carxus was designed to be a genuine website, but it has been flooded by scammers looking for someone to rip off. The moderators are not doing anything about it even though its very obvious most adverts posted are fake. How can a 2010 toyota camry go for 300,000 naira? It looks like all scammers that were flushed from nairaland had to rush to carxus because they have no moderators.. it is an open website where u can register and start popsting. If u are buying a car from there, u need to be careful.. shine ur eyes as more than half of the adverts are fake. |

baby-boy:95% of the people can't be wrong. yaya deserve it |
collins Jn: How Do This Judge The Winner ? Fpor Heaven's Sake,Mikel Won African Cup Of Nations,Champions League,Europa League,The Whole Of last Year,Yaya Toure Didn't Win Anything. It is called player of the year, not best winning team of the year or trophy winning player of the year. Player of the year denotes a player that actually did extraordinarily well in a calender year, with or without trophy. Winning a trophy boost ur chances, but doesn't guarantee winning. Yes Mikel won nations cup and Europa League.. but be truthful to urself.. was Mikel really extraordinary in the Nations cup? Yaya wasn't but neither was Mikel. Mikel had a better tournament no doubt.. but that was in January.. what about the remaining 11 months? Is Mikel a guaranteed starter for Chelsea? Yaya is already becoming a cult hero in City. Do people go to stadium to watch Mikel play? Yaya have fans allover the world and it would be a shame to Africa if he didn't win it. Also.. goals win u games. Fans want to see goals created and scored.. that is what this sport is all about. |
jotey: Apart 4rm goals way eto dae score..okocha pas am 4 d restGoals win u matches |
ecolime: I'm really heart-broken. See as CAF humiliate our own person inside our country. So they should give it to an undeserving player because it was in his country? forget sentiments, compare Mikel's 2013 highlights with yaya's 2013 highlights, then tell me who is the deserved winner. |
PurpleHouse: Looking at the events that unfold during the debate for the AFOTY, i begin to wonder why We, Nigerians let one of us down. I realized why we've been backward for so long as a Nation: We Hate Ourselves!Guy forget patriotism.. let's call a spade a spade. You can't say because someone is ur countryman then u run away from the truth.. This is the same thing that is killing this country.. corruption. Everyone knows yaya is a better player. If u conduct the vote in Nigeria among 100 people, 85 would probably choose mikel while 15 would choose Yaya. For the fact that Nigeria has 15% vote for Yaya is enough to know he is the deserved winner. if u go to Ivory coast all 100 will choose Yaya.. go to the rest of Africa and Yaya will get about 80% vote against Mikel. For the rest of the world, outside Africa 100 will vote Yaya. People don't come to stadium to watch a boring player like Mikel..but they will pay top dollars to watch Yaya |
iamspeedracer: there's nothing called a V4 engine . its called and i4 . not v4 . the v6 v8 v10 etc is gotten from the shape of the enginethere are v4 engines, though not common. They have been used in ford Taunus, ford Essex and in some Saab engines. V4 are also widely used in motorcycles. |
Exponental: corolla-camry-avensis-avalon.i don't think the avensis is superior to the Camry in any way. Except of course u think because there are less avensis on Nigeria roads than Camry then avensis is superior? |
lonelydora: If u have a good maintenance culture, go ahead and buy it. I have been driving 2003 V6 accord close to 3years now and no issues. Just routine maintenance. Performance is superb, and the good thing for u is dat 2008 accord engine is not VTEC but VCM(don't have time to explain.) technology.who told u its not i-vtec. The engine is i-vtec with vcm (variable cylinder management). |
tonychristopher: Can you save money, when you are approaching a traffic light that has justAnd Automatic can't do this? Maybe u also don't know automatics do have engine braking |
tonychristopher: Seriously. I can't believe so many people can't use use a manualIts true that everyone should know how to drive both.. I think everyone that made a comment on this thread can drive both manual and auto. But just because someone is driving an auto doesn't mean he is not a real man, its a matter of choice and what suits u. Some automatics have sports mode which gives the car the desired pick up close to what manuals can offer. Also Automatics have kickdown, so I don't understand this ur logic of trying to overtake and shifting to the 3rd gear to get burst of power. In automatic, just press the throttle harder and the computer signals the transmission to kickdown, then feel the burst of power. Newer automatics as as quick as manuals, if not quicker . The only scenario I think manuals have more advantage is on race tracks.. but then how many people drive on race tracks? |
