Congratulations!!! This was a journey but worth it in the end. kpizzle: Approval!
1st Application (paper route) - 14th of May 2018 1st Refusal - 7th of June 2018 2nd Application (paper route) - 17th July 2018 Upfront Medical - 24th July 2018 2nd Refusal - 2nd of August 2018 Judiciary Review application - 29th of August 2018 Refusal Set Aside: 11th of October 2018 (Online Status reverted back to "Submitted" Passport Request: 15th April 2019 Approval: 16th April 2019
My VISA journey has been rough with many twists and turns. Between October 2018 and December 2018, I got 2 LOA request and 3 SOA request from IRCC. They even requested for an unusual SOA format called "My Bank Statement with ticket ID". And after providing it in December they went mute until I aligned and adopted the "Austacus formula" on April 13th before I received passport request on the 15th.
All along I kept praying and never lost faith. I need to give special shout out to @galala123, a "brother from another mother", I owe him a lot for is support, encouragement and advice. We whined, complained, analyzed and rejoiced together. I also want to thank @jnyuwa02, I wonder why he has been silent recently but then he reached out to me and offered his support. Also special mention to my MAY/JUNE/JULY family, Makano, Austacus and 042viber12.
I almost forgot my main man "Lemia". He was the person that first took me by the hands and show me the way. We will definitely rock University of Waterloo together.
To all hopefuls, it shall all end in praise. |

Hi Hilary, This is what I was thinking too. At the time I applied it's safe to say there was a lot of backlog cos I applied in February, however it's obvious that has drastically reduced as processing times have dropped drastically as well. I find it absurd that CIC will use processing time as at Application date; because like you have rightly stated it's retrospective. I'm however not saying they don't. I wouldn't be asking if I knew and i appreciate everyone responding to my question. ....I'll like further clarification from anyone who is certain though. hilaryxoxo: Please let me understand... Did they specifically mention that "the application hasn't passed the processing time for when you applied" ? Its important to explain the context. Did you send the CSE after 5 weeks (when current processing time was 10 weeks and when processing time as at when you applied was 14 weeks?)
I have reasons I'm asking this... I want to believe processing times are retrospective because CIC even says that "processing time tells you how long it took them to process most complete applications, in the past"... SO THEREFORE, any processing time you see on their website is a reflection of the average time it took them to process applications IN THE PAST! NOT the time it would take to process new applications in the future... Based on this, I think the processing time should be applied realtime. |

Morning!
I'll like to ask a question in regards to processing times which is now 10 WEEKS for Applications made from Nigeria.
Which processing time applies to me? The one at the time I applied or the current one? I'll appreciate your response.
Thank you |

No need to ruffle your feathers. While you have valid points, what I'm saying in essence is find a polite way to pass your message across! It's not the first time and you're not the only individual that gives such responses. While you're helping people out, which I'm sure is appreciated, we should remember to keep in touch with our human side; be more human. A little politeness never hurt anyone. Like I earlier stated and I still maintain, it is not a personal attack and isn't for you alone. Have a good night! Qudkom: How is this not a personal attack. "If you don't have any answer, would be nicer to move along".
Sometimes people just find it hard to hear the truth. Can you send a webform complaining that you haven't gotten a reply in just about 30days? You always see the estimated processing time popping up on the cic website. If you get a response under 30days then that's your luck and if you dont you keep praying and hoping you get a response.
I submitted an application January 3rd I didn't get any response after my medical in February. But since it hasn't elapsed the processing time I kept hoping. There's just so much arrogance about your statement. But then nothing you do can fully please people. You tell them the truth and the make reference to something.
All I said was for the applicant to be patient(less than 30days application) and you come about saying this. To every individual offering something to this forum what you said is insulting and a slap to their face |

While some people have had to wait longer for their medical request, some haven't had to. If you don't have any answer, would be nicer to move along. Using your application as an example, you got your medical request in about a month; would you have said this if it was you? It's totally okay for people to worry (if they haven't gotten feedback) without them feeling like it's some competition with statements like this and others! You lot need to understand that many times, people come here to talk about their application to seek support, not to hear they are baby applicants, after all some applications don't spend up to 6 weeks and they are approved! PS: This not a personal attack, just quoting this as an example. Welldone for all the good work. Qudkom: Lol calm your nerves you just submitted. |

