Me I'd have instituted a case of false accusation, attempted murder and fraud against him and told the police to detain him since we were already in a police station. You were just lucky with that crowd, You could have lost your life. People have been lynched in similar circumstances. 'Conspiracy to bring false accusation' carries a minimum sentence of 7 years imprisonment in the Criminal Code Act of Nigeria (Section 125) We need to start teaching criminal conspirators/false accusers lessons. |

Pre-election Politics! You may not agree with everything NLC does but a physical assault on an NLC president is a slap on the faces of all Nigerian workers and a dangerous precedent. A verbal apology won't cut it. The people involved need to be held responsible and brought to book. |

Kissing is a common gesture of greeting in Europe and some parts of America. While cheek-kissing is common in many cultures, each country has a unique way of kissing. In Slovenia, Serbia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Russia, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Poland and Lebanon, it is customary to "kiss three times, on alternate cheeks". Italians, Croatians and Hungarians usually kiss twice in a greeting and in Mexico and Belgium only one kiss is necessary. In Ecuador, women kiss on the right cheek only and in Oman it is not unusual for men to kiss one another on the nose after a handshake #A little learning is dangerous and google is our friend. |
Relax guys Let them be prosecuted. Those that can prove their innocence will be set free and the full weight of the law should come down on the rest. These guys are making life impossible for legit online transactions. Once you drop Nigeria as your country, you are immediately profiled negatively. I know the EFCC are not eager to prosecute corrupt politicians. In fact I'm beginning to think that their primary mandate is to pursue yahoo boys. Still, let's not defend criminals. We should just put pressure on EFCC to go after the real criminals in office. |
May God protect him wherever he is and bring him back safely 🙏 |
Anyone who cannot reason beyond tribe, race or religion is half-brained. I will support any Nigerian with the right qualities. |

🐘 Project Even if the request was from the Navy, couldn't the committee on appropriation question its relevance? The reason has to be stated and justified. Saying that the Navy must have operational reasons for including it in their budget just doesn't sit well. |

They may not be able to tie them to Mohbad's death but there's overwhelming evidence of harassment and Mohbad filed a case of assault and threat to life before his demise. Their counsel is not sensible. Sueing the Police is a wrong move. |

I don't know why I saw Report Card at first read. I saw these questions online yesterday: Why was this shooter certified okay and released from the institution where he was previously held? Which Individuals/organizations were responsible for keeping tabs on him? Which laws were broken by such organizations and what are the penalties? This is not a case of an unknown shooter. He was already known to be unstable and thus, potentially dangerous. Someone has to be held responsible. This cannot keep happening unchecked. |
Virginia Woolf For those disputing the inclusion of Things Fall Apart, this list is actually from a reputable British website: britannica.com https://www.britannica.com/list/12-novels-considered-the-greatest-book-ever-written I wonder why the OP didn't state the source. Things Fall Apart is more than just a novel written by a Nigerian. You need to understand the literary significance and impact on African literature. One of the first African novels to receive global critical acclaim. It is widely read and studied in English-speaking countries around the world. The novel was first published in the United Kingdom in 1962 by William Heinemann Limited, and became the first work published in Heinemann's African Writers Series (most of which I binge-read). It is regarded as a milestone in Anglophone African literature, and for the perception of African literature in the West. It has come to be seen as the archetypal modern African novel in English, and is read in Nigeria and throughout Africa. It is studied widely in Europe, India, and North America, where it has spawned numerous secondary and tertiary analytical works. It has achieved similar status and repute in Australia and Oceania. It has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide. Time magazine included the novel in its TIME 100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005. It has been translated into more than 50 languages, and is often used in literature, world history, and African studies courses across the world. The publication of Achebe's Things Fall Apart helped pave the way for numerous other African writers. Novelists who published after Achebe were able to find an eloquent and effective mode for the expression of the particular social, historical, and cultural situation of modern Africa. Before Things Fall Apart was published, most of the novels about Africa had been written by European authors, portraying Africans as savages who were in need of western enlightenment. This book helped convince the world that African Writers have something to offer and publishers paid attention. The comment below is needless. Wole Soyinka is one of the greatest literary icons in the world and last time I checked, he is still the only Nigerian with the Nobel prize in Literature. Rare feat! adolfHitler1934:Achebe & Soyinka were founding members of Ulli Beier's Mbari Club, together with J.P Clark, Chris Okigbo, Demas, Mabel and Pa Bruce Onobrakpeya and they all maintained maximum respect for one another. It's sad to see this generation of youngsters, most of who do not know literary s**t from chocolate denigrate their legacy. It's high time we switched off our tribal antennae |
Yes, Tuface obviously did him dirty. Black was right in calling him out, suing him and forcing the resolution to share the proceeds from African Queen. He should have moved on after that but he didn't. Now, very talented Blackface spent most of his productive years hating Tuface. Years he could have invested in songwriting, collaborations and grooming young artists. Sadly, he literally paused his own progress to monitor and hate on Tuface. This should be a lesson to all of us. |
Very tough choice because the three of them have done incredibly well. Rema released Dumebi aged 19 in 2019 and it was refreshingly unique and catchy. Like some of Jazzy's previous younglings, many expected his light to dim, but he dropped banger after banger, established a distinct musical style, went global with Calm Down and put his sound on the world map. He won Headies next rated 2019 and he is just 23. Omah Lay's 'Lo Lo' is unarguably one of the best songs released during the COVID. It ruled the airwaves and definitely made our lockdown better. He proved not to be a flash in the pan by staying consistent and he does not have a bad song till date. He went on to win the headies next rated award for year 2020. He is 26. Asake was so ubiquitous in 2022 that he became a household name in less than a year. He is a typical case of preparation meets opportunity. He and Yhemolee practically ruled the entertainment space while at OAU Ife, so when YBNL came calling, he was ready. I call him the Tupac of our day because his lyrical prowess is mind-blowing. Headies next rated 2023. He is 28. You see why it is a difficult choice, they were all rated to blow. I will go with Omah Lay though. Reason: While Rema had Don Jazzy and Asake had Olamide, Omah Lay self-produced his debut song 'bad influence' to break himself into the limelight. |
