no rocket science to success in life. When are we going to realize that
what we need is not qualifications to tournaments but a team and to have a team
we need a dedicated Coach that will go through all the muddy waters with the team
he is building before they come out shinning out as Gold.

The best Super Eagles team took westernhoff more than 4years to put together, the cameroonians
that won AFCON back to back had the same coach for more than 4years, the same goes for the the Pharoahs
of Egypt.

The reason Naija remains the way it is is simply because we always want things to be done for us now. Instant gratification
is the reason Nigeria is the way it is, just take a look at all the sectors in this country and you will notice there is
none of it that has a long term plan.
We want it now and if we dont get it now, then head must roll. There is no nation that is built that way.

I don't believe the SE's problems started with him in charge. That team has been unreliable and problematic for over a decade. Even the past couple of qualifications for major tournaments were usually not determined till final match day, with our fate at times depending on the outcome of other matches within our group. Nigerians go come dey do orisirisi permutation and calculation.

It is over optimistic to expect any different from a team with that kind of background. And the easiest scapegoat is Siasia of course. It is this same 'sack siasia or else. .' attitude that makes certain Nigerian supporters of Arsenal say: 'I no dey Arsenal again, na Barca I dey follow now, dat Wenger no be better coach'

If you remember the Guinea match well, SE played quite well in the first half and had all the possession, (believe me, I am their greatest critic) and I was actually impressed with their game esp in the first half. I hadn't seen them play like that in a loong time. The match against Ghana was of less quality but they were still able to fight back the Ghanaian domination (not usual), and were the better on the offensive. Don't u think the team showed some improvement?

Sport is a win-some, lose-some affair. And we lost not just because our coaching crew made mistakes, but also for a HOST of other circumstances which have been in the Nigerian football system for years. With the state of Naija football now, especially administration, even Westerhof would not succeed in less than a year (historically, he didn't).

Let's face it, until the entire NFF cabal board is flushed and replaced with forward thinking football administrators who have a passion for Nigerian football, and not the current set of majority political appointees, contractors and businessmen, we're just going to keep going round the same path with similar outcomes. Don't expect success with square pegs in round holes.

I used to live on that same street and what the OP has said is quite true. Then I just used to fume within myself at the illegal fee collection activities of the MRA. And if you don't pay then you're not entitled to a car sticker without which you can't drive through one of the estate gates! I mean, it's da[i]m[/i]n ridiculous, it's like a parallel government. You can't imagine the traffic these people cause from 6am in the morning when they decide to do their stup[i]i[/i]d checks! Even people who have paid the illegal fees still get caught up in it.

The other day I had just bought a car and had one of the guys from the car shop drive it behind me as I drove home. As I got to the gate, I promptly explained to the security guys that the car behind was a new purchase and belonged to me (I was driving a car with the stup[i]i[/i]d sticker oo!), but they bluntly refused access to the new purchase. I tried a little more telling one of the morons that there was no way for the car to get the sticker until I had it registered but he went on saying it was against the estate rules to allow unregistered vehicles through that particular gate. Estate rules? On government roads? Now, how sensible is that?

And if you ask me, the roads generally are not fantastic. Neither is the power or water supply. You still have to provide those for yourself. You still have to pay for your garbage collection. So what exactly is the money used for? I have asked this before and the only sensible thing I heard was "payment of the security boys' salaries". But if the gun wielding boys decide to visit, these security guys bail out of sight like that's what they're trained to do (I no blame dem oo)

And its not just Magodo alone, many of these so-called 'estates' do the same crap. Shouldn't it be illegal for a group of people create their own set of rules outside of government law simply because they build gates onto government roads?

These are the kinds of things that shall continue to happen when the government itself is irresponsible. People begin to feel they have the power to create their own laws because they provide their own security.
