ejunkie: @Wadoye - 2. Even if the CPC claim their donor obtained the soundtrack from Youtube, Youtube’s Terms of Service provide in paragraph 6D as follows – “You further agree that Content you submit to the Service will not contain thirdparty copyrighted material, or material that is subject to other third party proprietary rights, unless you have permission from the rightful owner of the material or you are otherwise legally entitled to post the material and to grant YouTube all of the license rights granted herein.” AND THIS IS THE CRUX OF OUR GRIEVANCE!! Blue Labs never submitted the video to Youtube, is therefore not subject to their terms of service, and any user of their copyrighted material on Youtube infringes the Terms of Service of Youtube.
3. The maker of the video is irrelevant to whether or not the broadcast by the CPC on all its official e-channels constitutes infringement. The CPC for all intents and purposes is the broadcaster of the infringing video and is liable for its actions. It behoved upon the CPC Organisation to carry out due diligence before accepting such gifts from its supporters.
If CPC produces their agent that produced the video, They will sue him/her too. SHikena!

@9ijaMan Nothing is over till they publish every evidence they claim to have. Talk is cheap. Let them publish alleged recorded calls, and all the ther things they claim. Simple!
Whether Buhari wins or loses the elections, he still has to pay for wrong uses of intellectual property. It doesnt get simpler than that.
Do you read at all? Can you really comprehend English? Just read through your posts again and tell us how you make any sense. You guys should go and re-strategize again and come up with another pack of lies. Just be rest assured that we'll be waiting for you again with the right answers.
deola007: CPC"S OFFICIAL RESPONSE TO SPURIOUS INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY CLAIMS
Don’t Blackmail CPC and General Buhari
We consider it a privilege to document our thoughts on this distraction attempt by so called youths and their childish attempts at blackmail.
The logo of the CPC is a pen and a flag, it means the party is keen on knowledge, deeply patriotic and eager to re-write Nigeria’s history. We are amazed that digital youths can be so uninformed about the social media we have all come to taut ourselves as experts on.
There are a few documents on this that state actual facts about how this is a cheap blackmail attempt. Some of the documents will be held until further evidence is required.
1. We have documents showing the letters received by CPC officials from third party individuals, the date it got to CPC officials and required time for response. These documents show that we communicated with them within their time frame.
2. We have records of email from Femi Odewumi, MD of Bluelabs LLC indicating their intention to sell the “project” to CPC.
3. We have records of our phone conversations with the MD of Bluelabs LLC, Femi Odewumi where we requested a meeting to make available to him the facts about this case that they have not put into consideration. We also have a record of his return call indicating that his team is meeting in the afternoon and he will get back to us. All these conversations happened hours before launching their malicious website and Femi Odewunmi has not called back.
4. We have records of the the source of the YouTube video, an individual (a fan of the Buhari/Bakare 2011 Campaign) who made it and the various people who have uploaded other videos using the same soundtrack. This YouTube video was a user generated content offered to Buhari4Change Fanpage publicly on Facebook with permissions for use.
5. We have screen shots backing up every detail, some of which are already being adjusted by the people perpetrating this ill. While neither CPC nor any of it’s officials own, designed or developed the YouTube video montage in question, please find below the terms and conditions of Youtube. This “Transformation soundtrack” has been used to create videos and uploaded to YouTube since, the Jan 30, 2011 (or earlier). YouTube’s Terms of Service about video uploaded to their website states:
by submitting Content to YouTube, you hereby grant YouTube a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicenseable and transferable license to use, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works of, display, and perform the Content in connection with the Service and YouTube’s (and its successors’ and affiliates’) business, including without limitation for promoting and redistributing part or all of the Service (and derivative works thereof) in any media formats and through any media channels. You also hereby grant each user of the Service a non-exclusive license to access your Content through the Service, and to use, reproduce, distribute, display and perform such Content as permitted through the functionality of the Service and under these Terms of Service.
– Excerpts from YouTube Terms of Service. If you feel strongly that the people who initially uploaded your music have violated your rights. There is a process with YouTube to notify them before it becomes viral.
It is a big shame, that opposition politicians can go to any length to corrupt the youth of a nation, at this time, when we are battling for the nations soul.
CPC and Buhari-Bakare have become a growing movement in Nigeria, social media and user generated content are an integral part of ensuring information dissemination beyond government controlled media. While CPC and General Buhari will not infringe on people’s intellectual property, WE WILL NOT SUCCUMB TO BLACKMAIL,
For those who can read and comprehend the English language properly: It's all over! Bluelabs has enjoyed roughly 20 hours of cheap publicity. Can we just move on.
