PoliticsRe: NDDC Denies Awarding Any Contract To Senator Godswill Akpabio by 24SEVEN: 6:15am On Jun 08, 2020
The heterogeneity of the Niger Delta region is it's primary problem. Every interaction amongst and/or between the multitude of ethnic groups in the region is viewed with distrust, which in itself is a product of greed and unnecessary superior posturing.

They are only United when it seems other regions are after their oil. But left alone, they are a mixture ready to explode.
RomanceRe: What Age Did You Start Caring For Yourself Independently by 24SEVEN: 6:08am On Jun 08, 2020
OP, there are parents and there are also parents.

Your parents were, in essence, never there for you. They basically left your life to chance.

When do you feel, will be the best time to be independent of say parents like Dangote or Tinubu or Otedola. Or maybe parents working as MDs or Managers in IOCs or renowned businessmen and academics.

If from such families, you can never be truely independent. They fundamentally cordinated your life from childbirth and will look to influence it till their death. They never leave anything about you to chance.

Biafran sentiment is very strong here in rivers. Leave your dirty hut is oshogbo and come to the streets, you'll see numerous Biafran flags flying on the streets from Elele to PH (Iguocha). We Igboid in rivers stand together and vote together

You are only pained as you won't get the satisfaction of seeing the SE Ibos suffer economic hardship in the new Biafra.

Every Igboid and other willing minorities will be part of Biafra, you can only cry and lament under your dirty bed in oshogbo when that happens. God pass una. grin

Evil amala munchers, as goodnews for others no dey sweet una, may you also never find good tiding. Cursed people. grin

What is my business if you're from Rivers State. If you're from Ahoada, are you from Ikwerre or Ogoni or Kalabari or Okrika. If Ahoada is Igbo, wetin concern Ikwerre people or Ogoni or others.

See this one, you chained Biafra abi? No wahala, the chain will soon be broken to pieces and when Biafra leaves I will like to see those that will want to remain with the fulani herdsmen, Boko Haram and the 'monkey dey work, baboon dey chop' system.

Have you asked yourself why each time Biafra seems to becoming a reality you start hearing Oduduwa Rep, Niger Delta Rep and the rest? The answer is because non of them will ever want to be left behind grin grin
Biafria doesn't have what Ambazonia has, ditto.

Access to sea.

Boundaries with more than one country.

Prodigious oil & gas deposits.

Speak for yourself and not others. If Biafra want to breakout, let them breakout and become totally enclosed(chained) by Nigeria. Then you will need Visa to visit PH and Lagos and Abuja. grin grin

This was the same type of arrogant talk Paul Biya and his Francophone side of Cameroun have been saying all these years until reality downed on them.

Who is having the last laugh now between Cameroun and Ambazonia?

If you feel that same fate won't befall Nigeria if things continue like this then it shows you're not a good student of history.

No Nigerian cares particularly except maybe landlocked Igbos that are fighting for Biafra.

Ambazonia and Biafria aren't in same league. Just saying.

Let yourself have the next 5 years unplanned, because you’ve got your entire life to live. Slow down, embrace today for what it is, thank yesterday for what it gave you and have hope for tomorrow for what it can be.

Iamgrey5:
You are shamelessly lying

Is Mandarin a tribe in China?

Is China's Landmass not as large if not larger than West Africa?

Is Igbos overwhelmingly more than Yorubas even within Nigeria in the last couple of census? So how is your China analogy going to fit in since Igbos are not overwhelmingly larger than Yorubas in Nigeria and Yorubas can be found in large numbers else where and igbos are only found in Nigeria?

Not forgetting to mention a War in which igbos claim they lost three million people.
Oga, Mandarin has 920Million native speakers. These are people who speak Mandarin as their first language. It is a Chinese language of the Han People. stop forming like you're an expert in Chinese language and culture. You have never been to China in your life. Your information is from Google, just like everyone else.

I maintain my stand that an ethnic group or tribe being spread across countries doesn't automatically translate to the largest in Numbers. It happens most times but not all times, else Hausa language, Spanish language and French language speakers that are spread across many countries would have been Larger than Mandarin speakers.

Is China larger than South America that is almost entirely Spanish speakers?

So Yoruba cannot use that as a claim against anything.

I'm done with you.

Iamgrey5:
Bro, what the hell are you Yammring about?

First of all, Mandarin is not a tribe but the official language of China and only native Han Chinese.

Secondly, the Land mass of China is as big West Africa if not bigger.

