Former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, says that a governor in the All Progressives Congress (APC), South West region, has been told by a cabal that he would be made president in 2023, Igbere TV reports. Mr Fani-Kayode said in a tweet on Friday that the governor has been asked to ‘divide’ and ‘destroy’ socio-cultural group, Afenifere, as condition for being made president. “An old friend of mine who is an APC Governor in SW has been told by the cabal that they will make him President in 2023. As quid pro qou he has been asked to divide & destroy Afenifere. He is making a big mistake because no matter how hard he tries Afenifere cannot be destroyed,” he said. The APC governors in the South West region include Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Gboyega Oyetola of Osun, and Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti. Seyi Makinde of Oyo is a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Igbere TV reports that Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Muhammad Babandede, says the Federal Government has approved that all Africans can enter Nigeria without a visa from January 2020. Mr Babandede disclosed this at the inauguration of the Africa–Frontex Intelligence Community (AFIC) on Wednesday in Abuja. “The announcement would be made soon by the President of the Federation. ”But we cannot succeed without a tool like AFIC. This tool is keen if we want to implement an effective free movement across our border. “The tool is actually coming at the right time. AFIC would help African countries especially Nigeria that want to open its border for all Africans to enter at will. And now that tool is available, it would make the work easier for us,” he said. Babandede added that it was important to acknowledge the different forces in Nigeria curbing crime and insecurity. “But our duty is unique and you may not see it as it is in Chad, Benin or Cameroon. “The essence is that we are very keen and we have been working with EU for a long time. Frontex is in charge of border before they got another responsibility called coast guard which is also very keen to Africa especially checking member state of ECOWAS,” he said. http://igberetvnews.com/1190602/africans-can-come-nigeria-without-visa-2020-nis-boss-babandede/ Lalasticlala Seun Mynd44

Niger Delta Youth Council (NDYC) and few other groups from the Niger Delta have urged President Muhammadu Buhari to issue a direct the Minister of Niger Delta Mr Godswill Akpabio to inaugurate Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board. The call was made in Abuja on Monday during a protest led by the NDYC and National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-agitators as well as Ijaw Youth Council (IYC). The group urged the President not to be deterred by criticisms of the already screened Board of the NDDC saying it was the handiwork of enemies of the region orchestrated by youths outside the region. They described the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of NDDC as illegal and an attempt to undermine the powers of the President to appoint the Board and also urged the Senate to discountenance the campaign of calumny against the Senate Committee Chairman on Niger Delta Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi. Addressing journalists during the protest, National Coordinator of NDYC, Engr. Jator Abido, National President, National Coalition of Niger Delta Ex-Agitators, Eshanekpe Isreal and Mr Henry Iyalla, Spokesperson IYC, Beke Apere of Niger Delta Stakeholders challenged those calling for continuity of the NDDC IMC to publish their names and identities. “We in Niger-Delta region appreciate President Muhammadu Buhari for his sincerity in addressing the challenges in the region; we are not some paid groups who are not concerned if the Niger Delta is inflamed. “We are true leaders in the Niger-Delta who have traceable addresses, names and antecedents; the protest on Friday Dec. 6 appeared to be about Sen. Peter Nwaoboshi. “Without defending or condemning Sen. Nwaoboshi, the issue of inaugurating the screened board of the NDDC has nothing to do with whatever allegation against any Senator. “This board was appointed by Mr President who found these compatriots worthy and Sen. Nwaoboshi’s committee agreeing with the views of the President cannot constitute any problem except the ones created by makers of this dangerous mischief. “We stand with the decision of the Nigerian Senate to stand in defense of NDDC act.” The group further expressed support for the forensic audit of the NDDC, but insisted that obeying the law by inaugurating the board would not obstruct the exercise. They further urged the Senate not to succumb to cheap blackmail of mischief makers for the disbandment of its committee on Niger Delta. “The Senate should not under any cheap blackmail criminalize any of its members on the basis of mere allegations. “Those urging the Senate to dismantle its committee on Niger-Delta based on mere allegations should first advise their sponsors to resign due to the equally enormous allegations against them. “The refusal to inaugurate the Board which has been screened is a straight call for anarchy and it should be averted. “We therefore, call for peace in the Niger-Delta and urge the President to inaugurate the Board forthwith.” https://fireboydml.xyz/2019/12/10/inaugurate-nddc-board-now-ex-agitators-niger-delta-youths-to-president-buhari/ Lalasticlala Mynd44