It not very fuel efficient but what u lose in fuel economy u gain in performance. The automatic averages about 18mpg city while the manual and quattro averages about 16mpg city (for the v6). You will enjoy it more if u are doing lots of highway driving (about 23mpg). All these are for premium gasoline. Here in Nigeria u might end up getting lower mpg. Now if u are looking for a car that will give u the fuel economy of a Toyota corolla, then run away because it won't give u anything close to that. In every other aspect it is a very solid car. Siena over to u |
lomomike: Open a fresh thread and stop derailing this thread.lomomike, did u drink? I can understand though its Monday and u must have worked too hard today lol. . Easy bro |
big-t:Guy i triple taya for u. Traffic light for what kpanu? I don't see any crossroads or junction . Moreover that looks like a 3 lane highway. Even if its not a highway, the pedestrian bridge is the safest way to cross to the other side. If that bridge is not there and a vehicle knocks someone down, u will be the first to say why didn't goodluck build a pedestrian bridge. |
big-t:. zebra crossing for highway? I taya oo |
Its better u replace with the same engine even if it costs 200k. Trust me there are other hidden expenses that will be associated with engine swap that the mechanic wont tell u. If u buy a Siena engine for say 90k, at the end of the whole swap u might end up spending like 150k and u still might not get the result u want. Plus u might lose other functionality that makes ur car a murano like 4wd, etc. What about the gearbox, does it fit? Ur murano is probably cvt transmission. This is not a landrover Freelander that everyone knows has a bad angine. My advice, save money and buy the exact engine that came with the car, it would save u lots of stress. |
big-t:Ha ha.. very funny. How many HP does this car produce? No disrespecting but overtaking a car that is cruising doesn't mean ur car is faster. I get this a lot.. sometimes when I'm cruising at 120km/hr, a car overtakes me and the driver looks at me like he just won a trophy for overtaking me, I just laugh like "I don't have ur time" |
Siena: The way I see it, that inscription looks like it wasn't on the van when it was photographed. Meaning it was superimposed on the image. You are right siena.. This bus did not leave the factory like this. Its Innoson Vehicle ManufactuRING Co. Limited, and not Innoson Vehicle ManufactuRERS Co. Limited. This is either photo-shopped or the end user put it there. |
omg u got to be kidding me. How could a so called vehicle manufacturing company make such mistake? The same silly mistakes we see in Nigerian movies end credits. Gosh if they can't employ competent people that knows how to write correct words in English then how are they going to pass quality control which is a more complicated and careful procedure. Building a car is not just assembling engines and tyres, there are lots of things involved. BIG FAIL INNOSON. REALLY BIG FAIL. Well, maybe not a big fail if Innoson doesn't actually have anything to do with that inscription on the bus, maybe its the owner that put it there. But if it was like that out of the factory, then BIG FAIL. |
ba7man: Race cars are now fitted with tiptronic gears and paddle shifters.Triptronic is not the same thing as manual. Triptronics are automatic gears that can be operated as manual. Yes race cars are now using triptronic just to please the enthusiasts that love manual because they don't want to phase out manual cars just suddenly, so they give them an automatic car that can be driven as manual (not real manual though because it doesn't shift as fast as a manual car would). In triptronic mode, when u are on a high gear and lose speed, say u are climbing up the hill, when the rpm drops too low and u fail to downshift using the paddles, the computer will downshift itself. So its not manual. |
chucky234: Manual gear for real men? Certainly the joke of the century, except you all want me to believe 85% of the world drivers are incompetent since more than 85% of cars produce around the world are fitted with auto gear system.Thank u so very much. I said it in my earlier post, only 4% of cars in the US are fitted with manual these days. I started with a manual but have moved on. Whoever says automatics are not fast enough is probably still stuck the the automatics of the 80's and 90's. Manuals are phasing out and in a few years time they will be a thing of the past. You like to be in control huh? Why not buy cars with manual everything, manual doors. , manual windows, manual trafficators, manual mirrors, no traction control or cruise control, no bluetooth or reverse camera, etc. then we know u are a petrol head. Only race cars will be fitted with manual in a few years, even race cars come with autos these days. |
