@ koolwilly, youb need to chill till weekend for me. @ bankole, download the attachment and remove the .png extension. put it in the same folder with iwp. double click to launch its an executable script generally to launch java programs, you change directory into the folder where the archive is, then run "sudo java -jar <name of fle> .jar eg. sudo java -jar IndiaWebProxy.jar or sudo java -jar freedom.jar
|
i posted the java thingy for bankole, but the bot is sawllowing posts so check my last posts for the tut @ koolwilly, it seems your modem is not detected. if you have alternative internet, download GPPP. just check synaptic for it. let me do some research, it seems we will have to compile drivers for dat modem or at least hack 1 to support it |
seems startimes did have an effect!! everyone is now trying to mirror startimes price scheme. |
modems dont get installed in ubuntu, they simply work. what is the the model name and number of your usb modem? normally you simply plug it in, wait like 5 secs then click on the network mgr thingy you should see either a dialog for making a dial up connection. it even has presets for countries and networks. the one for mtn is there and correct too. after creating, you can then subsequently simply click on that icon to select the connection. TIP: some modems like E156G can be funny at times, i usually need to let the system boot with it plugged in so that it loads the drivers modules for it properly, subsequently i can remove and plug in at will. for JAVA MANUAL INSTALL: im trying to make this very point and click friendly ![]() get the latest binary from here: http://javadl.sun.com/webapps/download/AutoDL?BundleId=42723 after download, right click on the file, choose the permissions tab, tick the box that says make it executable. ave. 1 open a terminal, type gksudo nautilus authenticate with your password and now you are superuser or root> be careful what u do in this terminal mode 2. go to filesystem, go to the folder called opt, in that folder right click and a folder called java. enter that folder called java and make another folder and name it 32. enter into that folder. 3. now go back to the place you downloaded the java binary into, copy it into that 32 folder. then close the folder 4. now open up a fresh terminal. type the following cd /opt/java/32 press enter 5. now type sudo ./<name of the java binary>.bin press enter (note the fullstop before the /, make sure its there. there is a space btw the sudo and the fullstop symbol) 6. it will show a long document like license agreement for the java. press enter til you get to the end of it where it asks you to either say yes or no, type y and press enter. it will then unpack itself and "install". you will see a new folder in the 32 folder, note the name of that folder when its finished close all open terminals and folders. 7. now open a new terminal and preferably just copy and paste the following commands: sudo update-alternatives --install "/usr/bin/java" "java" "/opt/java/32/jre1.6.0_22/bin/java" 1 followed by this one: sudo update-alternatives --set java /opt/java/32/jre1.6.0_22/bin/java please check the exact name of the decompressed folder in /opt/java/32 to make sure the name is then same with that in the above lines. i mean the "jre1.6.0_22" part simple. now you have java installed. to test to see if thats true, just type: java -version in a terminal to see. it will report which version you have installed |

yeah you have to be oniine. i can teach u how to do it offline too, but you will have to use the terminal, and you need to get the jre binary file for linux from sun anyway. the way you get an .exe for windows. if you no mind then say so i point the instructions. @ koolwilly, youknow the drill naw, to help you we need details. which modem, model name and number, what does the pc say etc etc. anyway for starters, plug in he modem b4 booting the pc, boot it , then open a terminal and run: lsusb post the output here lets see |
hmmn, well dont wanna be insulted again but its good to see there are people here who are not totally knee jerk reactionary fans MC is ok, at the very least, one should say that he is OKAY, and better than mumubayor and bartender joined together ![]() that doc guy never ceases to amaze me with the ease which he pumps out vitriolics, is he a vet docky? ![]() |
you know this is plagiarism!! this chap frwhose site you are lifting all this your tales by moonlight from will take this thing up with seun very soon i dont know why you cant just be a honourable person and acknowledge the original source, even if we know you did not seek permission to plagiarise it!! anyone in doubt should simply copy any line from his tales by moonlight and google it, as a matter of fact their are quite a lot of fellow plagiarists sef! for example: http://theindustryexposed.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=81:jayz-nextone&Itemid=5 MCHEEW!!! jobless Arrow, better find something better to do with your time than to fill it with ludicrous stories and funny images! |
