mavister: Praying repetitive words using Rosary beads is forbidden.

Catholics pray repetitive words with Rosary Beads that were first invented in 1090 AD, by "Peter the Hermit" and made popular by St. Dominic in 1208 AD. Catholics believe that Mary appeared to St. Dominic in 1208 AD, at the church of Prouille and revealed the Rosary Beads to him. From this time, Catholics prayed 15 sets of 10 consecutive "hail Marys" in a row (150 times), in the Rosary. However, in 2003 AD, Pope John Paul added a new set of Mysteries, so now it is 20 sets of 10 "Hail Marys", (200 times in the Rosary, in total.) Catholics will vainly appeal to Psalm 136 that alternates the same phrase 26 times with 26 different blessings God gives us. It is not 26 in a row as with the rosary! This is also a song, not a prayer. Revelation 4:8 has "angels singing" not "men praying".
Click on photo for high resolution
Historical note:Roman Catholics borrowed the idea of praying with beads from thepaganreligions who were already using them hundreds of years before: In 456 AD,Hindusare thought to have introduced the concept of praying with beads to the world. The earliest reference to a rosary (boberkhas) is in their "Jain Canon" (456 AD) These boberkhas had various numbers of beads 6,9,12,18,36 (any sub-multiple of 108)Islam(610 AD) uses a rosary of 99 beads, one for each of the names of God.Buddhistshave 108 prayer beads on the string. The Rosary is of pagan origin and no Christian prior to 1000 AD used beads to pray.
Your historical account on how the rosary emanated is hogwash... The Rosary, in descriptive term, is a simple praying tool made of beads and string, which helps the Catholics to remember God. About 90% of the Rosary is directly from the Bible. If you say your Rosary daily and meditate on its mysteries, it will bring down many graces from heaven to you. It will strengthen you to overcome temptation, and to grow holy. It will lead you straight to heaven, and away from the devil. Habitual sin will no longer be a part of your life. The following are Bible passages that Catholics meditate on during the Rosary:
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you (Luke 1:28)
Blessed art thou among women (Luke 1:41-42a, Luke 1:48)
And Blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus (Luke 1:42b)
Holy Mary, Mother of God (Luke 1:43)
Pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.
(Luke 2:35, John 2:3-5).

The Joyful Mysteries (Mon & Sat)
1st Decade: The Annunciation of Gabriel to Mary (Luke 1:26-38)
2nd Decade: The Visitation of Mary to Elizabeth (Luke 1:39-56)
3rd Decade: The Birth of Our Lord (Luke 2:1-21)
4th Decade: The Presentation of Our Lord (Luke 2:22-38)
5th Decade: The finding of Our Lord in the Temple (Luke 2:41-52)

The Luminous Mysteries (Thurs)
1st Decade: The Baptism of Our Lord in River Jordan (Matt 3:13-16)
2nd Decade: The Wedding at Cana, when Christ Manifested Himself (Jn 2:1-11)
3rd Decade: The proclamation of the Kingdom of God (Mk 1:14-15)
4th Decade: The Transfiguration of Our Lord (Matt 17:1-cool
5th Decade: The Last Supper, when Our Lord gave us the Holy Eucharist (Matt 26)

The Sorrowful Mysteries (Tues & Fri)
1st Decade: The Agony of Our Lord in the Garden (Matt 26:36-56)
2nd Decade: Our Lord is Scourged at the Pillar (Matt 27:26)
3rd Decade: Our Lord is Crowned with Thorns (Matt 27:27-31)
4th Decade: Our Lord carries the Cross to Calvary (Matt 27:32)
5th Decade: The Crucifixion of Our Lord (Matt 27:33-56)

The Glorious Mysteries (Wed & Sun)
1st Decade: The Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord (John 20:1-29)
2nd Decade: The Ascension of Our Lord (Luke 24:36-53)
3rd Decade: The Descent of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-41)
4th Decade: The Assumption of Mary into Heaven (Sg 2:2, 10-11)
5th Decade: The Coronation of Mary as Queen of Heaven and Earth (Rev 12:1) (Luke 8:21) (Gal 4:19) (Cor 4:17) (Gn 3:15a) (Sir 24:4) (Jdt 13:18, & 15:9).

The vocal part of the Rosary has prayers straight to Jesus. Even the “Hail Mary” is not a prayer to Mary. The Catechism calls it the ‘Marian Prayer’ because we are asking Mary to pray for us. She is interceding on our behalf. As we can see Rosary has its roots from the Bible.

