ayinba1:You are talking bollocks. Major Hassan's crime here is inextricably linked to his religious persuasion. There are millions of Muslims who commit crimes on a daily basis without the question of their religion being brought up. If a Christian opens fire on his colleagues while screaming ''Blood of Jesus'', I would be inclined to link his religious beliefs with his act. Funny thing is, you would do the same. |
Let's keep winning U-17 World Cups while we can't even qualify for the World Cup. |
I won't be surprised if more money flows out of Nigeria than flows in. However, excluding our thieving political class, these figures show Nigerians abroad constitute one of the pillars of Nigeria's economy. |
With all the push-up bras these women use in deceiving us, I think it's about time someone did something about this and I applaud the Al-Shabab for this move. It's time to take a stand and say no to artificially enhanced busts. |
On second thought, if present growth trends for both countries stay the same, Nigeria's nominal GDP, at market rates at the time of the Wiki article, will surpass South Africa's around 2020. Nigeria's GDP growth over the past 5 years has averaged 6.2%, whilst SA's GDP growth rate over the past 5 years has averaged 3.5%. How did Sanusi come up with his projections? |
The insurgent group Al Shabaab has sent gunmen into the streets of Mogadishu to round up any women who appear to have a firm bust, residents claimed yesterday. You can't make it up. I wonder whether their Police has a Boobs Department. Inspecting boobs requires specialization and incredible skill. |
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(nominal) If we go by the nominal GDP figures in the above link and presuming recent growth trends in both countries stay the same, Nigeria's economy will be larger than South Africa's within the next 5 years. I never really gave it serious thought until I saw this thread. If you take the largest GDP(nominal) estimate for Nigeria in the above link($220bn) and the GDP(nominal) estimate for S.A($300bn), Nigeria's GDP should surpass South Africa's soon enough. |
A photograph of the Iranian president holding up his identity card during elections in March 2008 clearly shows his family has Jewish roots.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/middleeast/iran/6256173/Mahmoud-Ahmadinejad-revealed-to-have-Jewish-past.html Interesting theory, could he be another self-hating Jew like Noam Chomsky and Gideon Levy? ![]() |
The OP is incredibly naive. This is 1970s Nigeria redux. Stop tossing out meaningless figures When you have such major oil discoveries and a country just emerging from war, it's almost inevitable that you have a growth spurt. However, Angola corrupt and autocratic regime mean that this growth is unsustainable. |
The UN is continuing its age long tradition of a witch hunt against Israel. |
Joe Wilson's 15 minutes of infamy notwithstanding, Democrats were pretty rough on George W. Bush during a joint sessions a few years back.http://www.politico.com/blogs/glennthrush/0909/Dems_heckled_Bush_but_Wilson_was_different.html Those Democrats must be a bunch of racists for having the audacity to heckle Bush. |
Why is the thread title still reading 0-0? |
@Mukina What is the score at the City of Manchester stadium? ![]() |
Gayners title contenders? You are having a laugh! |
Who owns Vanguard Media Ltd? |
chic2pimp:If it was 'obligatory' to endorse Labour, the Daily Mail would have endorsed Labour. Or were they not chasing bigger sales too? I hope you know the Sun achieved its best sales prior to endorsing Labour. Okay Assuming what u said was true, does ofcom allow slanted domestic and internatinal news on BBC?The BBC's left wing slant is mainly in its coverage of foreign affairs. I think it's quite naive to underestimate the clout of the BBC. Ofcom is more likely to come down like a ton of bricks on Sky and ITV. |
i will name donatella versace from the top of my head. but that's an extreme example lol
You are right, to an extent, a lot of high achieving women are wowo and high maintenance at the same time. |
When MTN and Econet were paying $285m each for GSM license, how much did Globacom pay? Even then, MTN still holds a larger market share. I've never understood the high praise heaped on a person who is fronting a business. The regulatory environment has to be changed before the electricity situation can be improved. No private company can sole our problem yet. |
Adamu Ciroma is the best example I can remember of a politician turned banker. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adamu_Ciroma |
''Fellow countrymen, never try a party with a couple of Indian hookers. It's deadly''. |
davidylan:Matching attire and nails fixed weekly for this credit crunch? This one na ''high demanding'' husband. ![]() |
chic2pimp:No choice? That's nonsense. Can you imagine FoxNews supporting the Democrats because Republicans have no chance of winning? Since when did newspapers have an obligation to support the likely winners. Readership of both the Times and The Sun is finely balanced. I would presume the same applies to SkyNews. It's silly to presume that because SkyNews is owned by Murdoch, it's right wing. Ofcom wouldn't even allow slanted domestic news on TV like you get with FoxNews. |
deji2009:They think football is about making ineffective passes in the middle of the pitch. |
africhika:I would think that for a girl to live a life of high maintenance, she must have something going for her. It's hard to tell but it's probably fair to say they are more attractive, how else can they get men to accede to their financial demands? |
If a girl is high maintenance, we have to assume that she has some appealing physical features. It's hard to imagine an obscenely wowo girl being high maintenance. If the premise that a high maintenance girl is by implication ''sexy'' holds, then she will get more dates, not because she's high maintenance, but because men find her attractive. Attractive women get more dates, high maintenance girls get more dates because they are often attractive. |
@chic2pimp. All these glib labels that you throw around like a spastic vermin, are you ''middle-wing''? Were the other constituents of the Murdoch UK empire, The Sun and the Times, being right wing when they endorsed Labour? |
It is a measure of how rotten the country has become and the low perceptions of Nigerians, that a 'Nigerian' spending big in London is presumed to be a thieving politician. |
Na Mr Crackles and Debosky dey cause all this nonsense for S.E London. |
RichyBlacK: MSNBC must be 'very good' to a self-confessed Obamaniac. BBC unbiased? Unless kissing Palestinians' ass counts as 'unbiased'. |
Quote from: davidylan on Today at 04:15:32 AMThe above is startling idiocy. To claim that no economist saw the US coming out of recession pre-2010 without the stimulus is to claim that you are aware of the predictions of every single economist on the face of the earth. That's the hallmark of a mendacious oaf. The article I posted does not corroborate such drivel. All it shows is that those particular economists cited by the NYT couldn't see recovery in '09 without the stimulus. It's stupid to deduce that it reflected the view of every single economist at the time. I posted the article because I thought you meant that no one foresaw recovery this year, stimulus or no stimulus. Since you are clutching at their stated reason for bullishness, the proposed stimulus package, I can easily show you examples of projections of recovery this year without the stimulus: Here is a report by the non-partisan CBO: Near-Term Outlook: In preparing its economic forecast, CBO assumes that current laws and policies governing federal spending and taxes do not change. This forecast, therefore, does not include the effects of a possible fiscal stimulus package. On that basis, CBO anticipates that real GDP will drop by 2.2 percent in calendar year 2009, a steep decline. CBO expects the economy to begin a slow recovery in the second half of 2009 and to grow by a modest 1.5 percent in 2010.http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9958/01-08-Outlook_Testimony.pdf This report was prepared in February '09. QuoteExercise in stupidity. The article does not represent the view of every single economist. The NYT, being to Obama what FoxNews is to Bush, was seeking to make a case why Obama's policies would save us from doom. I repeat, it did not represent the view of every economist. If you don't know that, you are being an idiot. What you are effectively telling me is that you are aware of all the articles I read at the beginning of '09, that you are aware of the projections of every single economist. Obamania is a mental illness indeed. |

The article is very clear on this point.Exercise in stupidity. The article does not represent the view of every single economist.
