HNIC:Wouldn't expect you to be laughing, would I? Especially after receiving a right proper ass whupping tonight. ![]() |
BlueDiva:Trophies are so old fashioned, who needs them? |
HNIC:Just like Ireland begged FIFA to be the 33rd team at the World Cup, maybe Arsenal can beg the FA to count as goals, any of their shots that hit the bar. |
HNIC:This man is hilarious. It seems Arsenal didn't want any trophy over the past 4 years. |
Mariory:Wikipedia is more reliable than this thread which is a collection of images of flying coffins and other equipment spuriously attributed to be images of the Nigerian military. |
Cristalz:Come on, Cristalz. I'm sure somewhere within your heart, you must feel some iota of pity . I guess it's because I haven't been here often to listen to obscenely annoying Arsenal fans, I've started to feel sorry for Arsenal. Laughing at 'em is like laughing at the mentally impaired. |
I'm starting to feel sorry for Arsenal FC. Any other Utd fan feel that way? Just a tinge of pity. |
Horus:Who is stating the above? |
You would agree with me that the far North has more in common with Niger Republic. Check out the difference in the population growth rates between Niger and Nigeria; 3.28% and 2.23% respectively. Population growth rate for Niger Population growth rate for Nigeria Presuming the far North is growing its population at rates closer to Niger's, imagine the consequence over decades. Remember the population growth rates takes into consideration infant mortality/death rates. |
It's not inconceivable that more than 50% of Nigerians are Muslims with birth rates higher in Muslim areas for a start. |
@Nateevs That was below the belt. ![]() |
"Nigerians whose achievements are worthy of emulation", I agree contributions can be direct or indirect in that sense. Oh, and by the way who is Fidelis Oditah? provide a picture and some info so we can know more.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fidelis_Oditah It's sad that he got into Nigerian politics, but I will forgive him that. |
Nigerian role models do not necessarily have to have contributed to Nigeria but are simply Nigerians whose achievements are worthy of emulation: I would count Bayo Ogunlesi and Fidelis Oditah amongst role models |
Some things don't change: Arsenal to finish outside top 2, Debosky still giving his inane epistles, Buttnal fans still wallowing in misguided optimism . . . . . |
It's amazing how the fixtures create a false sense of hope. Because of Arsenal's fixtures so far in the EPL, they have accumulated points against the bottom 10 sides of the EPL. With the exception of their game against Spurs, has Arsenal won a single point against teams in the top half of the league? |
This is one of the pernicious effects of our belief in superstition. |
Tiger has yet to be formally interviewed by the Florida Highway Patrol -- that should happen this afternoon. But we're told Tiger had a conversation Friday -- with a non-law enforcement type -- detailing what went down before his Escalade hit a fire hydrant. We're told he said his wife had confronted him about reports that he was seeing another woman. The argument got heated and, according to our source, she scratched his face up. We're told it was then Woods beat a hasty retreat for his SUV -- but according to our source, Woods says his wife followed behind with a golf club. As Tiger drove away, she struck the vehicle several times with the club. We're told Woods became "distracted," thought the vehicle was stopped, and looked to see what had happened. At that point the SUV hit the fire hydrant and then hit a tree. We're also told Woods had said during the conversation Friday he had been taking prescription pain medication for an injury, which could explain why he seemed somewhat out of it at the scene. http://www.tmz.com/2009/11/28/tiger-woods-elin-nordegren-fight-accident-suv-lacerations/ |
Ikomi: This guy is a first grade retard. So the Sunni/Shia divide is an ethnic divide? I think this slowpoke was fooled by the web sites that referred to 'ethno-religious' group. In reality, what ethno-religious grouping meant is that those sites were categorising groups in Iraq not just according to their religion, but also their ethnicity. This Ikomi is an exemplar slowpoke. |
Kanu is on, shows there is hope for men in their mid-40s hoping to continue playing at the top flight. |
Krayola:You don't need glasses, you need a guide dog. |
Refs are obviously trying to get in their revenge. It's like watching Serie A back in the days with refs determined to fix the outcome. |
These helicopters were first introduced in the late 70s. For it to be described as 'fairly used' is a bit of euphemism. Are they still in production cos if they are not, they are anything but fairly used. |
ABU DHABI (Reuters) - Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates and one of the world's top oil exporters, will "pick and choose" how to assist its debt-laden neighbor Dubai, a senior Abu Dhabi official said on Saturday.http://www.reuters.com/article/GCA-CreditCrisis/idUSTRE5AR0EH20091128 These people are so childish. Abu Dhabi doesn't seem to realise that this crisis is damaging for the whole of the UAE, indeed, the Gulf region. Unless Abu Dhabi is content with remaining a petro-economy forever, efforts to diversify their economy will be stymied if this crisis is allowed to spur a permanent loss of confidence amongst foreign investors. |
Why is this not in the foreign affairs section? |
SEFAGO:It seems the more ignorant a person is, the more emphatic their claim. |
Makes you want to become vegetarian, doesn't it? 9jaganja:Complete BS. Our low life expectancy rate is partly a result of high infant mortality. If you have above average infant mortalities, it doesn't matter that the average person you know lived beyond '41 or 53'. |
Shocking new. Hope it's not as bad as initial reports are suggesting. |
The Nigerian peacekeepers are known for their professional conduct during missions, compared to most forces.
Only God knows what drugs you are on. |
This policy is clearly stupid and stories like this make you wonder whether Nigerians lack intelligence. You can't coerce oil companies to invest in refineries when the key stumbling block to having an efficient domestic petroleum market is the myriad of regulations that distort the market. Quite simply, if there was money to be made in investing in refineries in Nigeria's present day environment, foreign investors would not need to to be coerced. The lack of investment in refineries is merely a symptom of a greater malaise, not the malaise itself. |
Venezuela lecturing Nigeria? The sheer irony of it all. This is one of the world's most mismanaged major oil producers with a contracting economy and shrinking oil output due to underinvestment. Of course, relative to Nigeria, they are better off but you know you are doing badly when you revel in doing better than Nigeria. |
Geithner is criticised by both left and right. Anyone who has any interest in these matters will know that already. Witness this recent article : http://www.tnr.com/article/politics/the-geithner-disaster The left criticises him for being in hock to the bankers and the right for supporting for supporting a spending frenzy. For me, the real power behind the throne in economic policy is Larry Summers. Geithner is merely a public face. |
A West African free trade zone offers limited economic advantages for Nigeria as our trade is mainly conducted with the West and Asia. There is relatively little trade between African nations but having free trade zones is a good start towards remedying that. |
