In reality, the stamp is worse than Suarez's bite, but Maradona should also know that tackling is part of football while biting is not allowed in football. Yes it was a bad tackle, but it can also be seen as a mistimed tackle. It happens every day in football. Which other way can u see biting other than cannibalism. |
Flairritzy: ...just a suggestion but I dont really think that it's trueSuarez is a clever cheating scum that knows how to get what he wants by any means necessary. He forced his way to Liverpool by biting otman bakkal in Ajax. But since Liverpool stood by him during evra's saga and Ivanovic incident, he had to look for another way to make Liverpool sell him. Why is Barcelona sporting director flirting with him a day after he apologized, and today Barcelona has opened negotiations about signing him. |
Bros, that check engine light no be decoration o. It means there's a malfunction. Get it fixed so u can get a good price. Nice car though. |
This might sound absurd, but if u broaden ur thoughts, u might find some element of truth in it. Suarez deliberately bit Chiellini to force his move to Barcelona. Yes funny I know, but I will explain. Suarez was banned for 8 matches in December 2011 for racially abusing Manchester United's Patrice Evra. During this time, Liverpool stood by him and supported him. They even had all players wear Luis Suarez no 7 shirt to show their love for him, hence it was difficult for Suarez to come out and say he wanted to leave. In April 2013, Suarez was banned for 10 matches for his bite on Chelsea's Ivanovic. Still Liverpool supported him, even if Suarez wanted to leave, he would look like a traitor in the eyes of those who supported him. Arsenal tried to sign him but he couldn't come out to hand in a transfer request. prior to the world cup, Barcelona had interest and Suarez knew the only way to force his move away is to be in the middle of yet another controversy, this time not with Liverpool but with his national side. So, he looked for the perfect opportunity and bit Chiellini. He was given a 4 month ban (maybe he wasn't expecting the ban to be that much). He knew this will force Liverpool to clean their hands off him and let him go. He even made it worse by not feeling remorse and lying that he slipped and fell unto Chiellini.. all these were to complicate the issue even though cameras showed he clearly bit Chiellini. Then on Monday June 30, he came out and admitted the bite and then apologised.. (he was probably instructed by Barcelona to apologise and look like he felt remorse for his actions). Today Tuesday July first, Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has come out to sing praises on Suarez. I quote him: I think we know about the circumstances that happened in the World Cup and he's had the character and humility to first recognise that he made a mistake,” said Zubizarreta. "I think that's very important. He had the honour to come out and apologise to the people who had been hurt by his actions; the opposition and also football in general in the middle of a world football festival. "Now it's time for him to begin his recovery process. I think Luis Suarez did the best thing as a person and I also think as a footballer. What path he now takes, whether he stays at Liverpool or goes somewhere else, we will see.” This clearly shows he intentionally did what he did to force his way. Right now Liverpool will have no choice than to sell him without him handing in a transfer request. Even if he hands in a transfer request now, Liverpool won't find it too hard to let go a troublesome player. he can claim the pressure of the English press is too much and they surely don't wanna keep an unhappy player. Well done Suarez.. u did it. If I were Liverpool, I won't sell him for cheap, they should squeeze every last shilling out of him. Suarez is a terrific player, one of the best in the world right now, but he is also the most controversial and really need to see a psychologist. |
Drfash: 2. In my second view of fifa sharing the world cup slots i av an opinion dat the slots sud be share equally among the continents nt dat the europeans av cant 30% of the slots thereby giving dem so much advantage of an european country winning the world cup. What about Asia that have 4 representatives. You seriously don't wanna be seeing India or Afghanistan in the world cup. The slots are shared according to the development of football in each continent. You can imagine top players like Ibrahimovich, Gareth Bale, Lewadowski not playing in the world cup. Which African player do we really miss in the world cup? This is to tell u our football is still very poor compared to Europe and South America. |
xamster: Inspite of funds, opportunities and countless flops leading to a disqualification in advancing in the next round. It all baffles me how the african teams never tap-out in their vicious circle of fails in this cup......wat do u think about this jinx anywaysIts no jinx. African football is still inferior compared to Europe and south America, even north America. Unless they should start a world cup with only africans and asians, then we might have a chance. |