skydancer:kneels heavenly father, please let someone here know how to do that and be magnanimous enuf to share with me. . , . AMEN DUDE pls if and when u do dat, pls hook me up with how. if anyone also know pls hook me too |
nope, etisalat bought Alheri's (dangote) 3g licence last year or was it early this year, so they have a 3g license rolling out a 3g network no be beans, esp when that level is about to become old tech. the world is shifting to 4G guess they are at a cross roads, do a 3g network that will take like a year or two to complete, by then the competition is announcing 4G trials and rollout! |
Koolwilly:jre is in the repositories. you may as well get it along with the other restricted extras. sudo apt-get install ubuntu-restricted-extras or just open up synaptic and type sun java, choose the appropriate ones and apply. @ bankole O, i guess the same applies to you. after installing java, to run a java application you need to change directory into the folder in which the app is in, then run sudo java -jar IndiaWebProxy.jar for instance if the stuff is in a folder named india on my desktop, i would open a terminal, run "cd /fola/Home/desktop/india then run it as above. or do it as a newbie should: open a terminal, type cd<space> then drag the folder containing the java app into the terminal and press enter. voila you have changed directory into that folder <space> means press space once, not type that o! ![]() |
@ docky, at this level, you should know better than to throw unwarranted insults over a footy opinion argument, esp when you have not been insulted. anyway, i do believe it is you who ought to stop speaking outta the crack in yur backside, this much maligned striker is not a cold-blooded finisher it seems, but by a country mile is better than your pink boot wearing fool of a striker. mind he has spent what 3-4 months in this team, he has had to carry the striking burden for the team even as a newbie with no prem experience! there are countless strikers, who have spent years in the prem, yet where are they? all this talk of someone being there to score 100 is pure bunkum. talk is cheap! he misses goals like todays' but he sure as hell gives more than enough for him to be rated ok and he is better than bendtner will ever be!! this situation reminds me of the adebayor saga, anor of your darlings, before the 07/08 season adebayor was the worst thing to happen to wenger transfer wise. you could bet your house on it that he would miss glaring chances and be absolutely ineffective. fool eventually improved enough to be a one season wonder, and has returned to his poo -turd self. then the complaints was the same for adebayor, but funny thing was he was the only arsenal striker who could actually play for 6 months in the season!!! we know how that all ended performance wise anyway. if your so-called arsenal-class strikers could only just stay fit for 3 months so we truly see what they can do game in game out over a lengthy period, then we might actually pile the poo on the so-called ineffective one. but surely they wont!! save the insults for your fellow pals whom you enjoy throwing slanging matches. funny how you make mention of opinions, how come you can't tolerate the fact that some of us can clearly see that MC is bettr than NB, and adebayor is just a big fool ![]() |
Dr Kitaun:this man don come again, which one you dey talk sef? dem talk one you dey talk anor thing. sure in your mind every arsenal striker must be a ronaldo de lima clone, dat one na your fan-dom fantasy right, BUT THE Q IS: between bendtner and chamakh who better? not if they are both any good. and im really waiting to hear your diatribe on bendtner this time again. ![]() |
im not usually a big fan of ubuntu remasters. i dont even like Mint, though i often recommend it for new users. but these days its getting limited too in my view, and that daft idea of switching to rolling debian just about cooks it. how dumb, so they expect newbies to use rolling debian? esp since i discovered that doing them was ridiculously easy. only ish is your personal branding, if you want to make it distinctive. anyway, i was idle, trawling the net then decided to actually waste some bandwidth on a remaster i had looked at once, PINGUY-OS its on sourceforge man i am pretty amazed. well not really but that chap just made my life easier. the only i would grab myself would be my VGA drivers, and XBMC, and Chromium everthing else is there, even more than i need, and the customisations are tastefully done with a lot of sense. im gonna blow away my / and put this there tonite. but im gonna remove that dratted nautilus-elementary. i fail to see what the hype is about. the thing crashes on my pc all the time, even ejecting a drive is problematic |
Mobinga:thou shalt corrupted not this vessel holy!!! weti dat one wan mean na? mobing, i go flog u o, do not desecrate this holy thread anyway, e don tay i post shot o, na kuku wor wor speed i dey get, plus i no dey download sef ![]() i dey try flex old skool. abeg dem do tenchu for ps3?