I give up on this top ten cars or most expensive cars. Different websites will give u different lists. Some will say its lamborghini veneno, some will say maybach exelero, some will say bughatti veyron. By the way op are u writing in Spanish? Because I can't understand anything u wrote in ur first paragraph. |
Lagusta: or Who is better between Jason statham and uche jombo!!!For the record the Audi A8 used by Jason Statham in Transporter 2 was an automatic. Face it, manual cars are phasing out and its only a matter of time before they stop making them. They might still used them in race cars (even some race cars come with auto now) but will phase out in passenger cars. |
edoyad: OK, let me settle this. If you think Schumacher(praying for his recovery), Hamilton, Vettel and Button are better drivers than Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and Miley Cyrus say "I". If you disagree say "nay".Keep deceiving urself by comparing people that drive as a career to people that drive to move from one place to another. Ask urself are u a race car driver? How many drivers on our roads and abroad are race car drivers? Even race car drivers don't drive like they drive race cars on normal roads. U want to race? then take it to the tracks. I'm sure if the Porsche Cerrera that killed Paul Walker (a professional driver) was an automatic u would be here saying automatic cars have too many problems. In the movie fast and furious 6, the 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona driven by Vin Diesel was fitted with 3 speed automatic. The BMW M5 was 7 speed automatic. Even the Jensen Interceptor, Ford Escort and the Ramp car all had auto transmission and were driven by professional drivers. |
Only u dey post and only u dey comment on ur thread. |
itsmayiela: why do people wash their car engines? Effizy i guess. U buy a car, u open the bonnet and show people how clean the engine is. Anyway, lets hope water didnt get into the ECU.there is absolutely nothing wrong with washing ur engine especially in this Nigeria that is filled with dust. I like my car car to be clean which also includes the engine compartment. It has nothing to do with efizzy. Its also an avenue to get ur clogged condenser flushed. I wash my engine every 2-3 months and haven't had any problem with it. |
Harry_Potter22: I want to learn how to drive a car. I want to experience the thrill and adrenalin of the person behind the steering wheel. I also want to be able to say I can drive. Is there anyone who is willing to teach me? Would really appreciate.why do u want to learn how to drive a car . Thought ur name is harry potter, u don't need to drive. Just use ur broomstick lol. Anyway to be serious, why not enrol in a driving school, that is the best way u can learn how to drive especially since u don't have ur own car. |
itsmayiela: If you want to relax ur muscles and senses while driving (and possibly fall asleep on the wheel), then go for auto.If u are the type that sleeps while driving then u are not worthy to hold the steering. There are long stretch of roads whereby while driving manual u can go for like 30 mins without even touching the stick. So I don't get this logic about auto being for lazy people. |
tpacalipse: I live in Lagos, Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo and Oyo, don't ask me why I have many places, and I too have never come across any driving school that has a car fitted to an auto tranny in it collection to. May be they have in the eastern part of Nigeria and Abuja.Well ask Ikenna. I think he knows all. I live in Lagos and have never seen a registered driving school that teaches with auto tranny. |
Ikenna351: I wonder which Nigeria you were referring to? The one on planet Earth or maybe one in Pluto? Because am sure it's not the Nigeria on Earth.ok,maybe i may be wrong on that. All driving schools ive seen in Lagos though use manual tranny. I still maintain my point that driving a manual car does not make someone a superman, neither does driving an automatic make someone inferior. According to Wards automotive yearbook of 1958, it says that by 1957, 82.7% of cars made in the usa are fitted with automatic transmission. Statistics also show that in recent years only about 4% of American cars come with manual tranny. Now i know ur next comment will be is usa the only country in the world? My answer to that would be 'is Peugeot the only car in the world? U always reference to Peugeot in all ur comments, so i can also use usa as my own case study. Lets do a little research, go outside and count every car u see (lets say from 96 upwards, excluding taxis, busses and trucks) from hatchbacks to sedans ro suv , then tell me if 8 out of 10 cars are not automatics. Is driving stick a necessary skill? The answer is yes. Is it a compulsory skill? The answer is no. Does it make someone a better driver? The answer is no. The first 2 cars i bought were manual and my subsequent cars are automatic. I don't think i will ever buy a manual car again unless its a rare model with sentimental attachment. |
