So many men where pushed away by there wife's and they turned the kids against him. If a man stays to fight and something happens, the world will blame him that he should have left. Personally, I haven't seen my kids in 2 yrs because there mum took them away and I have been in court but the court is not even helping matters, so many adjournment here and there. Most times, it's not the fault of the men but wicked and evil women in there life's. I'm talking from experience

You haven't seen your children but have you at least tried to visit them at school? Made sure to know their friends and send them things through those or even through neighbors etc?
Have you tried directly negotiating with your ex to speak to them? Make certain that you pay to support them? There is no excuse at all why any parent should abandon the kids. 2 years is a long time abeg. Make it your part-time job to figure out a way to reconnect asap. Consider what those kids are thinking right now and yes, to kids, mum and dad are the whole world, so imagine how they long to even catch a glimpse of you or even get a word or two regularly. Cellphone dey, email dey, letter dey.... so what reason is there for anyone to cut communication with his or her own kids? ..

1. When you Dad breathes his last, you will look back and realise the missed opportunity to right wrongs. In death, everything you feel he has done to you becomes trivial. He would have run his race and existed thus earth, but the missed opportunity for a proper closure can never be gotten back.

Listen carefully to a story I read as a child growing up. A man was badly treating his father up to the point of carving out of wood a bowl for him (father) to eat from. At a point in time, he and his young son went to the farm and the son started fiddlind with an axe & a piece of wood. The father called out to his son to come over & eat. The child told the father that he will be with him as soon as he finishes carving out the bowl he would use in serving him food when he (the father) grows old.
The moral of the story is to know that similar treatment you give to your might come right back at you. The Bible instruct you to honour your father & mother. There is no conditional clause as to the kind of father he has to be.

Imagine the nerves of a man/woman who abandoned children to suffer for many years crawling back to the very same people he once considered of no worth seeking to be cared for. To forgive means to forgive them of all their hurts against you. That is all. No aspect of forgiveness stipulates that you continue in relationship with the one who you have forgiven as though nothing has changed.

1. Forgiveness means to cancel a debt owed. Forgiveness does not however mean you continue the relationship you previously had with the one who offended you nor does it mean that you sit back and allowed said person to then continue to hurt you.

2. A peacemaker is one who forgives as opposed to not forgiving. The father abandoned and hurt the children and so definitely, they should look to forgiving him, not for his sake but for their sake since God will only forgive those who forgive others. But suggesting they must help him in his time of need is something else entirely.

You quoted there from Matthew 25 vs 40, but you forget that that is work required of those who have become righteous — recall that sin makes filthy all our good works, Isaiah 64 vs 6 —and the other poster did not tell you anywhere that he is a righteous man so requiring of him righteous work is overstepping on your part. Make we please try to dey leave God out of many of these things so we can be more reasonable in our judgment first.