Mrlouis: " Systematic Murder of Believers--The Untold History of the Inquisition" (this article is written by a former Roman Catholic priest). It is said thatduring the approximately 600 years of the Roman Catholic Inquisition, tens of millions of Christians were tortured and murdered. Why the killing spree? Primarily to suppress any and all opposition to her heresies. "Side benefits" included taking the material wealth of her victims and showing the pope's power terrorizing people and keeping them in line believing Romish superstitions and heresies.Roman Catholic agents have tortured, crippled, burned, murdered, mutilated, and imprisioned millions of Christians. Rome's inquisitors hunted down Christians and had whole towns and cities wiped out, murdered.Whatever happened to love your enemies (ref. Matthew 5:44)?A look at papal decrees and letters reveals that the Inquisition was carried outunder the instigation and authority of the popes of Rome(e.g. Pope Innocent IV's 1252 A.D. bull, "Ad Extirpanda" which gives laws and commands "To root up from the midst of Christian people the weed of heretical wickedness." Law 4 instructs the "twelve upright and Catholic men" et al (of Law 3) as follows-- "Those...appointed may and should seize the heretical men and women and carry off their possessions and cause these to be carried off by others..."wink.The office of the Inquisition has only changed its name--according to wikipedia, it was "Supreme Sacred Congregation of the Roman and Universal Inquisition" and it is now called "Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith" (CDF) (Congregatio pro Doctrina Fidei).
Maybe you should mention the name of the "former" Roman Catholic Priest that wrote the article... I hope you are not referring to the "Davinci Code", where the writer, Dan Brown used his novel to misinterpret the nature and scope of the Inquisition to the extent of suggesting that During the Witchcraft Inquisition, the Catholic Church killed five million women who were branded witches but were actually freethinkers, scholars, nature lovers, mystics, priestesses, midwives and gypsies. For the records, both men and women were targeted as witches and the deaths were no more than a hundred thousand! The Inquisition was intended to find people who were outwardly claiming to be Christians but secretly practicing other religions such as anti-messianic Judaism, Islam, or Albigensianism (two-god religion). The Inquisition was an attempt to protect the purity of the Christian Community.

It should be pointed out that the Protestant Christians had a counter-inquisition that killed hundreds of thousands of Catholics. Thousands of Catholics were killed in England alone after the reformation struck there. Countries like Ireland, and American Colonies followed in the killing of Catholics. In fact, the name, John Calvin, became popular for the burning of Catholics at the stake. Do more research bro.

unongu: It is not stated anywhere in the Bible that only adults should be baptized. Non-Catholics state that the act of baptism is a waste because the infant is not capable of knowing what is happening and has not yet received the Lord as their Savior. Let us take a look at the Jewish infants that were being circumcised. Did these infants know that at the moment they were being circumcised, they were making a covenant with God? There is no validity to the non-Catholic claim that only adults should be baptized. Apostle Paul shows us a parallel between circumcision and baptism in the book of Colossians 2:11-12, when he stated thus: “In whom also you are circumcised with circumcision not made by hand, in despoiling of the body of the flesh, but in the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, in whom also you are risen again by the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him up from the dead.”
There is baptism of adults in the New Testament because the converts then were grown adults. However, let us take some verses in the Bible that say otherwise:
Peter answered: "Each of you must repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins may be forgiven. Then you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise of God was made to you and your children, and to all those from afar whom our God may call." (Acts 2:38-39)

“Well, I have also baptized the Stephanas family…” (1Cor 1:16)

“After she had been baptized together with her household, she invited us to her house…” (Acts 16:15)

