honestly, yes i agree wenger has tried, i mean well any one would agree that pound for pound, citeh have more quality than arsenal, still that dont mean success, complain all u like about wenger, but give him credit, see what folks are struggling to do with better resources and spending and whatnot advocated by folks.

Follow these steps to identify and remove any old kernels.

1 - Go to Terminal and paste the following command: uname -r
It will print the version of the Linux kernel you are running, this is the one you want to keep. It should look something like this: 2.6.20-16-generic

2 - Go to Synaptic Package Manager via the System > Administration menus

3 - Paste this: linux-image-2 into the search box of Synaptic Package Manager

4 - Once you have located the old kernels, hightlight them and right-click then select Mark For Complete Removal then click Mark and then click Apply

The results should show every available and installed kernel. A green box on the left indicates that the package is installed. The only linux-image you want installed is the latest one.

Be careful of what you remove. Ensure that you don’t remove your current kernel, or anything that is not a linux-image. It is possible to break Ubuntu if you remove the wrong kernel.

Your computer and Grub menu should now be free of old kernels.

infact am not even thinkibng abt it, forget editing grub, just open synaptic and search for the kernel u wanna remove and uninstall

u berra note the exact name of the kernel so u dont remove ur working/latest ones.

u may check out ubuntu tweak, if i have time to look into my box i will confirm, but i seem not to have these ish anymore so i must have found a solution to it. time is a hindrance, cant promise anything till weekend.

Gurus i need help again, 1. My DVD rom cannot write files to disk. 2. Whenever my system is running a game like PES and there's power failure the system goes off, in spite of the UPS connected, this only happens when a game is running. The system is gigabyte ie the motherboard, with windows xp,

^ DVD ROMS cant write to cd's. rom means read only module. u need a drive that says read/write (dvdrw)
as for the UPS, probably means the UPS batteries are bad or the UPS is not online. if the UPS actually works, then check to see if the Games disable the power module when started. just minimise the game and check the power thingy. bring feedback

u need to get the drivers for your laptop hardware. google for the drivers of the laptop name and model e.g. Dell D 10000 Drivers

ok 10.04 LTS is out in the channels, am doing a download right now, hopefully before the next millenium it will be through

yup, lets have feedback, already saw a bug but heard that they had to do respins of the iso's so hopefully the one am getting is a respin, fingers crossed.

but the bug really is just that grub2 doesnt show the other os(es) in a dual boot config. its remedialble simply by running

"update-grub"

but i guess they chose the safer option cos of all the windows based whiners

the other whine is that they didnt use the very latest kernel, but after the debacle of 9.10, who can blame canonical, all the cutting edge stuff just brings issues at at times. the latest kernel is less than a week old, we dont know how its gonna play out, yet folks are whining that it should be on a brand new release. i think canonical is smarter now, they wont be the guinea pig for the industry anymore.

looking forward to writing my review of 10.04
