sisisioge: If he looked, he would have found him! He had a better chance at finding him than the boy has at finding the father because he at least would know the full name of his baby mama. Boy does not even know the guy's name or where he is from to begin his search. As for the woman, its really dreadful that she's keeping the guy's info from his son....the misery will just fuel his curiosity more.
If she had killed him, it would have been easier to tell him from the start that his father is dead without pointing any fingers to herself. Madam, I think you are economic with objectivity in the instant case. I don't know how old you are, but some of us adults are experienced enough to have even witnessed firsthand the follies of some women. OP's mother has no morally justifiable right to conceal the information he seeks, also, not legally, even if that is debatable. Your position that his father had a better chance of finding him also fails. Assuming OP is 20 years old, how many people are technically equipped to apply the methodologies you espouse 20 years ago?. Let's not forget the man in discussion was probably a “technician”. Did you miss the part where OP alluded to the possibility that his mother's name known to his father may not have been accurate?. You may possess that ability to smoke out Osama bin laden and Shekau from their hideouts, but you may be in the minority. What are his chances if his then girlfriend simply absconded with their child?. Are we to assume you are uninformed about the vocation of most of our Ghanian sisters in Nigeria at that material time?. Without the benefit of perusing through your posts to situate my suspicion of gender bias, for which I lack the time, I will opine that you may consider backtracking on the idea that every failed parentage is somehow a man's fault. Some are, but so are women as well. @OP, you are right to seek to know who your father is. But also brace yourself for unpleasant realities during and if you eventually succeed. Broaden your inquiries around your mother's relatives and friends at the time she lived in Nigeria. What I can assure you is that your mother has something she does not want you to know about. We, being Africans, and the mindset we have, it has to be about her and her past. Take this to Facebook as well if you are yet to, and good luck to you in your search. |

Again, Tinubu was indicted for drug related offenses. Specifically, laundering the proceeds of, importation and distribution of white heroin from southeast Asia using Nigerian mules. He copped a plea bargain and ratted on his associates. In return, he was let off the hook with lesser charges. This is standard practice.
How do I know?. As a former resident of Chicago's Northside, this is common knowledge for anyone who straddled the streets of the windy city back in the day. |

lhordspy: Because there are no evidence of rigging or malpractice anywhere. So in a bid to keep the struggle going. They had to rope in an already dismissed charges. These charges have been taken to court already different times and all ended up been cleared and dismissed by the judge with the latest one coming from justice Inyang of Federal high court, i think, just 2months ago, PDP filed that suit. I remember so well.
These are not even normal electoral crime or malpractice that occurred, these are charges that has nothing to do with the main voting and declaration of result.
And to answer your question plainly, no lawyer in this world will ever reject a court case. They will never tell Obi he has got no chance. How lawyers go take chop? So, why is Peter Obi's foolishness causing you and your cohorts sleepless nights?. You should be happy, he is foolishly wasting his time and money, right?. |

