CelebritiesDavido’s Baby Mamas, Sophia And Amanda Finally Make Up… Suffering Indeed Makes M by 2Ebisco(op): 6:09pm On Jul 29, 2018
“Suffering makes men brothers” this saying might not aptly describe the new found friendship between Sophia Momodu and Amanda, the two baby mamas of superstar Davido but still it says something about their situation.

Before now, their rivalry and the battle for the heart of their baby daddy had made them enemies attacking each other with social media posts.

However, now that it is clear that Davido’s heart belongs to neither Sophie or Mandy, they have no reason to fight anymore and this they already know and have accepted.

The two ladies now follow each other on Instagram just like Wizkid’s two baby mamas, liking and commenting on posts.

Suffering indeed makes men brothers, or let’s say sisters!

PoliticsWhy Nigeria Can’t Cut Ties With South Africa Despite Killings – Ex-envoy by 2Ebisco(op): 10:58pm On Jul 28, 2018
The President of Association of Foreign Relations Professionals of Nigeria (AFRPN), Amb. Gani Lawal, has said that Nigerian cannot severe diplomatic ties with South Africa over xenophobic attacks.

Dr Lawal, a former Nigeria Deputy Principal Representative in Algeria, said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

NAN reports that killing of Nigerians in South Africa has been on the increase in recent times.

According to Lawal, “we cannot because of xenophobic attacks break diplomatic relations with South Africa because the issue is not between government and government.

”We will continue to work with South Africa to make sure that offenders are apprehended and prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others,” he said.

The former director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the issue of killings in South Africa was not between government and government but among people on the streets.

“However, South African government also has the responsibility to protect our people and also to advise them on where to go and not to go.

“We have to be able to find a ground to ensure that the attack doesn’t happen by establishing rules of engagement,” he said.

CelebritiesLinda Ikeji Replies Those Criticizing Her New Reality Show ‘made In Gidi’ by 2Ebisco(op): 3:59pm On Jul 28, 2018
Blogger Linda Ikeji’s online reality show, Made in Gidi has been receiving some backlash since the release two days ago.

Some people are complaining about the content of the show, some are complaining about it being a scripted show, some are complaining about obscenity etc.

Well, the soon-to-be mum has addressed this and said the show obviously is not for everyone and has a targeted audience.

She wrote;

“Let’s talk about Made In Gidi and those who seem upset by it. I’ve read ur comments & although I know where some of you are coming from, you also need some understanding on business 101 because whether you’re aware of it or not, lindaikeji.tv is a business, not a charity or a religious organization. It’s strictly to create content to entertain, inform & educate people.

In business, to succeed, to thrive, to be at par with your rivals, or be better than them, you must know what the market wants. For TV content, the majority of people want to be entertained more than they want to educated or inspired. If they are looking for inspiration & information they know where to go, for entertainment, they also know where to go, that’s why TV networks compete hard to get these consumers & keep them on their platforms by creating content that is very entertaining.

When TV network Starz wasn’t doing well, they created Spartacus that had more cex & gore than any TV show before it & immediately went to No.1. HBO created Games of Throne which had a lot of cex and gore to take their own market share. After being around for 25 years, MTV created Jersey Shore which many called trash but till today, it’s their most watched series of all time. Fox created Empire and Starz created Power to rival Empire, which is all about money, cex, drugs, power etc. These people know what the viewers want, so they give it to them to stay in business.

If everything we have on LITV is to educate the youths etc, 80% of the people who have registered won’t be there. Think about it, is there any religious or educative TV show that’s gone viral all over the world? That said, on lindaikeji.tv, there are so many shows on there that we’ve created to inspire, educate, and inform people, but because we know what the market wants and we need to stay in business, we are also creating content we know people want to watch despite the protest from some. Made In Gidi wasn’t created for everyone. If it’s not for you, pls do not watch.

The first thing you must think about when creating a business is; how do I stay in business? Simple. By giving ur clients what they want so they keep coming back! ”

Politics”you Are The Worst Senate President Nigeria Has Ever Had” – El-rufai Blasts Sara by 2Ebisco(op): 9:48am On Jul 28, 2018
Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has berated senate president, Bukola Saraki, for leading the worst National Assembly Nigeria has ever had.

Speaking in an interview aired on some local radio stations in Kaduna, governor El-Rufai said many of the APC senators who were announced in the list of defectors to PDP on Tuesday, said they never autrhorised it. The governor added that most of the senators who are now defecting, came into office through the goodwill President Buhari enjoyed.

He said;

“We have never had a bad senate leadership like this one by Bukola Saraki. Some people whose names were mentioned among those who decamped said they never authorised it. We know those who cannot win elections in their homes.

