Easternmind: I know azikiwe aligned with north, but you must look at things in a better way. If we continue bashing and fighting ourselves,it will amount to nothing, rather than disharmony.I don't hate the Yorubas. I'm Only seeking if they could be southern alliance to aid growth. You are a rational mind, same cannot be said for your people. Imagine always blaming Yoruba for Azikiwe's lack of foresight, Azikiwe did not only sabotage the secession clause, he also joined the North to delay Nigeria's independence for two years. SW was colonized separately, the current Nigerian high commission office in UK, used to be the embassy of Western Nigeria in UK. If the secession clause was included in the Nigerian constitution, Awolowo would probably have pulled SW out even before 1963. Awo is a man that saw tomorrow, this was why he said Nigeria is a ' mere geographical expression " , not a country. Did your people not labeled him a tribalist for his views?. What Awolowo saw and demanded for secession clause to be included in the Nigerian constitution, Adaka Boro saw it, Ojukwu eventually saw it, the whole of Igboland saw it and this was why they support Ojukwu's Biafra agenda, unfortunately their fore fathers signed them into this union, forceful exit is a breach of contract, the owners of this slave ship the British will not take it. Did Zik not cornived with his Fulani allies to carve out mid west?, Benin, Itshekiri, and Uhrobo are a sub Yoruba group or have they denied their identity?. He still did the same to the Okun and Igbomina people, thank God for the likes of Olawoyin, who keeps reminding his people that " we are Yorubas we are not North". Now tell me, 60 years later who in SW, SS, SE and MB is not seeing things from Awo's point of view today?. Yorubas have since mapped out their survival strategy in a forced union like Nigeria, let other tribes too go and do the same. Orun ma wo, kii se ori enikan. |

I know your yoruba history never taught you about how Awolowo first fought Zik,when Zik won the prime minister of western region after independent.
Awolowo gang and fought him, saying that Igbo man can not be a prime minister of western region, even when Awolowo carry one Nigeria for head. That was how tribalism came to Nigeria.
He had foresight by fight for one Nigeria,by starving 3 million easterner kids,by confiscating all money Easterner have in bank before the war.
We have seen Nigeria he fought with his foresight. Why should Igbo man become the premier of SW?, igbo man no get homeland?. No wonder Zik manipulated his malo friends to vote against. secession clause, now who's crying. |

Spandau: That I do not know. But what I know is that Igbos were going to invade the Western Region in order to win the war because Lagos was the FCT. They invaded Benin in the Mid-West and committed war crimes( I got proofs), tried to enter Yoruba territory via Ore in present Ondo State. They were stopped by the Yoruba elements in the army in the fiercest battle in the history of the civil war. If you were Awolowo, would you fold your arms? They could have headed Northwards and exact revenge for the pogrom committed against them. The Hausa/ Fulani/ middlebelt elements in the army then were classic mumus who lacked sense, discipline and decorum so it would have been not too difficult to tackle them.
Besides, much earlier before all the coup and katakata, Awolowo suggested that a clause be put in the then constitution to allow for easy secession of any component region back then, the Igbos confronted him and stated that the unity of Nigeria was non-negotiable. All because they were jealous of the advantages in Lagos and Ogun state. If they had cooperated with Awo back then, all the mess we got ourselves into that led to the civil war and present problems by these cows from the North would not have happened. Back then, the Igbos and Yorubas had the intellectual advantage tthat these Muslim terrorists can still not match till today. You get time dey explain, since the colonial days, Igbos have been nursing a secret agenda, of hijacking Yorubaland from the inhabitants. And there were some dafts like Adeniran Ogunsanya, who can't even read between the lines dancing along with them. God bless Awolowo for noticing the hidden agenda and promptly nipping it in the bud, imagine Zik as premier of SW?. Go and watch why Akintola had to die. Everything is on youtube. Oko kii je ti baba t'omo ko ma ni aala, let Igbos mind SE and leave SW alone. |

Some Savage clans do not understand dialogue, you only reset their brains by violent confrontation. When your neighbours in the south south are not ready to join you to fight any war, na Yoruba go join you?. You better start looking for your war allies elsewhere, look at where SE is today, if there was no war will south East be in that sorry state?. Yorubas already factor the aftermath of the war into consideration a long time ago. After the annulment of June 12, there was mass insurrection, infact when Abacha took over he made a famous statement, " clear all living things ". The leader of the Yorubas then Late pa Abraham Adesanya called an urgent meeting and warned the Yorubas, that the useless Abacha wants to destroy SW, our cities social infrastructures will not be spared. All these facilities takes money to put in place. So a civil disobedience tactics was adopted, people still die but it wasn't a mass suicide. Did Abacha not die a shameful death?. Yorubas will rather minimize their exposure than making senseless moves and throwing it all away. Look at what happened in Lagos of recent, imagine the burning of BRT busses and so on, Yorubas will never support such destruction, now add human casualties that will happen too. Yorubas will never stand for such so look for your allies elsewhere. |

There will be war that will lead to separation.
Buhari has his ambition and not Tinubu. For me. I will first blame Jonathan Blame Buhari and lastly blame Tinubu. What Tinubu did can be done or has being done in your offices. The only solution to the problem of this country is for secession clause to be included in our constitution, so that people can decide if they want to remain Nigerians or not. The two worthless southern presidents since 1999 cannot pretend, that Nigerians love living together. The tribes living in Nigeria collectively hated each other why not use a legal tool like secession clause in the constitution to dismember the country. Tinubu this Tinubu that, Tinubu is a politician he will only take decisions that favours his party. How many republican sinators voted against Trump in the second impeachment trial?, few. Did Trump incite the capitol hill invasion or not?, yes he did. plaindealer: Playing catch up with the North is doable, but it won't be easy, the North developed their agric system over several decades while we moved away from agric, our cocoa, and rubber, we rendered ourselves to consumers and created perpetual dependency while we turn over tens of billions of Naira per day in food bill to the North. That's a lot of money.
Imagine the SW saving billions per day and keeping that money in the SW to improve our agric system and for development across the SW.
The North's main advantage right now is their vast irrigation system, something the SW don't know anything about, and until we iron out a broad irrigation system via our streams and rivers, figure out what to plant specifically in or states, where and how to raise animals for meat and dairy, storage, distribution, and export channels, we are just not going anywhere regardless of how many trucks we buy.
Just imagine, we have IITA in the SW right here under our nose and we are still dependent on others for food and basics, it's deplorable. You have said it all, omo that irrigation is the key to their agricultural success in the north. Their governments invest heavily on dams too, this is what helped the irrigation. When we are done gnashing our teeth, we go learn one or two things from the northern agric set up. In the meanwhile, lets pray for food to come in or else, ebi ni pa monamona ku.