Flairritzy: I totally agree with u but Golden Eaglets & Flying Eagles should cont to receive our support. They're d pride of our nation at d momentThe golden eaglets and flying eaglets are full of over aged players. That is why we excel in youth tournaments but when it comes to the big stage we falter. How many generation of golden and flying eaglets have we had. How many of them ever got promoted to the super eagles, and when they finally do what happens? The reason is simple.. when they were playing under 17 they were actually 27. So by the time they get to the super eagles they are already 35 claiming to be 25, by then they have already past their best. |
toluene12: oga seun, lets stop deceiving ourselves. You just spoke my mind. Nigerians like deceiving themselves thinking we have talents when in reality we don't. A team where Mikel Obi is their biggest player says a lot. We have passion but no talents. We are still living on past glory of class of 1994. The last time we won the nations cup was in 1994. 19 years later the captain of that class of 1994 won us our 3rd nations cup and we still think we are the giants of Africa. Not saying FG shouldn't invest in football, but they should make it minimal investment. Believe me people who still want to play for the county would come out and play not minding if they don't get paid much. And from there they can develop real talents and discover people who really want to play. Even if we don't win trophies, it would be a long term investment not instant success like we all want. |
Seun: Which African countries have better raw talents than Nigeria when it comes to football? This is where we all make mistakes. We think we are the Giant of Africa while we are not. Nigeria produce more talents? Don't make me laugh. Back in January people were rooting for Mikel to be the African footballer of the year. That means mikel is the best we can boast of. Seriously mikel? Can u name one world class player in Nigeria? There is absolutely none, they are all average to mediocre players. We are no longer in the 90's. After kanu nwankwo Nigeria has never produced a world class player. Yaya toure, aubameyang, asamoah gyang, ayew, gervinho and even Drogba (though he's past his best) are all better than what we have in Nigeria. The only good player we have is enyeama and he's not world class yet. There is only 1 Nigerian player that plays in the big league and that is mikel. Mikel? He is not even a regular. Our Victor Moses couldn't even hack it at Liverpool. So tell me how we are the biggest producer of talents in Africa? |
9icetoo: Well, you have to use your horns in Nigeria. I have nearly been side swapped three times in one journey from Lagos to Enugu by careless drivers who didn't bother to look before changing lanes while i was overtaking. My horns saved me. Now i keep beeping them whenever i am overtaking. Abatically, blocking someone from overtaking you is a very bad move. Some people (me included when i am infuriated and driving my dads jalopy volvo 740 without ac and power steering) will ram you off the road. trust me i have seen it happen. Nigerians have the highest disregard for road traffic rules. Taxi drivers stop in the middle of the road to pick or drop passengers; bus drivers brake so hard you nearly run into them and they haven't got functioning brake lights; keke drivers swerve into ur lane when they realize they can't squeeze their tricycle between ur car and the trailer on the opposite traffic. Thank God okada has been banned. Jeez. Without a horn, you would probably boil with rage in your car if you drive in a major city in Nigeria.I'm not saying u shouldn't use ur horn. For example if ur trying to overtake someone and u notice that person is swerving towards u , u can blaze ur horn gently so the person can correct himself, that is what horns are for. Not just honkig whenever u see a vehicle in front of u. Jeez some people even use horn for no reason, I mean stuck in a non moving traffic and ur still blazing ur horn. For what, when its obvious the person in front of u can't go, the person in front of the person in front of u is also stuck, so why the horn? Are u also in support of using horn in hospitals, campuses and estates? |
BluStreak: My guy, you don't live in Lagos Nigeria, and you don't ply our highways. When you do, come back and reaffirm this your position.I have been in lagos for 2 years now and i can count the number of times I have used my horn. You think u can drive rough, trust me I can do it better than u without using my horn unnecessarily. From Agege motor road to oshodi in the morning, or ojuelegbe-surulere or the busy 3rd mainland bridge to Agidingbi during rough hours. I ply them all and still don't use my horn unnecessarily. Oh did I forget I also drive from Lagos to Asaba without using my horn even once. You might think its impossible but when u start learning how to use ur horn less, u will realize it is absolutely unnecessary how people use horn in this country. |