Many of them found themselves in the national assembly by riding on the back of Buhari. Some of them won the election because presidential and parliamentary elections held on the same day”.

He also blamed the three senators representing the state for the inability of his administration to complete ongoing projects, stating that the senators namely Shehu Sani (Kaduna central), Suleiman Hunkuyi ( Kaduna north) and Danjuma Laah (southern Kaduna), worked against the $350 million World Bank loan the state needed to complete some projects.

“We initiated many projects this year because the World Bank approved a loan of $350 million to us and we were sure that we will get some part of the money this year. We included it in our budget to be able execute our projects – schools, hospitals and the roads that we are constructing in the town. Well, you know what happened. The house of representatives approved the loan but the senate rejected it. When it was presented to the senate, our senators from Kaduna kicked against it.

They said the loan should not be granted. I was told that they ( the three senators) held a meeting and they said if Kaduna state government is given the loan, one of them will not realise the ambition of becoming governor. The betrayal of Kaduna people by Shehu Sani, Suleiman Hunkuyi and Danjuma Laah is the reason why many projects have stopped.

So I want the people to understand this. Anywhere you see that a road project has stopped, ask them. Anywhere you see that a hospital project has stopped, ask them. Anywhere you see that the construction of a school has stopped, ask them. Anywhere you see that a project that is meant to benefit the people has stopped, ask these three people that betrayed the state. Whichever part they go, use your votes against them.”

PoliticsObasanjo Finally Reveals Who He Will Support To Lead Nigeria In 2019 by 2Ebisco(op): 6:58pm On Jul 27, 2018
Former Nigerian President, Olusegun Obasanjo, who has publicly been against the Muhammadu Buhari’s led administration, has mentioned that he will only give his supports to any Nigerian who will turn the country’s fortune around for good.

According to reports from Punch, he said this on Thursday while receiving a former Minister of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs, Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta. Turaki, who is a presidential aspirant, came with a 10-man delegation that included a former governor of Adamawa State, Boni Haruna. Obasanjo reiterated that he would not rest until the fortunes of Nigeria are “turned around for good.”
He identified the dearth of “qualitative leadership” as one of the major challenges confronting Nigeria, adding that men of goodwill must not keep quiet in the face of misrule. He then called for concerted efforts from the political class towards providing the country with better leadership.

He said:

“Let me say that what is happening here today or what you’re making to happen with your delegation particularly gladdens my heart. You are firming up and stabilising our democracy. Democracy is not a destination but a journey and there is no nation that can claim to have reached the final destination. It is good for us as a nation and our democracy. We have said a lot of things that we have identified about what we need to put right as a country. What do we lack? Why are we not where we should be? We are so divided today the way we have not been before. People are deprived socially and economically. But you know, I have never lost hope.

He said the indivisibility of the country remained non-negotiable. He also accused the All Progressives Congress-led administration of “incompetence” due to its “inability to resolve some of Nigeria’s many challenges.”

While speaking with journalists after the meeting, Turaki said he came to pay respect to the former president and also to intimate him with his presidential ambition in 2019.
He said:

“The meeting has been a very fruitful one. We have discussed openly, honestly and frankly about the current situation in this country and like always, Baba was of tremendous guidance to us. Baba has spoken in his vintage way of speaking passionately about the situation in Nigeria. We believe that our indivisibility as one and united nation is given and it is non-negotiable. We feel that our unity is also non-negotiable.”

Politics2019: South, Middle Belt Leaders Battle INEC ‘for Registering Foreigners, Undera by 2Ebisco(op): 9:27am On Jul 27, 2018
Elder statesmen from the Southern Nigeria and the Middle Belt have alleged that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was registering foreigners and under-aged voters in Northern Nigeria.

Consequently, the elders rejected the current voters’ register, asking the INEC to discard it.

It also called for the immediate sack of service chiefs who they said were long over due for retirement.

Operating under the aiges of the Southern Elders and Middle Belt Forum, the elders made the demands during a courtesy call to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, in Abuja on Wednesday.

The Forum was made up of Afenifere, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the Pan-Niger Delta Elders Forum (PANDEF) and Middle Belt Forum. Members of the delegation included Professor Chigozie Ogbu, Air Commodore Idongesit Nkanga, retd, Air Commodore Dan Suleiman, former Governor Olusegun Mimiko, Cornelius Adebayo and Chief Olu Falae.

Led by Chief Ayo Adebanjo of Afenifere, the elders also demanded the support of the lawmakers in the realisation of the restructuring of the country under a federal system of government.

