PhonesRe: Samsung Mock Apple Before Iphone Release by 44chux(m): 10:24pm On Jul 25, 2014
NEROSKY: Lol each time I Watch that Samsung advert mocking 5s i laff my as off! But truth be told, iOs is really a good os, Samsung just pack lagging features to phones, leaving the important things behind, like good built quality, sleek design.. Samsung should sack whoever that's in charge of their phones design, if only iPhones can come up with removable battery, expandable memory n limit their much restrictions, then Samsung n Android is gone! Because apple iPhone 5s with A7 chipset that works like Android octa core 2x,, Is definitely the fastest & Smoothiest Smartphone in the world, you use iPhone 5 series for good 5 hours without lag or hitches, use Samsung for that long and your 2gb RAM will be eaten up and phones starts showing some lags in switching apps... You can quote me, I'm using S3, and i haven't used any iPhone either but noticed all this from 4s with mere 512 RAM.... All the same, i have seen Android L Developer version, is powerful and smooth but IOs override it, So when buy any of the flagships phone, if you don't mind restrictions and un expandable memory go for iPhone 5 series but if you care so about freedom and expandable s5
My S5 always gets hot, and the battery don't last a whole day. If u erroneously live the wifi on, battery goes from 100% to 15% in 6hours. Called samsung care and they said its normal for the phone to get hot. Don't ever advice ur friend to buy S5. If they insist on samsung, then make it Note-3
Music/RadioRe: Worst Rappers In Nigeria by 44chux(m): 1:36am On Jul 24, 2014
I think OP has 4gotten what music truely is:
Getting ur rhythm tight, words correct, punch line on-point, and ur msg logical might help u pass a music exam, but it will never win u Glo 9ja sings or Nigeria's got talent, let alone make a HIT (which some of these artists have done)

sexylogan: Ok. Good to know. The Interest rate is high though.
Keep seeking and u will find...
Personally, it isn't high considering u spread it over upto 4years and by that time inflation has devalued the buying power of same capital. Eg compare the prices for a litre of petrol and a bag of 50kg cement in say 2006 vs today. Extrapolation shows they must alway climb higher.

Nissan Urvan is zero percent. Just wait till December for hot deals

babestell: Ok have heard

At all science graduates on this thread. Please there are a whole lot of opportunities for you in the Oil and Gas industry. Just come out with a very good grade and anything is possible. You can even go ahead and do a masters in engineering and behold you can do an engineers work. Its not by first degree but what exactly you end up doing.

Cheers
Entry qualifications determine career path.
HND becomes an operator (spends his productive years on a distant field) running d machines
B.eng travels from field to field gathering info, diagnosing and troubleshooting anomalies and processes upsets, approving plans and designs, etc
B.sc ends up in the base office doing paperwork.
Itz very difficult to migrate from one to the other path
Car TalkRe: Toyota, Kia Okay Nigeria’s Assembly Plants by 44chux(m):
JaaizTech: Well, I know I will get my fare share of criticism for being pessimistic. There is so much talk about Automobile plant here and there and yet no one knows where the Automobile factory ishuh No one has seen videos of the automobile plant. I mean these are things the manufacturers will be so glad to show case; but yet all we have seen are computer models of the cars to be manufactured.

Toyota and Kia can sound promising, but that is the politics of the Business World. They can make all sorts of grand statements but with little commitments. Let us see the plants first, then we will start believing.

Now to Economics... Why Did Peugeot Manufacturing plants Failhuh why are there Automobile manufacturing plants in South Africahuh Is it because of a policy they madehuh Why did Indomie Noodles build manufacturing plants all across Nigeriahuh Did they need any special incentives from Govt. to do thathuh No. the answer is Economics.

Parting Question: HOW ECONOMICAL DO YOU THINK IT WILL BE FOR TOYOTA TO MANUFACTURE CARS IN NIGERIAhuh
Daily it becomes harder and harder to dream about the day I'd own my first (affordable) made in 9ja car...