kuma007: The Constitution is very clear the status of FCT as a State and this has been affirmed by the Supreme Court, whose judgement has a binding effect of all other courts and tribunal acting in a judicial capacity in Nigeria. This issue has been laid to rest by the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is FINAL! Can you post a copy of that SC judgement or a like to it. Thank you |
Politics › Re: Section 137: What Does The Law Say About Tinubu's Drug Case In the U.S? by 00FFT00(m): 10:09am On Mar 22, 2023 |
Parachoko: In the USA, if there's enough evidence a person is a drug dealer, Jail term and losing almost everything one is acquired is sure.
One can't just get an easy judgement in a drug related case in the USA
https://www.google.com/amp/s/sunnewsonline.com/letter-exonerating-tinubu-from-drug-cases-in-us-resurfaces/%3famp
Tinubu was never prosecuted for a drug related issue in the USA neither has he been found guilty of commiting any crime in the USA. Stop talking nonsense. What do you know about American Jurisprudence and law enforcement?. Have you even ever obtained a US visa in your life, talkless of a personal experience?. People who reside and daily interact with the system are telling you what gives, and some Tunde form Ogbomosho is talking rubbish from hearsay. You could be caught with 10 kilos of any controlled substance in the US, but will come out with a misdemeanor charge if you snitch on your partners and substantially cooperate with law enforcement. This is clearly what happened in this case. Why did Tinubu abscond to Nigeria in the immediate aftermath of his so-called “forfeiture”?. Can a forfeiture happen without a conviction?. You may wish yourself a criminal as president. We don't. |
Politics › Re: FCT 25% Requirement: Olisa Agbakoba Saw This Coming by 00FFT00(m): 9:55am On Mar 22, 2023 |
kuma007: But Section 299 of the Constitution provides as follows:
"The provisions of this Constitution shall apply to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja as if it were one of the States of the Federation"
The Court of Appeal (full panel) interpreted this provision in one of its decisions to mean that the FCT should be treated as the 37th state of the Federation. see also the case of Fawehinmi v. Babangida (2003) 12 WRN 1; (2003) 3 NWLR (Pt. 808) page 604 where the Supreme Court endorsed the status of Federal Capital Territory as a “State” of the Federation I lack the time to engage in academic discussion at the moment. But, take this with you, if you will. Please read to No. 2 and 3 of my submission again. Now, Without prejudice to your idea of a 37th state, you may want to reference the relevant provisions of the same constitution where it declared what entity constitutes a state in the federal republic of Nigeria. |
Politics › Re: FCT 25% Requirement: Olisa Agbakoba Saw This Coming by 00FFT00(m): 9:45am On Mar 22, 2023 |
Ogarexmas: The two examples you gave can be interpreted differently 24+12=36 2/3 of 36= 24
1. The two third of that class is 24 which simply means you can decide to pick 12 boys and 12 girls 2. Two third of the boys is 16 and two third of the girls is 8.
So you see the confusion here is that anyone can ascribe his or her own meaning to the constitution and he/she will be considered correct.
It is only the supreme court that can clarify that and so we know if it's compulsory to have 25% in the fct.
Judging from the past presidential elections they have all secured 25% in the fct. Buhari secured it in 2015 and 2019 for your information. 1. No Nigerian has emerged president without securing 25 percent of the votes cast in 24 states and the FCT. The process of securing these votes can be discussed whether they were rightly cast or rigged. 2. That, in its nature, is an attestation to the validity of that constitutional provision over time as an established and accepted framework. 3. The word “And”, in the manner of it wording in the constitution, is conjunctive. What that means is that it is an additional requirement. 4. Festus is wrong to assume that Yakubu has been appointed the prerogative to pick and chose how our laws should be interpreted based on his whims and caprice. 6. The best this Inec could have done, was to make a declarative statement before the elections in the manner allowed it by the constitution. You cannot change the rules in the middle of a game, and ultimately where the same rules do not appoint you the rights to do so. |
Politics › Re: FCT 25% Requirement: Olisa Agbakoba Saw This Coming by 00FFT00(m): 9:26am On Mar 22, 2023 |
SmartPolician: That FCT 25% NONSENSE sounds absurd to me. FCT is often separated from the 36 states because it's a territory, not a state (they cannot call it 37 states). However, as far as the election is concerned, FCT is like every other state in the country.
BTW, if Peter Obi is hoping to use that as basis to upturn Tinubu's sham victory, then I am afraid he has no case against the Druggie because it won't work. Happy to read you describe the electoral opprobrium as a sham victory. Sham victory it is. That said, are we to assume that provisions enshrined in our constitution are to be negated at will?. |

SultanOfPuna: Tho im not proud of it. I have killed someone First one was mistake Second one was self defense
In 2005/06 i and my uncle went out to mechanic to repair his V boot car as he went out to eat i was left alone with mechanic, i was in jss1 by then The mechanic jokinly asked me if i can drive I said he should teach me. He showed me how to start and warm the car He warmed me not to touch the gear Now as a young boy i was so excited to seat on driver seat hitting the trottel and warming the car, then i made a very huge mistake by moving the gear to R (reverse) Next thing i know the car reversed with full speed and crashed inside a tailors shop opposite the mechanic Unfourtunately, the woman who owns the tailor shop died on the spot. It all happened so quick and i can still remember the crowd of people that where shouting at me and threatning to put me in prison. One of the worst days of my life The mechanic was so angry with me the man tear me slaps and hooked my shirt All this while i was crying and begging by the time my uncle came, i got the scolding of my life with some serious beating. Very traumatic moment
My parents ended up coming and they all settled with the tailors family Then i was sent to village, changed to another school till my jss3 i then came back to owerri by then my uncle had relocated to kaduna. One of my worst momemts in childhood
Have you ever killed someone? Share with us how it affected you
Mine affected me so much that i didnt near driver seat due to having fear of driving until 2021 when i finally overcame that fear of driving. It wasnt easy at all And the second murder? |