Adebanjo said only restructuring of the country in a federal system of government would guarantee the unity of the country.

He said: “The current voters registration exercise has been compromised and marred by irregularities by the registration of under-aged and foreigners being recorded in some parts of the north.

“Accordingly, we call for the total cancellation of the INEC voters register, support and insist on restructuring and true federalism and call on the National Assembly to immediately commence a legislative agenda in that regard.

“Anything beyond restructuring, we are not for it and we believe in championing this cause, we need the support of the House.

“By conveying the idea of restructuring to you does not mean to break up Nigeria. It is the only thing that can keep Nigeria together in peace.

“We do not think that after being together for so long we should break up but we don’t want to be in a Nigeria that is dominated by one section of the country, that is anti a section of the country and extremely pro another section of the country.

“Anyone one who is opposed to the restructuring of the country is the enemy number one. We want a constitution that is agreeable to all of us.”

CelebritiesKizz Daniel Denies Reports Of Feuding With Reekado Banks by 2Ebisco(op): 1:25am On Jul 27, 2018
Nigerian singer Kizz Daniel has debunked reports that there is any feud between himself and Mavins records singer Reekado Banks.

The singer made this known in a statement released by his Public Relations Officer, Anusiobi Franklin after Harrysong’s management claimed in a report that the singer refused shooting the video of their collaboration “Selense” because of his beef with Reekado Banks.

The Flyboy representative claimed in the statement available online that Harrysong did not inform Daniel prior to the collaboration that Reekado Banks was in the song.

According to him, Daniel only found out about Banks’ input when the song was released and Harrysong was too “arrogant” to take responsibility and apologize.

The press statement began with a quote “A little advice for the boy Kizz, respect my experience don’t be childish” a statement seemingly made by Harrysong to Kizz Daniel.

PoliticsAPC Crisis: Shehu Sani Speaks On Being Part Of Plot To Impeach Saraki by 2Ebisco(op): 3:58pm On Jul 26, 2018
The Senator Representing Kaduna Central at the National Assembly, Shehu Sani, has denied being among those allegedly plotting to impeach the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

The lawmaker described the reports as the handiwork of his opponents, adding that he enjoys a good relationship with the senate president and will continue to support him.

The senator said the accusations leveled against him will not work, referring to it as “cheap blackmail.”

In a statement on Thursday, the lawmaker said, “My attention has been drawn to a report by an online newspaper without a defined address that I, Senator Shehu Sani and other senators plotted to impeach the senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki on Tuesday, 24th 2018.

“I’m not aware of such plot whether it happened or not. And If there was anything like that, it stands condemned. I can never be part of any plot to impeach the senate president because there was never reason to do so.

“I enjoyed a good working relationship with Dr Saraki since 2015 till date and he has always supported and identified with me in my moments of travails and trials and I reciprocated the same to him.

“He has managed the senate with experience, responsibility and maturity and always respects my views even when it differs with his. Fifthly, Senate President and Deputy Senate President Ike Ekwerenmadu have managed the Senate satisfactorily and championed and sustained its independence.”

“My decision to remain in the APC or leave the party is my own choice to make in tandem with my conviction, conscience and the imperatives of the constituents and constituency I represent,” he said.

“Fabrications, concoction and outright lies and blackmail aimed at me, to force me to toe a line against my conscience will not work. Using such cheap blackmail and character assassination against me will not work.

“I will continue to support the leadership of Dr Saraki and Dr Ike Ekweremadu till the end of the life of the eight senate. Once again, my choice of party is my business and not that of any person.”

A dwarf Boko Haram suspect has admitted to having received not less than N5,000 for facilitating each suicide bomb attack carried out by the terrorists in Maiduguri.

The suspect Abubakar Kori, 25, is among the 22 people arrested by the police in Borno and Yobe for their alleged involvement in suicide bombing activities carried out by the militants.

Speaking to newsmen, Kori, who was a security guard at a filling station in Dalori, said he received N5,000 as payment for facilitating the execution of each suicide bomb attack in Maiduguri and its environs.

He also said that he participated in several suicide bomb attacks in recent months in the metropolis.

“My role is to keep the Improvised Explosive Device, IEDs, for onward delivery to another person who will carry out the attack. On different occasions, two of my acquaintances gave a parcel to keep for somebody, who will come and take it. I normally kept the parcel in my duty post; the appointed person would come and pick it; after successful delivery, they paid me N5,000,” Kori revealed.

“We reside in the same neighborhood in Maiduguri; they always told me that the parcel was given to them by one Ba’Adam, and asked me to keep it. They introduced me to Ba’Adam, who is the mastermind of the attacks,” he added.

