I no know book:I've tried so hard but I can't understand ur ranting. Everyone is entitled to his opinion but u can do that like a civilised person without calling names or being abusive. Ok Mikel is the best player Nigeria has ever produced. Are u happy now? If u have something to say then say it and give us reason to accept. |
7lives: This is why Europe have more teams at the world cup so that by hook or crook at least two European teams will play in the semi final and at least one will play the final match and probably win the trophy. Only few men like Diego Armando Maradona can explain the politics of world cup in FIFA, its really a messy affair.Another baseless comment. Who would u rather watch, Gabon or Netherlands? Sudan or Germany? Fifa slots are allocated according to the level of development of football in each continent. The better ur football, the more slots. Do u think fans will buy ticket to come watch Sierra Leone vs India play? Europe and south america have far better football than Asia and Africa and that is why they get more slots, but because u are a Nigerian, u complain. We complain about everything in this country. We don't even have a full functional league in Africa. The only African country that is worth watching at the world cup are Algeria, and maybe Ghana. You can imagine players like ibrahimovic, Gareth bale, Robert lewadowski missing the world cup because their teams fail to qualify. Now can u name one single top class African player that is missing in the world cup? |
fubbyy: Mourinho killed mikel's career, don't ask me howMikel killed his career himself. He should have left Chelsea if he thought the coach was not using him to his potential. That's what great players do. You think Mourinho killed his career? So what happened after Mourinho left? |
xtervaganza: akindidinrin, tell me how Fortune was a success at united.Trust me, Nigerians would always look for someone to blame for their shortcomings. Now they are blaming Chelsea for Mikel's woes? If anyone should be blamed is Mikel himself. Great players take chances and improve themselves. Mikel was a attcking player before Chelsea bought him, they deployed him in a defensive midfield role and he didn't fight, he was content with just being a squad player since they are paying him well. Great players like C Ronaldo take their chances. Ronaldo started as a winger but he improved himself and now he is one of the world's most feared forward players. Gareth Bale started as a left back now he is a forward. Do u think Bale would be where he is today if he didn't take the chance to get forward and show what he could do? Yaya Toure started as a defensive midfielder, he fought his way into becoming a box to box midfielder, scoring many goals for Manchester city. He even forced his way into taking free kicks. But what did Mikel do, he sat on the bench so far Chelsea are paying him, he didn't improve himself. If Chelsea aren't playing him he should just leave to another club where he can express himself. So who's to blame.. its Mikel definitely. |
Itoroetti :You probably only started watching football in the mid 90's or u only watched Nigerian football. Jay Jay is skillful.. a terrific player in his days, but saying every player in the current world cup copied him is absurd. People have been doing skills before Jay Jay was born. But I don't blame u, just another short sighted Nigerian. |
Another stewpid thread. Jay Jay Okocha came to the limelight in 1994.. Are u telling me people don't do these skills pre 1994? Where was Okocha when maradona, Franz Beckenbauer, Zico, Romario etc were playing? |
henrychubayo: I heard it before. I hope it comes true. He plays exactly what chelsea want.Speculations speculations. Chelsea just singed Diego Costa... They haven't sold Demba Ba and Torres.. where do u think Emenike will play? Chelsea play with one striker and that would be Costa.. Even if they sign Emenike he will be restricted to the bench and finally get destroyed just like they did Demba Ba. Chelsea is not the right club for Emenike right now.. he is 27 and doesn't have much time to be sitting on the bench. |
ha ha ha.. I can't stop laughing at all the comments . Back in January u all were convinced that Mikel should be the African player of the year just because he was in the Nigerian team that won the Nations cup. Back then I was among the few that actually said it would be a disgrace for Africa if Mikel won it. Fast forward 6 months later and everybody's eyes are now opened. Mikel is not even in top 10 African players, he was just lucky to be in the Nations cup winning team. He was a promising talent when Chelsea bought him, but rather than improve on his game, he was satisfied at being restricted to a defensive midfielder and sitting on the bench. I can't believe Mikel is Nigeria's biggest player, and we still think we are giants of Africa? LWKMD. Someone even said Nigeria produce more talents than other African countries? Really? Well nothing to be said about a country who's biggest player is Mikel. |