And to all those dimwits screaming about IP infringement, I hope you can now see that I've been vindicated. As soon as you load your stuffs on YouTube, you lose every IP right you have on it.
Jarus, I didn't discuss the payment methods because she said we can still negotiate to beat down the price if we want to go with several spots per day. We may need to have someone on ground to handle this bit with the WaZoBia guys!
If we all agree to go for 4 slots per day as suggested by Jarus, I'll throw in 100K tonite.
Jarus if we have excess funds, just use it to increase the slots. I'll send the remaining 50K of the amount I was originally willing to drop into the BB campaign account in GTB.
rhymz: @9jaman Which Niger Delta Federal Universities are you talking about? UniPort or Unical both of which I know very well, there is no such thing as a PTF building or projects there. Don't mistake ETF projects for the defunct PTF's. You talk with so much ignorance and reckless abandon of facts in your blind followership of Buhari, you have turned him into an overnight saint. This Buhari who you now paint in such glorious terms may have appeared to you as an angel, may indeed be anything else but one. Let us look at this Buhari in an objective manner and see if he indeed is as rosy as you paint him. In 1984, fresh from his coup against what you so call "Shagari's inept and corrupt regime" (and pray tell me which man made regime is free from ineptitude or corruption?) he introduced the War Against Indiscipline or "WAI" which Nigerians accepted with open hands. This man then went on to change the colouration of the currency, ostensibly to check economic saboteurs, and capital flight and he also directed that foreign currency could not be taken out of the country, except a very little sum approved by the CBN. In that same year and at the height of his WAI, we all saw how the matter of an important emir and his 54 suitcases of money seized at Murtala Mohammed Airport was handled. But what was even more curious was that around the time of this incidence, the maverick musician Fela who was traveling for a musical tour to Italy with his band boys was caught with less than a thousand pounds, and was subsequently arrested. Not only was he arrested and tried, but another mysterious telephone call was made to Justice Okoro Idogu the trial judge by Buhari's deputy Tunde Idiagbon, ordering that Fela must be found guilty and given a stiff sentence. This coming from Justice Idogu's very own mouth. Buhari and Idiagbon in their zeal to enhance discipline and curb economic waste, ordered that no underaged person cold go on Hajj to Mecca (under aged being under 18).The same Idiagbon, under Buhari then proceeded to take his own underaged son in the presidential jet to perform hajj. Buhari's government passed a law to the effect that if you publish anything that even if true was in the opinion of the chief of staff supreme military council, capable of embarrassing any public official, then you had committed a crime. When the nation thought he was joking, he sent two journalist, and a cartoonist to jail for publishing materials which were TRUE, but which Buhari found uncomplimentary. When asked by journalist when he was going to transit Nigeria into a democracy, this very man Buhari answered that he had no time for that. You mention that Buhari paid half our national debt. That is a untrue! The fact is that Buhari repudiated all Nigeria's international financial commitments, and stopped all payments till debts could be verified. This ostensibly is a good policy, only that all international financial institution till today lost faith in Nigeria, and refused to give Nigeria credits for her imports. Nigeria from thence on had to always finance her imports before hand by guaranteeing them with her foreign reserves. Further on the economy, Buhari began to barter Nigeria's oil for goods Nigeria needed. Why? Because nobody would do business with the country based on credit, in other words Nigeria was no longer credit worthy, as such we became desperate and started going against our OPEC commitments by bartering our oil for goods far less than their value! In a religious and ethnically heterogeneous country as ours, Buhari saw no problem that both the head of state and his vice under his regime were of the same religion and ethnicity, Muslim Hausa Fulani (although many in the south erroneously believed that from his name, Idiagbon was Yoruba). And while Buhari's tribunals which tried the civilian governors threw them in jail with terms ranging from 5 years to 250 years, it was on record that the cost of keeping the military governors he appointed was more than that of their civilian predecessors (A practice which continued into the Babangida years) Everybody in Nigeria knew that Abacha was an usurper, and that he was uncontrollably corrupt and was also involved in state sponsored murder, but Buhari who you paint in such glowing colours, still agreed to serve under such a man as the chairman of PTF. As chairman of PTF, he made his own cousin the sole consultant for monitoring and assessing the value of contracts. Afriproject consortium was so corrupt that at the inception of Abdulsalami's regime, fearful of exposure, Buhari's cousin committed suicide in his office. When the books of PTF were opened, the can of worms was so much that Haruna Adamu said he felt sickened by it. One body determined the contracts to be awarded, the payments to be made and whether the contracts had been satisfied. Do you know PTF estate in Wuse? The sweetheart deal that Buhari's PTF made with the contractor was so sweet. Not only would the contractor collect rent from PTF, but after 8 years, the place would be his to own! Also, it is on record that though most of the monies which accrued to PTF was sourced from the south, a disproportionately large amount of projects were concentrated in the north, and particularly in Buhari's home state of Katsina, with little done in the east and Niger Delta which needed help more than ever! Is Buhari a statesman? Please ask yourself and answer objectively.