PoliticsUN Raises Alarm Over Herdsmen Killings, Warns Nigeria by 2Ebisco(op): 12:07pm On Jul 18, 2018
The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for West Africa and the Sahel, Mohamed Ibn Chambas, says the conflicts between herdsmen and farmers in Nigeria are becoming more sophisticated and deadlier.

Chambas, who is Head, UN Office for West African and the Sahel (UNOWAS), in a report presented to the UN Security Council, said the violence was a major security threat in the region, warning that it risks changing into terrorist attacks.

“Violence between farmers and herders is increasingly a major security threat in the region and risks morphing into the terrorist attacks that have defined the security landscape.

“Farmer-herder conflicts are becoming more sophisticated and deadlier, especially in Nigeria’s Middle Belt.

“During four days in June, new spates of attacks and retribution killings between herders and farmers in this region resulted in scores of deaths,” the UN envoy for said.

In the Lake Chad Basin, Chambas said in spite of gains made by the Nigerian armed forces and the Multinational Joint Task Force, Boko Haram remained active.

He added: “The trend of Boko Haram, using female suicide bombers continues, and reportedly almost one in five suicide bombers is a child.

“The most recent attacks on a Nigerian military garrison in Yobe and the ambush of a military convoy in Borno are the latest manifestations of the threats still posed by Boko Haram.

“There is a need for increased support to diplomatic, security and humanitarian responses to Boko Haram, in a holistic manner.

“To this end, UNOWAS is providing technical support for a joint summit of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), on July 30, as called for by Security Council resolution 2349 (2017).

“Let me stress that any military response to security challenges in the region needs to be matched by the implementation of comprehensive strategies linking security and humanitarian interventions to development and human rights initiatives.

“There is also need to increase our collective efforts to address the challenges facing the Sahel region with actions that combine politics, security and development,” Chambas stressed.

Politics2019: Why Northern PDP Must Produce One Presidential Candidate – Wike by 2Ebisco(op): 3:00pm On Jul 16, 2018
Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State, has urged Northern leaders under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to pick a consensus presidential candidate in a bid to dethrone the President Muhammadu Buhari-led All Progressives Congress, APC, in 2019.

Wike said this while playing host to PDP’s presidential aspirant and former Minister of Special Duties, Kabiru Turaki, yesterday in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

He noted that all Nigerians wanted the APC-led Federal Government sacked in 2019 and all PDP needed was for the North to present one candidate who will defeat the APC.

According to Wike, “My interest is for us to have a change of government at the federal level and bring a government of positive change. Nigerians are tired of the failure of the APC. We are bringing a northerner as our presidential candidate. This time religious and ethnic campaign will not work.”

He lamented the porous security under the APC Federal Government which he accused of paying lip service to the killings across the country.

“Each time hundreds of innocent Nigerians are killed, the APC Federal Government says that it will bring the killers to book. We don’t know where the book is,” he added.

RomanceHow To Kiss Bae So They’ll Never Leave You by 2Ebisco(op): 9:24am On Jul 16, 2018
Yes you read correctly.

A bad kisser automatically raises a red flag, who wants to be with a bad kisser forever? Nobody. However a good, no, amazing kisser promises even more amazing skills in other areas and you’ll probably want to know about these ‘skills’ and stick around a bit longer.

However, besides the obvious passionate french kissing, there are many other kisses that communicate a deep love and affection for your partner, and if you do these often, it may be a contributing factor to them staying around for a long long time.

Here is how to kiss bae so they’ll never leave you:
1. Kiss him/her on the cheek.

A kiss on the cheek can show support, friendship and attraction. In some ways, it’s deeper than a kiss on the lips. These are some of the most tender kisses you can give and receive, especially if they are done quietly, a surprise smooch on the cheek speaks volumes about your love.

2. A lingering kiss.

This is the most common way to show your partner how special they are without getting too passionate. This kiss usually only lasts a few seconds, but it’s so important to the strength of your relationship.

3. A kiss on the forehead.

Similarly to the cheek one, this is innocent but shows genuine love and care for your partner.

4. Kiss him on his…you know.

Just like a quick peck, appreciating his manhood. It’ll make him smile.

PoliticsEkiti Election: Secondus Breaks Silence On Fayemi’s Victory, Pdp’s Plan by 2Ebisco(op): 10:26pm On Jul 15, 2018
National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has charged Nigerians who believe in democracy and rule of law not to be deterred by “the obvious vote robbery in Ekiti State on Saturday because it would not stand the test of the almighty”.

