Ok, now i have gotten over the fart phase and really read your thread. To me the woman is immature and not ready for marriage. It is also obvious you married a semi-illiterate. Who will honestly say they had a university education but cannot speak in public correctly. Are you sure of her kangaroo education? With this limitation it is better she goes back to school or take english calsses because she will never get a job if she cannot communicate properly. You married a local person, maybe out of love or a feeling that she will respect you more we dont really know. So now she is disrespecting you like a local woman shouting to the neighbors all her problems. The fact is at the moment the shop you will get for her will be her best bet to any kind of job. Also, she may be resenting the fact that her friends are doing something with their lives and she is just sitting at home wasting her years. Sit her down and ask her what she wants to do. She will tell you. Also be very realistic and tell her her limitations and make her tell you what she is willing to do about it. If she is too lazy or proud to go back to school to improve herself, then she will have to settle for a business. Make her understand that by doing this business does not mean she will now start misbehaving and neglect her duties. Because as soon as she goes to that level you will withdraw support from her business. What you are doing is fine, do not listen to people telling you to emotionally abuse her. She should learn to apologise when she is wrong and mean it. Also you should apologise when you are wrong. This is a characteristic of a mature and emotionally stable person with a conscience. Although i think you need to take some charge in your home, and stop playing with her too much. Also, when you are telling her you do not approve of some behavior, use a very stern and serious voice so she will know you are not playing at all. This is the method used by parents for their children and animals by their owners. If you want to pass on a serious message and take control of a situation, you have to master a serious tone and a serious look. If she still misbehaves, report to her parents and tell them you will send her back to the village if she does not change. They will talk to her.

Ekiti is a bad and underdeveloped like every other Yoruba state. Yorobah states remains the poorest Nigeria has seen in the 21st century. The last I passed thru, is it akure to ondo town to ibadan on a federal government assignment, because nothing could have taken me to such places, I saw the dehumanizing level of poverty in the southwest. It was worth crying for. I saw their caves and mud houses in the state capitals. I saw the level of mal-nutrition and healthcare, its pathetic. I wept for the yorobahs. I was asking where are the obansanjors, the adenugas, the otedolas. Na waoo yorobahs can be so wicked even onto themselves.

At the topic: Ekiti to the best of knowledge is not supposed to be a state. It should have been designated as a local council.

This very serious!

NJC probe: Panel indicts Salami
…Exonerates Katsina-Alu

From GODWIN TSA, Abuja

Thursday, July 28, 2011

The National Judicial Council (NJC) probe panel investigating allegations of professional misconduct against the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) by the President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Ayo Salami  yeaterday came out with its report, which reportedly indicted Justice Salami for perjury.

The five-man probe panel, which reportedly exonerated Justice Katsina-Alu of complicity in the Sokoto governorship appeal held that Justice   Salami lied on oath for alleging in a sworn affidavit that the CJN instructed him to manipulate the course of justice in the Sokoto State governorship election appeal.
Describing Salami’s allegations as baseless, the Justice Umaru Abdullahi-led panel in its report presented to the Council said there was no evidence of financial inducement in respect of the Sokoto governorship matter.

The report of the panel, which was subjected to serious deliberations at the Council meeting, according to sources, also established that Justice Salami connived with chieftains of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) with respect to the Osun and Ekiti governorship appeals.
But the report gave other Justices of the Court of Appeal who sat on the Osun and Ekiti governorship appeal panels a clean bill of health saying there was no evidence that they were financially induced to give judgment in favour of the ACN.
On the issue of the controversial MTN call-logs, the panel reportedly recommended that the matter be further investigated by relevant security agencies to determine their relevance to the allegations against the jurists.

Governors Oni and Oyinola who were members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Osun and Ekiti state chapters, had accused the election petition tribunal panels of engaging in unethical conversation with some chieftains of the ACN, which they alleged aided the favourable judgments that the party got in both  states governorship election appeals.
The petitioners further furnished the Justice Abdullahi-led probe panel with records of call logs between the accused tribunal judges and politicians that allegedly secured favourable verdicts against the sacked governors.

The fight between the two legal giants moved to the law court where Justice Salami threw a bombshell alleging in his sworn affidavit that he was approached by the CJN to compromise the Court of Appeal’s judgment on the Sokoto governorship battle.
In the originating summons filed by his counsel, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), Salami who joined the Federal Judicial Service Commission, the National Judicial Council and the Attorney General of Federation (AGF) as defendants said he was asked by the CJN to either reconstitute the original panel, which he (Katsina-Alu) believed was about to give a verdict adverse to the governor’s interest or direct the panel to give judgment in the governor’s favour.

He also sought an interlocutory injunction restraining the defendants jointly and/or severally, by themselves, and all officers, servants and functionaries of the government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria or otherwise, howsoever, from recognising, acting on, doing anything in recognition of or putting into effect any decision of the defendants purporting to appoint the plaintiff to the Supreme Court as a Justice of the Court pending the hearing and determination of the Originating Summons.
He made the startling revelations in his supporting affidavit including the fact that he had all along enjoyed his work as President of the Court of Appeal and did not have any issues or disagreement with the 1st defendant (Katsina- Alu) until the controversies over the gubernatorial election petition in Sokoto State came to light.

“I set up panels of the Appeal Court to dispose of the pending petitions including that of Sokoto. I was, however, shocked when subsequent to the setting up of a panel on the Sokoto Gubernatorial Election Petition appeal, and after all parties had filed and exchanged briefs, adopted same and judgment reserved the 1st defendant summoned me by telephone to his office in Abuja,” he said.
According to him, “the 1st defendant (Justice Katsina-Alu) asked me to disband the panel I had set up for the appeal on the excuse that if the panel allowed the appeal and removed the governor, the ripple effect would lead to a removal of our highly revered Sultan of Sokoto.”

He told the court that the CJN “could not convince me on the logic predicating his reasoning more especially as the Sultan was not a party to the election petition and as there is no nexus between any of the parties and the Sultan, so I told him I would not disband the panel”, adding that “Katsina-Alu then said in the alternative that I should direct the panel of justices to decide against the Appellant. To this again, I still said no. That I would not do anything to pervert the cause of justice.

“When the matter came before the 3rd Defendant (NJC), the Committee set up to look into the complaint vindicated me and in clear terms told the 1st Defendant, he had no constitutional and statutory power to stop proceedings in any division of the Court of Appeal as he did. Since then there has been no love lost between the 1st Defendant and me. That the appeal in the Sokoto Gubernatorial Election Petition, which was pending before the Sokoto Court of Appeal was eventually dismissed by the Supreme Court on 21st November, 2010 notwithstanding that the appeal was not before the Supreme Court.

Justice Salami told the court that the decision to move him to the Supreme Court was taken in his absence. In what looked as a coup, Justice Salami revealed that he was actually encouraged by the CJN to attend his aunt’s eighth day prayer, especially because there was nothing on the agenda serious enough to compel his attendance.

He alleged that the purported meeting of the 2nd Defendant (Federal Judicial Service Commission), the 1st Defendant directed that the deliberations should be kept a close secret.
The plaintiff who accused the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Muhammed Bello Adoke of playing a part in the plot to remove him said “at the purported meeting of 2nd February 2011 before the commencement, the 1st and 4th Defendant (Attorney General of Federation) held a private secret meeting in the chambers of the 1st Defendant where the plan was hatched for my removal to the Supreme Court.”

He feared that “the game plan to move me to the Supreme Court will facilitate the efforts of the 1st defendant to plant his own minion or stooge as the President of the Court of Appeal to do his biddings as and when needed.

As the Council continues its meeting today, it is only the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice that could commence a perjury case against Salami.
What a sham and a joke of a panel. So this person from the North is the head of the panel. Where is the independence of this so called kangaroo panel? And the bolded above in big fonts show that PDP people are saints and did not openly rig the elections. PDP should not play with our intelligence and should leave Salami alone. and stop the witch hunt. PDP lost in SW end of. They cannot charge him with anything, all they could find on him was lying on the CJN. What a fraud. Did they find evidence or phone call logs to prove this too. They should try to remove Salami and see now. idiots

Well the man violated the contract. He cannot sell the land without her signature. She should be able to repossess the land. And the person it was sold to can pursue the husband for compensation. Except she was building on the mans land, and he just put her there as his wife. If she is co-owner, the land cannot be sold wiithout her signature. If it was, the man can be arrested for fraud. She should just go to court with her documents.

Written by Adebayo Ajagunna.