Chief, you have once again failed to consult your history books properly. ETF only started to deliver project from 1999 after Buhari had left the scene. ETFs projects came to being after OBJ summarily scrapped PTF. The projects I've referred to were all executed mostly before 1999. If you don't know, all you need to do is ask or consult the internet or better still go back to the respective institutions and confirm. No need to muddle things up, there was no ETF project before 1999. See the ETF official web link on ETF projects for yourself.
nelsonchuks: Yea INNOSON Vehicle manufacturing company of Nnewi is functional, they happen to be the first indigenous vehicle manufacturing company in Nigeria,Mr president is 100% right.
Bros Innoson does not Manufacture cars 100% o! The company can at best be described as a car assembly plant. You cannot claim to be manufacturing cars in Nigerian when all you do is to import parts from china and put them together under a new brand name!
I just finished speaking with someone at WaZoBia FM and had a 21 minutes of fruitful discussion with the lady I spoke with. In fact I was able to make her have a rethink about her support for Ribadu, which she originally revealed to me when I told her I'm a BB fan. In any case, the figures I got from her are as given below:
Premium Time:
[li]5am to 12noon[/li] [li]3pm to 5am[/li]
Regular Time
[li]12noon to 3pm[/li]
For the premium time, a spot (one time) advert will cost =N=2,928 for the first 15 seconds and the same amount for every additional 15 seconds.
The regular time slot will cost =N=2,352 for the first 15 seconds and every 15 seconds thereafter.
She said if we want to have several slots in a single day, we can negotiate with the marketing department for some discounts.
Please note that each slot is not limited to 15 seconds only. 15s is just the minimum time for a spot.
PAN has been privatized (or sold) to OBJs cronies; for the avoidance of doubt, senator (former Governor) Makarfi & co. Majority of the workers there have been sacked ( or retrenched)
presently, only one assembly line for peogeot 307 is functional with a daily output of twenty-two (22) cars par day and less than 5,000 cars annually.
i'm not aware of any other vehicle manufacturing plant that is functional.
on this note, I would like to give a big kudos (probably my vote; yes my vote ! ) to Buhari who single handedly, without
any noise, gave a life line to a comatosed ANAMCO, during the PTF days, with a contract to assemble (with substantial
local content) the rugged 1414 buses which were distributed to almost all the tertiary institutions in nigeria. Most of us
enjoyed them; and till date, (about 15 years later) some are still functional and useful to the universities, polytechnics,
colleges of educations, colleges of nursing, monotechnics, etc .
However, GEJ and his pdp killed these assembly plants, systematically, and someone today is insulting the
sensiblilities of an informed nigeria by giving a directive for parastatals to start patronizing what is just not available.

non sense!
Thank you my brother. Obviously GEJ supporters will come out to deny this again.
You need to do better than this! Like show Seun how anti-corruption crusade will not affect his business.
Do you think D'banj supports GEJ because of morals? It's all about interests people.
If my personal interest is threatened by the possibility of BB in government, why would I support such movement.
Ask Dangote why he supports every dVnce that comes to power. Unlike many of us, Seun has got bigger stake
in the whole arrangement. Only resolute convictions can make high stakeholders go against an incumbent in
If Jonathan could not score even when the whole field was abandoned for him and there was no skipper in the goal post, what kind of 'football star' is he?
Totally hilarious. GEJ is now on record to be worse than Yakubu Aiyegbeni.
Very nice write up. I'll advice the author to deploy the 'pillow talk' tactics to win his wife over.
agabaI23: Assuming Buhari has won the election and ordered FG parastatals to patronise Nigerian made cars, what would have been the response of the BB supporters? Majority would jump into nairaland singing his praises saying things like . . 1. We said it, he is the messiah 2. GEJ would never have done that 3. This man is the in thing 4. Thank God we voted him etc
Why can't you guys be honest for ones?
Condemning good policies because it came from an opposition does not make you patriotic, it makes you pathetic.