The Nigerian Bar Association has demanded the immediate suspension of the Director-General of Department of State Services, Yusuf Bichi, over the style used in rearresting Omoyele Sowore in court premises. Operatives of the DSS had invaded the Federal High Court on Friday, December 6th to arrest Sowore. The NBA in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Kunle Edun, said it was “greatly dismayed at the exhibition of primitivity, thuggery, insane passion for lawlessness, contempt and disrespect for the rule of law by the agents of the DSS”. The body of lawyers in the country also said that it finds it disgraceful that this 'court riot' occasioned by the high-handedness and insensitivity of the security operatives interrupted judicial proceedings and made the presiding judge to abandon judicial proceedings because of safety concerns. NBA urged President Buhari to “ensure that the Federal Government and agencies under it obeyed court orders,” as the display of “disrespect of the court by the DSS is legendary and unrivalled”. The organisation called on all Nigerians to stand up and ensure that no government or any of its agencies disrespected the constitution of the country. The statement added, “We call for the immediate suspension of the Director-General of the Department of State Security from office. “We make this demand bearing in mind the fact that the DSS under his leadership had established itself as a brutish and irresponsible agency that derives immense pleasure from violating the fundamental rights of Nigerians and disrespecting court orders. “The National Assembly should review the laws setting up the DSS and indeed all security agencies in Nigeria with a view to repositioning them to be more responsible and responsive to the public.” http://igberetvnews.com/1181271/sowore-nba-demands-immediate-suspension-dss-boss-yusuf-bichi/ Lalasticlala Mynd44

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has celebrated former President Goodluck Jonathan on his 62nd birthday. The party in a tweet on Wednesday prayed for ‘guidance’ as Mr Jonathan continues to “contribute to the stability of democracy” in the country and beyond. “@GEJonathan At 62: Your Excellency Sir, we thank God for the gift of life, divine wisdom and direction on this special day of your 62nd birthday. We pray for God’s guidance as you continue to contribute to the stability of Democracy in Nigeria and beyond. Congratulations! ” the tweet read. David Lyon of the APC won the election after polling 352,552 votes to defeat his closest rival, Duoye Diri of PDP, who scored 143,172 votes. Senator Dino Melaye has said that he would report Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and several others to the international community and then to the International Criminal Court (ICC) over the violence that occurred during the November 16 elections. Melaye lost his nephew in the violence after gunmen opened fire at his Aiyetoro ward. The lawmaker said in a tweet on Tuesday that he would take the matter up to the international community, saying the exercise in Kogi was a civil war, not an election. “What we had in Kogi is no election, what we had was a civil war that has claimed 16 lives so far. I will report Bello, Smart Adeyemi, Taofik, Speaker Kolawole and Sunday Faleke to the international community and then proceed to Hague. This I promise,” he wrote. Bello was on Monday declared winner of the governorship election while Kogi West senatorial rerun election, which was held simultaneously on November 16, was declared inconclusive. Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kogi, Natasha Akpoti, has filed a suit against Governor Yahaya Bello, challenging his fitness to contest for the November 16 governorship election. The case will be heard on Friday, a day to Election Day, before Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja. Akpoti listed the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as 1st and 2nd defendants respectively. The suit dated October 10 and marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1221/2019, filed by Mike Ozekhome, on Akpoti’s behalf, seeks the court’s determination on the eligibility of Mr Bello in the Saturday election, having allegedly involved in double registration as a voter. Akpoti said: “That by his wilful act of making double registration as a voter, Yahaya Bello, candidate of the 1st defendant is not a fit and proper person to be allowed by the 2nd defendant to vote or be voted for in the forthcoming Kogi state governorship election, having committed act of electoral fraud. “That Mr. Yahaya Bello, the candidate of the 1st defendant, was initially registered as a voter sometime in 2011 in Abuja, by the 2nd defendant. “That Bello, the candidate of the 1st defendant, again fraudulently procured from the 2nd defendant a second registration as a voter on 23rd May 2017 at Government House, Lokoja, while his 2011 first registration as a voter in Abuja was still live, extant and subsisting. “That the said Yahaya Bello, the candidate of the 1st defendant, carried out the double registration with the 2nd defendant so as to scuttle due electoral process. “That such a person is not a fit and proper person to vote for in any election, let alone for the high office of the governor of a state.” Akpoti had on Tuesday raised alarm after she was attacked by thugs suspected to be loyal to Bello at the political stakeholders meeting organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lokoja. http://igberetvnews.com/1134841/kogi-2019-sdp-candidate-natasha-akpoti-drags-yahaya-bello-court-eligibility-status/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique

Thugs suspected to be loyal to Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, have attacked the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Natasha Akpoti, at the political stakeholders meeting organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lokoja. Igbere TV reports that this comes amid tension brewing in the state as it prepares for the polls on November 16. In a tweet on Tuesday, Akpoti said she was pushed to the ground and denied entrance into the meeting in the presence of police officers and INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu. “I’ve just been attacked, pushed to the ground and denied entrance by Yahaya Bello’s @OfficialAPCNg into the Political Stakeholders meeting organized by @inecnigeria in Lokoja. 500 @PoliceNG watched doing nothing. Prof. Mahmood, Comm of Police were in there and did nothing,” she said. The attack on Akpoti comes less than 48 hours after the state party secretariat was set ablaze by thugs reportedly loyal to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Following the attack, the SDP has refused to sign the Peace Accord. The Federal High Court, Abuja had on November 7 ordered INEC to restore Akpoti as SDP governorship candidate, saying the commission had no power to disqualify any candidate for an election “as it is the exclusive reserve of a competent court of law.” https://twitter.com/NatashaAkpoti/status/1194225610685632512?s=19 http://igberetvnews.com/1130411/kogi-2019-thugs-attack-kogi-sdp-guber-candidate-natasha-akpoti-inec-gathering/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique

The Federal High Court, Abuja, on Thursday, failed to deliver ruling on Abdulrasheed Maina, Chairman, Pension Reform Task Team (PRTM)’s bail application. Justice Okon Abang, who stated this, said the date for ruling would be made known at the close of work. The judge attributed the reason to heavy workload on the court. “On account of the heavy workload on this honourable court, the court shall reserve ruling on the bail application. “The ruling is not ready. The court will give another date at the close of work today,” Abang said. Maina, whose trial was stalled on Tuesday due to ill-health, was, on Thursday, wheeled into Court 6, where his bail application was expected to be taken, Igbere TV reports. Two officers of the Kuje Nigerian Correctional Service wheeled Maina into the courtroom at about 9:30 am, armed with two first aid boxes. Maina was dressed in a light green colour caftan. The former chairman of PRTM was looking pensive and sickly. Maina had, on Oct. 25, arraigned alongside a firm, Common Input Property and Investment Ltd, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) before Justice Okon Abang. He was charged with 12 counts bordering on money laundering, operating fictitious bank accounts and fraud. Maina is the 1st defendant in the case, the company was the 2nd defendant. On Monday, the court adjourned until Tuesday to take his application seeking an abridgement of time to hear his bail application earlier fixed for Nov. 19 and also for the continuation of evidence by the prosecution’s first witness. However, when the matter was called on Tuesday, Maina was not in court. He was said to be indisposed. http://igberetvnews.com/1119342/court-fails-rule-mainas-bail-application/ Lalasticlala Mynd44 Dominique