All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in Saturday’s governorship election, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, was declared the winner.

Prince Secondus said that Justice had the stamina to go all the way to the destination while injustice cannot as it terminates midway to the race.

In a statement from his media office, signed by his media Adviser Ike Abonyi, Secondus thanked Nigerians particularly those who stood by the party during the struggle for Ekiti and assured them that Justice surely will prevail.

He said that PDP knew from inception that rescuing Nigeria from anti democratic forces was not going to be an easy thing but had remained emboldened by the fact that Nigerians were resolved to stop the circle of bad governance, violence and bloodletting in our land today.

“What I want to assure Nigerians and other lovers of democracy and rule of law is that PDP and its partners are undaunted and will not look back until this country is rescued from the hands of bad rulers.

“I want to thank in particular the new coalition for the rescue of Nigeria, the CUPP for their support and determination to free Nigeria from the hands of APC misrule.

“The signs are there both in the spirit and physical world that God has decided to rescue Nigeria and the journey has since begun, what we need is patience and steadfastness.

“Saving our democracy and rescuing Nigeria is not going to be an easy journey but noted that what is clear is that those on the side of the people laughs last and indeed they laugh best,” he said.

He charged all PDP supporters across the county particularly in Ekiti State to eschew violence, which PDP was never associated with and wait for the rule of law which surely will prevail.

PoliticsBulletproof Vehicle Saves Lalong, Deputy As Idps Attack Convoy by 2Ebisco(op): 7:05am On Jul 15, 2018
The convoy of Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State was on Saturday attacked by Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Jos.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the incident occurred when Lalong visited one of the IDPs at Zawan to give relief materials to the victims.

Stones were thrown at the governor’s car and the vehicles of his entourage that included his Deputy, Prof. Sonni Tyoden.

Windscreen of many cars were smashed but the governor escaped unhurt as stones could not penetrate his bullet proof car.

When Governor Lalong arrived at the IDP camp, the displaced persons started murmuring: “We don’t want relief materials, we want to go back to our ancestral homes”.

Lalong, in an address before the stoning, assured the people that the State Government would do what it could to address challenges being faced by the Internally Displaced Persons.

The governor said he visited the IDP camp to see for himself the condition of the displaced persons and ensure that they received the relief materials released.

He urged them to be patient as government was working hard to ensure that their security is guaranteed before they are relocated to their homes.

Governor Lalong, who said government will hunt and arrest their attackers, reiterated that he would not allow their ancestral land to be grabbed.

PoliticsColonel Nyiam Makes Shocking Revelation On Why APC Is Party Of Witches, Wizards by 2Ebisco(op): 9:53am On Jul 14, 2018
A retired Army Colonel and a member of the Presidential Advisory Committee, PAC that packaged the national conference, Tony Nyiam, has given reasons Nigerians should not be surprised by the killings and other evils going on in the country under the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The retired Colonel said that President Muhammadu Buhari government officials’ tactics were consistent with the logo of the APC.

Speaking with Vanguard, Nyiam noted that Broomsticks which the ruling party uses as logo share similarity with covens of witches and wizards.

According to him, “What do Nigerians expect from a scarecrow-like figure carrying the symbol of witchcraft as the symbol of APC ?

“PMB should know he is a former head of state and a retired general and all these things happening under him make him incredible. They make his administration a security risk.

“One does not have to be a master interpreter of symbology to know that with such symbolism of APC, it is inevitable that we shall continue to have the bad omen we are experiencing today.

“Lest we forget, bad omen is phenomena or occurrences seen as a sign of future bad events. The broomsticks which APC members parade are means witches employ to achieve magical flight. Hence, you see depiction of witches riding broomsticks.

“The unprecedented killings of innocent Nigerians and loss of lives from national disaster are clear evidence of the bad omen.

“It could escalate to the South-East and South-South. A good example of the cruel irony of those who are taking advantage of PMB’s lack of attention to details is one recently exemplified by an aspirant to Edo State Assembly who openly campaigned for women’s rights while secretly engaging in child-sex trafficking and forcing young girls to swear to secrecy during witchcraft rituals.”

PoliticsEkiti Election: Tinubu Warns Fayemi, Olusola, Others Ahead Of Poll by 2Ebisco(op): 6:12pm On Jul 13, 2018
Bola Tinubu, a National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has urged all candidates and stakeholders involved in the Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti State to shun violence and mischief that could jeopardize the successful conduct of the election.

Tinubu harped on the need for stakeholders to be committed to a peaceful and transparent election on Saturday so as to uphold the nation’s democracy.

