it's air dried after partially been rotten. I wachted a documentary on it. The cod oil which is a very important nutrients has been extracted from it. it came to Nigerian during the civil war became of it protein content though in small value. it made from all this Scandinavian countries and icy regions

Effect of the recent closure of Nigerian border by federal government have not only affect rice importation but also seems to be taking a toll on other forign commodities in Nigerian markets. Stock fish as one among the rest is becoming scarce in the market and the little, one can get from grocery shops are being sold in unusual prizes. People of God, do you think this is a good pointer to a better Nigeria?

Its a good pointer to a BEST Nigeria!

My brother, it's not called change o. It's called BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY GALORE. While we are here grumbling, some sharp people are already investing more in fish farming and poultry and will make millions in our very own eyes while we are praying upandan for business opportunities to come.

Nigerians can complain for Africa!!!
Price of rice has increased! Yes! Why not go into agriculture and make millions.
There is stock fish scarcity why not go into fish farming and make millions.
They will complain that unemployment rate has increased but I see lots of opportunities to make money in this closed border.
China developed because their government ban importation of many things.
I support this border closure! It's just that the timing was wrong.

shocked

Go the market to buy foodstuffs, the next thing u hear is " u no know say border don close?"

Things are just too expensive in the market.

Nigerians are always like that. Even people that have no business with the border are using it as an excuse to hike their prices.

But why should stock fish be scarce in Nigeria when we have waters and fishermen?
Wetin dm con dey fish?
Those fishermen have never been encouraged by our government. Maybe this border closure is a good thing after all.
Nigerian Sea side area is not rich in fish stock in numbers it takes a government that does it's research to know that Nigerian Sea side has warm waters only cold sea side waters like in Canada,USA,Norway, Greenland cold ocean area,s are rich in fish stock in high sustainable numbers that's why they have the advantage to export only farmed catfish which unfortunately has cholesterol not being a scaled fish is available trust Nigerians even the price of catfish will go up due to pressure of demand and supply

I don't think using worst cases are a measuring criteria is good.

Nigeria have a sizable population, need for food production will always be relevant in our daily lives.

Nah it is mostly used in Asia where majority of our livestock imports come from.

We are still learning work from Asia and Americans
