Good for her. She speaks with her Nigerian accent, and is not suffering from inferiority complex. She also speaks in a clear and concise manner. I can see her becoming a CNN anchor. She has the grace, intelligence and clear speech to make us proud. However, she is also very smart to see the benefits in selling her story as opposed to working for the pay master. She is a force to reckon with, and at the same time keeping her dignity and not looking like a coon. Funmi keep being you, your uniqueness and Yoruba heavy accent is what makes you who you are. People get turned away by fake people.

With the National Assembly quarters in Abuja retained by their outgoing counterparts, the 343 new lawmakers at the National Assembly are to draw between N3 million and N5 million for new houses as they resume work this week.

The Assembly leaders said the amount is to cover annual rental cost for new accommodation for each legislator, after a controversial government monetisation policy transferred titles for the Abuja Apo legislative quarters to former lawmakers who were not reelected.

The ownership rule has drawn the condemnation of some legislators as they face a raft of uncertainties, as the Senate and the House of Representatives resume legislative duties. Each new Senator is receiving N5 million for a new place in the federal capital territory after an initial demand for N7 million (and an upward rental fee for three years) were reportedly rejected by the senate leadership.

But yet they receive kickbacks like N1billion for accommodation each. 1 step forward, 100 steps back. Who are we fooling here? The collapse of Bankole's tenure he is talking about, who benefited most from it? Tambuwal. He can never cleanse himself of that saga.

This height on insecurity in Nigeria; why do the COAS and the IGP still have thier jobs? I wonder why Marvel Akpoyibo was not given the position of IGP considering what he was able to do in Lagos while he was there. The COAS should also lose his job. How can the army come out and make this ridiculous statement? A tleast they now see that they are not safe collecting N50 again. Maybe the fear for their lives will make them work instead of poo like this:

Family › Re: Is It True That Ladies From Broken Homes Are Not A Good Wife Material? by 2mch(m): 4:04pm On Jun 29, 2011
yep, i think so. A spouse from a stable and balanced home is more ideal. Do proper investigations before marriage and the problems that may come up in marriage will be easier to solve. This also applies to men, not only the women. A woman whose mother was chased from her home for infidelity is much more likely to repeat her mother's mistakes. These mothers are also much more likely to come and interfere in your marriage. They hardly understand the consequences of their destructive behavior. Likewise a man that has seen his father beat, cheat on or insult his mother is more likely to repeat the same behavior. misery needs company.

It is best you stop sending the money. The child does not even live with its mother, but with another caretaker. You also dont really know if the child is really yours. If it was really yours then i dont see whay your baby mama should keep him away from you. How can you keep spending money on a child you have not seen? Stop the payments immediately until you come to an agreement. If she refuses match over to her caretakers house and take your child away. If the child becomes a criminal or miscreant in the future, he will answer your name not his mothers name. In Nigeria the child is the father's property anyway. So what she is doing, is something that you can correct very easily. It is for the childs best interest. How can the boy not be in school despite you sending money? Stop sending money to her, you are not married ot her. She is an adult and should find how to take care of herself. The child is your only responsibility.
Politics › Re: Yoruba Council Of Elders (YCE) Wants Tambuwal Tried With Bankole by 2mch(m): 3:37pm On Jun 23, 2011
Supported. All the leaders of the HOS who conspired to obtain the loan and give themselves significant raises should be prosecuted. Bankole did not benefit from that Loan. Tambuwal, Ihedioha, and Gbajabiamila did. So the EFCC if it is going to play catch the criminal, should do a well rounded job. YCE are real elders. Not the ones selling positions and imposing people on the whole SW. Believing they speak for the SW. You can tell these agresssive minority, with the way they spew verbal diarrhea on this thread.

A suspected suicide bomber has been reported dead in this morning‘s twin bomb blasts at the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja.

The twin blasts went off at the car park of the massive complex knwon as Louis Edet House around 10.40am on Thursday morning.

Unconfirmed reports said the bombs went off shortly after the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Hafiz Ringim, arrived at the complex.

A number of police operational vehicles were destroyed in the incident while the body of the suspected suicide bomber was charred beyond recognition.

The entire area was cordoned off while a traffic jam ensued in the area.

The twin explosions caused a pandemonium as policemen, civilian staff in the building as well as visitors, passers-by and occupants of nearby buildings fled to safety.

The spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency, Yushau Shuaibu, said emergency response teams were swiftly mobilised to the scene of the explosion. He said in an SMS, ”NEMA has successfully cordoned off the parking lot of the police headquarters. A suspected bomber died in the incident. Many vehicles were destroyed.”

THE PUNCH will provide updates as they come. The police headquarters is a minute‘s drive from the gate of the Presidential Villa and three minute‘s drive from the National Assembly. Fear spread through Abuja immediately news of the blasts broke.

On May 29, a bomb exploded in a drinking joint in Zuba, a suburb of Abuja, leading to three deaths.

On October 1, 2010, twin explosions claimed a number of lives near the Eagle Square, Abuja, where President Goodluck Jonathan and other foreign and Nigerian dignitaries were marking the Independence Day at the Eagle Square, Abuja.

There have been a number of explosions in Maduguri, the Borno State capital in North-East Nigeria and some other cities in Northern Nigeria.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, security agents recovered explosive devices from some parts of Kaduna, the capital of Kaduna State in North-West Nigeira.

On Wednesday, there was a bomb scare in Ibadan. On June 6, while Ogun State Governor Ibikunle Amosun was delivering a speech at the inauguration of the state house of assembly, security agents discovered a bomb in a part of the complex and swiftly detonated it.

Family › Re: I won't marry you cos your mother has "Cancer" by 2mch(m): 7:43pm On Jun 14, 2011
No one is immune from cancer. Everyone can have it. Some people may just be more susceptible maybe because of some weakness in their genes. Cancer is basically your body betraying you and your cells acting abnormally. Even the guy can have it, so can any of his family members. I hope karma does not happen to them in which they will learn a valuable lesson. The human body is frail and fragile, and so many things can go wrong. It can be caused by environmental forces or genetic weaknesses. Cancer can strike at anytime and to anyone. A lot of undetected deaths in Nigeria, if looked into well would probably have been a cancer of some sort. Ignorance is a disease.