hmmn, good for them, they can strike till the end of the world. as long as they get more money! shebi its because they are govt workers, i hope the judicial workers will get these kind of consideration too, or they are not as important shey? they dont kill/save pple abi? you people probably need to hear what young lawyers earn. FYI they pay a lot for their education too. Bar exams cost about 450k now. it costs about 100k per session at the university to secure books and materials for a proper education (most make do with less). lawschool requires over a million now unless you are prepared to cut corners with your self and needs lawyers spend 7 years too in the system. with no kobo help from anywhere unlike docs and their uni/ housemanship days lawyers earn on the average 35k per month upon graduation.!! a lawyer with a job giving him 80-100k a month is at the top of the pile remuneration wise. my point is: this "VICTIM" posture holds no water. the system is bad true, but to make it seem like they are the worst and suffer the most is laughable they are in a strong position. our lives are the bargaining chip. good on them. as a matter of fact i believe they should do this strike once and for all and get a sum that will be ok for the next 10 yrs, maybe say 1 million per month. that way we can be a bit assured that we wont repeat this circus next year again NB: before the strike, if you were to do a general scale of salaries in this country, where would these doctors lie? near the bottom? |
must be a localized ish, glo is always good in 3g areas. its consistent at 250KBps, unlike mtn wey fit fluctuate btw 1mb and 20KBps. na lack of fbt dey fall dem hands wit boiz, dem too stingy |
@ lucky i see you just had to display ur unfortunate ill-mannered lack of etiquette.
anyway am sorry you have not displayed sufficient intelligence fir me to even respond to your vitriolic attack. try harder, and with someone of your disposition and IQ |
all you pple whining about startimes, were you blind b4 you bought it? u did not see the list of station they were broadcasting b4 you bought it? or you thought they had supersport 3 and was showing all the football on the planet? i wonder what the complaints is exactly?, its not expensive you can throw it away and buy Hitv, then come back and complain after 2 month again. which one is even ok sef, dstv, e nor good, hitv e nor good, startimes na crap, FTA una go say too much wahala, what do u want? maybe you pple should actually get a life and stop lazing in front of a tv so much. life is more interesting in real life! anyway, office bought startimes, cheaper than the rest, they only want to put on al-jazeera or bbc world on the wall lcd anyway my security guard bought startimes, hje likes the big man, paytv touch, the home videos both local stations and e star, news and cartoons for his face me i push you house. young student living alone in dormitory bought startimes, he is a big boi amongst his fellow sufferers, he has mtv base, he can attract 1 or 2 babes with the tv there are situations where its ok for the user. if you dont like it, you have options, FTA, MAX 60K, DSTV, max 40K, HITV, . . . . . stop whining about 1k tv, what did you expect? SKY TV? BESIDES, FYI, THE THING IS JUST NTA TRYING TO CORNER THE DIGITAL TERRESTRIAL MARKET B4 2012 WHEN ALL LOCAL STATIONS GO DIGITAL TOO!! ordinarily it would have only NTA and local stations on it. better go buy dstv and stop making a monkey of your self on NL, so what if it is crap, for 1k |
Dr Kitaun:Dockinta, what was usbjective about me statement? i never said he was solely to blame for the loss. i rather rightly pointed out that the hype over a cameo role and a good goal does not automatically make bendtner the real deal. precisely what aspect of his game does he excel in? this talk started because of the "complaints" about chamakh!!. a van nistelrooy, he ain't but he definitely has so much to his game and surely brings something to the table, whether you like his style or not. Bendtner does not hold up play or link up play competently, he is not a goal poacher, he is not a battering ram to bully the opposition, so precisely what does the 6ft plus bumbling giant bring to the table other than the odd goal? besides, scoring a goal is a misleading parameter to measure a arsenal striker, They get waay more chances than their peers at other clubs get, and squander more than anyone else too!!!!! if bendtner was at all IT, we would not have gone hunting for chamakh!!!! he is a wengerboy, he will continue playing even when we all cannot see precisely what he contributes!! can someone remind us all bendtners best game for arsenal ever? think lomg and hard, bring out you video collection and surf thru. . . . . . . u still cant find one shey? useless player |

