An AK 47 is still a very deadly weapon. One of the best ever made.

Stop being fooled. The picture you posted is a weapon used strictly for close combat and it does not cover the range an AK47 covers.

The reason why it has a short barrel is because it is meant to be used in rather confined spaces which explains why its for close combat. An Ak47 is above that when it comes to effectiveness and range