slimthugchimee: Isnt that toomuchToo much u say? That is just $1 million for 2 yeas, which means $500,000 anually. Fabio capello, coach of Russia earns $11 million dollars annually and they didn't even make it to the second round. Roy hodgson, england coach earns $5.8 annually and they still still crashed out in the first round. Prandelli, coach of italy earns $4.3 million annually and they didn't make it to the second round. Vincente del bosque of Spain earns $3.4 million annually they crashed in the first round. Alberto Zaccheroni, coach of Japan earns $2.7 mlion annually and they crashed in the first round. The list goes on, how is keshi earning $500,000 annually too much. Nigerians want magic but to support their team they won't, always looking for someone to blame. If they don't blame keshi, they will blame yobo, if not yobo they will blame Mikel. Can't we just accept we lost to a better team? England has moved on, Spain has moved on. Algeria gave their players a heroic welcome, Obama congratulated USA squad upon crashing in the second round. Algeria, USA, spain all have a better team than us, but we expect magic from the mediocre team we have. Instead of accepting defeat and moving forward we look for someone to blame. Now keshi has resigned, osaze resigned, even enyeama looks like he's also going to resign. This is because we never appreciate our player, we always looking for someone to blame |
thegoodjoehunt: Video Replay technology is used in every sports including lawn tennis and Basketball. They are never boring but add to the excitement. It takes seconds. It took about 2 minutes to take Onazi off the field. That is enough time for a fifth official to radio a message to the referee to send off Matuidi.Fifa adopted goal line technology only when engineers invented a means of knowing when the ball crossed the line wothout taking even 1 second away from the game. Like in the EPL, referees wear a wristwatch that beeps whenever the ball crosses the linen. No way that can slow the game. Controversy is part of what makes football an exciting game. From maradona' hand of God to England's ghost goal in 1966.. All ass excitement to the game. U win some u lose some. |
thegoodjoehunt: Let us stop pretending as if FIFA is not corrupt. They are.Video replay technology? dude that is gonna make the game so boring. You mean like every controversial moment the game should pause whie they look at the replay? Hell no, that is tacking excitement out of the game. Have u watched aby Rugby Union match? They use video replay and I tell u it is so boring u don't want to see it used in football. Fifa has already gone through the pros and cons of using video reply and trust me they know the cons are more that the pros that's why they haven't adopted it. Maybe in the future when better technology comes in that won't slow the game down they can adopt it.. for now football is best served raw without loosing the excitement and controversies. Live with it. Do u really think we would get to the second round if video replay was used? Of course we would have been knocked out by Bosnia. |
thegoodjoehunt: The referee saw Giroud elbow Mikel. He doesn't need to play act. The referee saw it and that is a red card.Mikel should have gone down.. that way even if Giroud didn't get a red he would have seen yellow. Do u think what that monkey keita did to the Greek player in 2010 was hard enough to make him fall? No. But the player went to ground which earned the monkey Keita a red card. Same thing Osaze did, Evra practically hugged him in the penalty box and he stood there, he didn't even protest to the referee. Football is not all about strength, its about tactics and ur ability to get decisions ur way. Our boys should go and learn. |
thegoodjoehunt: Who is talking black white here. If Onazi did to Matuidi the same thing. He would never be on the pitch. He would have gotten a straight red and may be a ban. They are both blacks. So I am not just talking white or black.Guy we have seen worse tackles that didn't result in a red card. We have also seen lesser tackles that resulted in a red. This is football where the referee has the final say depending on what he saw at the moment it happened. In this case, both players went for the ball, Onazi got the ball first, Matuidi missed. Ref gave a yellow card, it could have been red if it was another referee. But referee didn't see it as red.. this is not the first time this is happening. We lost to a tactically better team, get over it already. Sometimes we get the favor, sometimes it goes agaist us. But trust Africans, we have this inferiority complex and the excuse we normally have for our failure is racism, cheating,. match fixing, bla bla bla. |
nonjebose: Atleast we are agreed that the English media play a major role in the scheme of things. They add fire in your own words, even if they don't always have their way. We have berated our team sufficiently. We never shielded them. But we also reserve the right to condemn the career threatning challenge on Onazi, same way the english press would do.It was a bad challenge no doubt. But matuidi went for the ball and got onazi's let instead. That is definitely different from Suarez that intentionally bit a player with the ball far away from him. You seriously don't want to take the word of a drug addict like maradona seriously. I mean this guy was a cheat that scored with his hand to help Argentina win the world cup. So tell me why he wouldn't support a barbaric attitude of Suarez. What if he bit him and in the process tore a blood vessel thereby injecting whatever germ he has on his teeth into the blood stream of the lad, will u be here supporting him? Tackling is part of football, biting is not. |
