Your saw a criminal robbing so you decide to shoot him on the head and killed him... And the police come thank you for Good job don abi

Your right ends in another man's nose
Your analogy makes no sense as you are comparing apples with oranges. If a criminal was threatening your life, you have a right to defend yourself by any means necessary. Abi if thieves show up for your house and you get AK47 for hand, you go dey wait for police?

This is what Telemundo and Reality TV does to your life, it f*cks it up! A typical African man wants action, he does not mind spending as long as he gets action. 8 years of no action, are you wood? Look at it this way, dating someone for 8 years without a proposal is bad enough but not even experiencing the sweet joy of knacking, that's some bulls**t!

Samleen:
But we are smart now, we know what to do come 2019

To every presidential aspirant, here is our requirement checklist if you actually want us to cast our votes for you in the coming 2019 election.

We don't care about what political party you belong to anymore -whether old party or new party, popular or unpopular; we don't care about what religion anymore; we don't care about what tribe or region anymore but
You

1. Must attend not less than 3 presidential debates: how do we know you're mentally stable and not a slowpoke if you cannot give reasonable responses to simple debate questioning?

2. Must undergo medical qualification tests: both the psychiatricals and others. The result must be verified by a notable medical panel and must be made availale to the general public.
People do medical tests even for secondary school admission, so why not for presidency aspiration.

3. Must have of governing plan (just like a business plan or a master plan) and make it available to the general public through the all the social media channels.
Bank cannot commit their cash to people without a good business plan with clearly written goals and objectives, figures, strategies and a guarantor, so how much more should we commit the life, future and properties of more than 150millions Nigerians to you without a plan.
In the plan must also be indicated your personer track records of successes.

4. Must have more than secondary school education. (There's nothing new about this)

5. Must have at least one of your children educated in a public university in Nigeria (not private): by this we will surely know that you believe in the future of Nigeria and that you will work towards her betterment.
This is a price not too much to pay if you realy love us.
We are tired of insensitivity of government towards the development of standards of educational setup in Nigeria, the strikes and industrial actions.

6. Must be a patronage of Nigerian made products and services and you must believe in capacity building of Nigerian indigenous businesses to provide exportable products and services to neighbouring countries, Africa and the world at large.

7. Must be wide reader and self development enthusiast: If you don't constantly feed your mind with transformative, educative and informative ideas through books, you don't have a business doing with presidency in Nigeria.
We are tired of archaic approaches to human governing. We need mordern, liberated and future oriented leaders to lead us in Nigeria, not power mongers, who just want to be in government for power, fame and monetary gain.

8. Must be within the working age range (younger than 60 years): "what's good for the goose is good for the gander".
Towards old age, people become less and less physically, socially, mentally and psychologically fit to cope with occupational demands, not to talk of rulling a nation of more than150million citizens, so retirement is compulsory.
The retirement age in Nigeria civil service guided by decree No. 102 of 1979 that dealt with pension and gratuity pegged the statutory age of retirement for public officers at 60 years, while it is 65 years for judiciary officers and 70 for academic staff of universities. However with reform of civil service decree No. 43 of 1988, retirement age has been put at 60 years or 35 years in service.

9. Must have no public record of hate speech, tribalism, nepotism, crime against humanity, pending corruption charges or history, and or affiliation with any millitant group or religion fundamentalist group or terrorist group :
We will never ever think again that people will change. Ascenssion to power only gives people the chance to express their true self.

10. Must have done something contributary to the development of your immediate environment: this is simple, is'nt it?

11. Must be well educated about the constitution of Nigeria. We are tired of reminding the government what to do and what's not to do. We are tired of reminding the government about what's in the costitution they swear to uphold. This is 21st century.
The INEC in collaoration with the National Assembly and the Judiciary Counsel of Nigeria should create an online platform where common citizen can get proper education about the Nigerian constitution. They should maku use of shot animated videos and other training material. Certificates should also be awarded.
All it takes is a bag of rice and maybe turkey to get votes in Nigeria. All of your epistle won't reach the market women, the traders and the ordinary folks that are simpleton able to be bought by food and small amounts of money. Everyone thinks Nigeria's problems lies with the politician but the masses are the real problem, slave mentality embedded deep within our psyche!

The average Nigerian does not understand economic policies or what actually affects the economy. They could care less if the government looted Trillions of Naira as long as they see signs of improvement such as having electricity for half the day, dollar staying below 200 and patched roads that are broken a year later. The average Nigerian would rather have 1 year of good fortunes rather than many years for the future generations. This is our problem as Nigerians, we would rather have a Jonathan and have him destroy future generations than have a Buhari and have him destroy the present while trying to preserve the future. We have never had a good leader in this country and we might never have! Just look at those coming out for the next presidential election, MORE OF THE SAME......#NationalProblem

The key word here is allies or in another form guardian or protector. It means only Allah can protect, only Allah is the true ally and Muslims should not look for protection from people who do not share their faith. This does not mean Muslims have the right to destroy or kill any Christians worshiping in peace, there's no compulsion in Islam but the ignoramus in the North can't seem to understand!