In a statement he signed, the former Lagos State Governor urged political leaders and other leaders of thought to speak to their subjects and followers on the need to be peaceful, orderly and respectful of other party adherents at the polls.

He warned followers of various parties against wrongful thinking, urging them to think aright and only commit themselves to a free, fair and transparent election.

The statement reads, “For the utmost benefit of the people of Ekiti, this election must be a peaceful event, free and fair and devoid of any hint of violence or intimidation.

“The anxiety expressed in some quarters and even by some concerned traditional rulers and leaders in Ekiti about the imminent poll has come to my attention.

“I particularly note the call for a peaceful and transparent poll by the consultative body of eminent elders and leaders in Ekiti, Igbimo Ure Ekiti (IUE).

“Given the high respect we all must have for the place and the wise counsel of our traditional rulers and other notable leaders, it would be remiss of us to ignore their words.

“Thus, those of us who have influence within any of the contending political parties or within the society, in general, must also lend their voice to the call for peace and calm.

“Let the will of the people prevail. In a democratic setting, there can be no greater justice or victory than this. I urge the electorate in Ekiti to exercise their civic responsibility by voting without fear or trepidation. Be vigilant but orderly and respectful of all others even the partisans of the other parties.

“We must allow the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) discharge its responsibility fairly and objectively with nothing to hide and with transparency in all its doings. Above all, this is the time for the candidates to show their true love of the people.

“These candidates say they want to lead the people to a better place. Well, let them begin now by leading their followers away from any hint of violence or mischief. Let the candidates clearly and publicly declare that they condone no misbehaviour and that they will respect the free and democratic will of the people come what may.

“This is the essence of leadership-putting the welfare of the people above your own-. Let he who wishes to be the next governor begin now by eschewing violence and disorder.

“In the end, an election is a contest of competing personalities and ideas regarding the progress of the state, not the destruction of it. Thus, the election is not a conflict of arms or a call for war. It is a matter of determining, among the candidates, whose ideas are best for the state. This cannot be done by wrongful fighting.

PoliticsHerdsman Kill Police Officer In Kebbi by 2Ebisco(op): 9:06pm On Jul 12, 2018
The Police Command in Kebbi State have confirmed the killing of a policeman, Umaru Danladi on Thursday by a herdsman at Kaoge in Bagudo Local Government Area of the state.

According to the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, DSP Mustapha Suleiman, the herder, Babuga Kuaara, is already in police custody for the alleged offence, adding that the policeman was attached to the Kaoje Police Division in Bagudo.

He said, ”We have arrested the herder, Babuga Kuaara, for killing the officer. He had confessed to the crime and will be prosecuted accordingly,”

The suspected herdsman was reported to the police division by a farmer in the area that the herder reared his cows on the diseased farm on Wednesday evening.

A witness who pleaded for anonymity, told newsmen on Thursday that “a police officer attached to Kaoje police division was ordered to go and arrest the herder who was still wandering with his cattle within the area”.

“The Police officer who came with his riffle, arrested the suspect, but as he was taking him to the waiting patrol vehicle, the herder drew his machete and stabbed the officer on his neck.

“We saw the officer groaning in pains and bleeding but he died before we could apply first aid.

“The herder was overpowered by officers who rushed to the scene,” the witness said.

PoliticsHerdsmen Have Spilled 36,000 Litres Of Nigerian Blood – Igbo In Canada by 2Ebisco(op): 3:25pm On Jul 12, 2018
A socio-cultural and political organization socio-cult , the Igbo Canadian Community Association, ICCA/Umunna, has accused rampaging herdsmen of spilling 36,000 litres of blood in Nigeria, asserting that, “nobody would want to entertain a people who slaughter and kill the way the Fulani herdsmen have exhibited within the last three years”.

It stated this while commending the decision by the South-East governors to reject the proposed establishment of cattle ranches within the region by the Federal Government, adding that it was courageous for them to announce that no state in the region will donate any land for the federal government’s proposed establishment of cattle ranches in the zone.

In a statement issued Thursday in Toronto, Canada by the President, Chief Ugochukwu Okoro, through the Public Relations Officer, Ahaoma Kanu, the pressure group said, “the unanimous action and consolidated decision taken by the leaders of Ndigbo to stand shoulder to shoulder in one voice to reject the unconstitutional, insensitive and chronically ill-intended desire of the Federal Government to establish cattle ranches for the sole purpose of cattle grazing for the Fulani herdsmen is a stitch in time that will save thousands of lives from imminent deaths, catastrophic pain and bloodshed which has become the trademark of the bandits the government is giving such undeserved preference.”

