Thank you for your response. From different messages on this thread, I am inferring that the biometric slots are kind of scarce, so I want to know if paying for a priority visa makes you get a slot or slots are independent of priority or normal visa application.

Placement is also known as internship (to the best of my knowledge).

The O&A rates are used by the VO while checking the application but due to the exchange rate fluctuations, I advice you save at 650 naira to a pound. Gives some room for the rise & fall.

You can either use your account or your dads but just ensure your required funds have been held for 28 days at least.
I used my dad as my sponsor & his account. You’ll need a letter from him stating he’s sponsoring you & of course your birth certificate to show proof of relationship.

Please at what point does one book for Biometrics? If one does a priority visa application, will it make the applicant get a slot for biometrics?

After submitting your visa application online, you’ll see the prompt for “provide documents & biometrics “
When you click on this, you’ll be redirected to the TLS Website where you’ll have the option of paying for TLS services like courier, sms & UKVI services like priority, etc.

After you select all the services, you’ll then select a date and then make your payment.

I paid for priority, I submitted 3rd of June & got 8th June (the weekend was in between)!

Hi everyone, from what I’ve gathered here, it seems visa application should be submitted a few days before biometrics. But I already submitted my visa application sometime last week on gov.uk, but my appointment at IOM is on the 3rd of August (that’s the earliest I got). And I hope to go for biometrics immediately after. Hope this will not affect my visa.

It’s fine.
Just go ahead and book your biometrics and also upload your documents before going for biometrics. Biometric dates are scarce.
Try going to IOM to get an earlier booking

How were you able to get your biometrics done close to your date of submission?

I think because I paid priority. I got a closer slot. When my sister was renewing her visit visa, she got 10 days away…. Even after paying for prime time.

No I was not interviewed. In the last 10 years I’ve been to the uk 5 times and before then, more times. So I had pretty decent travel history to the UK which helped. I even attached the Canadian refusal letters. I was very transparent and I trusted God

There are many available slots for next week. The problem is once I select a timeslot, a popup appears asking me to confirm and after confirmation, another popup comes up asking if I wanted Superpriority with an option to choose 'super-priority' or click 'no, thanks.'

If I click 'no, thanks' I am taken back to the appointment page instead of the checkout page. I only get to the checkout page if I select super-priority. I have tried this with different dates and it's still the same. Of course, I don't want super-priority

It’s possibly because you’re picking the slots with an arrow. They’re “paid” or prime time.

Am new here and need some clarifications please, Have been denied canada work visa in the past and the passport has expired, am on CAS right now, do I need to tell them I have once being denied visa since am using new passport or I have to indicate I have being denied before?

Please declare. You must remember that all passports are linked, the old number is usually on the new one so if they have any reason to look, they I’ll find it. It does no one any good when they hide refusals … rather declare it and where necessary, explain.

Nah, don’t panic. I submitted my previous visas to the Uk as well as my Canada study permit refusals (2)
My CAS was issued. Just be honest and trust God.

Go to the Lagos office as soon as you can, explain your situation…, stating clearly that you’ve not been able to book online.
They’ll tell you to write your name down & give you a date

The poster is saying that most schools will require you show them your proof of funds that show funds have been held untouched for 28 days. (Enough to cover maintenance & tuition balance)

I like to believe that for all UK universities, some form of deposit is required to register intent, secure a spot and obtain your CAS (no matter how small the money is). Without your CAS you can’t apply for a visa.