Congratulations! Dolapok: TRV Approved!!!! I just checked it now. I am very new on this platform infact the newest self. I joined months after submitting my application. I was naive about the whole process. I met @Qudkom in person in december and he put me through the entire process. I couldn't have done it without God and him. I was always reluctant to join and he made me join. Even if I am new here I still thought to share my testimony. And to all others I pray for a successful application. Once again thanks to @Qudkom he literally went through every page of my document and scrutinised everything, when he told me to start afresh I thought it was a joke but now I see the value. I am very lucky I met him in person and he introduced me to this platform. |

To all May June and July applicant slide in my pm, I have a secret for you guys.
I actually went to anifowoshe on Wednesday. The person I met just like me at first sight and he told me the secret then he prayed for me and wish me good luck. I may go back there and tell him thank you.
This visa suffered me. The day I did my biometrics, VAC was still working till 8 pm that day, I left home around 7 and left VAC 7 pm. I was sleeping on steering... I almost had an accident that very day but God came through for me. So whenever I remember that day and imagine why my visa is still pending, tears will drop from my eyes and I will look up to God.
I contacted more than 150 MPs (senators) in Canada then on Wednesday I gathered mind and drive straight to Anifowoshe.
I was in the movies watching “Hotel Mumbai” as soon as they finished the movie, I saw the alert in my email address.
I will recommend you guys to watch that movie and thank me later.
God is indeed faithful Nara ekele chineke. May June July, don’t lose hope, your visa is sooner. Don’t forget to hit my pm. “God answers prayers”
God bless everyone that is reading this my success story. Whatever you ask from God, don’t give up, he knows your worries. He will answer your prayer.
“When God wants you to grow, he makes you uncomfortable”
Please don’t mind my typo error. I am so eegxited. |

Hi To answer your questions; 1. Most institutions abroad take their deadlines seriously except of course you reach out to them asking for an extension. It's worth a try. I asked for one and got it from my school. 2. Your sponsor's location shouldn't be a problem so long you're able to get the required documents you need from him. 3. To the best of my knowledge, the approved medical centres are in Lagos and Abuja. ezenwa28: Hello House i appreciate your response concerning some issues especially to some novice like me , Please brothers, I got admission in Niagara college they gave me tuition deadline 30th April 2019, can i still pay after the deadline since is fall session 2. Can uncle that based outside Nigeria ( UK ) be my sponsor ? 3. Is there any approved Hospital Medical exams center in Portharcourt Rivers State. Please i need urgent reply thank you |

Exactly I'm of the opinion that if you do it after submission, before it is requested it doesn't do any damage. Once requested just upload your slip. JustMellow: There is absolutely no harm, that's why its often referred to as an upfront medicals whether done prior to or after submission. |

Hi You would have to do your research and find out if the schools you want to attend require those exams; soem schools have specific requirements so that's dependent on your school options. Same goes for you CGPA. It all comes down to you doing your research to find out what school would take you, what are the entry requirements and then you can decide on writing what exams. As regards chances of admission, that depends on the school and how you're able to sell yourself using your statement of purpose. Chances of visa, get your admission and prepare to make a tight application. No one can say chances of visa, we can just wish you favour. Canadian schools and universities are very good, search for a DLI that offers the course you want. iblion: Please guys a i need a reply to this. thanks |

Well done! New applicant School resumes August 1st 2019. sillysassysally: TRV processing time update 29/03/2019
Hey Nairaland Family,
We now have a sample of 22 hopefuls!
Please I would encourage those that have applied this year to share their timeline (whether you're a new or re-applicant, Application Route, School Resumption Date, Application Date, Biometrics Request Date, Biometrics Done Date, Medical Request, Medicals Done, Medicals Passed, PPR or the Current Status of your application). If you don't have all this information, you can just share the ones that you have and update the rest as you receive it.
This information would help us study or attempt to establish a pattern to how CIC operates. (Please note that the calculated estimates are just averages based on the little sample we have. Your processing time may be faster or slower than the average)
For those that have already submitted their timeline, kindly share if you are a new applicant or a re-applicant. Also, please share when you are expected to resume school. This would help us understand if there is a relationship between processing time and resumption date. (Cc Dedecoder, Godatwork23, Oni2019, Damlovey, Yacha77, docsaj, TheAfrikan, 2roodi, Oluwaseunbd, Bodineros, Klem28, AA07, Trishaben, Omarzx, ify85, Samolala2019, umulobi, Mykaelolalekan, Oyalfares)
Finally, If there is anything you think i should add to the data or calculate from the data or present the data so that it is more understandable, please share with me. |