nonjebose: you are incoherent. My post points to the fact that the English media would not take the incident with a pinch of salt. Let me educate you for I can see you need it. Ronaldo was almost sent packing from england after causing Rooney's expulsion at the world cup. English press had a field day. England lost the hosting right for the 2022 world cup to UAE. English press had a field day disparaging everyone from FIFA to UAE. Nigerians are much better losers than the English. Lest I forget, that Lampard goal you mentioned ignorantly, generated so much furore that embarrased FIFA to the point of accepting the goal line tech in this world cup. Who caUsed all the stir? The answer is clear to every simpletonEnglish media a powerful, that is well known by everyone, but it doesn't mean they have their way all the time. Goal line technology had been coming for a long time now and they would have adopted it eventually ; Frank Lampard's goal or not. It is true Lampard's goal added fire to it. Now for the fact that English Media is powerful is nobody's fault.. every press can as well make theirs powerful. England crashed out of the world cup with only 1 point... I didn't hear that press blame FIFA for their poor performance. They accepted they were shyte. But Nigeria lost and we all blame FIFA, who is the sore looser here? England and Nigeria are identical.. So many passion but no talents. The best England can produce in talent are fast and powerful players that lack talent in technical areas, same thing with Nigeria. You can imagine a player like Mata being on the bench for spain. This is a player that would walk into the starting 11 of England and play no 10. As far as England and Nigeria are concerned, we don't have a number 10, Nigeria hasn't had one since jay jay okocha. But you never hear England fans or press blaming FIFA, they blame their players instead and accept they don't have talent. Even the fans didn't expect much from them in this world cup. |
We shall wait and see. All we see is promising talents but when they mature into super eagles they lose their form due to age. |
Rossikk: Bullshiit. France deliberately injured and removed our midfield powerhouse as part of their game strategy. That's cheating. To compound it their player was not red carded as he should have. That again. is cheating. Then a legitimate goal we scored was disallowed for offside. That's cheating. Then Osaze was deliberately held down by Evra with no call by the ref for a penalty. That's cheating. So we were cheated 6 times more in the France game than Bosnia were in their Nigeria game.U do realize we wouldn't have made it to the second round if dzeko's goal was not ruled out. About evra holding osaze, blame osaze for not protesting. This is where experienced players get the edge. If that was an experienced player he would have raised his hand up and gone to ground so the referee could see him. But osaze didn't even protest, no Nigerian player protested. Referees can't see everyone on the field especially when it is off the ball. France took out our midfield powerhouse, that is strategy, not cheating as u call it. If we had been more tactical this wouldn't have happened. You all should stop whinning already. |
wellmax: No, but you need English.Do barca need suarez? I wonder how else u expect the op to write it. I don't know the op but this is correct English. If u feel he is not correct, u might as well write how u feel it should have been written. About the question, yes they need him for his football, Suarez will excel in Barcelona, that is of course if he can stay out of trouble. |
lloydtruth: good test, hope the team lives up to expectations.Again, over aged players playing as under 17. Of course they will play well and win under 17 world cup (what do u expect when 27 year olds are playing against teenagers). By the time they graduate to the super eagles (that is for those that eventually make it into super eagles), they would have already past their best (35 years old claiming to be 25). This is why we will never do well at senior level in the BIG stage. |
Redoil: Exams that was written for her by her teachers and principals who were her lover then.It is so wrong for u to say such thing when u don't know. |
shumuel: even without a Goal in their last match he still got it, i would have voted for Di maria, hope this not FIFA fixing or what do u thing? Anyway lets wait and see if he makes its Number 5 against Colombia.Everything na FIFA fixing to Nigerians. Did u actually watch the game? Getting a man of the match doesn't necessarily mean u must score a goal. Messi was virtually at the end of ever move Argentina made in that game. |