Buhari will certainly never make such a ludicrous statement without first ensuring the environment is right and conducive. Hence no need for your warped conclusion.
Guyman02: Let every state govt focus on an item it has comparative advantage and request the FG to buy them. GEJ should request that toothpicks must come from Sapele and ban Chinese toothpicks in Nigeria. Good thinking GEJ, seems like he read our opinions on NL concerning the award of contracts for the purchase of busses to a Chinese firm by NLC when we have INNOSON, TATA, ANNAMCO etc assembling same vehicles in Nigeria.
How come such a "good thinking" was amiss when GEJ approved the purchase of garbage bins for almost 1 billion just a few months back!
Comparing Garbage Bins and cars, which one is being fully manufactured in Nigeria? Which of the two is actually easier to manufacture in Nigeria?
Seun: So I'm not allowed to even suggest that Buhari is not necessarily a perfectly righteous man?
You are allowed to hold opinions and even make suggestions. The onus lies on you to ensure that your suggestions are backed up with facts and not falsehood, lies and deceptions. You may own NL, but your words are certainly not sacrosanct! Joining the fray of those falsehood and deception peddlers on NL will only do more damage to your business than any good. You have labored hard to achieve what you have, following this path of misrepresenting the truth will only bring you short term returns but a lifetime of misery. Take my advise bro, I've been there and seen it all.
Take a few minutes and go through the posts in the thread. Read the through thread and you'll find answers in case you were too young to know what Buhari did for the country when he held sway.
somze: Both. The soundtrack was theirs and also the idea.
Are you saying Omolara is now bluelab personified? Abeg direct us to the link where we can confirm that Omolara and Asuquo Cobhams are also the owners of bluelab!
If you cannot find any link between them, it'll do you a lot of good to simply shut it!
somze: It is strange that some Buhari supporters are so blind.
So since Buhari is your candidate, it now becomes ok to steal intellectual property and refuse to pay compensation or to offer an explanation to the owners of the property.
This is not only wrong it is illegal.
In lay man's term, can you kindly point out precisely the IP rights that were infringed upon by the BB team? Is it the soundtrack or the slideshow?
We need to separate the shaft from the seeds. Abeg all these GEJ noise makers should come out to tell us the exact IP rights team BB has contravened!
seun is a young capitalist hustling in a fcked economy !
Yes Seun is a young capitalist who's sole interest would certainly be to protect his investment. I sure would not blame Seun for falling for the GEJ intimidation as we are witnessing across the nation and on news media outlets in Nigeria. The only problem I have with Seun's approach is his deceptive manner of supporting GEJ. Seun can support GEJ without peddling falsehood which has unfortunately dented whatever little image he has made for himself as the onwer of NL.
Just as someone already alluded, Seun would probably end up being added to the ever growing Special Assistants of GEJ, if (God forbid) GEJ wins the elections.
Beaf, I'll give this to you as you have successfully used the Federal might to intimidate Seun.
Seun, your OAU Ife days, however short they may be were not anything near this bad, at least from what I scooped up about your exploits in Ife.
oluwabamis: seun, i think you must be as neutral as possible when it comes to this election issues since you are c.e.o. of this forum. the reason is simple, we cant have an honest analysis if the head of the forum has a candidate he supports. you are just like a traditional ruler, who is supposed to be neutral politically for the sake of peace in his kingdom.
the same thing goes fof INEC, Judiciary and the NGOs, you happen to fall into this category.
opalu: YOU JUST TOOK OFF THE WORDS FROM MY OWN MIND ALSO. SEUN, BE CAREFUL. AISHA2 AND JARUS ARE LIKE COACHES BUT YOU ARE LIKE A REFREE.
@Oluwabamis & Opalu, I slightly disagree with you guys here. Seun is free to take sides as he's a Nigerian who would also be affected by the policies of any government we have in the country. Where I have issues with Seun's posts these past few days are his deliberate attempts at distorting facts and peddling of falsehood in his bid to promote his chosen candidate, GEJ, while he's shamefully and aimlessly attempting to denigrate Buhari. Unfortunately for him, he's been caught pants down on all occasions.
the bolded is the current most stooopid thing ever said by anyone on the internet as at today.
Look, you are saying, if i write or create a song, an article or a scientific idea, and put it for free on the internet, then I have lost all claims including IP and copyrights on that item? Do you think at all?
I've told you before that you need to use the internet and make yourself aware of what IP rights entails. IP rights are claimed for items and/or inventions which originally evolves from the true owner. In this particular case, bluelab does not own the song, unless Omolara is now Bluelab personified. Until then, you've no case.