On the 6th of February 2011, Mrs Oyetola Oluwaseun Spiff (Nee Odunlami) who we all simply called 'Tola' a 36yr old mother of two boys and the marketing mnager JKK Komputers Ikorodu Road, Lagos, was brought in unconscious brought in unconscious to the Obanleaje Hospital Obanikoro Lagos at about 3pm by her husband Mr George Ikoli-Spiff. When Tola was brought into the hospital, George kept insisting to the hospital staff that Tola took poison after they had a serious quarrel. The hospital staff asked George how he knew it was poison, but he couldn't provide no satisfatory answer.

Tola ultimately passed on the 9th of February 2011 and the autopsy report confirms she was poisoned, since then her father and brothers with the help of the Homicide Team of the Nigerian Police Force have been working day and night to get to the root of what is beginning to look like a murder investigation.

TTola’s older brother Mr. Abiodun Odunlami a UK based solicitor has led the family’s effort so far. Last week Wednesday the Police extended an invitation to Tola’s husband George to come in for questioning in respect of the investigation, the invitation expires on Wednesday 27th July 2011. Since the Police invitation, Abiodun’s life is being harassed consistently by members of George’s family. On the 23rd of July 2011 at about 6PM a certain Mr. Anthony George Ikoli called Abiodun imploring and pressuring him to prevail on the police to withdraw the invitation to George, in a call which could pass as a threat, he informed Abiodun that he is not only the Attorney General of Bayelsa State , but that he was also a SAN and could make one phone call to Abuja to make life uncomfortable for the entire Odunlami family. He also told Abiodun that he belongs to many prestigious socio/political organizations in Lagos insinuating that he could make life further uncomfortable for Abiodun if he doesn’t back off.

For those of us who knew the ever smiling beautiful Tola Odunlami in FGGC Owerri and in UI or who were touched by her absolute warmth during her short career and life, please help circulate this note and implore Mr George Ikoli-Spiff to honour the police invitation before the 27th of July as requested, if he has nothing to hide I don’t see why he should be afraid to go and say what he knows to the police, afterall he was the last person that was with Tola alive. We are also appealing to the “big man” Mr. Anthony George Ikoli to allow the police do their job afterall we are in a democracy. We are also telling Mr. Ikoli that we join hands with the Almighty God to keep an eye on every member of the Odunlami family, we pray for everyone’s sake that nothing happens to anyone of them especially, Abiodun.

GEORGE IKOLI-SPIFFF please GO AND ANSWER THE POLICE to CLEAR YOUR NAME. God will expose whoever had a hand in Tola’s death. Lets keep Tola's picture on our profile till those invited by the police show up on Wednesday.

No one will lose a loved one in a questionable way and not seek to know d "how?" & d "why?". No one is presuming or passing judgments on d tragic death of TOLA SPIFF; what we are requesting is that NO ONE stand in d way of d ongoing police inquiry and that ALL PERSONS OF INTEREST invited by d police, should respond and co-operate so that this can come to a quick closure. Its d BEST way forward for ALL parties.

WE LOVE YOU TOLA, and we need to know what took you away from us so suddenly. RIP pleasant one.

Power intoxicates, and Nigerians are known to prefer to die in a federal position e.g Yar Adua. Someone with an intention to "serve" his country will do so within even 2years. But those willing to rob, will be looking for enough time to rob. e.g Obasanjo and the 3 term saga. He knows a second term will be almost impossible as everyone is fighting for 2015.

Yes I know a lil about Ogedengbe agbogungboro smiley

@2mch: I never read anytin about Ile Oko relating to Lagos or Benin. Badagary was a settlement of Gunus and some other tribes from Ghana, Togo and Dahomey. Later, some exiled Prince from Lagos moved there. Just as Lagos Island was a settlement of Brazilians, Serria Loanians. Who r the Saros and the Agudas.

Funny thing is that, lagos is no man's land. Different settlers settled at different areas.
Lagos is someone's land. Please if this is your conclusion to where you have been running about you should have said it a long time ago. Lagos belongs to the Awori, Ijebu and Oyo. You see for yourself that it is surrounded by Yoruba states even in Benin Republic side of Yoruba,  Look at a map to help you. Now, the people in badagry that you say settled there spilled over from the Yoruba side of Benin republic, and the ga lived on the coast or on the lagoon not on the land. The saro  and others are Yoruba returnees, you see them in even cameroon still bearing Yoruba names. Also the fact that brazilians let slaves keep their culture and kept similar ethnic groups together on the same plantations, makes it easy for them to maintain an identity and go back to their villages on return to Africa. If the Benin wanted a war camp they would have settled in Badagry. Badagry is very big and would have been closer to Dahomey. Rather than setting up a "war camp" on lagos island alone. rotflmao. Lagos is Ile Oko, end of story. It was a farm for people of Ogun state, both for fishing and other foods. Especially fishing.