Hold your horse . .
No one said it couldn't kill.
Even a deflected bullet would kill instantly if it hit an organ or an artery.
Take note I used most "likely" and "probably".
But at that speed. .with the bullet hitting "something " before hitting it's final target. .the force will reduce and as long as no vital organ is hit. .the person would have more chances of surviving than if it was a direct hit.
I have read a lot and watched many documentaries about people surviving gunshots to the head just because the bullet hit something before them. .so it isn't just a theory, it's a fact.
This conversation is over.
Lol... nice try! Most likely means the greatest chance of it happening(This means compared to being hit directly, compared to wearing bulletproof vest, compared to having jazz and so on), perhaps you meant to use the word "likely" instead of "most likely". Likely is closer to probably but anyways your statement is a theory and not a fact because there are no valid statistic to back up your claim. Watching documentaries is not valid research, you need core numbers, sampling and so on. Nice try tho, now the conversation is over grin

And if the bullet killed you. .what would that mean?
The bullet most likely wouldn't have killed you be because something solid (probably a wall) would have deflected it or reduced the force. .such bullet would most likely injure, not kill.

You were just lucky.

If you want to prove God's existence ,put that chest in front of a close range smoking gun. Im sure you'll have more stories to tell. . .
I laugh at Nigerians sometimes, a bullet that can pierce a wall is definitely strong enough to kill if it strikes a human after. There have been numerous reports overseas especially communities with heavy gun violence. Stop saying what you don't know!

FALLACY 1: DON'T EAT MEAT BECAUSE THEY ARE REARED BY FULANIS. Many Yorubas and non Northerners rear cows and other livestock for living. Many own ranches and are legit business people. What happens to them? Do you have a job for them?

FALLACY 2: ASSUMPTION THAT CATTLE REARING IS THE MAIN SOURCE OF INCOME FOR THESE TERRORIST HERDSMEN. These herdsmen are not your ordinary herdsmen, they are backed by political heavyweights and have far more resources than you would expect. How much is AK47? What is the average income of an herdsmen where he will be able to afford 2 or even 3 AK-47s? Who sold it to them?

It is easy to come up with half-baked rhetoric just to sound intelligent but implementing it is much harder than you think. Will the businessman or tycoon in Aba or Lagos, stop eating meat because of herdsmen menace that has nothing to do with his state or family? When Sallah comes around, will the Southern Muslims not obey the commandment of slaughtering ram or cows? Whenever one of the wives gives birth, will you kill a chicken or meat? One thing is sure tho, if everyone voted with as much passion as they did in 2015, then it will be very easy to vote for someone serious about ending the herdsmen menace!

@bolded
Yet there are different judgements for it, indicating that not all violence is for the sake of it or considered violence at all.

If the world were so black and white as "violence is violence", then there is no point understanding even physics, for even something as quantitative and logical as that has its exceptions.

Being scholarly means looking at cause and effect, not just the effect. 2+2 equals to 4. 3 + 1 is 4. 2*2 is 4. And 4*1 is 4. Excluding all other numbers above 4 and below 1, you can see that concluding that there is 4, all are 4 as a scholar negates learning processes and additional info that leads to the conclusion that 'equals to four'. What makes it 4? The cause. From there you can see which processes involve prime numbers and which ones don't, though all processes involve integers. If you want to claim self preservation is violence and religious terrorism is violence, all are violence, then the aim of being scholarly is lost. A court knows which is which because it works with causes and not only effects.

As I said, there is no point furthering this argument. Enlightenment is a state of being, not something that can be shared.

Cheerios.
You are overthinking this, someone that kills in self defense and someone that kills just for the fun of it both did what? Killed! Whether they both get convicted does not take away from the premise. I'm not here arguing about their motives or whether they'll both get the same judgment, NO! You are arguing on motive, which means we are talking about two different things and quite frankly I don't have time for that. Yes violence is violence but I know people have their reasons, some valid some not valid. This is the clearest way I can put it, any further argument without acknowledging that is just trolling.....Good luck!

BRATISLAVA:
We can argue back and forth, and I can give you reasons why you are wrong with your assumptions about the crusades and what violence is and how we all have the same God (which we don't).

As a scholar you look to the origins and look to the motives and not just the end result. If you take a case of violence to a court, you will be judged not for violence, but for the case presented as violence. In this case you say violence is violence and that is it. That means that in your court a person who kills in self-defense is guilty of murder regardless of how and why; they killed so they must face the music. But there is violence and there is violence.

I'll not argue this for lack of solid points but because you've had a lot of time with the facts you've read somewhere, and nothing you see contrary to that will make sense. I'm not interested in convincing you otherwise.

I don't believe in arguing on religious topics and stopped doing so for a while. I'd rather argue on something educational which has an end.
I also don't like arguing but I love trying to enlighten my people with the little that I know. For example your point:

That means that in your court a person who kills in self-defense is guilty of murder regardless of how and why; they killed so they must face the music. But there is violence and there is violence.