ICCA/Umunna noted that the resolve to reject ranching in the South-East was announced after a meeting held by Governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), David Umahi (Ebonyi), Willie Obiano (Anambra) and Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) represented by their deputy governors in Enugu, and that Governor Rochas Okorocha (Imo) was absent and was not represented.

The group observed that the decision of the governors was, “coming at a time it is becoming obvious that the Presidency is not handling this burning issue the way it ought to be handled. We have seen from the body language, action and utterances from the Presidency that the Federal Government is not bothered about the thousands of lives that have been gruesomely lost to this group of militants which is known to be the fourth deadliest terrorist group in the Global Terrorism Index.”

Okoro said, “It is absurd and unimaginable that the Federal Government will be thinking of acquiring thousands of acres of land from people in all states and regions within Nigeria to build ranches for the exclusive use of Fulani herdsmen who have continuously wreaked havoc, killed and maimed thousands of men, women and children as well as burnt down properties and places of worship at will without any of them being brought to book. It is troubling that a group that is well known to the security agencies are still walking about freely and allegedly threatening more attacks with no law and order enforced or any investigation carried out.”

The ICCA/Umunna stated that they stand with their leaders in rejecting ranching in any shape or form and want to make it clear that the decision of their leaders is the collective decision of Ndigbo on this issue while admonishing the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria to respect the decision.

“We would want to take this opportunity to advise the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria who described as shocking and lacking discretion the rejection of ranches by our governors to respect the decision taken by Ndigbo. It is true when we hear them say that Igbos are the major bonding elements among the people of Nigeria but we also will like them to know that nobody would want to entertain a people who slaughter and kill the way the Fulani herdsmen have exhibited within the last three years.”

“Instead of Miyetti Allah to be expressing shock and hope that ranching issues be considered dispassionately in the interest of Nigeria and the generality of its citizens, we would ask them how would they want Nigerians to agree to co-exist with a group that has spilled 36,000 litres of blood within three years?”

“With the invasion of Nimbo village in Enugu, Abbi, Uzo-Uwani, Ndiagu, Attakwu communities in Enugu State and Abala community in Obingwa as well as the experience our people at Umuguma and Irete communities in Imo State have gone through coupled with the never ending attacks in Benue and plateau States, Ndigbo will not want to host any cattle ranches for anybody as our people need our farmlands for agriculture,” Okoro said.

ICCA/Umunna, however, advised the South-East governors to go a step further to consolidate on security in the states to protect the lives and property of Ndigbo within the region by establishing vigilante groups to effect community policing within and around the South-East states.

Crime4 Years Old Child Disappears During Service At Christ Embassy by 2Ebisco(op): 10:51am On Jul 12, 2018
The family members of a four-year-old, Elo Ogidi, are in distress over the disappearance of the child during a church service at the headquarters of the Christ Embassy in Oregun, Lagos.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Elo was with the maid during the church’s children thanksgiving service last Sunday when she went missing.

The Personal Assistant to Elo’s father, Solo Cosmos, told our correspondent on the telephone that Elo’s parents were too distraught to speak.

Cosmos, however, said efforts to find her had been abortive, adding that the police had yet to have a clue on the whereabouts of the pupil.

He said, “The family were all there at that thanksgiving service and Elo was with the maid, who took care of the three kids of the family.

“Cake was shared for the children during the thanksgiving service and the maid went to get the kids’ slices. But when she returned, she discovered that Elo was not on her seat again.

“We got information from a child that he saw Elo outside the tent where they had the children thanksgiving service. The kid said after Elo came out of the tent, a woman grabbed her hand and took her away.

“We immediately organise a search party but she was not found.”

He said the case was reported at the Alausa Police Station but was transferred to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Yaba.

Cosmos told PUNCH Metro that the family had been in distress as a result of the incident, urging anyone with information on her whereabouts to contact the police.

The Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, Bulus Musa, confirmed the incident, adding that it was a case of kidnapping.

He said, “I am aware of the case and we are working on it. We are still investigating the case.”

Politics2019: Senator Abe Speaks On Coalition Of 38 Parties by 2Ebisco(op): 9:14pm On Jul 11, 2018
The Senator representing Rivers South East at the National Assembly, Magnus Abe, has finally reacted to the coalition formed by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and over 30 other parties ahead of the 2019 general elections.

The lawmaker was confident that although the parties were trying to copy the All Progressives Congress, APC, they cannot achieve the success recorded by the ruling party.

“What is happening now is a very poor imitation of what we did to the PDP during the last elections,” the former PDP member said during his appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily on Wednesday.

