Politics › Re: GEJ Contacts Retired Military Chiefs Over Escalating Attacks by 2mch(m): 4:36pm On Sep 01, 2011
Why cant GEJ be honest with himself for once and save his office by firing his security chiefs and hiring competent ones. He hired incompetent friends who have no track record of intelligence or excellence in their field to be in charge of security in a volatile country like Nigeria. There are capable Nigerians even within all the armed forces that can do the job well. If he cares about his job, he will wake up and stop doing business as usual. Recycling old trash does not change the fact that it is still trash. We see how people like Marvel Akpoyibo handled Lagos when he was there, but this man was removed and taken to God knows where. When you have that kind of talent in Nigeria, they dont encourage it, they frustrate the person. I dont blame Bakare for calling Nigerians fools. Will GEJ retire if under Gusau's watch Boko Haram become worse?

Never make any permanent changes to your body, because one day you may outgrow the belief/fashion. Nothing is constant in this life except change. Humans are constantly evolving and changing. You better go and raise the $12k for the man and reverse the thing. When you were being americana, you were not thinking about the future and did not contact us. Now that water don pass garri you are here in pain and looking for mercy. Raise $12k with hotel and hospital bills abroad. Hopefully you did not do the vasectomy in a backyard place where they castrated the guy, otherwise you will just have to divorce and go your own way. These stu*pid people are the cause of everything that is going on in Nigeria. I wonder who gave Boko Haram people the liver to import bombs and bomb Abuja if they did not start it. They should all be rounded up and prosecuted one by one. What have they achieved for the common South Southerner? Apart from enriching themselves? How have they made the lives of the people in the SS better? Sharrap! They are to blame for setting this precedent. They cant even succeed in the foreign countries they sent them to. What a big waste of Nigerian resources and very very bad decisions by GEJ government for giving them handout instead of improving the average SS'ners life.

It starts with immigration. Some Nigeriens do not even know that Nigeria is different from Niger. It might as well be the 37th state. Those people commit so many atrocities in Nigeria. Especially high way robbery. Also, our government must wake up. The old way of doing things is no longer working. It is time to end corruption and do what is right. I believe if Nigeria is set straight, it will open up great opportunities for the continent. We need to start respecting ourselves, develop national pride, and stop causing embarrassment for ourselves all over the world.

THE investiture of the ailing Biafran leader, Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, by Igbo Youths Movement (IYM) was almost disrupted in Enugu on Wednesday, as about 1,000 youths suspected to be members of the outlawed Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), who came to witness the event, were arrested by the police for allegedly being in possession of Biafran flags.

It was learnt that the Igbo activists were alleged to have dressed in Biafran regalia to the IYM event.

If Jonathan can release this group, then he is setting a funny precedent for Boko Haram. He should have just let the courts handle it and decide to release them. The president is always interfering in the judiciary. I dont blame him, he is not a lawyer. But his blunders show that his advisers are just regular educated illiterates all around Nigeria. He should reshuffle his cabinet and look for serious advisers. He is going the wrong way very fast with all these gaffes

I have been in this situation before i met everybody brothers, friends, uncle. I was introduced as fiancee but he never took me to his place. He had d perfect story he is squatting with married friend, d place is not presentable but with time he will get a place. He was charming i believed, but my mind was not still at rest so i started digging and I found out he was married with kids. I left immediately but till today he still denys being married even with all my proof. Today i am dating someone we are not Being Intimate but i know were he lives. No matter how bad a mans house is at least he will take you there.
Gbam! OP is gullible. Even if he sleeps on the floor under his sister's bed, there is nothing wrong in you meeting the sister, afterall he must be old enough to be in a serious relationship. Dont deceive yourself, a man can introduce girls to friends and family even if they are married. Some families and circle of friends dont see a big deal in a "small iyawo" on the side.

YES!!

african and nigerian culture accepts it!!

but a lot of naija women dont like it, and start playing (MORE) politics in the home, so,

it depends on what u want?

if u love him enough, and u think he has the resources (including time, money, attitude and love) to satisfy you, without putting the other woman at an impossible position, then go for it!!!

dont believe the men and women here who are saying all these things - in naija, if the man can afford to build (or rent) one house/flat for his 1st wife and children, and can do same for you, then no problem

i have a european woman, and a naija woman, the european woman is ok about it

the naija woman can be a bit (politically) difficult but, its all good - just costs a lot of money though, but is made easier for me because i live in my own house, my kids from both of them wifeys come to me, and i dont live with any of the women too, so, makes it easier - costs money though

goodluck, have your own mind, dont believe in these people here dont care about u, only u can care for yourself - dont 4get that
Traditionally the culture tolerates it. Historically, it was practiced and was common as monogamy. Having multiple wives culturally was a sign of wealth or a need to have people that can work on a farm for you. This does not mean that monogamy was not as common. Personally it is a personal choice. This woman you claim you are also married to, can you go out and boast about being married by courts in two different countries? Did you ever disclose this fact that you were married in Nigeria when you were struggling for paper or is this white woman a baby mama. The fact is that no matter how wealthy you are, your quality of life reduces drastically when you create multiple mouths to feed. There are also a lot of lazy men that marry desperate, multiple women and put them to work so that they can give them (the man) salary every month. An enlightened person in this day and age will stay away from polygamy. It is because of polygamy we have many street urchins that are now bombing all over the place. There is no attention to the child, lack of funds and lack of the necessities. I have a feeling that your second wife who doesnt live with you is a baby mama and is collecting money from the government to feed your kids. If she lived with you and the government knows you are earning salary, you will be solely responsible for all their upkeep. This is what is know for a fact.

WilWily:
If you are listening to people like Oni you have problem with your brain, was it not thesame Oni and Yoruba Elders that Sold Abiola for 200million Naira.
If i listen to people like you then i rather be brain dead. In case you have not realized, the Abubakar camp have come out to categorically state that Yoruba elders did not take money on Abiola. So you have failed there. Also, in life you will learn discernment and the ability to discern the truth. Yoruba's need to mobilize and speak with one voice so that we can only ever hear echoes from far away from people like you. If they are going to fight for their interest at the state level by voting ACN, then they should mobilize in their interest on a national level. Although these YCE elders are political jobbers known as big associates of PDP. I will not be surprised if all this show was organized by Jona and his mumu handlers who have been misleading him. In a ploy to show some kind of relationship with the SW post the Salami tragedy.

Abdulsalami camp opens up… How Abiola died

From AKIN ALOFETEKUN, Minna

Sunday, August 28, 2011
After weeks of keeping quiet, in the face of series of allegations by Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, the erstwhile chief security officer to the late General Sani Abacha, over the death of Chief M. K. O. Abiola and the killing of his wife, Kudirat Abiola, reactions have finally come from the camp of the former head of state, General Abdulsalami Abubakar.

advertisement

Speaking on his behalf, in Minna, Niger State capital, Alhaji Shuaibu Badeggi, one-time director-general, publicity under the administration of Governor Abdulkhadir Kure of Niger State and spokesman of the former head of state, described Al-Mustapha’s testimony in court as tales by moonlight.

To Badeggi, Al-Mustapha is either mentally deranged or a perpetual liar, who believes that such lies, if told persistently, would hoodwink the gullible and confuse the judge.

He also gave a graphic account of how Abiola died, submitting that neither the United States government nor General Abubakar had hand in his death. He also threw a bombshell on the alleged coup in which former Chief of General Staff, General Oladipo Diya in the Abacha government was convicted.

“As far as I am concerned, Diya did not organise any coup. Abacha and Al-Mustapha themselves did, in order to eliminate those he (Abacha) felt could antagonise his ambition to transmute into life president following his adoption by the five leprous parties,” he said.

He absolved Chiefs Abraham Adesanya and Bola Ige of any wrong doing, describing them as “too above board to receive bribe.” He charged Al-Mustapha: “Defend yourself against the allegations that you sent Jabilla Rogers to kill Kudirat Abiola and stop the rigmarole.”

Looking at the Nigerian judiciary critically, what is you assessment?

I believe in the capacity of the Nigerian judiciary to right the wrongs and also in the Nigerian constitution, as a tool that upholds the fundamental human rights of individual citizen. I equally believe that criminal justice in Nigeria may not be that perfect, when compared with what obtains in Europe and America, but our judges are trying their best under difficult conditions.

Recently, Major Al-Mustapha opened his defence, where he made several allegations over Chief MKO Abiola’s death and others. What’s your take on this?

These are nothing but tales by moonlight to divert the attention of gullible people to the fundamental case of the dastardly murder of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola. The diversion can’t help him and can’t set him free. He should know that the ascension of General Abubakar to power was a kind of rendezvous with fate, in the sense that by all imagination, the General cannot be counted among the people that aided and abetted the annulment of the June 12, 1993 election. Secondly, he was not a hustler for power. He never involved himself in any coup, real or fathom. When Abacha died, his second-in-command, Diya, was in prison over a coup that was organised by Abacha and Al-Mustapha themselves to eliminate those he felt could antagonise his ambition to transmute into life president, following his adoption by the five leprous parties.

Abubakar was never perceived as enemy to Abacha, so his coming to power was ordained by God and not through any premeditation or ambition.

Al-Mustapha made allegations about Abiola’s death, to the effect that he was killed…

At the Oputa panel, we heard Al-Mustapha saying Abiola was beaten to death. Today, he is telling the world Abubakar murdered the man. What I know is that this guy is either mentally deranged or he is an officer trained in the art of lying. Abiola could have died of stress occasioned by frustration. First, look at the calibre of people that came to advise him to jettison his mandate. The like of Kofi Annan, Emeka Anyaoku, Susan Rice and Thomas Pickering advising him to drop his mandate could be frustrating for somebody who had suffered so much in the hands of Abacha. He was treated like a common criminal for four years only to come and be advised to just go home. It was more than enough to cause cardiac arrest and death.

Imaging Al-Mustapha saying Adesanya and Bola Ige collected bribe to kill June 12. That is a pathological lie as far as I am concerned. These men were too above board to collect bribe. Look at somebody, like Adesanya, only providence saved him from the Abacha killer gang. The allegations beat my imagination and that is why I say he has mental problem, thinking that if he implicates people, he could be granted state pardon.

A criminal like that would have been beheaded in a sharia state, like Saudi Arabia; even in Europe he would have been jailed long ago, rather than allow him to abuse court processes of seeking adjournments on flimsy excuses. They should have jailed him. Thank God the like of Dr. Ore Falomo are still alive. International pathologists conducted post- mortem examinations on the deceased politician. The same thing for Susan Rice and Thomas Pickering. These people can still be contacted, so that they can tell the world what they know about Abiola’s death.

What do you know about Abiola’s death?

What I know is that America has no reason to want to kill Abiola. What would (Bill) Clinton gain by Abiola’s death. Susan Rice does not work for CIA and Nigeria is not Cuba or any Latin American country, like Brazil, Chile or Argentina. Abiola was not murdered. The advice from the eminent persons could have shocked and frustrated him and caused him stroke and eventually, death. Al-Mustapha should defend himself against the allegation that he sent Jabilla Rogers to kill Kudirat Abiola. He should leave General Abubakar out of this. He should prove his innocence and stop creating diversion and legal confusion that will not save him

Violence and corruption goes hand in hand. When people have lost hope because of corruption, they will take others with them. Forget. The most dangerous and easily manipulated person is a hopeless person. And we have many of them. Nigeria is a time bomb waiting to happen, there are people getting poorer and poorer each day. They far outweigh the rich. All these people will carry bombs easily if someone assures them that they will take care of the families they leave behind.

Yeap! It is called traditional marriage. Afterall traditional marriage is all about the extended families exchanging dowry and showing intent/interest in a union. Not so much the children involved. Now court marriage or registry where you sign the contract and are bound by law requires the presence of the couple.

Well i will not bribe for my child to pass an exam BUT, i will most likely bribe to have the score released or to have my child placed in his right department. These Nigerian institutions are crazy, they can frustrate brilliant kids who do not have the money but have worked hard to pass their exams and deserve not to be in Yoruba department. Sometimes you need to do that little something to just push things along. I am against bribery for exams, courses or settling profs. But placement in the right department and entry into a school that he should have entered by his own ability, i will do it. undecided. Until Nigerian institutions stop placing kids in useless courses that have nothing to do with real life jobs, skills or their interests then i will stop. In Nigeria you will see and engineering graduate working in a bank. wtf huh undecided