hmnn, so if we dont chase money and aspire to be like bill gates, then we are lazy and not smart? is that your point @ poster? anyway, as you can see, you have like-minded people like tensor. . . . . yup work HARD!!!!, become RICHER THAN RICH, buy the best the world has to offer, then refuse to die ok!! so you can be rich forever! just incse you actually do die, despite all your wealth, make sure you carry the money along with you o, so you can spend it too in the grave! this fisherman quite clearly lives a full life, at least in his own books. he is not hungry, he is not sad, his life is much more rewarding. from Mr banker's perspective that is a waste of potential! he should instead chase the money hard, develop a one dimensional life and a simple one-minded approach to add monetary value for years, . . . then go back to the same thing he is presently doing now!!!!! and precisely what is the point to this chase? is money an end or a means to an end? what do you think is the end he fisherman wants? and even much more worrying, what is the end the banker projects for the fisherman such as to warrant this chase? and you wonder why you have been in lagos for the past 15 years chasing, and even acquiring, yet are deeply unhappy wanting more but not knowing exactly what it is you really want!! and some people actually abuse pple like IBB and other politicians!! ![]() |
wierd how nobody got round to telling the fella the truth!! the marriage is over, it was a sham to begin with and remains a sham!! if she wanna be gay, she stays gay, if she wanna be straight she stays straight!. all these talk of Bi is simply doofus! besides, the moment he found out, he should have stopped even trying to sleep with her. its kinda like pouring water in a basket, trying to convert a gay person. the talk of being BI only comes up cuz she wanna pretend to be regular and straight. there aint no person who would indulge in gay sex, and would prefer straight sex. STOLEN WATERS IS SWEET!!! dude needs help anyway, ever heard of incuubus and sucuubus? this aint some christian religious tripe, the devil worshippers and spiritualists confirm their existence as very strong spirits concerned with sexual perversion in whatever form! sad sha. i honestly think gay pple should go about wearing some kinda tag so you know they gay and so they can stick to each other, its the trying to get to straight pple that really pisses me off, they shuld keep the demons to themselves! Feel for the Kids though, victims of an insane situation. |
To all the "there must be a story advocates" i wanna ask, what if there isn't a story? you know i know a few useless irritating men who run after women from rich homes, and whose MIL and even wife look down upon them, control the home and generally mess up things. in those circumstances, you can be sure a quick handed woman can slap the guy!!! i even know one couple personally whom the MIL actually insults and looks down on the hubby because at the time he married the daughter he wasn't their "class". turns out the chap did really really good and became rich and all that but the MIL still loved asserting her so called superiority over him and generally misbehaved, publicly insulting him because of stuff like choice of schools for the child. (MIL wants one schl, dad wants anor!) suffice to say the marriage is history! but really if in that type of situation, and where for instance the chap was just damn too meek and soft, he gets slapped? i really love topics like this anyway, makes you really stand back and think b4 stupidity gets the better of you over this "woman i love you" issue. hmmn watch how the women are just technically trying to find common ground for the issue and moving the blame to the other side. now the person who got slapped is now to explain why he got slapped like how the women who get beaten at home have to explain why they got beaten!!! ![]() anyway, personally i think that the marriage will get an almighty rift from that moment. i wouldn't react, but that there signals the end of my interaction with the MIL forever, and as an extension her family. sure we will do the usual lets talk about it crap, only problem is i wont ever change my mind. it takes quite a large step for a man to get disrespected to that level by the MIL, face it man you clearly don't amount to much in her eyes and she actually sees you like a boy and not a man. how much more you are her daughters husband!!!!!! its kinda like when you are a 40 yr old breadwinner and your mother sees you as a 16 yr old boy and not a man capable of being/replacing her husband. you simply have serious issues.!!! |
