Politics › Re: Criticize President Buhari: Don't Insult Him by 2nattie(m): 7:59am On Mar 28, 2020 |
Kayceenaz: It is becoming almost second nature for most Nigerians, both the educated and non-educated classes, to cross the line while pouring out their hearts on national issues. I agree, there are ample question marks on how the President Muhammadu Buhari-led government has acted on and reacted to socio-political, economic, and religious matters; spanning from federal character, insurgency, ethno-religious skirmishes, education, malfeasance, to now presidential invisibility before this coronavirus pandemic.
Naturally, we feel betrayed, used, and insignificant to the presidency. Not paling in comparison to status-quo that should be, your feelings are indeed valid. But letting this emotional pain lead you to hurl insults of all sorts at President Buhari, as rampant online, is an overreaction. As you call him unprintable, reprehensible names and ridicule him through jokes/memes, remember he is fallible, someone's husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and holds office of President of Nigeria. It is enough to beg to differ with and criticize constructively his leadership style plus policies. Using constitutional and moral means to show displeasure are in order. Look emotional intelligence's way.
Disturbingly, some people even wish Buhari death, hoping news of his demise filters in soonest. If that's not a representation of the Scriptures' observation that "The heart of man is desperately wicked," then it must be of something worse. If you fall in this category, kindly stop now! Such comments are humor taken too far.
As events unfold and we watch with disappointment, anticipating the National Assembly does the needful and saves the day, let us (Nigerians) amplify our voices to be critically loud enough, not insulting enough.
©Kaycee Naze, Rational Pen. Buhari hasn't gotten one-third of what Jonathan got in terms of abuse and insults on nairaland alone. Every leader (performing or non-performing) gets ridiculed by people on time or the other. Donald Trump has been called all sorts of unprintable names but he doesn't whine boit it. The saying ' uneasy lies the head that wears the crown' comes to mind. I dont see anything wrong with the so- called insults and abuses. As far as I am concerned, they should spur him to more positive actions and not whine like a little girl whose doll got snatched by a bully. If I may ask, how many constructive criticism has he taken in good fate? How many has he acted upon? I dont know why any body will even bring up this topic. What geniune attempts did he make to diversify the economy? Lets be truthful to ourselves a government that blames its woes on the preceding one is not ready to work. The honourable thing to do is for him to resign and let more competent, sound and healthy people take up the reigns of the administration of the nation. And history will judge him as a true elder stateman who has the interest of his country at heart. This do or die attitude will not end well. I rest my case |

ValCon888: South Africa has over 700 cases and they clpsed their borders before ours. NCDC is under reporting the results. At least 500+ people in this country have the virus right now. And that's based on the lowest estimates. According to NCDC reports less than 10 persons are affected in Abuja but the donations from Jack Ma was hijacked by the Abuja goons from Lagos which has more than 35 cases. God help the masses |

Any advice? You'll be fine. Just follow your passion. In this time and age, the knowledge of computer is very key. Try and learn something new about it. New ideas are springing up there everyday. Look for one that you have passion for and key into it. In my opinion, i think you have gone too far to quit Biochemistry. Just finish it up and try something in computer. Its usually fun. |

saaron: Lagos state govt ban of Okada operators, though painful is in order. I support it. Majority of those operating motocycle transport in Nigeria are illegal aliens from Niger Rep, Mali, Chad etc, smuggled into the country throught Northern Borders. Most of them are terrorist, agents of terrorist and big time criminals. These people are all over the Middle Belt committing all kinds of criminality. Northern borders is the gate way of islamist terrorist into the country. Even as I write, thousands of illegal aliens are brought into the country by Northern elites for diabolical reasons. We will never get it right with security of our regions if we're still yorked with the North. They are the culprits importing terrorists into the country. The earlier our Regions disintergrate from the North and form independent countries free of terrorism, the better for us. We have nothing in common with Northern Nigeria. ONE NIGERIA IS DEAD!