According to my school's history -LaSu

The portuguese named lagos 'Logos' when they came in the 15th century. Corruption of Logos result Lagos.

Eko means camp to Benin Kingdom, settling near the Dahomey kingdom for conquering them.

Awori didn't names lagos not peper first. It was named Idan Garan by Akran Gbafoe from Badagry.

Someone asked about Ikorodu, it was founded by an Ijebu hunter, I forgot his name. He names Ikorodu as Oko Odu which means a farm of Odu vegetable. Which corruption results Ikorodu.
Anymore questionshuh
If what you say is true and let us assume it is true about Eko, would the Benin not have settled in Badagry if they wanted to make a War Camp? Or Benin people were just avoiding all the troublesome people to come and flex on an island? Oh please, our Benin cousins need to give this up. Eko simply means Ile Oko. Just like someone said Ile Ife means where is escaped from, rotflmao and dying.

Alaafin Sango was the son of Oranmiyan, the king at Oyo. That his mother was nupe does not mean he was Nupe. Most Nigerian societies are patriachal, so Nigerians claim their father's origins.

You are a funny chap. Why do you think Benin avoided the Yoruba states who were all involved in internecine wars and headed to the only state that wasn't warring? Secondly, have you heard of an Ijesha man called Ogedengbe Agbogungboro? He was the General of the Ijesha and Ekiti Army. Do you know that Oba Ovonramwen paid Ogedengbe not to wage war on Benin?

Lagoon in Portuguese means Lagoa and not Logos.
Rotflmao, dont mind the revisionists. If you see the path they took to lagos, it was obvious they were running from some people

@2mch, do you have a sense of History? There is a subject in History which is called 'Inter-Group Relations'. Do you know that one of the Princes in the ancient Benin Kingdom was called Prince Ogun? The Benin People and the Yoruba people are Kith and Kin cool cool. Benin influenced Lagos a lot. Are you blind, mate sad sad sad sad?  Can't you see the way the Oba of Lagos and his chiefs are dressed during ceremonies? Are they not dressed the same way Benin Chiefs are dressed? Are they not wearing the same white robes and tops with red beads? You're saying Ogba is a Yoruba name shocked shocked shocked  Are you aware that some people in Delta State ( A Benin Kingdom vassal state in the past ) have their surname as 'Ogba'? e.g Solomon Ogba ( Former Delta State Sports Commissioner ). Have you heard of the Omo-Agege's of Delta State? Wake up, my friend. 'Eko' is a Benin word which means 'War Camp'.

No Yoruba Kingdom could face Benin at the heights of its Power cool cool cool cool. Go and study History more. Cheers.
hahahahaha, this guy is crazy. The only reason why Benin was not run over by Yoruba's is the relationship between both ruling houses otherwise una for don hear am. Now, Ogba means surrounding area in Yorubaland, i dont give a toss what it means in Delta state. Besides if all these names are Benin names how come you are referring to Delta to prove your point? Shouldnt you be referring to Edo state? Look guy, your Benin empire would have been overrun by Ijebu. Ijebu and Egba are warring clans of Yoruba. Awori are mostly fishermen and farmers, they are not warriors. Also the Omo-Agege guy is Urhobo. Are you telling me Urhobo people also have influence in Lagos? Look here, stop spreading lies. Wikipedia is not a reliable source because it can be edited. If you dont know this go back to school. Also, you pointed out the there was a prince Ogun in Benin. Are you not shooting yourself in the foot here? So that means Yoruba have more influence in Benin. Ogun is a Yoruba name, Olokun is a Yoruba name and Iya oba is a Yoruba name. What do these things mean in Benin? Look swallow your propaganda.

This benin people sha! Abeg make una leave the Eko issue alone. The whole of Lagos was a farm for Ijebu and Awori's. It means Ile Oko. You can't tell me the Benin influence extended to Ikorodu, to name the whole state a war camp. They would not have survived a war with the Ijebu. And Ogba means surrounding area. What does it mean in Benin? Please stop spreading false stories. Walking fronbLagos to Benin is far enough for you to assume it would have been a war camp in those days.
