Christianity EtcRe: Pastor Chijioke Who 'Heals' Women By Sucking Breast Opens Church In Kenya(audio) by abatically(m): 2:29pm On Nov 05, 2015
Unless this man spent his youth in Kenya, then I doubt the authenticity of this audio. The accent is not Nigerian. The person tried to talk with Nigerian accent but u just can't hide it. I may be wrong though, maybe he has spent several years in Kenya or just learned the Kenyan accent.
Car TalkRe: To Change Car Engine From 2.4 To 2.2 Means What? by abatically(m): 2:19am On Nov 05, 2015
Bobbyjay001:
Thanks bro. Could this mean that that the engine was replaced with same engine model like the original engine or with an engine differerent from the original one? Is it compulsory the car will vibrate when its engine is changed? And if nothing like the vibration or any other emgine problem is noticed,is it adviceable I buy it cos I av not maintained a car in my life. This will be my first car and the car in question is Toyota big daddy. Thanks sir.
In simple English, the engine was replaced with Camry pencil light engine. Not a good idea if u ask me, unless done by a professional which would end up costing more money than replacing with its original engine.

Sure the indian man wants to increase sales since it's Xmas period again.

But if it was a nigerian accused he would be alight, why is this case different.
So if a bike drops u, and a minute later the bike man starts screaming and chasing u that u stole his d°ic*kk, does it mean the bike man is right? Would u like it if the mob descend on u for something u know nothing about?

A lot of innocent people have died or suffered from mob jungle justice for crimes they know nothing about.

Does it hurt you so bad when I call Camry pure water

Let it go and make contributions others can learn from.

I have been using that used jeep for 7 years so I encourage people to buy a car they like to use for a long time do you understand me now
Naa, doesn't hurt a bit as I don't even drive a Camry. And mind u I know people that have been driving their camry for 10 years and still going strong. That is everyday driving in Nigeria with bad roads, dust and kazeems as mechanics. Bring any of those ur American cars down to naija and I bet u they won't survive 3 years.
Car TalkRe: Lets Diagnose This Grand Cherokee Issue (fixed) by abatically(m):
Jakumo:
I for one am a proud, unrepentant patron and lifetime customer of auto-part junkyards worldwide, since a well-stocked junkard can be the very best place to find rare parts for older cars, many of which, once upgraded with SPECIFIC, KNOWN fixes, will easily out-perform the majority of those disposable, over-engineered, high maintenance, latest model, look-at-me cars that bedazzle so many.

For raw horsepower and precision handling, which is all I personally give a phuck about, a random choice from my stable of decades old, tired-looking cars will give any 2015-manufactured vehicle of similar capacity a major run for its money, yet these relics cost me but a tiny fraction of a new car's cost. By all means purchase a new car every year, if you can afford to do so, but when next you feel inclined to look down your nose at an older vehicle, just remember this old saying : "It ain't how you look - Its what you got under your hood."

Apologies for the digression, Megida Sultaan.
Lol. All these for me? Looks like u missed the thread where sultaan was condemning Nigerians that operate junkyards and those that patronize them. I never thought he could also patronize a junkyard.
sultaan:
junks, thrash of oyinbo is what we crave when new parts are even cheaper.

All say thanks to Nigerian government policy.

I don't know what kind of part my brother is buying in Chinese market I hope focus on Japanese brands grin

Please people every time you boast of a market don't post pictures other people in the world will only see our yansh and it is ridiculously dirty.

You can't boast of the biggest part market is the biggest African economy then post pictures of craps in gutters like that!

Car TalkRe: Immobilizer Flashing On Dashboard- Honda by abatically(m): 1:45pm On Nov 02, 2015
Op, does ur check engine light come on when the key is on ignition? If check engine light doesn't come on the its probably the ECU. Check the fusebox for the ECU fuse.

This happened to my Honda accord sometimes ago. I almost replaced my immobilizer receiver unit as advised by some technicians. The car would not start and the green key symbol kept flashing on the instrument cluster whenever I insert the key. The check engine light never came up. Luckily I decided to check the fuse and found the ECU fuse was damaged. Replaced fuse and everything came back to normal.

i used AMETEC ATF, I heard its also used for HONDA gear box. So wat say u?
U should only be using Honda dw1 atf. Honda recommended atf z1 but they have replaced it with dw1.

My advice though, if the transmission fluid is already dirty, then draining and refilling might actually cause the transmission to die. So if u have a dirty tranny fluid that also smell like burnt, best is to continue driving it until it finally dies then replace transmission. If the fluid is clean then u can drain and refill with recommended one.
Car TalkRe: Honda Accord EOD And Acura TLS 2003 Model Which One Is The Best by abatically(m): 8:57am On Nov 02, 2015
Op why not save a little more and get the 2004 Acura TL. The 2003 model is the last generation of the luxury version of Honda baby boy. I would choose a 2003-2007 Honda accord eod v6 over a 2003 Acura TL. Though the Acura has more hp because the engine is a little bigger than eod v6. But the eod v6 is more beautiful and not lazy either. My opinion though.

wat oda brand do u suggest i use so i can do dat tday.
That's why I asked earlier what year of Honda accord and what type of atf u used. Using the wrong atf on Honda accord especially from 2000 models upwards is a disaster waiting to happen.