I'm in support of the OP here. We invest too much in football thereby shying away from other necessary things. We don't have the best talent when it comes to football. I know everyone loves football but they should rather invest in athletics where we have talents. Athletes don't earn a quater of what footballers earn. That way FG can have money to invest in other things. |
Drfash: The suarez case: am nt a fan of liverpool or luis suarez. I admitted dat wat luis did was bad but such ban was too excessive for a player who admitted his wrong doing.Your point is baseless. Suarez never admitted he was wrong. He only admitted and apologized yesterday after the judgement was already given. He claimed he lost his balance and he cheek (not teeth) touched chiellini and he fell and felt pain on his teeth. He NEVER ADMITTED HE BIT CHIELLINI. It was very obvious he bit him.. also don't forget its not his first, not his second but the 3rd time. Let me ask u, if u are sentenced to 2 years in jail for robbing a bank, then u come out and still rob another bank and sentenced to 4 years. Do u think u will get 4 years if u rob a bank the 3rd time? Hell no, u will definitely serve a longer term if u keep committing the same offence. Fifa is fair enough on Suarez, if u ask me I will say the ban should be longer because this is someone who doesn't want to learn, biting has no place in football. Drfash: lets look at it 4rm anoda point of view if suarez was european am sure such ban wudnt av so lengthy. Look at wat zidane did during that world cup final though he was sent off buh the sanctions for such offence if zidane was nt european wud av bn more dan wat suarez recievedZidane was banned for 3 games and fined over $3,000. Suarez was banned for 7 games for his first bite, he was banned for 10 games for his second bite and then for 4 months for his 3rd bite. This has nothing to do with race. Do u want me to list European players that have received longer bans for u? 1. Eric Cantona: banned for 8 months for his kung fu kick on a Crystal Palace fan. He also did community service. He is French, not African. 2. Pepe: Served a 10 game ban in 2009 for his assault on Javier Casquero in 2009. He is Portuguese, not African. 3. Andrea Mutu: Banned for 7 months for failing drug test. He is Romanian, not African. 4. Joey Barton: banned for 12 games while he was in Manchester City for fighting with a fellow player. He is English, not African 5. Rio Ferdinand: banned for 8 months and fined 50,000 pounds for failing a drug test. He is English, not African 6. Paolo Di Canio: Banned for 11 matches in 1998 while playing for sheffield wednesday for pushing referee. He is Italian, not African 7. Roy Keane: Banned for 5 games while at manchester United. He is Irish, not African. 8. Vinnie Jones: Given 6 months ban and suspended for 3 years in 1992 for celebrating football violence on video. He is british, not African. Do u need me to continue? We have this inferiority complex in Africa and when decision go against us, we blame authorities and call it cheating or racism, whereas we don't say anything when decision goes our way. E.g Dzeko's legitimate goal that was ruled off for offside against Nigeria. Drfash: Another look at our dear arsenal oliver giroud elbow going into mikel's mouth, i wudnt forget he did same for an ecuador defender buh fifa wud claim dey didnt see the replay of the action if suarez did dis or any non european player am sure his ban wud av equalled dat of suarez, even an harsh tackle by bliase matuidi on onazi wud av bn the topic of the day if the tackle was made by a non european playerSeriously u should stop whinning already. Mistakes do happen in football, sometimes it goes ur way, sometimes it doesn't. it has been so and has nothing to do with being European or African. Just take a look at this, do u also blame FIFA for sending off Song for a stewpid and senseless challenge? https://static1.businessinsider.com/image/53a217966bb3f780096c6f18/alex-song-red-card.gif You think FIFA has been fair to Europeans? how about Brazil's fake penalty against Croatia? Or is Brazil an European country? You think FiFA has been unfair to Africans? What about 2 legitimate goals scored by Dos Santos against Cameroon that was wrongly ruled off for offside? What about Dzeko's goal against Nigeria? Abi u no see those ones because its in favor of Africa. Alex song got a red card and normal suspension for his stewpid elbow, if that was an european player u would be asking for a longer ban abi? Drfash: In my second view of fifa sharing the world cup slots i av an opinion dat the slots sud be share equally among