Kx: You have a choice to buy at that price or move elsewhere and buy at the normal price.
FYI. Fuel stations along Lagos Ibadan Expressway, Berger Bus Stop, Ibafo, Mowe, Redeem etc sells for N110 per liter worked out with a calculator while the metre still read N97 per litre.
However, fuel stations in the island, precisely Total-Sura, Mobil-Onikan, Oando-Marina etc still sell for N97 per litre with no queue. Now what kind of rude choice is that? There has not been any announcement on official increase of the price. Why would it be the same marketers who are paid billions of dollars in subsidy that will give me such a devilish choice to make? |
Car Talk › Fuel Is N120 Per Litre In Lagos Petrol Stations by 2Mekus(op): 11:21am On Sep 25, 2012 |
Got a rude shock this morning when I drove to some filling stations at Ago-Palace, Okota in Lagos to top-up my car-fuel tank. The attendant calmly told me they sell at N120 per litre. Yet, the metre still indicates N97 per litre. Clutching a hand-held calculator he grinned at me as he announced the price. I could only mutter a curse on him as I speedily made a U-turn and drove away. But my check at the next three stations indicated the same. There was no queue; in fact some were empty and with the product available, it is brazenly being sold at such high price.
Whatever happened to the government Regulatory Agency tasked with the responsibility of checking the excesses of these Shylock Marketers? |

When did Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit become Federal Road Safety Corps, Police or the so-called LASTMA to arrest motorists? The problem is that every single area-boy in Lagos State-owned uniform sees himself as authority on the road and thus has the power to arrest other road users. You need to see some of them behave even worse than soldiers and yet they have the guts to arrest other traffic offenders.
Fashola need to curb the excesses of those boys by educating them properly on the limitation of their duties. They are worse than soldiers and police combined. |

Politics › Habeeb Bama (ex-army Boko Haram Boss) Is Dead by 2Mekus(op): 4:15pm On Jun 22, 2012 |
Captured bomber of UN Building dies of gunshot wounds
A suspected cell leader of the Boko Haram sect, Habeeb Bama, who was arrested on Tuesday in Damaturu, Yobe state by the Joint Task Force (JTF) is reported to have died at an undisclosed hospital.
Habeeb Bama who allegedly masterminded the bombing of the police headquarters in Abuja and the bombing of Saint Theresa Catholic Church, Madalla, reportedly died as a result of injuries sustained in a shootout with the joint task force before he was arrested.
A source within the JTF who confirmed Bama’s death to Channels Television, simply said, “he could not make it having lost so much blood in his bid to engage the joint task force in a shootout.”
The late Habeeb Bama, an ex- army Private who was declared wanted by State Security Service (SSS), for his alleged role with Boko Haram, was arrested in a shootout with security operatives on Thursday, sustaining injuries.
Bama was declared wanted by security agents in February, after the Madalla Church bombing following his alleged complicity as revealed by the captured spokesperson of the sect, Abul Qaqa.
Bama is Kanuri by tribe hailed from Bama, Borno state. -- Channels TV I hope this is true. We don't want him to resurface abroad after someone would have aided his escape. |

acidtalk: What in the world is going on with Nairaland Moderators these past months?
Must every post make it to the front page? Most especially very sensitive ones likely to cause National and International unrest? Now what would you that should make the front page? Rif-raf talks or issues of national interest?
The Passport in question might have been expired or fake for all we care. Journalism is all about findings.
The poster should have provided the passport number, visa details, name on passport before such story could be confirmed as being true.
We all know the length at which Nigeria could go to travel out of the country through hook or crook means. Even if the passport has expired or does not contain valid visa, does the Policeman have the right to shred the evidence of his accusation? Whatever happened to decorum of arresting an offender? He simply has something else in mind for tearing a national document of other country.
If the story is true, Let him report to Nigeria high commision/embassy in South Africa and if he has and nothing concrete has been done then he should forward the information to us here. As if you don't know how those at the High Commission/Embassy would treat the matter -- a non issue.
Then and only then will we all rise and ask for the recall of the Higher Commisioner in South Africa.
Seun be very careful, yourself and your moderators need to have regular meetings and discussions on how to operate this forum because it appears you all are loosing it by each passing second.
Just a harmless advice. |

I have personally met a man who championed the sinking of those Bibles on the sponsorship of Abiola/IBB. He was a one time Jihadist in the name of their allah. A prominent grand-son of Late Uthman Dan Fodio. He is now a borne-again Christian and goes by the name Blessed Usman. He confessed to the crime at a congregation and gave a graphic account of what happened and how he was arrested by the Lord when on a mission to kill the late Idahosa in Kano.
So it is true that Abiola paid for the destruction of Holy Bibles on the high sea. |

Calradised: Recently, Senior pastor T.B. Joshua of Nigeria Showcased a Number of young talents of various fields who are being supported, trained and encouraged, by the Man of God, not only to bring out the potentials in them, but to to help in addressing global leadership problems. It was a display of Godly love, care for the youth and above all, a genuine concern for the future of our world.
Unknown to many people, a quiet revolution, such that would affect the world in a most profound positive manner has already started at the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Lagos. Nigeria. Lives are being changed, communities are being cleansed, evil forces are being publicly disgraced and disarmed, the less priviledged among us are being given sense of belonging, the hungry folks are being fed, the sick are being attended to and the very poor ones are being empowered and made rich. Its trilling watching each passing scenario. But why are some of the Christian ministries and men of God not doing the same? why are some other ministries exploiting their members, why are they only requesting for tithes and not using same to improve the lives of the widows and orphans? Why are they not concerned about the well being of the people? Most importantly, why is T.B Joshua not being recognised by some of these ministries across Nigeria? What are the errors of Pastor T.B Joshua. They should feel free to let the world and the man himself know so that he can be corrected.
http://en.netlog.com/achimuguisaac/blog/blogid=7168095 They maybe doing the same but don't want to publicize theirs to be recognised. The Bible says 'The Lord knoweth them that are His". Somethings are not always what they seem to be. That's all I can say. |

pendo89: A photo purportedly showing Whitney Houston in an open coffin has been published on the cover of this week’s National Enquirer.
The casket photo shows Whitney lying dead in her golden casket, wearing a purple dress and a diamond broach and earrings. Also, she’s reportedly was wearing jewels worth $500,000 and had gold slippers on her feet,
The picture is believed to have been taken inside the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, where her family attended a private wake last Friday. The magazine claims the photo was taken at the private viewing.

purefella: Frankly speaking bombings and killings never stopped since it started in other countries like afghanistan , iran , usa and couple of other countries like that ., i don't think boko haram can be eliminated and if they do another group will rise. i support with GEJ we must learn how to live with it. period Now how do you learn to live with bomb? Your type should be bundled out of this country. You don't belong here.
Briareos: The way the government is handling this investigation is overly terrible. Every bread crumbs, bullet casing and hair strands are been broadcast like a breakthrough,
What happened to undercover intelligence investigation?
Isn't it obvious that the best way to handle this Boko Haramists is infiltration?
Im not surprised that they haven't make any tangible progress, How can you publicize the arrest of one their members and expect them not to cut ties with him or block any way the arrested will lead the authority to them? The publicity equally creates fear in the camp of Boko Haram. Ever heard of the word 'propaganda'. It is always used as a tool of war. Recently, Kabiru Sokoto confessed he never believed he could be caught. He said he had always believed to be invincible. The 'broadcasting' too calms the nerve of the public and indeed the security agents have made tremendous success in the war against these animals otherwise they would have extended their bombings to South West and even East. Kudos to them. |