For sometime while driving my honda accord i noticed my D4 is always flashing. I got worried about it so i decided to find out what.
Reason is that it is short on OIL! Just the way your fuel starts to flash when it enters reserve. After i topped the gear oil i drove it round it stopped. So when next your D4 starts flashing check your gear oil.
What year is ur honda accord and what oil did u top it with?

Good grief, is this really that highway or a road to some village? I cannot imagine such a major highway that is a backbone connection between these two big cities in such a delapidated state?
This is not Lagos Ibadan expressway. There is no portion of that road from Lagos to Ibadan that looks like this, this topic is misleading. I travel that road everyday.

However, there was a serious gridlock on that road yesterday, so probably these vehicles took alternate parts to beat the traffic. BUT THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT LAGOS IBADAN EXPRESSWAY.

The dust and thrash I have been yarning might into your eyes soon then you will understand and see why not to buy a car you will replace in a year losing 30% of its initial purchase price. A young man says he make good money to buy car people go say go buy kabukabu because it fit every budget. How is that dust
The lad said he is looking at 2008/2009 Toyota Avalon. Does that look like a kabukabu to u?

Does this look like kabukabu?

But of course not. U prefer he buys a mustang, or a dodge charger or Chrysler 300. These are equally good cars but what happens when they develop problem? They are abandoned at mechanic workshop because of lack of expertise. Who is not being reasonable here?

I know you might think I have started wearing turban and grown some beard but it still me.

From my point of view a young Nigerian man is proudly showing the world his import business and the picture of his source of livelihood is considered thrash in that industry.

There is salvaged parts and rebuilt parts once those parts are exposed to the elements ready for recycling it is what it's called.

There is no there are rebuilt engines for older cars because they can be remanufactured to be even better than the original engine same goes for transmission. Companies also sell rebuild kits for those willing to DIY. Because things are not available in Nigeria does not mean they don't exist.

A car is only worth what the next person is willing to pay for it, if I take a 2007 Camry with 500 miles and a 2015 Camry with 40000 miles on it you will pay more for one of the despite costing same amount new.
Nigerians usually buy cars over 10 years old so we scour through western hunk yards for parts cars 8 years apart rarely share parts
Oga u are still yearning thrash. Even Americans buy 20 yr old cars and they don't buy brand new engine or transmission for them. Who in his rightful mind would but a $3,000 car and fit an $8,000 engine in it unless it's a rare classic.

Salvaged parts not the problem.

The problem is it is the only one we know and most times price of used parts are more expensive than than in the west.

How do you explain that situation it is when we accept our fate like this that we become oblivious to possibilities that previously was a norm.

Even with the exchange rate in the drain some parts are still cheaper new.

This industry will grow if people see better thingd have a vision of transacting with the best not the rejected.

There was a piece of reversal of GEJ's auto policy but it has not been confirmed and it is one of those policies that destroyed the economy basically policies that increase govt revenue is bad.
Bros, why do u like spewing trash here, I just don't get it. U are the same guy advising a 23 yr old buying his first car to buy a camaro or Mustang. How can a new part be cheaper than a used one if both are genuine. Factory replacement cost of gearbox for 2003-2007 Honda Accord costs $6,500. That is 1.2 million naira for a brand new gearbox plus labour. How much do u think that car is worth to spend 1.2m on transmission. Why would I pay that when I can buy a used gearbox for 85k. I've lived abroad and trust me those people also source parts from junkyards when the cost for new parts are unbelievably expensive. I didn't even include shipping and clearing fees.

There are some parts that are better buying brand new. These are wear and tear parts like 02 sensors, air filter, oil filter, brake pads, speed sensors, etc. But there are some parts that doesn't make sense buying brand new expecially for old cars. Can u advise someone to buy a brand new engine and transmission for a 15 year old car? Where will u even source it from? Do u know a brand new hub for some cars can cost as much as $1,000? When u can buy a used one for $60 and will last u up to 7 years.

The sad truth is majority of Nigerian youths have been extremely corrupted to the extent that electing them into top government position is suicide for the country. With the way things are, I dare to say that the youths will do worse if they get elected into government positions. If you doubt me, look at the level of rot in NANS, National Association of Nigerian Students, sample the opinion of "enligtened" youths on Nairaland. You will fear for the future of this country. Forget it. The only solution is revolution, complete and total annihilation of the rotten class of politicians.

For those who think it business to buy engines like my brother in China they should think about it this way. Our generation has been turned to scavengers and we are proudly displaying it for the whole world to see. When my father bought his Volvo in the 70s he ordered it through Leventis now we have been reduced to this as our only option
Oga what r u talking about? Can u spend $5,000 for engine rebuild for a car that is worth $4,000? Or can u spend $10,000 to buy a brand new engine for a car that is worth $8,000? Why do u think insurance sell off cars at auction in developed countries? It's mainly because repair cost is higher than the worth of the car. Our standard of living is not the same as theirs. U think it's a lie? Then why don't u come back home and live in Nigeria.
