Which is not advisable)

Good what we normally have in the kitchen is heat detector

Ok, that's great for the Nigerian situation as it is at the moment. I only hope they also come with indicators to show when batteries are drained.

When the battery is low they will give alarm.. There is also heat detector for kitchen

Exactly, that is why we should all have working smoke alarms.

Many don't have fire alarm in their house. We have the wireless one now

Coleman is set to increase price tomorrow.

Notice

Dear colleagues, hello everyone.

A red alert is now issued! The US dollar exchange rate has increased significantly from 1180 to 1250, and at the same time, the international copper price is also soaring continuously.

In view of this situation, the company may unilaterally announce a price increase at any time in the follow-up.

Please inform the customers and ask them to be prepared in advance.

My only concern is that it will be very slippery when wet. In addition, the material strength cannot be compared to concrete. So, tiles will not withstand the weight heavy trucks . They will definitely crack under such pressure.
Lastly, the cost of tiles with authentic anti slip surface would be very expensive. They are even more expensive than granites.

You speak my mind. I went to a client house in Ikoyi and saw so many cracks on the outside floor tiles. We went there for power audit because they always have power surge. I don't think tiles can withstand the weight of heavy duty trucks like Interlocks and stamp concrete.

What's the current price of cement and electric cables in your area? They're still selling 7.5k for a bag of cement here in abuja (speaking for my area) and 26k for 1.5mm cable

Are you at the cabling stage? Mine is cheaper than that

Does your saw have Diamond hole saw blade that can cut through cements, gypsum boards etc? I don’t mean regular hole saw that are designed for wood planks.

I have not seen a single electrician that uses this type of blade. The usual metallic blades they have don’t cut those cement boards in the POP well.

To digress a little, have not also seen where our tilers use circular (plunge) water saws to cut tiles. They rather use all this manual ones and the neatnesses, accuracy or the precision is never there. That’s why we build less charming homes with better finishing.

Check our last installation.. We use machine on POP
