There are gazillion reasons that can cause it. Start from the basics. What average mpg are u getting? What Tyre size and pressure? Have u scanned the car for codes? Do u have a check engine light on?

But for car enthusiasts who like speed, functions and aesthetics. And also those who are willing to pay to get optimum value. The big 3 is fine. From my testimony (and probably those who have driven any of the big 3) I don't like japmobiles. The big 3 is for those who pay attention to details.

U created a thread about German Cars having poor second hand value and then u come up with this comment. Haven't u already shot urself on the leg? Thos who are willing to pay? If u are willing to pay then get a new Benz not used. U already know the reason why they have poor second hand value, I mean who wants to pay more for a car u will probably spend a lot fixing.

If u intend buying a 15 year old mercedez Benz or BMW for more than its market worth all in the name of saving the BIG 3, then knock urself out. Very good for the car dealer.

I need help with my car. The engine revs up and down all by itself. The effect is exactly like someone gently pressing down on the gas pedal and then letting up, over and over. This effect is most notable when the car is parked, but also occurs when stopped for red lights, or even during low-speed driving (under 35 mph or so).

The car in question is a Nissan X-Trail 2008 model.

I think Toyota 5w20 is semi synthetic, I'm not sure though. But gazzuzz would know. Semi synthetic or synthetic, it is good enough provided the oil is genuine and manufacturers reccomemded.

U sef see the kind comparison u dey make. How much is s class and avalon brand new? A brand new s class will buy 4 avalons so this is not even a competition. Even at that don't be surprised a 2000 model avalon toks might be more expensive than a 2000 model s class or the Benz might be slightly expensive.

The general thing here is that luxury products lose their values more quickly, but a Benz or BMW lose their value more quickly than a Lexus.

No disputing the 'big 3' as u call them make very good Cars with great handling and performance. But second hand value is not just the fault of our mechanics. These cars also lose their second hand value in adavced countries. Check the price of a used Camry and a used Mercedes Benz c class of the same year online and see if there is a big price difference. Brand new the Benz will buy 2 of the Camry but used they are almost the same worth. Owners sell them off when their warranties are over because of the high majntainance and repair costs.

Who says I don't. Since I cant measure the time use on my gen, I service every 3 months (plug change 6 months). I have used my generator for 5 years now and she runs great. Good maintenance makes equipment last. I am an IT expert so I know the importance of equipment maintenance.
PS: I didnt make the rules. The manufacturers did.

Bros, if u are using conventional 20w50 oil then it is good to change every 3 months. But if u are using synthetic there's absolutely no need unless u do lots of towing.

There are high capacity oil filters than can stand the test. Moreover oil filters can be changed midway between oil change.

Interstate transporters I know change oil every 2 weeks. Most car manufacturer manual says 5,000 km or 3 months. Time or Distance. You seem to be looking only at distance. How about TIME spent in traffic?
Why would you want to keep oil in your engine more than 3 months? Cos of money or no time to change it?
We don't make cars in Nigeria, it will be wise to follow manufactures specs. They know best. They made the car.

The 3 months thingy is outdated bro. Show me a modern car that manufacturers reccomend oil change every 3 months provided u use recommended oil. I use synthetic oil for my engine. I do engine change every 4,500 miles even though Honda says 7,500 is OK. Mind u, 4,500 -5,000 miles equals 7,200km. So if I don't travel that distance in 3 months why should I waste money? Its 4,500 miles or at least 9 months whichever comes first.

Op, either u bought a fake SD card or ur phone can't handle 32gb card. Check ur phone specs and see the maximum amount of SD card or can handle.

Most of the SD cards sold in Nigeria are fake, yes fake. Try buying from a reputable store like slot. They may be more expensive but u are sure u are getting the real thing. Imagine buying 32gb SD card for 1k, how can that be original? Sometimes ago, I bought a 16gb sandisk cruzer blade flash drive for 3,500 at slot. This drive can handle all my 1080p HD movies and I can play them on my TV. Not too long ago I lost the flash and decided to buy another one. I bought the same type from a roadside for 1,500 and guess what. It can't even handle a 720p movie. My TV started rejecting the movies saying unsupported files. I had to cut my loses and get the real one from slot and everything became normal.

I know it ain't that fast compared to what some cars can do. But with that rpm close to the red line, i can imagine the road noise, I won't feel comfortable. That's just me.

What the hell are people saying on this thread? This Camry has the same reliability and ruggedity of the pencil light Camry it replaced. It has quieter cabin and better suspensions which gives better overall driving. The only reason it is called big for nothing is its size and very very bland dashboard.

Mean, the thing tire me. Our hottest temperature is around 38 degrees Celsius in the north, normal engine operating temperature is between 80-90 degrees. They are not even close.

Make sure it is not a RHD converted one. That car is not sold in the USA, so majority of the ones in naija are converted.

Agreed. But u can't deny that newer German and European cars are not built to be rugged like the cars they built some 20-30 years ago when Asian cars were still in their infancy. Those cars have become very fragile since injectors, ecu, SRS, abs, etc became standard in all cars. Advanced electronics and sensors became a problem. More expensive in these German cars and also more prone to failure than in Japanese cars.

Also u can't deny that the success and competition Toyota and Honda brought is the reason Mercedes Benz, etc started to consider fuel efficiency in their cars. Mercedes Benz were GAS GUZZLERS in those days, they didn't care because they expect only the rich to own their cars. The introduction of Lexus (with luxury and performance almost on per with Benz and better fuel economy with high degree of reliability) changed all that. This is why I will always respect Toyota even though I don't drive one.