The above Bible passages point to the fact that, it is not just adults that require baptism; children, family and household were baptized by the Apostles in the beginning of the mission so, why should we do otherwise?
i am going to really enlighten you on this your post. Now let me ask you this. You were clever enough not to include 'the art of baptism' and by this i mean why ur stance is not on baptism by immersion. Besides that bible passage you quoted, did paul say 'i sprinkled water on the children there'' pls answer accordingly. Thanks and God bless
Re: @ITALO. Catholics Please Defend Your Doctrines Here by unongu(m): 4:54pm On Nov 18, 2013
mavister: thanks for attempting the questions. Let me clarify you
The Bible is absolutely clear that we are to worship God alone. The only instances of anyone other than God receiving worship in the Bible are false gods, which are Satan and his demons. All followers of the Lord God refuse worship. Peter and the apostles refused to be worshipped ( Acts 10:25-26; 14:13-14). The holy angels refuse to be worshipped ( Revelation 19:10; 22:9). The response is always the same, "Worship God!"
Roman Catholics attempt to "bypass" these clear Scriptural principles by claiming they do not “worship” Mary or saints, but rather that they only "venerate" Mary and the saints. Using a different word does not change the essence of what is being done. A definition of "venerate" is "to regard with respect or reverence." Nowhere in the Bible are we told to revere anyone but God alone. There is nothing wrong with respecting those faithful Christians who have gone before us (see Hebrews chapter 11). There is nothing wrong with honoring Mary as the earthly mother of Jesus. The Bible describes Mary as "highly favored" by God ( Luke 1:28). At the same time, there is no instruction in the Bible to revere those whom have gone to Heaven. We are to follow their example, yes, but worship, revere, or venerate, no!
When forced to admit that they do, in fact, worship Mary, Catholics will claim that they worship God through her, by praising the wonderful creation that God has made. Mary, in their minds, is the most beautiful and wonderful creation of God, and by praising her, they are praising her Creator. For Catholics, this is analogous to directing praise to an artist by praising his sculpture or painting. The problem with this is that God explicitly commands against worshipping Him through created things. We are not to bow down and worship anything in the form of heaven above or earth below ( Exodus 20:4-5). Romans 1:25could not be more clear, "They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator — who is forever praised. Amen." Yes, God has created wonderful and amazing things. Yes, Mary was a godly woman who is worthy of our respect. No, we absolutely are not to worship God "vicariously" by praising things (or people) He has created. Doing so is blatant idolatry.
The major way Catholics "venerate" Mary and the saints is by praying to them. As the following article demonstrates, prayer to anyone other than God alone is anti-Biblical – praying to saints and Mary. Whether Mary and/or the saints are prayed to, or whether they are petitioned for their prayers – neither practice is Biblical. Prayer is an act of worship. When we pray to God, we are admitting that we need His help. Directing our prayers to anyone other than God is robbing God of the glory that is His alone.
Another way Catholics "venerate" Mary and the saints is by creating statues and images of them. Many Catholics use images of Mary and/or the saints as "good luck charms." Any cursory reading of the Bible will reveal this practice as blatant idolatry ( Exodus 20:4-6; 1 Corinthians 12:1-2; 1 John 5:21). Rubbing rosary beads is idolatry. Lighting candles before a statue or portrayal of a saint is idolatry. Burying a Joseph statue in hopes of selling your home (and countless other Catholic practices) is idolatry.
The terminology is not the issue. Whether the practice is described as "worship" or "veneration," or any other term, the problem is the same. Any time we ascribe something that belongs to God, to someone else, it is idolatry. The Bible nowhere instructs us to revere, pray to, rely on, or "idolize" anyone other than God. We are to worship God alone. Glory, praise, and honor belong to God alone. Only God is worthy to "...receive glory and honor and power..." ( Revelation 4:11). God alone is worthy to receive our worship, adoration, and praise ( Nehemiah 9:6; Revelation 15:4).
The question has been well answered... un-tailor your understanding... free yourself and allow reality to sink.

There is nowhere infants are baptised in the bible and there is nowhere baptism is done by sprinkling. It is a doctrine from the pit of hell which should be rejected. The catholic does not know anything that is why they are dancing round a circle. They cant defend their barbaric doctrine with the bible cos all they know is mere dogma and human tradition which God does nt command. Their doctrine is man made. Matthew 15:7-8.
Another thing is that they have been indoctrinated with demonic doctrine. 1 timothy 4:1-2. Those who are deep in catholic will tell u that it is not better than a cult.
I know a lot of people who hv repented from catholic, who are really deep in catholic and i even hv some of their books from them, where most of their secret deeds are exposed. Pls no one should believe d catholic, that was why catholic is dividing everyday, cos their doctrine doesn't match with the bible.

POPE II: We don't have anything to prove to heretic bastards like you . We are God's Church the only true and apostolic church, we are not a manmade church and we are definitively not in the same league. How dare you question the Holy Church?

I will ask you to stop persecuting Gods Children for your own good.

Ukuts gp: There is nowhere infants are baptised in the bible and there is nowhere baptism is done by sprinkling.
Pls no one should believe d catholic, that was why catholic is dividing everyday, cos their doctrine doesn't match with the bible.
exactly. And they still argue