the continentsYou know this is not yet possible, u are just whinning without knowing the criteria. African don't have a good functional league yet, u seriously do not want to see 10 african teams playing at the world cup. Gosh African football is so boring, its still developing. Initially it was 1 team, then they increased it to 3 teams and now 5 teams. As African football continue to develop, so will they get more slots but for now, 5 is ok. European countries on the other hand have developed their football and leagues, it is only normal to have more European and South American teams. truth be told they play better football anyway. No matter how much u think or try to believe.. we are not better than them. I will give u a simple illustration. If Federal government wants to allocate security patrol vehicles in Lagos and Ogun State. The allocation for Lagos state would be higher than that for Ogun state irrespective of the fact that both are independent states on their own. |
Because of the following reasons. 1. Africa lacks talent when it comes to football. And don't tell me we excel when it comes to youth tournaments. Why won't we when we have 27 year old men playing as under 17. We love football in Africa but our main talent when it comes to sports is athletics, even at that we are still no match for USA and Jamaica when it comes to sprinting. This is why Africans only excel in marathon at the olympics. The problem now is athletes don't don't make much money as footballers, so everyone wants to play football even though the talent is not there. Don't tell me we won olympics gold medal in football, we all know the players are over aged playing as under 23. I look at all Africa teams playing at the world cup, it is very difficult to pick 2 technically gifted players. We always rely on strength, speed and long range shots. Very hard to see technically gifted players like Messi, Ozil, Mata, Di Maria, Neymar, Iniesta, Robben, Hazard, James Rodriguez, etc in Africa. I can only count a few African players that are world class. Pick out Yaya Toure, Adebayor, maybe Gyan, Aubameyang. Then Drogba and Etoo (who are past their best). No single world class player in Nigeria. Just like the words of Jay Jay Okocha, what a white man can do at the age of 7, it will take a black man 30 years to be able to do it. No downgrading blacks but it is a FACT. 2. We lack a functional league and youth development program. I know they are trying in South Africa but they still have a long way to go compared to other leagues. 3. Africans play for the money. It is no news a promising young African talent would rather play in Qatar where he will earn millions than play in England or Spain than play in a lower division where he will earn less but develop his talent. 4. Impatience. Everybody is a boss in Africa, we are always looking for someone to blame rather than learn and improve from our mistakes. Nigeria lost to a superior France and everyone is pointing fingers at Keshi and Yobo. Yobo actually had a good game against France, but because people hate him, they are always looking for his mistake and always going to capitalize on it. He is not the first player to score an own goal, jeez marcelo scored an own goal against Brazil. This is also the case with Musa. People hate him so much they look for his mistakes even though he plays well, he will always get the stick when he makes one mistake. Now the lad scored 2 amazing goals against Argentina then people were forced to shut their traps. 5. Corruption. NFF and other football organisations in Africa are corrupt, they never give coaches (especially indigenous coaches) a chance to choose and have authority over his team. They have slots for their favorite players to make the team. If a coach refuses to play by their rule they kick him out. NFF is no different from our corrupt politicians. |
dgitrader: defensive driving without honking in nigeria is completely impossible. our roads are narrow, unmarked, and sometimes caotic. You think our roads are narrow? Have u seen UK roads? |
mencade5: mr man you are quoting me wrong. My topic actually stated 'france will win nigeria'' which is a future present tense. I did not say france has win nigeria. Nah, its not correct and it is was not from me.Ha ha, and I said France will not win Nigeria. At the end did they win Nigeria? No. They only defeated Nigeria. |
mencade5: my dictionary said, win means to have victory over something or an opponent. I.e france had victory over nigeria. Is the same as france won nigeria. Present continuous says france will win nigeria. So wetin u want tell me?Very wrong. France won against Nigeria or France won the match against Nigeria. The match is what they are winning here, not the country. Just like ur dictionary said, to have victory over Nigeria is completely different from winning Nigeria. If u say they win Nigeria it means they aquire or secure Nigeria. Just like betting, if u stake money in a betting and u won, it means u won the money from the bet, u didn't win the person u had the bet with. |