In the court of law self defense is a valid excuse but it does not take away from the act. Violence is violence regardless of the motive, now whether you are convicted or judged for such violent acts is another different story. Hope you get my point. Irregardless, my example of violence in both books is not meant to ridicule them but rather highlight the similarities in both. The white men got married in a church, the black man had a traditional marriage ceremony, who is to say one is valid over the other? This is what I meant by one God, how we choose to worship him is another story entirely.....lol

Family › Re: Why Do some Men Beat Their Wives? by abbey621(m):
In a country where teachers and even university lecturers are allowed to flog or beat their students or pupils, we are shocked by this? In a country where the men are expected to cater for their wives or girlfriends 100%, are we really surprised by this? When females are taught or brainwashed into believing the best way to make money is to get a rich or financially okay guy, are we still shocked?

Let's be honest here, majority of wife or women beaters do so because they were provoked/frustrated. There is a minor percentage that do so because they are just plain evil. The provocation might be intentional or unintentional and no man is incapable of being violent. I have seen rich men go broke, turn into drunkards and/or drug users and ended up resulting to violence against their spouse. I've also seen guys that over pampered their women only to discover that they are cheating, the guys just went nuts! I've seen guys that were struggling to take care of their family only to discover the woman is secretly building house in the village, I've seen men find out after 20 years of marriage that the children are not his, can you blame such a man for his rage?

I laugh when I see softies talk about never hit a woman under no circumstances, I have an uncle who caught his wife putting poison in his food, he recorded her and showed it to both families, will you blame such a man for going nuts? Life is crazy and I'll be the last to judge a fellow human being when I'm not perfect myself so the best advice for ladies in violent situations is to just LEAVE! If a man is feeding, clothing and keeping a roof over your head, what exactly are you contributing? Babies, is this your life ambition? What happens when the man is no longer financially buoyant? Be an asset to your man, make it difficult for him to mess up. You can be submissive but never ever be USELESS!

Whichever religion you choose just make sure you chose it for the right reasons. For many humans switch religions in times of tribulation and rejoice at every miracle and when that no longer serves their purpose they move on searching for the next miracle but if only they calmed down and reason, they'll see that the God of yesterday is still the God of today and will forever be God.
Christianity Etc › Re: 4 Antichrist Statements Made By Daddy Freeze (VIDEO) by abbey621(m): 3:33pm On Jan 10, 2018
BRATISLAVA:
Sorry for your shame expressed there.

But each religion has its own God. How can a Christian believe their God comes in as many forms as the Hindu gods? How can a Baha'i believe their God sanctioned them to do a jihad? How can a Buddhist believe his God is beyond himself? There is no contradiction in that. If you do a survey of a religious adherents(not new age logic deducing individuals(an argument for another day)) you will get to realize that Allah cannot be the God of the Hindus or traditionalists. Each has their own god but there is only one God.

The problem of many religionists today is believing they all serve the same being (s) called God. It's like a molecular physicist and a geophysicist believing they are both doing law, because they all studied in a university and got degrees.

And though it may appear that the Bible and Koran are the same, because they're Oriental, they are very different. If you want to talk about religious violence and self-preservative violence in both and call them both violence it will be wrong. A scholarly standpoint involves all information gathered in order to come to a conclusion. In this case, the two religions cannot be alike except you want to put into consideration that the Koran copied both the Bible and the Torah to come up with its own foundation.

But that's hardly my interest. Search for the truth. That is all.
Christians at least the earlier people of the book also believed in Jihad. Jihad is holy war which means fighting for God and it was done by Moses, Abraham and many others in the Bible. In more modern times it was done by the Holy Roman Catholic Church when they fought the Holy Crusades so this is like giving ammunition to my points. Furthermore man's problem has always been interpretation, most religion were formed based on stories and no one is 100% certain of the authenticity but I guess that's what we call faith. Without faith there is no religion, I'm not going to speak on other religions because I have not extensively researched them but I do know about Islam and Christianity. These two religions are more similar in their origin than you know. From a scholarly standpoint you might want to find out what the earliest version of the Bible looked like before it was translated by the zionist. The easiest way to describe it is to remove the new testament and compare the Quran with the old testament. You'll find all the prophets are the same, all the stories are the same, all the violence, the miracles are all the same. This is the shocking truth and no one can deny it but somewhere along the line things changed but even with these changes, you'll be surprised that some aspects of the new testament are also in the Quran. By you saying the Quran copied the Bible only serves to strengthen my point that they both have the same origin, which to me means they operate under the principle of serving an eternal God with no rival. Which to me means there is only one God and since there is only one God, the logical conclusion here is that they both serve the same God since he is only one anything else is blasphemy! The Quran even confirms that what is written in it is verified by the Torah and Injil, so I'm very convinced Christians and Muslims and Jews serve the same God, the only difference is the alteration and ways people worship over the years.

Finally, you cannot separate the violence in one and term it as religious and then do the same for the other and call it self-preservative. This is purely sentimental and not based on FACTS. Are the violence of Moses or Joshua any different from that of other prophets? Since all these violence are well represented by both books I fail to see how you can separate them.