He added, “It’s just people trying to imitate what has happened before without knowing that the circumstances and environment have changed dramatically, and what worked at that time is not necessarily what will work now.”

Magnus said that unlike the PDP, the APC was able to penetrate the then ruling PDP and win aggrieved strong members of the party into its fold.

The lawmaker said that the ruling party cracked the PDP by pulling out about six governors of states which the opposition party would have leveraged to retain power in the 2015 elections.

He said, “When we left (the PDP), we walked out of the convention with governors, with senators, and we shook the party from its very foundation; nothing like that has happened here.

“In this new movement that you are seeing here, I didn’t see any selling governor seated in that hall. You have 40 political parties – some of these parties don’t even have a councillor, some don’t even have offices and what is the impact of that?” the lawmaker questioned.

He insisted that the coalition would have no effect on the APC, although the party may have some challenges in Kwara if the Senate President and the governor should leave.

Senator Abe was optimistic that the APC leadership under the watch of Adams Oshiomhole would do its best to address the concerns of aggrieved party members.

“What I would say is that clearly in the All Progressives Congress, mistakes have been made within the party … but the emergence of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole has given hope that some of these issues can and will be addressed,” he said.

PoliticsEkiti Guber: Drivers Withdraw Services Over Alleged Threat To Life By APC by 2Ebisco(op): 1:17pm On Jul 10, 2018
Ahead of this Saturday’s governorship election in Ekiti state, drivers’ unions in the state have withdrawn from the roads, citing alleged victimisation by the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The state Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, Clement Adekola, told journalists on Monday night that their members would not work on Tuesday to avoid bloodshed.

President Muhammadu Buhari is expected in Ado-Ekiti Tuesday (today) to attend the mega rally of the APC governorship candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.

Adekola claimed that he and other leaders of driver unions in Ekiti state had come under serious threats for supporting the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate, Prof. Kolapo Olusola.

“I have been receiving strange calls and even told that thugs from Ondo State have been hired to attack our members and perceived supporters of Governor Ayodele Fayose.

“We decided to withdraw our services from the roads so that they won’t carry out their threats tomorrow (Tuesday).

“We initially thought of parking our vehicles in our houses but we are not safe. So, we decided to run to Government House for protection.”

Adekola said the Commissioner of Police, Bello Ahmed, and the state Director of Department of State Services, DSS, Mrs Promise Iheanacho, did not respond to their petitions, hence they ran to the governor.

The chairman of Pickup and lorry drivers’ Association of Nigeria, Atowoju Adekunle, said no intimidation or harassment would change their minds from voting for the PDP candidate.

“We may have to withdraw our services until our security is guaranteed. APC should not boil this state,” he said.

PoliticsWhat Falae, Fayose Said About PDP Alliance With R-APC, Others Against Buhari by 2Ebisco(op): 7:40am On Jul 10, 2018
A former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and Minister of Finance, Chief Olu Falae, has commended the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, R-APC and 38 other political parties.

R-APC, a faction of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, on Monday signed a memorandum with the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and other parties ahead of the general elections.

The main objective of the agreement is to defeat President Muammadu Buhari in 2019.

Falae, lamenting the “gross incompetence” of the APC-led government, advised all parties to the alliance to support not only a sole presidential candidate, but sole governorship, senatorial as well as House of Representatives’ candidates across all states of the federation.

He said, “All our votes must go to the presidential candidate and to the governorship, senatorial and House of Representatives’ candidates in every state of the federation.

“It is not sufficient to produce the President alone because if we have a President who does not have majority of seats in parliament, there will be a challenge as to what the President would be able to do.”

Likewise, the Governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, who spoke to the gathering through the telephone, said he was happy that the process that would send “Buhari away has commenced.”

According to him “The Federal Government was using security agencies to intimidate members of his party and supporters ahead of the Saturday governorship election in the state.”

This is coming at a time the New Peoples Democratic Party, nPDP, faction of APC announced their breakaway under a fresh alias, R-APC.

R-APC had also announced Alhaji Buba Galadima as its interim National Chairman.

However, chatting with journalists in Abuja, the business mogul said the APC leadership was committed to resolving its crisis amicably.

He noted that the leaders were in touch with all aggrieved members to ensure that the party was not consumed by the crisis.

He said, “We have through our new chairman engaged most of them to get them back.

”The kind of jubilation, what you people want to have is not what we have at the moment, because we will control it. It is a family matter, in every family you quarrel.

“Tinubu is busy, he is talking, everybody is busy, and in all arms of the APC we are busy talking to everybody as much as we can. Ali Modu Sheriff and everybody you can think about, we are busy talking as much as we can so it is a family matter.”