I can bet u if frank rijkaard is employed then very soon u all will start calling for his head. U know why? 1. Nigerians want magic, they want to win the world cup with average players. IMPOSSIBLE. 2. Nigerians are impatient. 3. Any foreign coach will probably earn about 6 times what Keshi is earning as Nigeria coach. Keshi's annual wage is about $392,000. A foreign coach will likely earn about $2 million and above. This wage will be used against him of he fails to perform. I will be back here when that happens to laff at u all. |
mencade5: hahaha...na wa for you ooo.Ha ha ha, na. True nau. France won the match, they defeated Nigeria. They didn't win Nigeria. When u win something that means that thing is urs, like u can win money, u can win a trophy, u can win a fight, etc. |
mencade5: who won?France won the match, they didn't win Nigeria. |
9jagist: good observation, i like your contribution, but judging by what mikel played i will want to know your comment on mikel performance todayMikel was just..... He was just mikel. The problem is we don't have any player to replace him. Ruben? Uchebo? Don't make me laugh. Nigeria should start looking for a replacement for Mikel, if only Keshi didn't drop Sunday mba. It's true that mikel is the only holding midfielder we have, nobody comes close to him in holding the ball for others to open up before passing. But he has become so slow in decision making and can't run. He knows he doesn't have a replacement, so he's become lackadaisical. From the first half I noticed France tactic was to get Onazi out of the game. They almost succeeded in the first half, in the second half they continued hitting him until he was injured and removed. They knew mikel was a walk over. |
They lost to a tactically better team. Man to man, player to player we can't match them. Pogba, matuidi, cabaye and Van bueina in the midfield, can Onazi, mikel and Osaze match them? In attack can emenike or Musa match benzema? Or can Yobo and omeruo match varane and kocienly? The only thing we have is a good goalkeeper. France weakest link in giroud who is still better than what we have. Oh I forgot to mention they have a better bench, with players like griezman on the bench while we have Ruben, uchebo etc on the bench. Bottom line, the better team won, no need to blame anyone. You call France a common team? Let's check, how many world class players are in France? Benzema, evra, Hugo Lloris, matuidi, koscienly, griezman. And they have one of the world's best young talents in Paul pogba. What do we have in Nigeria..... No single world class player. I know u will say enyeama, but he's not yet a world class player. He is getting there but not quite there. A. Terrific shot stopper though. |
Kennyslimsteve: Whats your say about most refree's error in dese world cup nd y is africa d main casualty of dese mistakesHow is Africa the main casualty? Dzeko scored a legitimate goal against Nigeria, or do u want to talk about dos Santo's 2 goals against Cameroun that was chopped off. |
You guys can say whatever u want, Yobo had a good game today apart from the own goal which could have happened to anyone. Marcelo scored an own goal for Brazil. The thing is once a player is hated, people will start looking for his mistakes. This is also the case with Musa, nigerians hate him so much they look for his mistakes rather than his good deeds. The only reason people shut up over Musa is his 2 goals against Argentina. |
mencade5: what do u have to say now?France didn't win Nigeria. So what's ur point? |
You guys can say whatever u want, Yobo had a good game today apart from the own goal which could have happened to anyone. Marcelo scored an own goal for Brazil. From the first half, I knew France tactic was to get Onazi out of the game. They almost succeeded in the first half but the lad shook off his injury. In the second half they continued hitting him until he finally got injured, then they were able to penetrate. They knew mikel is a walk over. Onazi has always been the heart of our midfield. I wish Keshi didn't drop Sunday mba |
U people won't stop creating stewpid threads. Earlier this year it was that snail Mikel for African player of the year. Now Osaze for world cup best player. U must definitely have ur brains under ur shoes. |
Paul pogba |
Geekaydon: those sounds we usually hear during the super eagles matches...i never hear am in brazil o...did their drums burst..or glo no pay....Did u just wake up from a very deep sleep? You didn't hear they banned musical instrument from all stadia in Brazil. |
Nice ride, price is too hight though, forget all the gizmos. Moreover what's with the check engine light? |
mencade5: no...which means eagles cannot win them.Looks like u fail to understand me. Eagles cannot win france, neither can France win Eagles. |
