Lying can only get you so far. Its like smoking, easy to begin but difficult to quit because u will always need another lie to sustain the first lie. Except you have plans to relocate when ur done, don't do lying. It only seems to pay when you have a limited point of view.

Rather be diplomatic and sound confident and that will do the job. Learn how to use the Japanese NO and when caught in a tight corner, start throwing advice or pick offence at something trivial... It works better than lying and won't hurt ur integrity.

Early teenage years:
While the boy is independent, adventurous and free from care, the girl is delicate and requires care.
Just like a priced game, poachers attack from within and without. Even uncles, cousins and neighbours are a threat. Valuable resources have to be deployed to check this including money and attention. Money is to buy relative comfort and style her up to the standard of her peers while the attention is to create a trusting relationship where she can ask for advice and be free to report any suspected sexual abuse by whomsoever.

Early school:
It is established that girls generally have better handwriting, develop & advance speech faster, communicate better and are good listeners. In addition, girls usually get more compliments which sometimes endears them to some teachers and senior pupils who take it upon themselves to watchover like some big brother while the boys are either getting bullied and dreading school or doing the bullying and fighting, in which case also, they would normally come home with either dirty/torn cloths, injury or complaints from other parents and the school.

Discipline:
For toddlers, girls are usually calmer although we do get occasional climbers who grab everything in sight. I think the calmness is because girls are sensitive to facial expressions and voice tone, hence, they notice when u frown or raise ur voice. Boys don't scare easily and require a frequent and louder shout to achieve similar effect.

Toys:
Little girls love little things like shoes, baby dolls and their dresses while boys prefer moving mechanical things like toy cars, bikes, planes, guns, etc. which are more expensive

Play:
Girls are usually content with dressing the doll, plaiting the hair, makeup etc. Cooking is another fun game and they will pluck ur garden flowers to make imaginary soup with any pot like container available while the boys prefer gun play and fighting and end up creating a mess around in addition to damage to property or injury to themselves, resulting in higher maintenance and medical bills and more sleepless nights.

Not having sex on the first date might not work for some. As a matter of fact, some girls might term you impotent or docile for not making any move on them so this is not a universal rule. If the girl is totally down with having sex with you then by all means go ahead but if you aren't so sure she would cave in to your advances then don't even bother.

Most responsible girls come battle ready, prepared to fight you if you attempt sex.
A few might choose to come with a friend or a younger sibling, while most will form they are in their period and will doubly pad-up with tampon. Others will just wear strong short under a tight jeans trouser and steel their nerves to resist with all means necessary including mouth spraying and violence.

Pretending not to want sex on first date is like a knockout sucker punch that knocks away all their defenses.

NB: Any girls that easily concurs to sex on first date either has planned to use you or is a toilet

Happy hour used to be d time bars gave discounts on alcoholic beverages (bonanza) to encourage people to get high... until MTN Nigeria hijacked the term.

In d era of high call tariffs, MTN allowed free calls from 00h30 to 04h30 (called MTN happy hour AKA "midnight call" ). Less privileged boys used the talk time to practice toasting babes, while girls used the talk time to gossip boys & fashion. Hence it became synonymous with useless & senseless talk grin

The rest are either accountants (MD's wife and director of finance/admin) or lawyers (MD's wife's brother Director legal). I agree completely, it should be a partnership.

I just adore most of the buildings from Frank Lloyd Wright, especially the low laying bungalows, I would love to recreate one of his buildings in Nigeria. It will be totally impractical for Nigeria from an architectural standpoint but a masterpiece to my eyes as a consumer.

Some of us non architects that hires architects do have a brain and we know what we want as consumers.

I have direct access from garage into my house and next to my kitchen because that's what I want and what I'm exposed to for the past 30 years.

Any reasonable architect will listen to the client and work with the client and not become an overlord on the project.

For most experienced home-owners such as you, it should be 100% about ur choice. But for first timers, its usually about style and practicality based on professional recommendations, and not to 4get, uniqueness for the youth.

As with bidding, every architect must show how s/he would improve on an existing design otherwise they won't get the job.
Remember: 1. There are no perfect designs only preferable options. 2. Even renowned architects & engrs commit blunders (e.g. The Citigroup Center 601 Lexington Avenue)

I have not said anything negative about adopting foreign designs neither have I suggested such, I was merely pointing out to easily gullible users ready to adopt a foreign design based on esthetics alone without considering functionality and I had a specific maybe not apparent example in mind when I made reference to the garage scenario but it obviously does not fit every case.
Constructive criticism has its merit rather than personal attacks.

You are right, but should always make provisions for diverse tastes in ur comments. Nigeria has a building culture code that is gradually being lost to those in diaspora. Example, the man has no business in the kitchen whether as a passage from his garage or as a dinning place just as he has minimal input in choice of kitchen furniture/equipment. The kitchen is usually bounded on either side by the store and the dinning. Overtime the garage develops a smell which u don't want in the kitchen, particularly the garage with old cars.

Dear All,
Permit me to share my obnoxious experience while trying to claim the warranty on my samsung smartphone which had suffered a broken screen.

Once upon a time while surfing Samsung mobile's website for their branded stores in Warri(I love window-shopping 1st before the real deal), I could not find "Slot Warri" but found one "ONIGX" instead. They had their office @ Plot 34 Airport Road (beside AJ), Warri, Delta State. The place looked very upclass and "Airport-road class" to me. On the night of May 19th, 2014, I strolled into this shop to regretably purchase 2 Samsung phones: A Galaxy S5 (for #110k) whch was the talk of the town then, & a Note-3 neo(for #90k) to satisfy my craving for dual sim phones. They said both phones had the usual 2-year warranty but, most importantly they showed me an advert that the S5 had insurance for two screen changes (that was the deal sealant).

After big-boying the town with d S5, old age finally set-in and April 2015 I brought the S5 back to ONIGX with a broken screen for replacement. They took the phone in good faith but things turned ugly when up till October 2015 the S5 was not ready for collection (imagine 7-months of no-phone-frustration), ostensibly cause the matching screen was not in stock, as if na imported i-phone 7s. After much quarreling I agreed to pay #9k to have them also change the phone body/casing to match screen because they finally put in a screen for a different phone color(albeit with my consent) coz it was the only option given to me after the miserable long wait. To God be the glory, I finally retrieved the S5 with the new screen installed that week.

About 8 weeks later the new screen failed even though there was not so much as a scratch on it. I took the phone to Samsung office along Whedral road Owerri and then to Medical road computer village Lagos but they rejected the phone claiming they could not verify the phone warranty except I supply a particular reg no. sent to the phone as sms when it was first registered on Samsung website (Purchase receipt was ignored as if I bought the phone from those road-side hawkers at traffic jams). Later took the phone to one Samsung care along Allen avenue and they said Screen damage warranty for S5 had ended. I finally took the S5 back to ONIGX investment ltd Warri (the point of purchase) ending of December and they accepted it but as I expected, till date they have not fixed it

It would breed more trust and goodwill if quotes were shared openly on the thread.
The prospective buyer is thus assured of a competitive price regime since if either price or product quality or seller's character integrity is in question, other members would indeed flag it.
I know most sellers are afraid of their competition using this against them, but the generated goodwill dwarfs this fear.
