I said OK and about to pay him.. Then the man said will dis 1 litre be enough for my car.. I told him its for generator and he laughed and said its a waste of money... That I should go for (SAE 40) I asked for the price and he said 1800... The price gap is too much that I asked him why... He said total is really meant for car and the SAE 40 is good for generator... I left the place and told him I'll come back later... Please my question now is that... Will the sae 40 be good for thermocool TEC 3.75KVA generator?

He is right. Sae40 is ok for Tec generator. I have one ( the blue 3.5 kva) since two years ago and have been using sae40 since
with heavy usage and no technican have touched it. Just change oil when due and it has been perfect. There was a time my area have no light and it was working everyday with my fridge and other small appliances.

Buying cost of the Volvos on auction have now gone up,too many people are now interested

And ,yes, customs increased duty, but it's somewhere in the region of ₦100k difference now, that's not the main reason for price hike

That said, serious buyers know to call, come for inspection and get a discount too.

be happy you still have a good generator. The carburetor will hardly develop issues as sludge from the tank and petrol won't be flowing into it

Make sure u check d coil.. if it's copper �(both d big coil and d small 1 inside the big coil)..the engine block and carburator.. if kemage is engraved on it and also the tank.. copy and Nigeria assembled gen with kemage tank plenty outside oo..

For those that are shouting fireman upandan.. lemme tell you this.. they say the part is common.. most of those part repair man will buy for you is fake.. because the original is expensive... There was a guy that said he bought kemage gen n 5 litres runs for 11hrs or so n he don use it for a yr with no issue.. my point is.. don't b deceived by parts.. wen my lutian had problem, nah this same fireman part d repair man said he will put.. n it worked 5n. Other brands dey very ok.. giving d fact u're buying d real thing... That's y I advised people to go for thermocool (if u don't mind d noise) or better still maxi.. n make sure u're buying from their accredited showroom(check Google for this).. n this 2 products even av their own repair center in major cities... U see all this elepaq, lutian n sumec... U might not b able to identify real from fake...

Pls tell me more about this Kemage generator, which of the models are you referring to? And how can i know the original?

Don't mind those senseless marketer trying to ruin the thread, we have always advice prospective buyers to go for either original Sumec Fireman or Thermocool gen. I believe other brand like Maxi, iTec, Kemage are also very good.

Which model of Kemage will you recommend for 3.5- 4.5 kva?

House what do y'all think about Tigmax generators. Their brand seems way cheaper than others for the same KVA rating. I'm seeing around 90-105k for the 4.5kva manual starter online.

Is it worth going for this brand?

Lemme add that my aunt's been using one for over 4 years now. It's serving well but she's had to change half engine so far. I think earlier this year.

Oga, avoid any car that has gear issues. Run from Nissan, sienna, accura, these cars Main problems are their gears

Currently, the 5cyl engine is more expensive than the 3.2l 6cyl engine, but for components like compressor, alternator and steering pump, the 3.2l 6cyl is more expensive

On a more serious note, i shouldn't be trying hard to convince people to dump older cars and move on, except of course finance is the main reason for not looking forward

That Tec Optima major 3.5kva na small but mighty generator, I search for the whole Thermocool shop but it was out of stock, but I was lucky to see one on jiji, the owner was just broke and wanted to sell....

The only issue was the kick starter (Changed it for 5k and bought new battery).... I bought it for 120k and the gen was still looking brand new .... And the generator is very sexy

It carries my washing machine (Though it's an Inverter washing machine) and my 200 L chest freezer comfortably with TV

You can even remove the tire without need for spanner and it's not heavy

How much did you buy the battery?
Mine is getting weak
