When has the FG ever protected its citizens? If they didn't do it in the 60s, why would they do it now?

But your people fought to keep this country one.
Look your one track mind does not count here. No one is talking about your inferiority complex and concerns. The fact is that Nigerians from all over the country died. Lagos is responsible for 60% in IGR of that country. It will be silly for the senate to try to score cheap political points in the event of a disaster where lives have been lost. Most of the FG's infrastructure in Lagos is at a deplorable state. They should show some responsibility and fix it if they want to keep collecting money from Lagos. Afterall it is the commercial capital where most investors will go to, and form opinions about investing in Nigeria. It also shows up PDP as a very ridiculous party worthy of nothing in Nigeria. David Mark should be put in his place. cool
so when will ACN have a rethink
It is not about ACN having a rethink but the federal government protecting its citizens. Every citizen has the right to vote for who ever they want to vote for. That does not give the FG the right to result in childish games like this. If this is the route they take, then Lagos can as well plan to look out for their own interest as the FG has decided to say categorically that an ACN state is no longer part of Nigeria. They can now take over the ports, and charge the FG. If the FG will not take responsibility for its useless infrastructure in the state, then they should be turned over to the state. Maybe SW states should come together and hold a conference based on this decision by the FG. cool. Because it is becoming apparent that we are no longer Nigerians. At least this is what the senate is telling us. And to those  ACN senators sitting like lame ducks in the senate. What a disappointment that none of them voiced out an objection and challenged Mark.

What i get here is that the government has the capacity to hire 43000 workers and pay for them. Since this was the case for the past how many years? There is high unemployment. Creating 43000 jobs should be a slight relief to some. The government should investigate the financial and accounting departments in these ministries and have those that stole through this means refund the money and retire them without pension. That should stop others from running this scheme in the future.

not at all, my brain is not leaking but i can bet me life spermflakes occupy the space your braincells should be.

polygamy is not an arrangement with a certain understanding. it is forced on the women in that household. having a family outside is a betrayal of trust and everything a man stands for just like bringing home a second, third, fourth and fifth wife. as at the time the man married his first wife, they signed "for better for worse" and in nigeria, the subsequent wives in that household are not even legally bounded to their husband.

mostly it's always a case of the man keeping an affair for x number of years outside his home and then deciding to bring the wife home after she has been knocked or some other related issues. . . .so it's still the same betrayal, same lack of trust, same dishonesty, same shyte!
i don't see the difference between a standard polygamous setting and a man busting his nut secretly, you simpleton!!!
This guy is too daft. This must be kobojunkie. Very senseless stuff up there. Polygamy is not an arrangement without an understanding? Then what is it? I assure you, your brain is leaking. Hence your inability to rationalize common definitions. If your conscience is pricking you, so it hsould because cheating by either spouse is wrong and should not be glorified. The effects are not worth it to your children. You children are your legacy and foot print in this world. It should not be you giving them spiritual, emotional and mental issues. I hope you gather your brain from the ground next time you decide to use your spare 5 mins to think with the only brain available to you at this moment, that makes you type like a brainless idio@t

what arrangement? i ask. . . . .it's the same ish - the kid in the link you provided couldn't stand his dad with another woman. kids raised in a polygamous setting grew up seeing their dads with different women. dad hopping from one bedroom to another is even more grotesque. my point is. . . .t.i.a.(this is africa). . . .such things are so normal, without it happening life would be abnormal.