On free materials available on the internet, no one and I repeat no one can claim IP rights for materials you find on sites such as YouTube. If those materials remain on YouTube and the owners have not written Google (owners of YouTube) about any IP right, your reasoning is completely out of place. As long as those videos remain on YouTube, bluelab has no case. I hope I have made myself clearer to you!
abibio2001: From comments on the website,http://buharistoleouridea.com, some people claim the soundtrack was performed by Omolara Ayodele, a philosophy graduate of University of Ibadan turned singer/songwriter with the Cohbams Asuquo Music Production outfit. Is this true? If so, why havent they come out to complain about copyright infringements?or acknowledge they sold the rights to Bluelabs? Hmmmmm
Thank you o! While PhD holders above are still struggling to define what Intellectual Property (IP) rights mean. If Omolara is not complaining, how come it's bluelabs?
Why not just show us who the owners of the intellectual rights for the two videos which are freely available on YouTube? When an item becomes freely available online, you lose all financial and otherwise claims you can make for such against anyone who uses it. Perhaps google.com will be more useful for you.
Bluelabs has not come out to claim they own the free YouTube videos, or have they just woken up from their deep slumber just to be in the news for a few minutes?
muami: What does the date of registration has to do with the fact that their intellectual property was stolen? Why is it that these buhari people only understand issues as far as thier oga? You mean you dont understand that the website was specifically registered to protest against the stealing of thier IP and campaign for a compensation to be paid. That would mean that you dont also understand that websites can be opened for just for a particular purpose. For example,Buhari's campaign site was only opened when he decided to contest for elections.Does that mean Buhari is fake?
Of course I expect you guys to try to spin the info about the date as well. Does "bluelabs" own intellectual rights to the free versions available on YouTube too? Abeg answer o! 'cos if there is a free version on the internet, then bluelabs claims are at best very dubious.

If we have to go by your distorted logic, then the bluelab guys should clamin compensation for the followings too:
While Seun Osewa the NL owner has now declared his intention to stand against the progressive people of Nigeria, a stance he is free to take. The only problem lies in the continued lies being peddled by these GEJ cronies on NL. One of such lies is the title of this thread. It been shown that the domain name for BuhariStoleOurIdea.Com was only registered yesterday 31st of March 2011. How come these so called bluelab guys posted their own video version of the song on the internet for the first time only yesterday and are now claiming ownership of the intellectual property of what the a BB volunteer posted a few days earlier.
Seun as an IT entrepreneur, I expect you to either verify the source of your info well ahead before making such laughable posts. A simple search on the internet revealed the falsehood you tried to peddle with this post. You may own NL, but you certainly don't own the people who come here to share ideas. I do not have any problem with you supporting the clueless GEJ, what we have problems with is you and the rest of GEJ supporters using lies and deceits to make your warped points.
Fellow Nigerians, for those of us who care to know the truth, the details of the registration date for the bluelab phony web page can be easily obtained from: www.whois.net . All you need to do is to search for the domain owner of "Buharistoleouridea.com" and the result yielded is given below:

Nigerians donot be deceived, even if the information is emanating from the owner of NL. Ensure you make your research before believing anything coming from these GEJ babies on NL.
^^^ I thot as much! I was wondering how those guys came out all of a sudden claiming to own the intellectual property on the jingle. These GEJ supporters are just as dumb as they come. Once again, team GEJ has been caught pants down.
Seun: Maybe he just personally hates the men and it has nothing to do with integrity.
Haba Seun!!!
Has the PDP bribery machine reached you too. It seems you are now on GEJ's pay list as these your comments are indeed suspect o!
Don't forget that once the elections are over, you are bound to squander whatever you collect and may lose your own integrity along the way. If you keep at it, NL may lose it's appeal. I'd advice you to safeguard and cherish what you have o! These unguarded statements will make you and your business lose credibility.
And I also know a reliable IT guy who works for INEC and says the propped up figures were meant to assist GEJ to rig the election. So which of these so called reliable guys should we believe?
been having hard time convincing a particular friend, but all the same, he's getting soft.
Too much of sentimental support for GEJ by most of my southern friends.
Heard the jingles on channels and it was less than 15 seconds, not precise to my liking, wish it could rule out what BB ticket wants to do for the nation and not just "who will save Nigeria" message it has on it.
The article has been on NL for about 2 days now, under a mischievously different heading and discussions have been ongoing on it. It was originally posted with the same title 'casting demons out of Tunde Bakare', see link below:
