laiperi:
Clap for yourself.

So the Chinese went through 30 years of hell imposed by their leaders to become self sufficient and world power, eeh!

You went through how many years of slavery, how many years of colonial rule, how many years of Independece, how many years of military rule, how many years of Oddi, Zaki Biam, Beroni and Boko Haram massacre?

Las las you were one of the richest to attain the Poverty capital of the world.

These is what you got from comparing lack of freedom in China?

Buroda, think a bit nah.
Chinese went through 1000 years of colonization, Genghis Khan mongolian empire 1206-1368 C.E.
The Chinese suffered so much that when they eventually managed to dislodged the Mongolians, they had to build that great wall of China, as a defence against any other foreign invaders.
Despite the great wall, the Chinese were again colonized by the Great Britain, after which they went into communism.
I'm yet to see a people that have suffer as much as the Chinese, I guess the hard knock existence is what mould them into who they are today.
Last last, sense go fall on Nigerians.

China used brutal suppression to force self reliance. They banned virtually all imports, including food. Millions starved. And their middle classes had to use bicycles for transport, right up till the early 2000s, as all vehicle importation was banned.

There was mass opposition to these draconian policies for which countless millions of people were killed, tortured, and jailed, and many are still incarcerated till today.

Plus there are no civil rights. No freedom of speech or assembly, and one-party rule by the Chinese Communist party is the law.

Are you ready to go through the 30 years of HELL the Chinese people went through to be self-sufficient? If not - and I know you're not - then kindly STFU and accept the use of development loans and foreign capital.
Omo you nailed it.

Very very true.

Many multimillionaires have low-key become paupers due to this reckless insurrection.

Yes, SARS did many evils. Yes, our government has done many wrongs. But is this reckless act the solution?

In the end, you killed many struggling citizens like you, you destroyed the investment of many citizens like you. You couldn't even touch the politicians you claimed to be against. What's the difference between your delusion and Boko Haram's foolishness?

I get, you feel justified because you've scored a political point against Tinubu. And that political point is worth any number of lives.
Did you see how the soro soke crew were hacking people to death just because they want easy money for Christmas?.
Imagine slashing people with cutlass and taking their phones and wallets.
Politics › Re: FG Awaits $5.3 Billion Chinese Loan For Ibadan-kano Rail Line by 7lives: 12:12pm On Jan 10, 2021
Latvin:
The level of ignorance is so high, driven by primordial sentiments. The PHC-Maiduguri and Ibadan-Kano rail lines still cross many Southern cities. Lagos-Calabar rail is in the works and will eventually be done.

The other day, Amaechi was remonstrating with the Southern Reps and Senators not to be impediments to the actualisation of the Lagos-Calabar rail project but they shoved him aside, now they will turn back to accuse him of not prioritising it.

The AKK pipeline is the third in a series of major gas pipeline networks to be built in the country. That overall gas plan was put in place in 2008 and the implementation has progressed since then. The first two pipelines run from the Niger Delta to Lagos (completed and in use for years now) and the second is the one from the East somewhere in Imo State traversing all across to join the first pipeline in the West (almost completed). The third is the AKK pipeline now approved and to be constructed, within the overall plan of industrialising the country via gas, put in place in 2008. But of course the ignorant ones will not have that background and jump at the mention of AKK as another Northern agenda.

My plea is for this govt to ignore the noise and forge ahead with their infrastructure plans. It will be clear soon enough to everyone about where we are going.
Check some of my post on this forum, I said Buhari will go into Nigeria history as the best president ever.
Not because he is the most intelligent among his peers, but because he is the most committed, and has the discipline and courage to do what it takes, to develop this country.
A lot of projects that Buhari government is undertaking now, should have been completed even before year 2000.
My dad told me that during the Festac 77, a foreign journalist interviewed a government officials, about the bogus spending.
The answer from the official is that, " money is not Nigeria's problem, na how to spend it ".
The whole world knows what happened to Nigeria five years later.
It takes a disciplined and a committed leader to build a nation.
A lot of heavy loads that are supposed to be moved by rail are being moved by road, killing and wasting human lives.
My prayer is that God should sustain Buhari to complete his tenure, so that some of his projects, will not become another abandoned project.
Buhari is Nigeria's Attarturk, God bless him.
God bless Nigeria.

You're just a loud dunce.

Go and learn the value of RAILWAYS in the development of a country, and how they drastically reduce the cost of doing business, leading to economic and industrial development.

The USA became the world's biggest economy on the strength of its massive investment in rail.

Big mouth critic with zero thinking ability.

Fool talking about ''half the money will be looted''. Which money? No money changes hands. The loan is about China funding the construction of the railway. It is a contract to build, not to hand anybody money.

Olodo people. Only big mouth to criticise, yet you know nothing.
You get time dey educate them, even if they see the world bank report of total earnings of this country for the fruitless 16 years of PDP, they will still Blame Buhari.
They only know how to follow the crowd, they don't bother to investigate the lies they are being fed with, they just open that sewage they called mouth and pollute everywhere with their stench.