there must be more than 400,000 members of this forum from a polygamous house - not all of them have written such about their fathers so it means polygamy worked for some. and what makes you think a compact nuclear family does not have it's own issues too? why spend so much money on another person? you want to advise a full-grown adult how to spend his own money? grin
You sound like kobojunkie, arguing just for the sake of it. The fact remains Polygamy is an arrangement with a certain understanding. Having a family outside of your own family which was joined by God and under religious law is a betrayal of trust and everything you stand for. It shows weakness, poor judgement and lack of foresight. It also shows heavy immaturity. A mans word should be everything to him. If you know you cannot keep your word, you have no business swearing marital vows, or you risk losing the right to be called a man. For your son to come out in the future and say you did not teach him to be a man is a very big blow to any father. You have been faced with a thread about the other side. And how children of a cheating spouse truly feel. I showed you this and you deviated to polygamy. Is your brain leaking? If you know you are an unrepentant cheat, then dont marry under the belief of monogamy. Marry as a polygamist with all parties understanding what the deal is. At the end of the day, it is your pocket that will have holes. Taking care of two children adequately in this day and age is hard enough. Goodluck to you man-boy. grin cheesy

what should the kids raised in a polygamous home do then?

#sighs#. . . . . .but then some married women also stare at men when they are with their husbands. hell, there are reported cases of married women shagging everything in sight at the nysc orientation camp in that same nigeria. i have been told married women are the most dangerous and the most sexually-aggressive while serving their fatherland.
A polygamous home is cheating to you? The people in a polygamous home are aware of the arrangement. And most of the people i know that come out of polygamous homes have horror stories. Right now all you think about is feeding your libido at the expense of your children's future and happiness. Does that make any sense to you? I know i dont want the same for mine. Why spend so much money on another person, when the money can be invested in your children's future. Respect is earned not bought.  I wonder if you will like to see your child open that kind of thread about you.

He wont realize until you tell him. Not everyone is endowed with common sense. And a lot of people do things as long as they can get away with it. If the issue is brought up, not in a confrontational way but in something like a family meeting starting with prayer (lol). He may fight you because that will be the only way to react after being discovered and feeling some shame. But in the back of his mind he will think about it and will most likely change. For you all to tell him all this will make him a better person. Try not to disrespect him. Until you move from this stage in your life, you will never be able to be successful at the other stages. If he decides not to change, then you guys can carry on as a family without him. When you start work, look for a mentor and get close to him so that you can learn what your father failed to teach you. Be the person that brings the family together by always checking on all of them and reminding them to check on others too. When your father sees that life goes on without him, and that your mother is the one getting all the attention, he will start looking for ways to be involved.

BUHARI SCRAPS OLD NAIRA NOTES AND CIRCULATES NEW CURRENCY IN ORDER TO RENDER STOLEN / SMUGGLED CASH WORTHLESS.

Nigerians waited in long queues outside banks in Lagos on April 25 to change old notes for new. Nigeria's decision to scrap its currency and start again with a new Naira marked a sudden stepping-up of the military government's attack on corruption.

The government announced on April 24 that banks would start changing new notes for old the next day.
Brigadier Tunde Idiagbon, who ranks second in the new administration, said in a national television broadcast that the country's land borders would be closed immediately in a move to render the old Naira worthless abroad.

The changeover will extend to May 6.In that time people will be allowed to change up to 5,000 old Naira for new notes. Anything over that amount must be deposited in banks, accomplished by affidavits proving source and ownership -- another move to pinpoint corruption.
Brigadier Idiagbon said the withdrawal of the old notes had become necessary because rampant smuggling of Naira had been a key factor in the sabotage of the Nigerian economy.

He said that hundreds of thousands of Naira had been found in the homes of several former state governors after the civilian government was ousted on December 31 last year. (remember in 1984  1Naira  fetched more than 1 dollar)
Since April 25,  bank officials have been trying to move the new money across the counters as fast as they were receiving it, but many have complained that people were forced to queue for hours outside banks which had run out of money to distribute.
This is desperately needed again. cool shocked. Very brilliant idea. Some people will die! grin grin grin cheesy