Meanwhile companies like nissan are already assembling, but these remain exclusively for the upper class for now

sexylogan: Sad but it's true.

I don't know why in Nigeria, owning a car is a staus symbol (whether it is a Tokunbo) not to talk of buying a new car.

When will Nigeria adopt the practise of loan purchasing as most countries do...U pay a percentage as downpayment

for the new car, let's say 20% and the remaining you can pay in monthly installments over several years.

Owning a new car shouldn't be a big deal but our leaders will prefer things to remain as they are now.
Auto financing for new cars has been in existence for as long as I can remember although its usually at prime lending rate of between 21-28% per annum with 30% initial equity contribution on owner's part. My first kia was purchased through firstbank in 2006

Whenever there is major face-lift or restyling of the model there is always a promo at zero percent interest to clear old stock. All u need to do is search the dailies especially during Decembers for offers

Technology MarketRe: Best Inverter (deep Cycle) Battery Brand In Nigeria by 44chux(m):
stanhezo: How many deep cycle batteries do i need to power a duplex for one week with a 3kvA inverter? Thanks in advanxe nairalanders.
You will need 10 (200AH) batteries (about 48k each). This is assuming you conserve power by using energy saving bulbs, LCD or LED TV, limited use of fridge, no AC, 1 or 2 fans, etc. Even at that, 4days without a recharge is a long-short. However adding a minimum of about 6 (250watts) solar panels & associated solar charge controller to it will get you more than one week, and may go as much as up to a month without NEPA (public utility power for recharging) in the dry season.

However a 3kvA inverter can charge max of 6 batts (usually 24v with 30amps charger), so u'll b needing 3.5kvA-0r-5kva to do 10batts & costing b/w 110k(4 blugate 24v system) to 160k(cyberpower 24/48v system).ie either a 24volts inverter with upto 60amps charging current or 48volts with upto 40amps charge current. Anything less will damage batteries due to under-charging.

Although a locally made 3.5kvA goes for around 35k, it will shoot u in the foot by gravely shortening the lifespan of ur battery bank due to overcharging.

Batteries are the most expensive parts with lifespan of avg. 2years. Better to stress them less by adding solar panels which are the cheapest part because they last for about 25years and can make you get up to 5years use from those same batteries by keeping them healthy (always charged & less DoD)
PoliticsRe: Femi Falana Threatens To Sue Dangote, Oil Companies Over Accidents by 44chux(m): 2:23am On Oct 23, 2012
I smell a plot. Not too long ago, multiple tanker accidents along Lagos-Ibadan exp way roasted commuters alive. Another close to Ahoada Rivers State accounted for about 200 lifes. Most of these trucks are 15yrs old and above. They definitely didn't pass VIO/Road Safety tests. Just yesterday I saw a 3-ton cargo truck carrying above 7-tonnes past a roadsafety check-point. The suspension was padded with extra spring and the axle and tie rod were reinforced with angle iron. Thatz an accident waiting to happen. Am surprised Mr SAN didn't sue for endangering of public lifes and property with intent to commit murder, or direct manslaughter, abi d fire victims no get left-to-mourn? Is it coz u only make headline when u sue hot-shots? If he really wants to serve d masses, then he should put up an ad around any typical Nigerian police station like Ekpan in Warri, you'd b surprised at the rights abuse cases you'd get
Nairaland GeneralRe: Tricks You Played On Your Parents And Got Away With As A Child. by 44chux(m): 6:27pm On Sep 19, 2012
I used to search my mum's purse/bag for kobo coins. As soon as I found more than one, I took the rest, always being careful to leave one or two behind incase she needed the change. I would hide the money somewhere for 24hrs(to cool it down) and then use it for waffers and choco-milo. If she noticed and raised the alarm, I would either drop the coins behind the foot of the table on which she left the purse/bag where, although hidden, someone was bound to see it while sweeping; or I simply dropped it in the pocket of the dress she wore that day for herself or the maid to discover during laundry.
One day my Dad accused her of being careless and always looking for who to blame for misplacing her change. That was the last day she complained. I think she still believes it was always her fault