I already told you, the coastal rail will allow for easy export of products from Lagos (and Lekki Free trade Zone) to southern and eastern Nigeria. It would also facilitate the import of natural commodities such as palm oil from Benin, Coal from Enugu, LNG from the delta, etc.

Here is a GDP per capita map of Nigeria. Clearly a SW to SE rail would generate more economic impact.
SW can do without all these aforementioned suggestions.

Youre not answering simple question. What would Lagos calabar benefit Lagos?

Lagos Kano will also be connected to apapa seaport.

Lagos state government is building a lot of infrastructures in lekki that will benefit Lagos state not those cities you mentioned up there

At least kano would bring more agricultural produce to Lagos state unlike those cities you mentioned above
Don't mind them, na great wall we go erect not rail.
This will be their purnishment for daring to burn our infrastructures in Lagos.

The funny thing is that line can be constructed with funds from Lagos state alone. But then, linking up the SE SW and SS/ND would mean improving the economy of the South while leaving that of the North. So, it wont be built for a while

I will personally recommend that a GREAT WALL be erected between SW and the rest of the south..

What political allies did Obj have in 1999

Did he even know when PDP was formed?

Selfish people always find a way to give a d*g a bad name to hang it.
Discuss your situation with the north, the results of 1999 election are online, did Yoruba voted Obj in 1999?, he was never their candidate, till today Obj only win his ward once and that is in 2015.
Yoruba political state of mind, can only be understand by Yorubas alone, Obj won his ward in 2015 because of his support for APC then, he lost it the moment he went back to PDP.
Yoruba political populace and PDP are like LIONS AND HAYENAS, they hardly mix, forget the rubbish that's going on in Oyo state, by 2023 the people will revert to their default mode.
The hungry Yoruba elders that have now become your political allies, have to go as far as corniving with Obj to kill Bola Ige, in other to manipulate elections in SW in favour of obj in 2003, a feat that is not possible if Bola Ige is still alive.
Yorubas will not pay Igbos for a bussiness Igbos did with the north, Yorubas and Igbos no dey mix politically why lie to Yourself?.
You have the Afeniferawon, this should be enough for you people, but barking out orders to the generality of Yorubas, they will simply ignore you, so face and discuss your demands with the North.

Traders are in for a lot of surprise and shocks this year.
Bitcoin has become so powerful that even gold is about to become her door mat.
This is one factor that a lot of forex traders are ignoring, but it's going to drain a lot of accounts.
The dollar is gold dependent, so as long as bitcoin continues to soar, gold will not do anything spectacular, so is the dollar.
Meanwhile Trump is also creating political uncertainty, that's making people to save their money in Bitcoin, bitcoin is now valued at about $700 billion, now this can influence a lot of trade decisions, remember we are just retailers.
It's either we swim with the tide or we get swept away by the tide.
Gold does not enjoy the stability that bitcoin enjoys at the moment, we all know implications of this on the dollar and we all know the effect of dollar on the other majors in the forex market.
So pick your trades where you can see clearly, the most important thing is to understand what is happening before placing your trade.
Learn to use the ADX, sometimes you see a complete set up and you are like boom this is it.
What will a trader do when you see a trade signal but the momentum is not right?.
Is this not what happened with in the market, especially the USD/ CAD yesterday?.
Best of luck to everyone.

But why dictate and appoint and act like you're a spiritual father or something. Do you know Lagos is lacking behind. We can acheive greater things with our population. Just Check stat of state that has Lagos kind of population around the world you'll know we're not faring batter as expected.

according to what I heard from some akure people they said what the governor was demanding from dangote was beyond imaginable , that foolishness on the governors part, its a pity the kind of greedy heart that becomes leader

He doesn't know when to sit back thats he's biggest problem. He's son is just like the face of Lagos. African leaders do have some kind of greediness that tarnish their image.

This the bigger question to ask. Epe division as been abandoned for too long. When ambode became governor while kick him out like you own Lagos! I'm from Epe and that will remain a big slap on me.
In this technology era Lagos gdp will continue to rise. Is there database on the amount of money agbero collect per day?
Is that how tax should be manage in a city ?
Why make hamzat deputy instead of governor?
If not of ulterior motives to rule a great state by proxy. Do you know state that has Lagos population around the world generate more than × 2 of Lagos IGR ?

On the bolded, Zik never even dreamt of becoming the premier of western region of Nigeria. Azikiwe contested election into regional house of assembly from Lagos. The person who would have become the head of business in what later became western region was Adegoke Adelabu. According to AMA Akinloye, "Anybody from western region of Nigeria who did not run under the umbrella of Action Group and later became a member of AG, defected" including his very self. Zik left western region not because of carpet crossing but issue with Olorunimbe as representative at the national level.