Reasons why you should not justify cheating or be proud of it as a parent. It is wrong and should be seen as a weakness on an individuals part. Look at what a beneficiary (the child) of cheating, is going through as a result of his father's infidelity? People should think wide and remember every action has a repercussion.
Family › Re: Your Kid's Might be Strugling To Love You Just Like I Am. by 2mch(m): 7:53pm On Jul 13, 2011
Well since you have identified the issue, i am sure as the second born you can call your siblings together and discuss it. It is not normal for you all to relate with each other that way. I know you want to think about your mother, but you people have been thinking about her too long at the expense of your happiness. If asked she will also say she is thinking about you, that is why she is pretending and trying to ignore the issue. All of your have grown up enough to work and take care of yourselves so the benefactor excuse is not reasonable. In the future you will need a tight knit family, as your siblings will be all you have in life and in old age with regards to immediate family members. Start the discussion with your siblings and then talk to your mum about what this is doing to all of you. Avoiding the situation will not make you happier, and may manifest heavily in other aspects of your life as you begin to work and get married. It is better for your mother to face the issue now, and the man causing it than when he dies and she is running from court house to court house. Even then the shame it will bring will be more than you all can imagine. Ignoring an issue will not make it go away. It will only make it spread and get worse. Just like cancer. shocked

Initially africans that went abroad went to work as free workers. Not as slaves. Until Europeans got smarter and realised that they were so far from home any way and their people would not know the difference if they were mistreated and unpaid. Europeans learnt the idea of slavery from African's who were the original slavers, but treated their slaves with a bit more dignity. Almost every rich home or chief had personal slaves. So yes, Africans had been traveling for a long time in search of work, adventure, education, etc. Not every slave in Europe went there as a slave. Some were indentured servants or free workers.

This story is the repercussion of an unfaithful spouse. See how it is affecting the children emotionally and in every other way. This is why people should try to be considerate with your actions. When you cheat, you are not just cheating on your spouse but on your future. Most Nigerian's invest in their children so that their old age will be comfortable. If all your children hate and dislike you like this? Tell me where you will be when all your girlfriends have run away and your children don't want to see you in old age, because of all the unhappiness your actions brought them. Selfishness should be dropped when it is time to marry, and people should learn to be faithful. That 5 mins of satisfaction is not enough to tear down your legacy and future. At the end of the day, you are only destroying yourself, your family, your future and your generations. Exposing them to outside forces who can bring serious harm to them. This is very bad.

@OP,

I am sorry, you have serious issues you need to address. Moving out of the house will not make you a better person. You all need to call a family meeting. You are all old enough for your parents to listen to you. It is time to confront your father and you all should speak about your feelings. There are so many issues you are dealing with that will greatly affect your relationship even when you move out. You can not find happiness in another human being, it must come from within. Your father needs to be confronted and all the facade your family is putting up needs to be torn down. They will not appreciate it now, but it will bring you peace and shame your father and make him face his own wrong doings. He is a coward and a very shameless man. Quite disgusting that he is so highly placed and knows how to fast and pray over your trivial issues but not over his ability to destroy his marriage and his children. I am also sure that the act of pretense is only for your family. News travels fast. I wont be surprised if your whole congregation knows about your father's activities. So who are you all fooling? He is destroying you, in every way possible. Dont let him get away with it, and cause you people much more pain when he dies. Please confront this issue, and tell them what is on your mind. Speak out! Goodluck to you.

You are so stupid. How can you be willing to kill a man because he and your wife willingly had a consensual relationship? You will just waste your life for nothing. The man has a wife and children. Will you deprive the children a father because of your childishness and stupidity. To even add to your stupidity, if you kill him with your poor man self they will likely kill you. After 6 months your wife will move on. If you know you cannot move on with your life, then divorce your wife and get someone else that is perfect and does not have human yearnings and feelings. You left the country as a man without making arrangements to see your family. Is your wife a statue? My friend go and sit down and learn to be a man. You also need to learn to act rationally, and stop being a hot head. Should your childish attempt fail, you will be the biggest loser and will lose your freedom. ode. No one, not even your wife is good enough for you to lose your freedom and life. They will pity you for 6 weeks and then move on to the next person that is more sane than you are.