Sheggy13: Your analogy is funny.. so you're equating Biting to murder and career threatening tackle to stealing.. Despite the bite,Chiellini was able to finish that match and doing fine wherever he is now , even feeling pity for Suarez cos of d harsh punishment afterwards but can u say the same for Onazi.. He'll never wish Matuidi well cos that tackle may as well end his career and the pains will still be there..What just compounded Suarez 's case was that it had become habitual but when u compare the harm done to the victims' careers ,you'd know his is just a child's play.. look at it from that angle, cheersU are the one getting the analogy wrong. Matuidi's tackle was bad, but really it was a missed tackle. Go watch the replay again. If Onazi didn't get the ball first matuidi would have gotten the ball. For suarez, it was intentional. The ball wasn't even close he just sunk his teeth on chiellini's skin. Yes Onazi was more hurt, but he got hurt from an outcome of football, that happens all the time. Chiellini got bit from cannibalism, not football. |
vislabraye: I just want to comment on the rasicm issue you just mentioned. Yes, Balottelli and Ashley Cole have been victims of racisms. Several black Europeans have been called derogatory names. We Africans love looking for little mistakes to get at authorities for racism. Maybe because we are back and every little thing that goes against us we capitalize on. Gareth bale is British. Many times Banana peels have been thrown at him during matches. If he was black African we all we be asking fifa for fair justice. |
Orikinla: Blaise Matuidi was told to take out Ogenyi Onazi, because that was the only way to stop Nigeria from beating France. At least matuidi did it in a clean way. They both went for the ball and matuidi completely missed the ball and got Onazi. Ask an African player to take out opposing player and watch him behave like an eediot. A good example is Alex song vs Croatia... How do u explain that? |
nonjebose: This is especially true for the english press. If it was an english player, they would nearly call for a replay of the match. At best, they would call Matuidi names till the end of his career. Matuidi has apologised, fair enough.Stop spewing Rubbish. What about frank lampard's goal against Germany in 2010 that wasn't counted. If that was an African team u would say it would have counted if it was English. I'm football u win some, u lose some. Live with it. |
ophilly: Wrong, a deliberate rough tackle may end the opponents career, it may even kill him. A bite may not cause any serious damage. Punishment for biting should be milder, FIFA is aware of this, Suarez's case is bad because he is an unrepentant reprobate offender having committed the same offence 3times.How can u tell when a tackle is deliberate?. You can see he went for the ball and caught the leg. Fine he completely missed the ball, but FIFA don't take these things too seriously because it can be easily argued as a missed or late challenge.. part of football. At most u get a red card and 3 match ban. You can clearly see he went for the ball, amidst late. But let's be honest here, if Onazi didn't kick the ball faster, Matuidi would have got the ball https://gifsection.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Blaise-Matuidi-Tackle-On-Ogenyi-Onazi-a.gif Suarez bite on the other hand was completely intentional, the ball wasn't even there. |
Guykhena: How many times am I gonna say this here,,"it wasn't intentional" (he was clearly going for the ball).Spot on. It was a bad tackel amidst a misplaced tackle. Luis Suarez's bite was INTENTIONAL. 2 different things. Hard tackling is part of football, BITING is not. |
omar22: Value is not marketable dont mistake that concept, You wont buy David Beckham for £1 but he is still more marketable than Messi, Ronaldo and Ibrahimovic all together. You are very funny. You can as well tell me Ruud Van Nisteroy is more marketable than Suarez. |
shymexx: Dzeko's disallowed goal against Nigeria. No mind all of them. When decision goes our way, we shut up, but when it goes against us, it becomes fifa conspiracy. What about dos Santo's 2 goals wrongly disallowed against Cameroun. Also fifa conspiracy? https://s3.amazonaws.com/br-cdn/temp_images/2014/06/13/8512b5d7573de12f26b89e6b85a26b89.gif?1402676864 https://s3.amazonaws.com/br-cdn/temp_images/2014/06/13/e9022d2533cb6a4e90aeb81d0c917af2.gif?1402677543 These are legitimate goals. Plus Dzeko's goal against Nigeria. But because its in our favor we won't talk. Now when one decision is against us we start making noise. This is football, u win some u lose some. SOmetimes we get decision against us, sometimes it goes in our favor, Deal with it. France was the better team, they are more tactical than us. Our players were just playing with physicality, no techniques. France wore us out and capitalized on our tiredness. |
omar22: Are you serious?Pogba is more marketable than toure right now due to their age. Pogba can easily be sold for 50 million, u can't get more than 25-30 million for toure. If u know about football u should already know toure is already 31. Also benzema is more marketable than ayew. |