dayo"delusional"kanu!!! ![]() |
i think its unfortunate too. if canonical actually did pay attention to kubuntu, it would have been awesome. considering that a community effort got it this far is stunning.!! now if they go into unity, what then becomes of the gnome project and kubuntu? 1 less distro using them, and a major one at that!! lets wait and see sha, for me, i'd really like to see how far Gnome project can take it |
u know i have long thought about the KDE / GNOME THING!. i agree with you in some respects. eg. the tracker thingy and searching for files/tagging them. that is such a cool thing to have esp if you deal with sooooo many docs like a do. also the polish bit, well. . . . . . am of too minds about that. i do think KDE looks really glitzy and classy, BUT. i find it very plain and monochromatic!!! i believe that you are soo used to it, tweaking and pimping it comes naturally. for me it looked like a great big slab of white with funny buttons!! and i found the menu tedious to use. its just like windows menu, too many sublevels. on gnome max 2 clicks on the menu will open my app for me, on KDE i was trying to figure out the next step and constantly trying to remember under which section what i was looking for was in! i did'nt like the menu buttons etc. i know that is readily remediable. sorta like default gnome always looks hideous and all that but a few tweaks and its reborn! KDE network manager was really really kool!!!, but sometimes confused me as to what the status of my connection was (i was using dial-up) Microblogging killed it, there is no app anywhere else in the world that is better than that one in KDE period!!! i had issues with functionality. that thing does not fly well with Modems and IP's and whatnot. it worked, but it took quite a bit of patience and trying to figure out wassup!! Kpackagekit is a big disgrace. totally confusing and from someone who uses synaptic, that is not a good testimony. i think it should be entirely redesigned, or else they just adopt the software center type of thing for it. im not that wet behind the ears for ubuntu/linux, but i found it impossible to install synaptic and some other stuff. it was pretty much hit and miss. some stuff installed, some refused!!! i dont really like Amarok and the other default apps, like that browser. immediately tried to get chromium, was going round in circles!!! BOTTOMLINE IS, i think for KDE, you either fall in love outrightly, or just generally avoid it. MY issues i clearly see are caused by the fact that i am very very used to Gnome, and simply like it for its ugliness and simplicity. i dont have a thing against KDE per se, i have used numerous other inferior desktop enviroments without complaints, XFCE, FLUXBOX, ICEWM, JVM but i dunno. i feel the KDE thing i would have to take my time to learn and get used to the feel. it does look more polished than gnome, but i believe thats on the surface. scratch that and you may end up being properly confused as to what is there except you are a seasoned user. i sure would have issues putting a noob on Kubuntu!!! anyway, this is about to become moot anyway. Canonical seem to have taken the copying apple criticisms to heart and are bent on going anywhere than mainstream now!! this new fangled idea of adopting the Unity desktop/QT integration seems pretty confusing to me. i dont think i like the unity interface for my pc (from what iv seen). which oddly seems to mean that they are ditching GNOME 3!!!!! despite the complaints, i would take Gnome 3 with compiz anyday instead of this Unity thingy!! hmmn i dunno o. anyway, how much issues will i get if i add the KDE to my Gnome install. i will remove most of the KDE apps anyway, just wondering if the issues will be too much to bear? |