Thirdly, even as far back as 1952 in a very questionable census, the total numbers of igbos over Yorubas in Nigeria was very marginal. However, this doesn't factor in the 1966 war where a good number of igbos lost their lives.

In 2006 census, Yorubas were more the igbos even in Nigeria

Ps: Stop comparing a Language spoken as official language in China to the igbos
I'm on my way to Work. Later.

Save your rant.

You shout Equatorial Guinea. Which has only 1.3milling in population. And you people are only 33,500 as it 2015.

To the bolded above, you are just ignorant fellow. You use maybe, which means you don't even know, despite internet

Well I can tell you that as at 2014, Yorubas in Togo are 304,000
In Ghana 469,000 as at 2017.
In Benin, yorubas are more than 1.7million

While in Ivory Coast, as at 2014, Yorubas are like 120,000.

Compare that your population in any other African countries. Don't let us go outside Africa yet.
So Yorubas must be very large since they are scattered everywhere. Maybe they are as large as the Mandarin Chinese found only in China.

If you've told me a percentage of the Indian or Chinese population were Yoruba, I would have been satisfied with Yorubas being the largest ethnic group, but I don't care about Togo or Benin, cos they are way too small to think about.

Iamgrey5:
The difference between Southwest and Niger state is more than the half of Anambra state.
I don't understand why people find it difficult to understand simple logic. Population isn't always a function of land area.

Saying SEast is only as large as Oyo is same as saying Niger state is also as large as SWest. making such statement with regards to population figures is an aberration cos in all, the landmass is not the issue on hand because if it were, Niger state will have almost same Population as SWest.

Oyo singularly does not have Igbolands population so why the comparison?
PoliticsRe: Top 10 Africa's Most Populous Ethnic Groups. Yoruba is number 3 by 24SEVEN: 6:55am On May 29, 2020
Iamgrey5:
Togos population is 7.8 million with Yoruba being 300,000 5.8%

Yoruba are also 12 % in Benin republic which is close to 2 million.

Google is your friend
So in all, 2.3 million Yorubas indegenous outside Nigeria is the reason why Yoruba should be the largest ethnic group in Nigeria or what?

You still didn't get my point did you. I am telling you that an ethnic group being only native to Nigeria doesn't prevent the ethnic group from being largely populated.

Hausa can be spread round the whole countries in West Africa or even round the whole Africa it doesn't make it larger than Mandarin spoken in only China.

So having a larger spread doesn't automatically make it the most populated.
PoliticsRe: Top 10 Africa's Most Populous Ethnic Groups. Yoruba is number 3 by 24SEVEN: 6:29am On May 29, 2020
Michael004:
Sure na, igbos are just 34million in population and are only found in Nigeria.
I find it difficult to wrap my head around comments like 'only found in Nigeria'. Nigeria for goodness sake is by far the most populated country on the continent.

Imagine saying an ethnic group isn't large because they are only found in India. or maybe only found in China.

Rivers State is approximately 7million people and is more populated than Togo which has 6.1million people.

What %tage of Togolese is Yoruba. i.e what fraction of 6.1million Togolese is Yoruba. maybe 20000 people is the reason we won't hear word.

Their entire region is like one south west state (Oyo).
also the entire Southwest region is as big as one North East state (Niger state).

Truthfirst96:
It is no longer news that Rivers people are not happy with the governor. Many see him as a dictator who doesn't take the people's interest to heart.
To be honest, the governor wants the very best for the state but the way and manner he has gone about it has sent wrong signals to the people of the state. There have been major communication lapses between the government and the people.
For instance, Rivers State has over 120 covid-19 cases but many here do not believe it's true even when there was report of a mysterious death in bonni island that killed over 10 persons in 3 days.
In terms of projects he has not performed woefully neither has he been exceptional in this regards compared to his predecessor. It's true the country was in recession when he took over but currently there are 5 flyover projects going on in Port Harcourt as well as other projects.
At the moment, there are vacancies in most ministries in the state. In the last five years, many workers have gone into retirement. Recruitment that cuts across various ministries will be a major boost in creating a lasting legacy for not just himself but for his party in general.
Only time will tell if the governor will surpass his predecessor and make Rivers State great again. It's not too late
Lienus, name the 5flyovers under construction..

What he is inferring is that same way Oyo state is almost a large as the entire SEast, Niger state is as large as entire SWest. So nothing spectacular to brag about. If you think Oyo has the number to Igbos, Niger state has the number to Yorubas..
